welcome back to the comments section I'm Brett Cooper obviously I'm not at the studio today I am not in my beautiful new set that I love very much it is the arctic tundra blast and Nashville does not know how to salt or clear their roads it is very difficult to get to the studio so instead we are filming in my unfinished attic Den which I actually think looks pretty fantastic and it was a nice slow morning my team came over we had coffee together I made my eggs we hung out upstairs while I did my own makeup so if it doesn't look as good as normal it's my fault you can blame me anyway that's what we're doing here today but we have a new C controversy to discuss and it is actually about an influencer that I love and that I have followed for many years I'm excited to get into it we are talking about everyone's favorite and arguably the most famous Homesteader tradwife influencer because she's gotten herself into yet another controversy because the internet simply cannot leave her alone obviously we are discussing ballerina Farm but before we get into it make sure that you like this video subscribe to this channel if you have not already and ring that notification Bell so that you never miss a comment section upload ballerina Farm is a farm and business out in Utah and and it is run by a former juliard in New York City ballerina named Hannah and her husband Daniel and they're both from Utah they're Mormons they've lived in Utah basically their whole life until they got married they moved to New York and then they came back and bought this Farm now they are first generation ranchers this was a dream that they had they went out they chased it but they have turned their Ranch and their brand into a huge huge and very very profitable business they sell their meat all across the country they sell sourdough and baked goods and kitchen appliances and tools like if you were trying to buy something for kitchen ballerina Farm probably has it and sells it her videos on social media are idilic and picturesque and you know they show her milking cows in the morning as the sun rises with seven cute little blonde children scampering around her with the sheep and chickens squawking and even though this seems incredibly unpro problematic and all the videos are very cute and sweet and beautiful people have gotten very angry at her online for cosplaying as poor because they have a very simply decorated Farmhouse she does not wear lavish expensive clothing even though they're obviously very well off and and run a very successful business and another important factor is that her husband Daniel does come from a lot of money I believe that his father founded JetBlue Airlines so they have a lot of family support I don't know if they got financial support from their families but people online figured that out and use that as a way to discredit her like she is not a real farmer she didn't do this from the ground up and they hate her because of that obviously in our society it's very normal for people online to hate people who are successful who have money that's just the norm does not surprise me they're just being haters now other people online have said that she and Daniel have made farming and homesteading look way too easy and like an idic fantasy but I would argue that both she and Daniel on their independent pages over the past couple of years have started to show a lot more of what goes on behind the scenes how much support they have the amount of employees they have to run this kind of business the support she has with raising her kids all of that it's a lot more transparent and I think that they did that intentionally I really appreciate it it also just gives me more insight on how they're able to pull this off because again it's inspirational it's about like the fact that they've been able to build this is incredible they don't hide that it is is a lot of work especially Daniel on his page I mean he is out Sunrise to sundown working building barns right now he has tractors stuck in the snow because there's like 10 ft of snow in Utah obviously like they do not hide any of that but the joy and the love they have for this kind of work in their family is truly infectious and I think that is why people love to follow them so all of that to say I personally have never really been rubbed the wrong way by her her family or her content maybe it's not what everybody's Farms look like maybe not everybody is going to have seven plus kids and dance around their Farm literally doing ballet dance while making sour dough which is my mom's critique she's like that is not normal that is not how normal moms act but the picture they paint is objectively beautiful it is aspirational it makes people yearn for a better more beautiful more natural way of life and I will never say that that is a bad thing because she is inspiring so many people to make changes in their life and I think that that is obviously a good thing that is the context that is the backstory those are some of the other controversies but now people have found a new reason to be angry at her two weeks ago right around Christmas she gave birth to their eighth child and then a week later she was posting on social media saying that she was getting ready for a pageant and the internet lost their damn Minds so here's a post from her right after giving birth baby is here prayers here she is in bed with her beautiful new baby like this is right after giving birth she is radiant it's insane I don't know how this woman does it she has eight children she looks like she's 22 years old she is stunning she is radiant and just as an asde that baby is literally precious if you want to help other precious babies you should look into pre-born I mean who wouldn't want to help expectant mothers and babies in crisis every day by giving free sounds that help mothers connect with their unborn baby pre-born network of clinics help save over 200 babies every single day but it doesn't stop there they also offer mothers maternity clothes doctor visits and the support they need in order to choose life and that is some good news now if this is a cause that you believe in if this is something close to your heart I would highly suggest supporting pre-born your gift of $28 will cover a free ultrasound for an expectant mother and could make the difference between her choosing life all gifts are tax deductible and will go directly towards saving baby's Liv so if you're able this is the time to be generous to donate you can dial pound 250 and say the keyword baby or you can go to pre-born dcom Bret again that is preborn docomo make a donation today now back to another very cute baby and her mother Hannah started doing pageants a few years ago because it was something that she had always wanted to do I think because she was a dancer she probably missed being on stage she got to dance a little bit at the pageants talk about their Farm being a mom it was a goal that she had and she started chasing it she was Miss Utah a few years ago she is currently M American and she had committed to that title and set the goal of competing and hopefully winning the M world pageant before she found out that she was pregnant with their eight child and that competition is happening right now so she gave birth a week ago and then she got up and she started getting ready for this last competition and watch this video that she posted cute new baby you can kind of see their house again like very simple very rustic she's stunning she's like 30 something years old and has not lost her ballerina body at all she's trying on outfits for the different pageant things different outfits that's her husband she brought the baby to the pageant people were saying that she was leaving the baby at home like it's unreal she is stunning like I know that we all say that Margot Robbie is Barbie and was the perfect Barbie but like Hannah from ballerina Farm she is a real life Barbie that is my American princess this is my Barbie she is stunning I don't know how she pulls it off but she does I like as most of the internet is we are in awe of it now our caption for this video is what the last 12 days have looked like for me it has been a postpartum like no other your Mrs American and baby girl American are here and ready to roll and the women under this video in the comment section were livid they were livid that her postpartum choices and experiences were different than theirs and that she was putting it online and that that was some kind of direct attack or a dangerous thing that she was doing yikes why are we praising this allow your body to heal and bond with baby girl that is your only job right now and any new moms comparing themselves to this please don't this is not realistic somebody else said can we normalize actually staying in bed postpartum or another woman said well yes you're Superwoman this kind of content is super damaging to majority of freshly postpartum moms I wish you were instead choosing to Showcase being a role model for birth recovery for bonding with baby for respecting your body's Journey for allowing Nature's magic to take precedence for prioritizing family for nourishing your body with nutrition and rest being beautiful by Society standards in an unnatural time frame over these things feels toxic and icky you could have taught other moms self-compassion and presence and healthy mindsets around the maternal transition body and soul I am so disheartened that you chose to do this instead those kinds of comments always just rub me the wrong way anyway it's like it's not your life if you're a keyboard Warrior if somebody is doing something that you don't agree with like come on you don't need to write all that now first of all this woman Hannah has had eight eight children I think she has learned by now what she can and cannot handle postpartum there were also comments from people saying like after my third baby it got so easy my body understood what it was supposed to do it was a totally different experience like every woman's body is different that should not be some new shocking thing that's just normal all of our bodies are different we can handle different things she is also a former dancer who still lives a very active life if you follow her she's doing ballet across her house she does bar exercises still she runs a farm she was working outside in the cold up until giving birth so it's not like she's sending her body into shock by getting up and doing all of this and doing some stretching right after giving birth like that is normal for her she also had a natural home birth she literally gave birth in the bathroom at home with no epidural no C-section making her recovery vastly different than most women who are giving birth in a hospital these days and lastly and most importantly this is her choice and her body I have no desire to ever do a pageant I've never wanted to do pageants but if that's a goal that she had that she's going after I love that for her that's great we need more real women in pageants these days but that's a story for another day but just that alone I'm glad that she's competing because she seems like a wonderful person and I would much rather have her on that stage than somebody else that last commenter was saying I wish that you were setting an example for rest and all that she's setting an example of being a mom who is still present she's literally bringing her baby to the pageant who is obviously very active in her children's lives they're all homeschooled but is still running a successful business and being a role model for 9 million people online I'd say that that's a pretty good thing and is pretty impressive anyway back to the comments it's all women supporting women until a woman does something that other women deem as unattainable damaging or too much which is the most unsurprising thing of the centy because it's chicks man so that's against the rules and you can't sit with us however do not worry because there were people in the comments that actually took women supporting women to Hearts one lady said dude I am freshly postp parted with baby number five and I can say that this is extremely awesome y'all need to relax some girls are thin like her they're motivated and some of us gain 40 lbs and chill for 3 months I love this content leave her be exactly our bodies are all different we have different experiences we make different choices it doesn't mean that my life is better than yours or your life is better than mine it's simply different somebody else says for everyone complain compling about how unrealistic this is that is rude and ridiculous this is realistic for her and lots of women you are the ones not being supportive of women she is a woman and this is her life and all of this reminds me of something that I've actually been thinking a lot about recently which is that as a society we have totally lost the Allure of fantasy and things that are almost unattainable for the sake of relatability like everything has to be relatable everything has to show representation it has to be sensitive and not leave anybody out you can't hurt anybody's feelings by showing something that is Elite or almost unattainable but that is not how the world has always worked we have always had people that are Elite at what they do who we watch in awe like the Olympians who Inspire us to change our lives to get off our asses to be better to make a change in our life and now it seems like we shun them in the name of inclusivity like we don't rever them as much as we used to it's like when we got rid of the Victoria Secret fashion show because some critics said that it was not body positive enough and it was damaging to a lot of women but you know what people were saying online they wanted the original angels because they were a fantasy men wanted to be with them women wanted to be them because they were so incredible they literally had us in a trance watch this Tik Tok this girl said now that skinny is back in fashion can we please bring back Victoria Secrets fashion show I miss the Angels the fantasy bras and unrealistically beautiful bodies models are meant to be attractive you don't see the World Cup being cancelled because some of you can't play football again elite elite individuals that we watch that we're inspired by because maybe we'll never be able to do that but we watch them because are objectively incredible and we can sheer them on from afar even if that is not our life somebody commented and said yes I literally looked up to them so much because they were successful and pretty women I want the Angels back so bad and then here's another one kind of on the same train I don't care about problematic I want the Victoria Secret fashion shows back people got mad because these women trained like athletes only to walk down a Runway and carry heavy art pieces on their back and two post after four years of the body positive message uh sales are declining so they're going to bring this back Manifest Destiny or whatever that thing is called it's back and it's coming back and I like that thank you whole show was about making women living art pieces by making them ethereal creatures almost something that you couldn't obtain unless you actually worked hard for it it was really all about a fantasy they were called Angels why would women get upset if this was their representation this is like the prettiest of all women I don't get mad at Ryan Gosling because he played Ken I think that's an excellent point if the ideal woman is a Victoria Secret model and that is what is representing real women across the world that is okay with me if Hannah from ballerina Farm is the ideal woman who was being represented I love that because number one she's stunning she's an incredible mother she's a successful businesswoman she's a loving wife why wouldn't we love that all of this going on up here is what's causing me the most physical discomfort this right here is my favorite thing ever in the history of forever I think about this every day but and said same bring them back being a model was meant to be hard and unattainable wow almost like being a ballet dancer was hard and attainable like Hannah has trained her entire life for a very specific body type she has trained her body to be able to do things that other people cannot do if you've never done ballet that might be hard to comprehend but you put your body through hell for that that is what she did for her entire childhood she is different than many of us another person said literally why do we have to adapt to other people's insecurities and that is what people in the comments of Hannah's video were asking her to do and this is really how I feel about ballerina Farm the day after giving birth she was up with her kids cooking and working around the house which honestly is how it used to be for women hundreds of years ago they didn't just sit around and be waited on handed foot and watch Netflix shows that's great that we can do that now that is a luxury but that isn't how it's always been and now at this pageant she is managing competing while also caring for and actively breastfeeding every couple of hours her new baby who is there with her who is participating I would argue that she's actually getting more one-on-one time with this baby here than she is if she was at home with her seven other children running around and all of her employees and her husband that's an argument for another day but the point is this life that they live is not attainable and that's totally fine not all of us can can just run away from New York City on our jobs there and buy thousands of acres and build an incredibly successful brand and business that's okay not all of us would be able to get up six days postpartum and compete in a pageant and look like a supermodel Eevee magazine just did a piece on this new controversy and their editor and chief posted about it and she said some longtime followers have pointed out that this is not her normal postpartum but that she had an obligation with this pageant yes your newborn should be your focus at this time I can't imagine wanting to take selfies yet the editor and chief literally just had a baby two weeks ago so she's kind of at the same place as Hannah is right now but hey I'm not ballerina Farm somebody likened her to watching the Olympics you know you'll never have the talent the gymnasts on the floor have but you admire them anyway everyone has different gifts and I love enjoying others talents that I don't have that is the art that we have lost Gina had a great point in her article that was the writer of the article that back in the day women didn't necessarily get to rest some went back to work immediately and yes this is elective and she's not forced to work her exited family is worth hundreds of millions but I do think that there's an appeal watching others who live lives that we don't have exactly it's a fantasy some people watch the Kardashians and watch them Drive their Bentley and you know they travel around to Aman jiri and all of the resorts that they go to and some of us watch ballerina farm and like I said earlier the way they share their experiences and the love that they have for one another their work and their family is infectious and honestly I think gives people an escape from the rat race Suburban City Life that most of us are living and that is not a bad thing I will never say that that is a bad thing we need these types of high achieving Elite individuals to inspire us and be Trends seters whether they are Olympic athletes or whether they are homesteading ballerina influencers we need these types of people to look up to and if I had to choose between telling you to watch the Kardashians and idolize them or watch ballerina Farm it would be ballerina Farm all the way well guys I hope you liked this episode make sure that you like this video subscribe to this channel if you have not already and if you want
