I quit Mouse Excel after not only using it for six months myself but also creating videos that taught hundreds of thousands of people how to set it up here's why first of all when the player base of rock cell users shifted from mainly Kovacs players with at least some experience to valorant casuals I noticed a lot of major issues in raw XL the first is that roxell was no longer seen as just the setting it was seen as a way to get good instantly I feel my attempts to make cool video titles kind of cause this and even if I did cause it it's still an issue people wanted their aim to just magically become better Rock cell could make certain things easier when set up correctly but it could not spawn skill in if you start with an inability to aim and then make the targets feel 20 percent bigger and 20 closer on your mouse pad you still won't have the ability to aim just because something became easier doesn't mean it will substitute for your complete lack of skill so what would happen is these people would turn on Mouse Excel and see some benefits it would help but then after a few games they'd realize they still don't have tenza's aim in the past I've had the same mindset I genuinely believe that one point that my aim was only bad because I did something wrong not because I had no practice in this wrong world view when you make a settings change that helps a bit as it's supposed to but doesn't help a ton that means you need to invest further into those settings aim is a skill that requires a lot of effort to learn and it's also only a small factor in most games no amount of her lack of excel can make aim effortless but in the world view of these people they just needed better Excel when the mouse Excel was at its peak in searches and getting so much attention I would get like 20 DMS every single day about how to do raw Excel settings it got to the point where people would even offer me money even offered to buy an entire aim coaching session just for the sake of me setting up their Mouse Excel these were the same people who expect every Mouse to fix their name and every sentence change to make them and incredible and did not care about working to improve their aim also most of the people who got live coaching sessions for the sake of mouse Excel actually already had perfectly fine Mouse Excel settings their skill was bad and they just needed to train after a few sessions of live rocks I'll set up with coaching I realized that the people who wanted the coaching just for the sake of excel did not care about being coached or working for improvement in my opinion these people don't need coaching waste my time and also aren't fun to work with so I just began rejecting all the people who wanted help with mouse Excel no matter how much they offered when Excel was primarily used by experienced Kovacs players and their followers this was not an issue the players promoted working towards higher skill levels and the followers knew Excel wouldn't give them thousands of hours of practice but this doesn't affect me I knew Excel wouldn't instantly give me thousands of hours of practice so why did I personally quit Beyond just the principle of not liking what it's done to the Valerian Community well Excel is complicated and confusing if you try to improve your aim or change your approach you will need to change your settings I found as I tried to slow down or speed up my flicks my Excel felt unplayable the more I practiced and got better the more my Pace would change and the more I would need to find new Excel settings at one point I decided to experiment with smoother flex and they didn't activate the Excel I tried to make faster flicks and my Excel didn't work again different styles of aiming require different Excel curves so if changing approach and improving in skill means that you'll need new mouse Excel settings that means that if you're someone who trains you will need new mouse Excel settings a lot if you have to constantly stop your training just to do mouse Excel settings that will get really annoying if you can't use any settings in a game and be fine but instead you actually have to look at what you're using and think about it intensely that'll get really annoying if you constantly find yourself having to adapt to new mouse Excel curves then you guessed it that'll get really annoying so at this point I was starting to feel like the cons of mouse Excel were starting to outweigh the pros I also found my flick style was developing around the Excel curve my hand would try to get to the cap speed as quickly as possible which I believe was causing relatively shaky flicks if the Excel was set up differently this wouldn't be an issue but to be able to both hit counter-stratific enemies in like Valor and CS go and also make wide angle flicks your Excel should have an offset in my opinion but that's not all towards the end of August I got really into precise tracking for like a week or two it just so happened that with my curves scenarios like pgti would stay in the offset the entire time so even though Excel is normally sub-optimal for these kinds of scenarios I had no issues because nothing was accelerating but that also meant that I went like a week or two without using Mouse Excel however after those two weeks I started to play a few games of Valor and some more flick based scenarios I rarely struggled with reading the curve and aiming with it after not using it for like a week or two became an extremely hard to adjust to excel unless I committed to just playing flick based scenarios with the Curve on and not shutting it off I didn't want to quit precise tracking so as a result I was pushed over the edge and I quit Mouse Excel this definitely contrasts with my previous experiences of turning on Excel and seeing instant high scores and I'm not quite sure why one Theory I have is that when I first turn on Excel I was worse at Aim so my intuition and just kind of knowing where my Crosshair was without actually seeing where it was was less of a factor and I was more focused on reacting to my crosshairs position but as I got better my aim became more intuitive so a complex change in my settings like adding a mouse Excel curve that I'm no longer used to could seriously hurt my aim obviously I don't mean permanently hurting my skill or like reducing its level but just giving me a longer forced adjustment period that I wouldn't have had five months ago when I switched to excel the first time you're probably wondering two things right now one do I renounce any of the things I've said in previous videos and two how does this affect you as some like Valor and one trick who care less about aim trainer scores or precise tracking I would say that the only stance that I no longer really agree with is adjusting to excel when you go from no Rock cell to rock cell it is kinda hard especially if you depend a lot on intuition it isn't like a year or a month of adjustment but it honestly might take a few days maybe a week depending on who you are the longer you go without excela the worse I believe the adjustment will be I also think it's possible that if you frequently switch between different Excel settings you might be more able to handle frequent Excel switches and more adaptable because of that but I really don't know if this is true a lot of people who change their sense frequently tend to feel like it's easy while people who don't change their sense very often usually don't feel this way is this a placebo or is there an actual adaptability being learned and if you are learning adaptability could the same thing be applied to Mouse Excel I don't know so let's say you don't really care about good aiming you just want to be able to perform better in valern I would still honestly stay away from Mouse Excel with one exception if you've decided your aim skill level and your aim style are both fine and all you need to do to hit your goals is just improve your game sense and you have no plans on making your aim faster or more precise anytime soon then be my guest and use Mouse Excel you won't need to change your settings but if you're taking steps to improve your aim rapidly I don't think spending the time creating new curves is really worth it but it's also not really detrimental especially if you find you have an easy time switching between curves so feel free to use Excel if you like it I want to put all my attention into getting skill and not settings but if you want to use Excel honestly it probably is better than a flat sense and it definitely holds a lot of clear advantages over one so feel free to do so if you want to know more about those advantages you can check out this video subscribe thanks
