we had a pretty high wind recently or you know a good storm anyway on Sunday night and these shingles blew off of this ridge cap right here here are the ones that blew off and what we see is that the reason they came off is when the wind comes across the surface like this and it goes over one of these humps it creates more lift catches the edge of these as you can see because they're not able to seal down and what holds them down is if the nails are in the correct location that these nails are not there they're nailed to high they should have been down here so they catch the top of the shingle below so you can see if I us that these like so like they would be installed if you put the nail on the nail on down here right there then you hit the top of the shingle and you go through two layers and the nail can hold better verses because the edge of roofing nails are sharp you can also see they're set in too deep they were hammered in too deep and these are gonna pull off also so it's so the repair we're gonna need to fix this side right here but this has to do with installation we always tell folks that you know the workmanship is the key not the product you can take a perfectly good product and it's not gonna do you a whole lot of good if it's not installed properly so just want to point that out because the same thing can be done with the shingles if they're high nailed they're gonna slide out or blow off in a storm so I just want to point that out for you so it's important to use someone you can trust thank you
