[Music] Islam in Philippines since 1380 through an Indonesian migrant of minaba desent named Raja bagindo and a Persian Islamic cleric kimal mum it is said that Raja bagindo was a member of the pagarung Kingdom family Islam was first spread in Mindanao Island and Sulu Island the two regions with the largest Muslim population in the Philippines means in 2002 president Gloria makapal aroyo declared Aid Alfa a national holiday which could be considered a special gift to the Muslim Community in the Philippines to reinforce the decision president Ayo made it into law after this decision Islam spread like wildfire before 2000 it would be hard to find a place of worship for Muslims in Manila however that is not the case now for for example when traveling to the capital city of Manila it is not difficult to find mosques suras or prayer rooms alongside beautifully designed churches when it is time for a prayer the call to prayer Azan can be heard from various corners of Manila especially in coastal areas around Manila Bay such as herita and intramuros which are populated by local Muslim communities and immigrants [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] all [Music] [Music] in recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of Filipinos embracing Islam but what's driving this trend let's delve into the reasons behind the growing conversion to Islam in the Philippines City I am 39 years of age I converted Islam for one year I converted Islam because my life is lacking at that time is terrible then I F I want to fulfill and I want to go straight alhamdulillah now I become straight inshah more knowledge coming for me for Allah um my life since a Christians uh is not totally fulfilled with but we have only one from up allow God the same exactly but during my Christian life I don't know I cannot directly straight to praise to pray with him but since when I converted in Islam my life is become meaningful even though he given me trials for one year I have so many trials for that one year he give it to me problems coming coming coming my work problem family problem especially the financial because we are here for work but alhamdulillah step by step there is a problem it will be solved again there is another one again it will be solved the problem is will be continue but if you pray all the time with Allah it will be solved many Filipinos like our friend here are drawn to Islam for its emphasis on spirituality morality and social justice Islam Fosters a sense of community and belonging through mosques Islamic centers and social Gatherings converts find support and camaraderie [Applause] Islam provides a comprehensive framework for Life addressing various aspects such as worship family and ethics Filipinos are attracted to it Simplicity and [Applause] [Applause] practicality indeed Islam offers practical solutions to contemporary challenges guiding individuals to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives charity and compassion are integral to Islam many converts are inspired by the Islamic principle of helping those in need contributing to humanitarian efforts and Community Development yes oh this mosque was built when there was very few Muslims around so when this mosque uh was firmly established Muslim Community grew up around the M oh so so most of the resident here from from IND right uh basically most they are from Indo and some also but uh younger people may be born here oh maybe their parents originally are from mind okay that's good Islam promotes equality and justice for all converts appreciate its stance against discrimination and oppression fostering a more inclusive and harmonious Society through Islam Filipinos find empowerment and a sense of identity reclaiming their Heritage and embracing [Applause] [Music] diversity [Music] [Applause] [Music] countless individuals have transformed their lives through Islam Islam overcoming personal challenges and making positive contributions to [Music] society indeed fostering dialogue and mutual respect is key to Building Bridges of understanding and unity in conclusion the increasing conversion to Islam in the Philippines reflects a quest for spiritual fulfillment community and social justice let's Embrace diversity and celebrate the richness of our shared Humanity subscribe if you have enjoyed this video and don't forget to like comment and share as it will help the YouTube algorithm to promote this video to other audiences consider this as an act of sadaka until next time stay vigilant
