child cries out in agony a whale of loss that is so rarely felt as an entire world shatters a feeling of total isolation as death becomes the thing propelling your life forward in that moment clutching onto the last remaining pearl of that life so quickly taken away from you the darkness starts to creep in for the very first time the idea of Vengeance the thoughts of what you would do if this ever happened to anyone else all you feel is alone and scared until a hand reaches out someone who has been there someone who knows they can help someone who knows exactly what that fear feels like and has made it their mission to bring that fear into the lives of criminals into a war that has no end and now you've officially been drafted this pain this shared trauma is a bond that unites Batman and Robin two orphans always crying out for the lives they will never get to have but Robin is different than Batman Robin has the potential to become something more something better but also Robin compliments Batman in ways that are hard to describe to a modern audience because the last time we got to see the dynamic duo be together was in a movie most people really don't want to think about I always apologize I thought at the time this was going to be a very good career move um it wasn't Robin is not the child lock being put on Batman it is the next step in the evolution of character and now rumor has it we might get to finally see this again as it's being reported by a reputable scooper we're going to see Robin in Matt Reeves is the Batman part two and look it's a rumor do with it what you will but if that's true man am I so pumped it's been a long time coming and it needs to happen and I want to stay pumped for all the news we'll be getting up until the Batman part video Robin not only makes Batman become much closer to a symbol of Hope than a pure symbol of fear but it represents that loss of Innocence that Bruce had to give up on having presumably Dick Grayson also be a part of the story forces Bruce out of his shell he has to come to terms with the new responsibilities he has to face and that can greatly complement his bigger Arc of not only spending time as the Batman he needs to be Bruce Wayne in order for Gotham to truly heal this has always been the point of Robin to help Bruce find that hope dick very easily could have been another Bruce Wayne another Batman another rage-fueled Vengeance but he's not and it's because Bruce exists he's there to prevent dick from making the same mistakes he did as any older brother or father figure would by allowing us to see Bruce's transformation into a symbol of Hope by seeing him at his lowest and most angry in the Batman we've seen him mature and while his growing still isn't finished we know how Bruce can help make things easier for kids like him like a Dick Grayson so dick can become better than he ever was I mean arguably dick in the comics became better than Bruce and it's why AI he was able to go off on his own as Nightwing Bruce learned the hard way dick doesn't have to that is the true impact someone like Bruce can have on someone like a Dick Grayson and hopefully many other kids throughout the city who are going through similar issues dick as Nightwing especially is able to master the duality of his life much easier and much better than Bruce Wayne he isn't a loner he understands how to have relationships and be a hero it also allows Bruce to be less of a loner and have actual social interactions with someone other than himself or Alfred or Gordon as Batman he can truly be himself Embrace both halves of his personality which is something I'm assuming Matt Reeves is going to explore in the Batman part two given the fact that in the Batman Bruce mostly neglected his real life Persona wasn't doing enough as Bruce Wayne didn't know how to talk to people because he was just a scared kid hiding behind the mask having someone like Dick Grayson in his life that he can share all of himself with can allow him to better understand who he is and the problems that he's been burying for so long all of this allows Bruce to turn Batman from a weapon of pure fear into a tool of empathy taking on the responsibility of having this child in his life creates a problem that has to be solved in a unique way for Bruce just as any parent is forced to get their together and grow up once they have a child Bruce undergoes that transformation even if they play it more like an older sibling almost peers like they did in the Adam West series which I really kind of hope they do there is a natural inclination to protect that arises when you have someone else's life to look after also so given the idea of fear that's at the hearts of patents's Batman fear of loss after seeing Alfred almost die fear of his own self forsaking the city adding dick or just Robin in general into the mix instills a greater sense of fear and protectiveness into Bruce it tethers him to the people being directly affected by his actions or lack of actions it creates tension in Stakes causing Bruce to up his game and be better so as to not let anything happen to dick or people like him this is already the points of the Reeves Batman movies how can Batman be more human how can he be a hero for the people of Gotham instead of a symbol of fear for just the criminals the first film shows us this Evolution between the first and last times Batman interacts with a civilian even though he saves that man from getting mugged after he gets off the train the man is still terrified of Bruce Batman is nothing but terrifying he is a symbol of fear he's not a hero at that point then at the end when he's helping the woman get airlifted she clings to him she clings onto the hope the symbol that Batman has given her for the first time we're getting to see Batman become the hero he was always destined to become and to continue down that path of being a hero of the people Robin has always been a crucial step for Bruce in the original Batman comics if you can actually believe it Batman killed people he carried a gun and didn't care what happened to his foes but once Robin was brought into the fold he stopped his values became what we know Batman to carry today the rumors have said that they are sort of Reinventing the origin of Dick Grayson I'm sure many people know the origin of Robin but since there's like a million Robins out there here's a quick refresher especially for dick racing dick was a circus acrobat with his family they performed every night at Haley's circus as the flying graysons one night's a mob hit was carried out by Tony Zuko cutting the ropes that suspended the graysons in the air and sending them plummeting to their deaths dick was crushed but in the audience was Bruce Wayne who connected with the boy he understands the pain he is going through and so he adopts the young boy and starts to go out in the night as Batman to find the boy's parents killer eventually he brings dick into the fold as Robin to Aid in his Crusade on crime and the rest is history based on what we have seen in the first film here I think this is the first step of allowing Bruce to open up more and have a small bat family we've seen that Matt Reeves takes a lot of inspiration from the Adam West show so by the end of this series we might see Batman Robin and even Batgirl on the screen together I could also see him another scenario where similar to what Christopher Nolan Did in the Dark Knight Rises because Bruce has been neglecting his Bruce Wayne persona for so long there are orphans like him who have suffered as a result and someone like a Dick Grayson could call into question Bruce's lack of nobility lack of action the comic Matt Reeves has pointed to as being where he is drawing the most from for his version of Robin is Batman Dark Victory a sequel to The Long Halloween furthering the story of Two-Face this story makes sure to draw parallels between the death of the Waynes and the death of the graysons but other than that it's a pretty faithful version of the robin origin but we've seen this before it's not much of a reinvention and honestly that's fine by me the origin story of Robin is Iconic for a reason and within the world of the Batman it doesn't feel out of place in fact in Dark Victory the mob is directly tied to the death of the graysons and the story is dealing directly with the power struggle of the two mafia families in Gotham the Falcons and moronis after the death of Carmine Falcone an event we saw in the Batman this war is obviously going to be fleshed out a lot in the upcoming penguin show but the power struggle is going to play a role in the sequel they could do something a bit different and take inspiration from other robins and crafting this world's Dick Grayson what if they mixed in elements of Jason Todd into this origin I don't know the last time you've been to the circus but it isn't the draw used to be in the year of Our Lord 2023. so maybe the graysons run a gymnastics school that is struggling they could have ties to the Mob just like the Waynes do in the first film they could owe the mob money for helping to keep them afloat offering protection you know a bunch of other stuff once his parents are killed Dick could go into full survival mode so instead of immediately getting adopted by by Bruce maybe he runs off he takes to the streets and gets by the only way he knows he can even though they aren't fully legal this could all lead to Dick trying to seal the wheels off the Batmobile just as Jason did in his origin comic and from there Batman takes him in this gives Bruce a chance to not only help dick but also further his perspective he wants to help the citizens of Gotham but as for criminals he is ready to do whatever it takes to put them behind bars if dick has to resort to Crime just to survive how is this going to weigh on Bruce's mind though the world is painted in Shades of Gray it's far more complicated Batman has always seen things in black and white that's why Jason has always been such a great compliment to Batman Also let's be real for a second we aren't going to be seeing other Robins in this world the series would have to go on for a very long time to get to the point where Bruce even gets a second Robin so allowing dick to have traits of all of them can further our story in a million different ways Robin for years has been brushed off as something ridiculous just an unnecessary silly sidekick that doesn't need to happen by so-called fans of Batman but that's never been the case just like the argument we had in our Clayface video the world of Batman is that of fantastic things coming to life like a billionaire who cares about other people adding Robin to this world as a kid as the light to Batman's Darkness can do so much for the story of Robert Pattinson's Batman and it's something that Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves have expressed interest in doing seeing the two work together to overcome their trauma is going to be a beautiful journey to see unfold on the screen and finally after 20 years because really for as great as he is Joseph Gordon-Levitt doesn't count I mean he's technically Robin but he's not really Robin we will finally you get to see the most iconic pair in comic book history B the dynamic duo once again foreign foreign [Music]
