hey my name's brandon welcome to my youtube channel [Music] so the content that i'll be posting will be mainly of my truck build and going to the track you know any upgrades that i do to the truck hopefully results of those upgrades so if that's something you'd like to see be sure to subscribe why why why why why so to get into a little bit of background about probably i don't know 10 years ago i really started to you know discover the ls platform and what sloppy mechanics was doing i really just wanted to get into a build myself so i know that it's way overdone but i wanted to get into an s10 s15 chassis ls swap it put a big turbo on it do burnouts get ice cream you know the norm but i had a hard time in the northeast finding a clean body chassis to be able to work with obviously i'm in the rust belt it's really difficult to find a clean truck i actually found a donor vehicle first in probably maybe early 2016 i picked up uh gmc savannah 3500. perfect donor platform had the 6 liter the 4l80 and i picked it up for under a thousand bucks ran and drove and then a handful of months later i actually found this truck so it was in ohio i found it on craigslist looked like a pretty good deal clean truck and it had a turbo kit on it so that was interesting first time i'd ever seen a 4.3 turbo so i go and look at the truck no rust uh no major body damage and it had really nice parts on it i couldn't pass it up i jumped on it brought it home but once i got it home the fabrication work was so nice it already had you know these aftermarket parts that were really nice on it and i decided that you know i'm gonna stick with the turbo four three uh i couldn't pass up a deal and i really just didn't want to mess with it at the time i didn't own a welder i didn't have uh a whole bunch of fabricating tools so it was going to be a lot to jump into a turbo ls build anyway so i felt like i got a leg up on the game uh just getting into something that already had a bunch of fabrication already done so i wound up ditching the ls swap and just keep in the turbo 4.3 and i think i've done pretty well with it [Music] so the truck's actually a 2003 chevy s10 i put the sonoma front end on it it is a turboed 4.3 liter v6 it is the original engine i bought it with 122 000 miles on it and it has 132 000 miles on it now the turbo kit hasn't really been modified at all since i bought it it's worked pretty well so i haven't had to do any major changes to it i've really just been upgrading around the turbo kit i have a bunch of receipts from when it was built and the owner put over 800 dollars just in materials to build the turbo kit and the turbo that is on the truck is a genuine garrett gt3582r with a .82 ar it has a full three inch uh downpipe with a straight through three inch magnaflow muffler it has a tile mvs i believe 38 millimeter external wastegate so like i said i really haven't changed any of those parts i've tweaked the exhaust since i bought it and other than that uh it's worked really well so one of the main drawbacks with modifying these 4.3 liter v6 engines is actually the fuel system the way that these come originally is spider injection with the spider injection you really couldn't push much power without reaching the limits of the fuel system so the only bolt-on kit that they make was actually originally destined for a marine application so mirror cruiser put these 4.3 liter v6 engines in boats and that's what this truck came with is a boat intake manifold the major drawback with that manifold is cast iron so i've weighed it and it's over 50 pounds of cast iron right over the nose so that's a major drawback and and really it's the only option that's readily available you can get into a couple other options but it either requires you know custom welding or getting fairly rare parts from the gmc cyclone and typhoon and then you have modifications on top of that to get that to work um so this truck already came with that manifold it came with 42 pound injectors the only major modifications other than those that the truck came with was really the suspension so it's still has some of those components but it came with uh two-inch drop spindles in the front i think it was three-inch drop springs and in the rear it came with the split monolith cal tracks and obviously the caltrak track bars other than that the truck was near stock i'm not positive about what was changing the interior but it looks really clean and i haven't really done much in there so i hope you guys have made it through the whole video we'll stick around and subscribe and watch me have a fun time with my turbo 43 we'll see hey what's up guys here we are with the new year coming soon countdown basically an hour to go i thought i'd warm the truck up and shoot off some fireworks of my own so i'll let her get up to temp and see if we can make some fire um two-step was pretty rowdy she's still alive still ticking no issues mint
