it's absolutely essential that you have a separate phone number for your business for so many reasons at least when it comes to getting credit lines loans and credit cards and during this training i'm lenders are credit issuers see you as really fundable is what gets you approved for the most money at the best terms and a large part of that happens with setting up your phone number the right way should lend you money is whether or not you and the business are separate you see a lot of business owners are a sole proprietor where they are the business they're using their mobile phone their home phone their home address and they really don't separate themselves from their business so when lenders and credit issuers look at them it's really hard to distinguish anything different between the owner and the business itself we don't want that what we want is for you and the business to be separate when lenders and credit issuers can look at your business separate from you that's where you're fundable that's where they want to give your business money that's where your business can start the fund itself you can get away from personal credit checks you can get away from personal guarantees especially on business credit accounts but it all happens with something as basic as a business phone number if you get this done the right way goes a long way to helping you become more fundable and for lenders or credit issuers not to just to approve you but to approve you for more money at better terms so what are lenders and credit issuers even looking at in a business fund well the very first thing they're looking at is that it's not a home phone it's not a mobile phone look within milliseconds the minute you enter a phone number into a field online for a lender or credit issuer their computers immediately categorize that phone number in several buckets they either know it's a home phone they know it's a mobile phone or they know it's like a business line or they know it's like somewhere in between like a voice over ip number so what you don't want to have happen is that lenders and credit distributors see that you're using a mobile phone or a home phone as your business phone look let's be honest that just doesn't make you look credible and the minute they know that your mobile phone is what you're putting out there is your business phone or your home phone then they immediately put a bing ding against you a big red x when it comes to fundability and when you have enough of these red x's against you in fundability you just simply get denied even with one or two of these red x's against you because your address your phone number doesn't meet their criteria it means you'll get less money and pay worse terms so if you want to get the highest approvals and the lowest interest rates you've got to make sure you set up your business words fundable and getting a separate phone number for your business is absolutely essential now you don't need to get a landline business phone number used to be thousands of dollars for somebody to come in and connect business phone numbers in an office nowadays you can use voice over ip or virtual numbers and that's just fine so consider a phone number from ring central or freedom voice or any number of different voice over ip providers but make sure that phone number is only used for business purposes not personal so by making sure that you stay away from home phones stay away from mobile phones and get a separate phone number for your business even if it's a voice over ip that goes a long way to helping your business set itself up where it's fundable now you want to avoid some very common mistakes and some of the common mistakes we already talked about staying away from mobile and home phones but you also need to make sure you get your phone number set up and listed with 4-1-1 this is one of the basic checks that lenders and credit issuers look at to see if you're credible online they want to see that that phone number is listed with 4-1-1 so get your phone number set up and get it listed with 4-1-1 you can go to a company called list yourself to do that or you can just start listing your business in places like google my business bing yahoo and the more it's listed online the more possibility that 411 will pick it up or just shortcut the process and go to listyourself.net you also want to make sure the phone number is toll-free you don't want to use a local phone number look a phone number that's toll-free gets you a lot more credibility for lenders and credit issuers and what gives you even more credibility is having a fax number if an application asks for a fax number you don't want to leave that blank you want to have a phone number to enter and nowadays a lot of these phone service providers and we'll talk about some of the best ones here in a minute we'll often times make your phone number your fax number as well so make sure that you have a fax number make sure the phone number is with four or is actually listed with 411 make sure it's toll-free by doing this you'll avoid some of the common mistakes that will not make you look credible and you'll build a phone number that gives you a lot of credibility with lenders and credit issuers so what service do you use when setting up your phone number there's a lot of them whether it be phone.com vonage freedom voice ring central those are four of the most popular ones that a lot of our clients use but as long as you're using a voice over ip you should be fine now for some reason sometimes google voice phone numbers do have an issue with a lot of vendors don't know why but we see a lot of actual clients denied because they're using an actual phone line set up from google so maybe avoid that but some of the other ones from phone.com devonage to ring central to even freedom voice are great options for you to set up your business phone number if you follow these steps well congratulations now you've
