Probably to save on fuel
Edit: To be honest, I thought this was kind of a dumb question, so I didn’t watch it at first. But now I finally got around to watching it, and the answer is two-fold: noise and fuel cost. The video spent a long time talking about noise. Then it ended with a suggestion that technology may allow for faster plane travel in the future.
In my opinion: you’d have to be a bit insane to feel like flying at 900 km/hr is too slow. It would be a shame for us to negate fuel efficiency improvements by insisting on more speed.
