Slow Down slow down that's way too fast you maniac got some salty hair going on because we just took a ferry from Copan to surani not just a ferry first a taxi then two stretches of fairies then a bus and then another taxi and then we arrive here hey this is our last full day in Thailand now to be precise we have actually been in Thailand for two months and we just love it here yeah exactly just has everything that you could want from any destination great food great people great internet great weather better done in Germany so in summary Thailand is the whole package and it's really really hard to beat the life you can have there but Thailand is kicking us out because our Visa is expiring and we need to leave so we picked a new location and it's going to be Vietnam so how is Vietnam going to compare to Thailand are we going to like it there only one way to find out right the next time you'll see us we'll be in Vietnam welcome to D oh Danang is the largest city and Commercial and educational Hub of central Vietnam home to just over a million people coming from our cozy jungle bungalow on a laidback tropical island we were suddenly surrounded by busy streets and thousands of living spaces and anxiously looking down from our high-rise Hotel scary oh my God that was now supposed to become our new home this was going to take some getting used to we arrived in this crazy City yesterday and it's quite the contrast and we did already find an amazing restaurant in which we can introduce you to one of Vietnam's most iconic [Music] Foods it might be the most mispronounced word in and outside Vietnam but I'm going to try it anyways fur is a soup dish made from broth rice noodles herbs and proteins that you can find on almost every street corner anyone visiting the country should try this delicious Vietnamese specialty at least that's what I expected it to be please note there are no Forks provided here go Vietnamese or go home so flavorful and you're supposed to put these fresh herbs into there don't know if this is how you do it but them in there if this was just the beginning of our food Journey here we couldn't wait to try more but almost just as exciting was what we noticed when the bill came what you really notice about Vietnam is that food is very affordable this whole f we just had was4 including one drink and then afterwards we got this coconut coffee this was 60 cents this is crazy right 17,000 bong even compared to Thailand this is a crazy affordable place on the topic of beans what is up with all those cafes surrounding us turns out Vietnam has an Exquisite and elaborate coffee scene and we're going to show you just how good it is is here in Danang if you dare to cross the street with us can you look a bit less gangster getting to my favorite place in theang now yeah also my favorite place [Music] really oh that was easy sweetie where are we going your favorite Cafe so far which is favorite because very cozy and the coffee is amazing and the owner is really nice as [Music] well the great thing about coffee time in Vietnam is that you also get a nice free tea on the side as well as delicious breakfast for a small price no wonder this became our favorite Cafe during our first few days we were introduced to the coffee you'll find almost everywhere to the unseasoned Foreigner's mouth it may be quite unusual at first oh it's strong today but delicious so weird to have like a coconut flavor in coffee but it works so well [Music] It is believed that French missionaries introduced coffee plants in Vietnam in the mid 1800s and over the next decades coffee plantations began to grow in the country's Highlands and a coffee industry started to Boom in Vietnam's ideal tropical climate today Vietnam is the second largest coffee producer in the world after Brazil no wonder they are so good at this and if you think coconuts and coffee is the best combination you will find here you are wrong coffe fresh coffee just tastes amazing just tastes like salted caramel toffee or something I really enjoyed it's a little bit like lot ofu try oh yeah we are enjoying these coffees here so much and we haven't even tried them all yet that's how good the Vietnamese are at Coffee we are currently still on the mission to try every type of coffee that Vietnam offers there are as many as the countless cozy cafes in [Music] theang and after visiting a whole lot of those we can only come to one Saucy conclusion man Vietnamese coffee is just delicious and they're so creative with the milk different types of fruit go in there I don't know I'm going to say something outrageous I feel like having traveled in Italy a lot that maybe Vietnamese coffee and the way they made it their own might be even leveling with Italian coffee oh if not better oh what do you think I refuse to make a statement okay it allent you can all roast me in the comments I have no problem with that exploring danang's coffee scene made us realize just how green the city's tranquil quarters are but like in any other modern Asian Metropolis this Serenity Fades as soon as you approach the bigger roads and their NeverEnding stream of cars buses and motorbikes crossing a busy street in Vietnam is a notoriously frantic task also because zebra Crossings have lost all meaning but we believe that only by becoming part of it you can really appreciate the city and we chose the coolest vehicle to do [Music] so [Music] [Music] we're not just traveling Vietnam we're traveling in sty with our 80s Honda cup or super cup I'm not sure but uh we learned about these types of scooters because of an anime and since then I was like yeah we should get that so here we are how old is this one again this from the 80s I think the frame but they replaced some parts yeah so cool motorbikes are one of the most common modes of Transport here and we were told that they can live long lives being passed on from generation to generation but joining this chaotic traffic in which accidents happen often definitely made us I mean me a bit nervous it all seemed pretty easy and entertaining gaining until we hit the first intersection oh my goodness go down go down that's way too fast Maniac I didn't know you fil that I did look at that sun though oh iing love it oh my goodness why did the I don't know wow look at [Music] that [Music] [Music] amazing we just crossed Dong's iconic piece of infrastructure the Dragon Bridge and we're now cruising down what the city considers to be its most glamorous [Music] street but once you turn into one of the side streets high-rise luxury hotels make room for what looks a lot more like downtown [Music] Danang much like the Dutch and their use of bikes the Vietnamese seem to be convinced that nothing is too big or too too crazy to be carried on a scooter that sheer commitment made me feel a little bit more at home but feeling confident as a passenger on this bike was going to take a lot more Crossings time for some well earned yummy Vietnamese food we tried a special local dish that night called mwang that is apparently served often on special occasions the special occasion being we survived our first night drive and loved our new bike sweetie very good driving you did thanks yeah oh my God that was hectic we have to decompress from this experience now let's take a let's take a decompression stop at floor six oh and I gotta say Vietnamese food as far as we've tasted it so delicious it's so light it's so healthy with all the fresh herbs and um other vegetables I love it so far what do you think yeah I I enjoy it a lot and all the vegan restaurants and all the like different types of Veggie protein it's just so nice Tha you just had soy and here you have like everything and even so many local noodle shops that offer vegetarian options which is great that's what I love about the city yeah how much did we just pay for dinner I think it was 50,000 for one noodle soup which is all together we paid €4 for two soups and two drinks yeah come on come on come on that means thank you thank you for bringing that up because we need to dive a bit deeper into Vietnamese cuisine to show you why it was worth it to come to Vietnam we're taking you along to a cozy family run restaurant where you feel like you're eating in the extension of someone's home and are served by Grandma babe what do you think of Vietnamese food um yeah so far we've had really good food really good coffee I really can't complain highest German possible praise me look at this presentation it's like little orange and peppers here and then there's a little sauce come I think this is for the spring rolls oh this looks so good when I was younger living in the Netherlands Vietnamese spring rolls was kind of the only thing I knew about Vietnam we always used to eat them um on the markets on on Saturday or Sunday with really spicy sauce or like spicy for Dutch people and now we're eating them in Vietnam even though they were originally brought to Vietnam by Chinese immigrants oh my God so flavorful I can't believe this is vegetarian you should try this like no okay give me your best slurp you want my best slurp yes we do oh my God not me first of all check it out how I'm handling these sticks M and for our last course we visited a homemade sweet shop that sells a particular dessert that is much beloved by Vietnamese people German sausage have F I was pretty sure we were going to like this treat even though I wasn't sure what we were going to eat exactly this is what I think is coconut milk with a variety of fruit jellies and apparently you can make it as cold as you want M it's like bubble tea but then better like the whole dessert so always announce that you're coming towards a crossroad here in Vietnam yeah this is [Music] amazing one of the reasons that we chose Danang as a destination is because it's at the beach and we happen to be here for a very special [Music] event welcome to danang's Long sandy beach where you can come to unwind after a long day and enjoy tasty snacks from one of the many food trucks dotted along the strip we enjoyed this laidback area a lot just nor and although it doesn't beat the paradise likee turquoise Waters of the Gulf of Thailand danong does have something else and we were here to witness one of danang's first ever big surfing competitions got rer orang outside [Music] with the Surfers are going to make their way to the beach get the drop can he make the [Music] section there blue it is our first place getting cheered up the beach by Brad un three two one well that's uh that surfing competition the other day was really fun and really unique to witness that right yeah that's really cool so if you're still here and you liked the video give us a like and consider subscribing to come along on our Nomad trip around Asia and God knows where else helps a lot lot for the algorithm so if you have two seconds yeah exactly so I really like Danang it's super chill the people are super friendly the food is nice the coffee is great and it's just amazing to go down to the beach and just run there and you see like dozens of Runners and yeah so in summary I think danong is a really liveable city and just a great entrylevel way to get to know Vietnam even though I'm not the biggest city girl he is the city boy but I'm the country girl I could live here for a couple of weeks and it was fun it was nice but unfortunately Vietnam is also kicking us out I could only get a 30-day Visa so on Sunday we are changing countries again we would have loved to stay longer and just see other places yeah but because Vietnam is so huge and we've only seen one city so how much can you really say about a country EXA definitely I'm really excited about our next video might not be the best time of the year to visit but I think it might be the best time to visit I guess you can you have to watch the next video and judge for yourselves yeah spoiler it will be the biggest party of the Year here in Vietnam and it's happening tonight [Music] holy that is a sick VI
