Why ROBLOX admins gave a troll his own Dominus

welcome to the first episode of my new series the depths of Roblox in this series that I will likely forget I started after I finish this video I'm going to be taking a look at forgotten Trends historical events and more from roblox's history dating as far back as early 2013 a weird Trend started growing from a small corner of the Roblox Community called orbang popularized by the user tin foil bot orb games were a style of Obi games on Roblox made with absurd stories characters poor grammar and crude Ms paint drawings today I want to talk about this mostly forgotten Roblox community and much of the lore that surrounds its creator and how a user thought by many to be a troll was popular enough in the community to have a Dominus maid in his honor by shedletsky in August of 2010 an account named plasticine was created after the owner's brother had begged him to join even buying Robux in Builders club for him to make his first experiences with the platform better this was a very strange period for the company as Roblox wasn't garnering that much traction at the time development-wise Roblox was quite primitive in comparison to 2023 and the community was quite different and a lot of junk or click bait games would get on the front page only lasting a few days maximum I'm just saying this is different to now when it's mostly the same games on the front page that have been there for months back then these would probably last days because they were not very good there's a reason we have never heard of truckers in teens 3. this was back when the game was only available on Windows computers and this was before commercials or advertisements on other websites were Run for the website plasticine's account was later renamed to just plows and I'll be referring to him as plastic or plaz or just tin foilbot's creator for the rest of the video plus who was about 17 or 18 at the time created an all account named tin foil about in October of 2011 using froth's Archive of the now deleted Roblox forms were able to see that tin foil boss started out as an account for messing with people on the forms claiming his dad was builderman claiming to own a Dominus a domino crown and a banhammer before deleting all of them all at the age of 9 years old this kind of behavior especially the my dad is David bizuki so don't bully me or he'll get you banned kind of Trey it was quite common around this time especially from new users users would feed into these joke posts by suddenly getting aggressive and trying to disprove what tinfo about was saying with this post about a new hacking group called 0x0x0 from 2012 that would delete people's boats and build a boat and sail being a good example of this vampire pirate 97 says if you're an admin then why don't you ban them tin foil bath response starts with I forgotten how to do that starting in the last months of that year tin foil belt would start uploading poorly made clothing drawn entirely in Ms paint later advertising it on the forums in October tin foil bot made a form Thread about the rarest mystery items that he owned including the deadly dark Hammer which can't be searched the super mod maker which was made by telemon himself and can make anyone a moderator but tinfo bot deleted it the black dark Dominus which gives you a real life curse and a banhammer 1x1x1 which can ban every Roblox account especially now anyone with a functioning brain would be able to tell that this is all a joke but that didn't happen in 2012 after this tin foil bot having a secret hat called The Deadly dark Dominus that has no other owners became a recurring gag tin foil about would also claim he was the most famous Roblox player which was a character trait that would reappear time and time again these joke posts were baiting form users into saying some pretty mean stuff and judging by the amount of content deleted posts I'm seeing it wasn't pretty and to this day tin foil bot's account bio claims he's the most famousist on Roblox the owner of the tinfoil about account would make one crucial mistake in 2011 though accidentally revealing his true identity on his main account the owner would promote the tin foilbot account accidentally leaving the question mark NL equals true query at the end of the URL in the form post which signifies that the person sharing the link had logged into the account only a few form users would notice this and they thread the incident occurred on would be forgotten a lot of the same trolling type Behavior would be Amplified in January 2013 when tin foil boss started posting satirical Roblox videos to YouTube under the same name along with tin foil bot's clothing in early videos tin foil boss started a fan group in late 2012 which has nearly 10 000 members as of 2023. in March of 2013 tin foil bot started publishing satirical Obby games called orb games with Ms paint drawings for textures and breathtaking cut scenes unveiling a poorly written and very loose story these usually follow tinfoil about being captured by a character called The Apprentice and now you have to save them by completing a poorly thrown together obstacle course these were a part of a series called The Dark Orb which would popularize the tinforbot character even further it's clear these games were parodies of stuff like the the old and quite low quality who killed Builder man type Obby games that were far too common on Roblox back in the early 2010s between March and December of 2013 tinfoil about made 10 of these games with new characters being introduced in each such as the demon spider Vaude green and whatever this is these games often had loads of badges to hunt for most of which were hidden in plain sight and contained very obviously satirical quote scary elements David Caesar's in the Roblox Community like merely Kenneth 97 and shotletsky were talking about his videos and by April of 2013 tin foil bot was putting fan art galleries at the start of each of his games he also started publishing trailers for his upcoming Dark Orb games around this time and did two q and A's on his channel one of which having a voiceover from the man himself hello everyone this is the actual reality [Music] into it Egypt on April fools 2013 a bunch of users on the Roblox Forum started to panic believing that the famous users Mecca waffle peace pod and merely had all been hacked by tin foil bar this is because of one piece of fan art that Mecca waffle Drew and the comments that other users mentioned made below it this caused a lot of people to believe that tin foil about was some sort of self-promoting hacker though it's obvious that merely and other relatively popular Roblox users saw that tinfoil bot's entire Persona was for laughs and were going along with it acting like he was the most famous user ever like he said we also have to take into account this was exactly one year after the famous April Fool's 2012 hack occurred where multiple notable developers and moderators had their accounts hacked such as Minish R17 Rhys mcblocks stealth pilot stickmaster Luke and one death two people didn't want a repeat of last year and seeing all the posts about Mecca waffle and merely being hacked people started mass reporting tin foil bot's account and as a result he was banned temporarily for a long while it was assumed by Form users that Newton for about was some sort of troll account that his true identity was either merely Mecca waffle or maximum ADHD tin foilbot's Creator Joss plus wasn't popular on Roblox under his main Alias and it wasn't known to the public he was the creator of tinfoil by yet it was theorized by many that tin foil bought was merely secret account for trolling the forms as merely had promoted the account and YouTube channel as far back as March 2013. in 2014 merely claimed that tin foil bot was another user named Mecca waffle though this was obviously false I think some of the funniest parts of tinfoil about the story are the obviously tongue-in-cheek Creepypastas he made especially Melvin Melvin was a joke Creepypasta video posted by tinfo in November 2013 about a half transparent Shaggy retexture hat with the soul of a deceased 11 year old boy in it for some reason almost a decade later this Creepy Pasta became relevant again on Tick Tock when people started making videos about a curse first game with the same half transparent Shaggy that would like curse you in real life or something if you played the game often linking it to an unrelated Roblox account of the same name saying the owner of that account will find out where you live or something even though he probably hasn't logged in in 13 years I have no idea why this decade-old satirical Creepypasta came back from the dead but I do find it funny seeing kids getting scared by it nowadays throughout 2014 while tin foil bot was in his current peak in popularity he would claim to quit Roblox a few different times with the final one being in September 2014 with some people he was affiliated with even claiming he was leaving forever due to an unspecified heart disease shortly before tin foil bot left Roblox a YouTube channel was opened named tinfoil bot truth the only video on it is a seven minute monologue of sorts about his creator and the story behind the account completely out of character the Creator explains it was all for Laughs people like shed let's get bought and want in foil bought clothing on multiple occasions giving the character a boost in popularity he also explains that the dark warp games also weren't created in a mocking way or in any attempt to criticize poorly made story-based army games of the early 2010s the creator doesn't give away his identity just yet only saying he's an electronic music producer from the UK who is definitely not nine years old which doesn't really narrow it down over time the reaction of the tin foil block character did change from complete hate to knowing it was parody but acting like he was some sort of rebel against all things the Roblox Community had to offer which wasn't true and plows decided it was time for tin foil about to be over what's especially weird about tinforobot's departure from the Roblox Community were the videos that tin foil bought uploaded to an all account only a month later in October 2014 a channel was opened up near Halloween of 2014 with 16 Capital eyes in a row as its name three videos were uploaded all featuring a man in a poorly made tin foil bot mask in a dark room doing a variety of things set to unnerving ambient music these videos all featured this weird a capital I spaced out like this and to be honest I don't know if these were even meant to mean anything when they were made or if the videos were just meant to scare people earlier this year YouTubers like flush green Lego cats123 and nexter V start talking about these weird videos bringing more attention to them years later though it's almost entirely certain that these mean absolutely nothing and we're just meant to scare people following in tin foilbot's footsteps an entire orb game Community would spawn on Roblox starting in mid-2013 and it was active until around 2017 to 2018. these people would usually copy tinfo-bot's signature traits as well as creating fan orb game series in 2016 tin foilback came back to everyone's surprise new games were opened up on the account named Nemesis ghost train Santa's boat ride 1 and 2 all of which being either Halloween themed or Christmas themed cart ride games with the same absurdist humor and strange character seen in the previous Dark Orb games these are not tin foilbot's most popular games ever some of them having upwards of 300 000 visits you could see a very clear upgrade in quality and it was very clear much more effort had been put into making these games in 2018 people in the Orban Community started to take note of this accusing plastic info about the creator of only continuing the tinfo ball Persona as a way to make money in July that year members of the orb game Community would group together to get plus to retire the Alias and death definitely he posted one last announcement on his fan group telling fans that he had been grounded forever leaked the unfinished Dark Orb 11 game on a burner alt account and left Roblox for good kind of in 2019 the legendary deadly dark Dominus inside Joe cap mentioned on the forums nearly seven years earlier would become a real thing the actual Dominus itself was given to 28 people who attended a Roblox panel at Comic-Con San Diego in 2019 and a hat named the DIY deadly dark Dominus featuring a poorly made drawing of a deadly dark Dominus on a paper bag was put on sale for a short time after tinfoy about would make a post on Twitter celebrating the hats release and in 2023 tin foil about would come back and make very subtle changes to older games and private Santa's boat ride too the deadly dark Dominus is a completely different design than the original one seen in 2013 videos in comparison to the real version which is red and I think the funniest part about all this is that tinfoil bar never even got the Dominus he only has the paper bag version the texture for the Dominus was made by shedletsky who had already resigned from his position as creative director at ROBLOX five years prior he'd even work at ROBLOX anymore and he came back just to make this Dominus despite some of the controversies towards the end of tinforobot's time on Roblox in recent years tin fobot has become a beloved Roblox meme to a small chunk of the community that was the history of tin foil bot in the deadly dark Dominus thank you for watching and I'll see you next time [Music] thank you
