Why did I buy the Kubota Grand L4760?

what's happening you guys I'm Mitchell with mythical Outdoor Services right here in Colfax North Carolina thanks for tuning in to the channel today so behind me as the title suggests we're talking about the Kubota Grand L 4760 right here I purchased this thing a year ago last summer 2022 and I've been asked multiple times why did I purchase this tractor instead of or in lieu of other equipment I.E tracker skid steer Okay so instead of just answering that question all the freaking time figured I would do a little video on it just take a couple minutes and go over some talking points as to why I purchased this tractor instead of a track or skid steer you might be in the same situation as I so just going to walk around this thing quickly it is warm here in the shop I've got the door shut so you don't get the the blowout from the light so you can see a little bit better but anyways let's dive into why I purchased the grand L 4760 instead of a track steer hey you guys want to interrupt L 4760 just a real quick synopsis of this tractor it is a four-wheel drive cab tractor with the la-1055 loader so it'll lift about 2300 pounds so it doesn't have the lifting capacity of some of the you know bigger skid steers this is a 4760 like I've said numerous times already granddale 4760 so it's a 47 horsepower tractor the 60 series what makes it the grand L the grand L all the grandels are cab tractors and has a little bit more of the what I would call you know Creature Comforts for the operator the seat you know tilt steering column and I'm not going to go into all the features but there's more features centered around the operator in the grand L as opposed to like your MX series okay they're a little bit more utilitary utilitarian or utility driven you know your work tractors so now this in the lineup of things um Myanmar is over here so this is a sub compact tractor 24 horsepower and this is a compact so it's still a smaller tractor in the grand scheme of things the tires right here hopefully you can see I'm six one six two and they come up to about like my mid torso okay so it's not like a huge ag tractor where it's like six foot or six foot higher tires what differentiates it's from from other tractors is it's not as heavy either so the one of the reasons I'm gonna give several hopefully and this is not scripted so I'm just kind of blabbing along um but I just mentioned the weight of it the reason one of the reasons why I chose this over a skid steer is weight this is much lighter than some of your skid steers like a 70 or 90 horse skid steer you know some of them things weigh 9 10 12 000 pounds and up and this with the loader fluid fill tires I believe it's right in the neighborhood of like four to five thousand pounds so why is that a good thing and why is that a reason why I purchased the tractor well the services that I'm offering I still plan on doing Turf surfaces Services meaning you know I've got the elevator right over there you know so doing innervation and overseeding Services I still want to be able to get onto people's finished Lawns and not tear up their property um you know we all know that doing work on properties would track our skid steers just the way that they turn you know they they rip okay so every time I do a job on someone's property I don't want to have to factor in Turf repair so the weight of the tractor much lighter than a Tracker skid steer and it's more Turf friendly so that's another reason why I got this and I could even take it up a notch and get the turf tires that are offered for this thing if I really wanted to take it to the next level and I did that for my Yanmar and awesome hands down one of the best modifications I did to that okay and I may do it to this in the near future they're just pricey so you know north of three grand because you have to buy all new Wheels as well so Turf friendliness and the weight of it now another reason y i got this instead of a skid or track steer cost overall the cost on this now I bought this brand new and if I was to have gotten a skid steer I was going to buy it brand new but the cost of this over a Tracker skid steer was considerably lower this tractor as you see it right now with just the loader on it no attachments this tractor was sub fifty thousand dollars and if you know anything about tracker skid steers they are not sub 50 000 they are much more expensive so I got a tool that one fit my budget and two FIT the services that I want to offer without you know tearing up properties now none of the stuff that I'm saying negates the fact that a Tracker is skid steer is an awesome machine and they are a great tool and designed to do you know specific stuff and a sister will do you know pretty much everything that this thing will do and then some you know skid steers have the the higher lifting capacity you know you can get tons of front mounted attachments for them but again I just wanted to you know get something that I knew I could get and get and afford at the time without having to go into the used Market so do I wish that the tractor would be able to lift more who wouldn't okay I would love to be able to lift the amount of weight that like you know in 90 some horsepower um svl Kubota will lift but I can't so I just have to remember that you know again this thing maxes out at right around 22 2300 pounds which is actually perfect for the services that I'm offering you know I don't need to come in and lift you know three four five thousand pound pallets of stuff so as long as I am smart about it and you know do the math I want them lifting um I'm fine with this now with that being said tractor loaders are much more further out on you know much more they stick further out on the front so you have to keep in mind ballast too so if I want to lift something heavy and I did get pallet forks for this thing if I want to lift something heavy I've got to keep that in mind you know that I need to maybe put an implement or something on the back to counter the weight the the cab on it is not a reason why I bought it because anyone knows that you can get skid and track series with cabs and AC and all that stuff so mainly it was the weight of it and the price of it so you know I would love for one day to to be able to get a skid steer but right now this is what works best for mythco outdoor and I've done a lot of things with it so I love bush hogging with it so um you know are there things that the tractor can do that a skid steer can't um I would say yeah like a lot of the now stuff that I don't do you know a lot of the Agricultural aspects you know uh crop fields and things like that and the implements that you would pull behind a tractor a skid steer is not going to be best for that because you know it's all front mounted stuff so obviously I mean that's why you don't see skid steers working out in crop fields and stuff on on farms so tractors have their place and especially the size of these things like you know my little my little Yanmar right there you know that thing only weighs 1800 pounds I can get that thing in places that you're not going to get a skid steer you know you may get a skidder track steer stuck and you're not going to with that um so anyways those are just a couple of reasons why I bought the Kubota here um I was actually looking at the l4060 when I first bought I think that was like the entry level Grand Hill but I opted for the 4760 so I've been thoroughly happy with it um are there any things I wish I could have done over again um yeah I wish I would have got or I wish I would have been able to get the L 6060 who wouldn't want more power there's been a couple times that I've been in some really really thick grass bush hogging and the six foot rotary cutter behind this thing and it really I mean really really thick grass has bogged it down a few times so maybe that extra 30 horsepower would help I don't know it could bog down the 6060 I would never know but other than that like the main stuff that I've been doing with this the bread and butter that I've been doing with this tractor is the gravel driveway repairs if you follow me along on Instagram you see that quite a bit and I've got a few videos here up on the channel as well but the main thing that I've been doing with this tractor is gravel driveway repairs and it's been awesome for that so I've got the six foot box blade and grating scraper for the back of this and it works great absolutely zero issues the AC works awesome on it you know so it's just a it's a blessing to be able to be in a climate controlled environment when it's 97 degrees outside so anyways if you're considering a tractor for your business maybe these are some things that you would want to think about over a skid steer you know if you're going to be doing grading work a tractor is not the best thing you know the the loaders you know have their limitations they're more apt to bending or like getting twisted and stuff just because you know it's just meant to like like scoop and lift it's not meant to to Really push and grade so plus where you sit in the tractor you can't see what's in front of the bucket like you can in a skid steer so if you're wondering grading work you're going to need a skid steer just my personal opinion not the best for grading anyways I love the Kubota
