Which Sims 4 packs should I get? (Ultimate Guide 2024)

so today's video is probably the biggest and most ambitious video I've ever done I did do an ultimate pack guide I think about a year or two ago but so many new packs have come out since then so many things have changed about the Sims 4 based games so it needs to be updated because this is a very long video there will be time stamps in the video so you can just skip to the different parts that you want to skip to because obviously we're all on different levels with the game I have a lot of opinions about The Sims 4 but I'm going to try and keep it as factual as possible just so that you guys get a general idea of what packs you may or may not want to get so just to confirm if you didn't already know the Sims 4 base game is free so you don't even have to pay for the base game is the base game enough in my personal opinion no I think it's much better with one or two packs installed at the very least a disclaimer I want to give out about the packs which I cannot stress enough none of them are worth the money at full price only get Sims 4 packs when they're on sale usually packs will go on sale sale between 50 and 60% off when there's a good sale there are sales all the time please don't buy any Sims for pack at full price just wait until there's a sale they're almost always going to be 50 to 60% off some of the newer packs usually don't have as good as a discount but if you're prepared to wait I truly believe 50% off is an excellent Benchmark for all of them in order for them to be worth it another disclaimer I would like to say in general guys The Sims for is a very cash grabby industry jointed game what was once just like one pack in The Sims 3 it's now five different packs in The Sims 4 it's pretty insane I will also say in my opinion The Sims 4 is the worst Sims game in that it lacks a lot of humor of the old Sims games it lacks the ambition it lacks the openness it lacks the depth and it is an extremely buggy game and I think it's really important to mention all these things before going into buying packs because trust me when I say buying a million different different packs will not make the game that much more enjoyable adding one or two packs of game that you like the look of will make it enjoyable but no expansion pack game pack stuff pack will really make the base game feel like a good base game it was built on Rocky foundations therefore it is bad and will always be a bad Sims game in my opinion maybe that's controversial but I just think it's really important to express this before buying loads of packs for those who don't know there are four main types of Sims 4 packs firstly we have expansion packs these come with a brand new world tons of built mode stuff tons of cre Sim stuff and a big expansive array of different gameplay elements then we have game packs which are like expansion packs but basically smaller Sometimes they come with a brand new world other times they don't normally they focus on one tiny Niche bit of gameplay that adds into your game they're like the baby brother of expansion packs and then we have stuff packs which are really really mini these just come with a little bit of buil mode stuff a little bit of creative Sim stuff and a very tiny isolated bit of gameplay that's usually quite insignificant and then we've got kits these are either just built mode stuff or Create a Sim stuff these are more Niche things I would say if you're a buil mode player or a creat a Sim player they don't really come with any new gameplay in my personal opinion expansion packs are the best kind of pack followed by game pack I don't really think stuff packs are that great neither are kits if you want best value for money I honestly just think an expansion pack or game pack is much better although not all Sims 4 packs are built the same unfortunately some of them are really good other ones are totally broken and don't work at all it's a little bit of a mess a bit of a mess is an understatement okay it's a total mess and that's why you need my ultimate pack guide yes you do so I'm going to talk about every single pack for The Sims 4 that's out right now as I said there will be time stamps so just skip to the bits that you want starting off with the expansion packs at first we have get to work this is a pack that comes with three active careers which is a detective doctor and scientist it also allows you to manage a retail business it comes with a very tiny insignificant world and it also comes with aliens I would say this pack is perfect for the kinds of people who are getting a little bit bored of just sending their Sims to work and waiting for them to come home I think the active careers are actually really really fun and they make the game a lot more engaging running your own shop can also be fun this is one of my favorite expansion packs for The Sims 4 and I think the pack is well suited to those who play as a single Sim household the next pack for The Sims 4 is get together this pack comes with a humongous world the biggest Sims 4 world the pack theme is a little bit random it's basically about joining clubs and going on group outings together in clubs it comes with a DJ booth coffee shops as well as being able to make your own custom clubs based on different kinds of Club activities honestly I wouldn't say get together is that groundbreaking of a pack it's one of my favorite packs but I think the reason why you would get this is if you want a brand new world like a really really big world I think the clubs can be a nice little function to play with but I don't really think they're that groundbreaking enough making it not a good value for money pack in my opinion I think it's good if you have money to spare and you just want a bigger world to live in and you want to give your Sims a better social life with clubs but I wouldn't say it's worth it to be honest especially compared to other packs which have a lot more gameplay the next Sims 4 expansion pack is City living this pack allows you to live in skyrise apartment buildings in a brand new Cissy world the pack comes with various miscellaneous features like doing karaoke going to different festivals as well as a couple new careers this is one of my personal favorite packs for the sims fall because I think it changes the way that you play a lot and makes a way that you play just feel a little bit more fun than just living in will Creek I would say it's more of a lifestyle pack if you want your sim Silver City lifestyle rather than coming with some really groundbreaking gameplay it's just more of a lifestyle pack the next Sims 4 pack is cats and dogs this pack allows you to own pet cats or pet dogs it also comes with the ability to run a vet clinic business the world that the pack comes with is also very big and a nice World in my opinion I will say cats and dogs in The Sims 4 are a little bit buggy I also think the pack does doesn't really come with that much gameplay in my opinion and it just falls short in many different areas I think if you like the idea of owning a pet for sure get the pack but I don't think it's groundbreaking at all it's more so if you just want the ability to have a cat or dog in your household the next Sims full pack is the seasons pack this one basically just adds weather to your game it also adds the ability to create your own holidays as well as play some of the pre-existing ones I really love seeing Seasons I think most simmers can categorically agree they like Seasons the pack does not come with a brand new world but it changes every other world for me personally I just feel like Seasons makes the game feel a lot more alive it makes it feel like you're actually playing through an entire year because obviously without Seasons your Sims just live in an Endless Summer so if you don't own this pack yet I can't recommend it enough I think it's the most important pack to have for The Sims 4 the next Sims 4 pack is get famous this comes with the ability to become a celebrity it comes with a brand new world which to be honest is not that great it's kind of small and boring it comes with a live acting career which I think is fun but does get a bit repetitive over time the fame system ranges from a one-star celebrity to a festar celebrity it also comes with a reputation system where your Sims can either have a good reputation or a bad one to be honest I think the lack of celebrity features is disappointing like why can't I be a famous model famous singer famous musician why can I only be a famous actor you can be famous for basically any reason and there's a lot of crosspack play with Fame so you can kind of get famous for other things but in my opinion the gaml does feel more like a game pack rather than expansion pack but for what it's worth I think it's very fun and I like being a celebrity it's one of the packs that I actually like to play with the most the next Sims full pack is Island living this is an expansion pack about living in a tropical beach Seaside world the world's quite big it's not my favorite world just because it's very syy looking and there's not really much to do this pack is definitely limited by The Sims for not having an open world unfortunately so a lot of the pack features like riding on boats you just won't bother using these features because you just can't do anything with them this is one of those lifestyle packs like City living if you want to live in a beach world you want to live on the seafront then by all means get the pack it does come with mermaids although I will say mermaids are very very bad in The Sims 4 and they're not fun trust me they're not fun at all they don't do anything I think if you really want to have a tropical beach world then by all means get the pack I personally just think it's very shallow the next Sims for expansion pack we have is discover University with this pack you can choose from two universities in the same world to go to there's a lot of different courses you can study and upon completing University this affects your ability to get a job in the future where you can earn more money and climb the career ladder more easily the newer cult that comes with this pack is the servo robots which I personally think are really fun to play with University in The Sims 4 is implemented in a way that's very stressful and it's not always fun but I think it's generally quite a good pack if you like the idea of going to University I think you will enjoy it it's not as good as the Sims 2 University pack but in terms of the Sims 4 packs I think it's a fun little experience experience the next Sims 4 expansion pack is Eco lifestyle this pack centers around fixing the world's Eco footprint you do this by sustainable living and using renewable energy and crafting and Community projects it comes with a new Harbor Town which I think is a nice little world and the gameplay actually affects the world meaning that you can change the way the world looks which is cool in my personal opinion I think the pack is very shallow and implemented a bit poorly I managed to complete the pack within about a couple of hours and then I was kind of done with it and the Eco footprint gameplay doesn't necessarily work that well outside of the Eco lifestyle world so I just don't personally think it expands on the game enough and for me personally I would say this one is in a void just because of the way it was implemented and some of the renewable energy features actually glitch out all the time so yeah this one isn't avoid from me unfortunately the next Sims for expansion pack is snowy escape this is one of those life lifestyle packs but this time it's a Japanese lifestyle and it's a snowy lifestyle this one is good because even if you don't own Seasons it will still snow in the world this pack I think is really really great if you're just looking for something totally different that we haven't seen in The Sims for before especially for the built mode stuff and the way that you can live your Sims lives they've implemented a lot of different Japanese culture elements I personally think the game play is very very shallow it doesn't really come with that much gam playay at all I personally would not say this one is worth it I think you get it and play with it for a little bit but then it would just start to feel a little bit shallow and repetitive so this one for me Isn't aoid but I I still think it's an okay pack maybe if you're one of those people who's obsessed with like anime or something you're an anime Lord maybe you're like the pack but I personally don't think it's worth it the next Sims for pack is cottage living this one comes with a British inspired World although I personally think the world is quite Bland and shallow and boring it's all about living in a cottage and living out a Countryside lifestyle it comes with some barn animals being cows llas and chickens it also comes with wild foxes and birds and rabbits I've always said if you like the idea of a farming game you just need to play stardo Valley but if you have a Sims addiction then I will say that cottage living is the next best thing I think the pack is actually quite in-depth and really really fun it comes with the ability to live off the land as as well so you can't just automatically buy food from your fridge like you do in the base game you actually have to harvest it or buy it this is one of the lifestyle packs that I do actually think is really really fun just because it completely changes the way that you have to play the game and it changes the way that you think about your Sims needs and basically everything so this one for me if you like the idea of farming or Countryside living I would definitely get this pack the next Sims 4 pack is high school years just as get to work comes with live careers that you can actually go go to this pack allows you to go to school kind of in a similar way to life careers the pack is supposed to add a ton more gameplay for teen Sims it comes with different things ranging from a influencer career or video game streamer career for teenagers parttime careers may I say it comes with after school activities it also kind of comes with like a Fairground in the world although I will say these are all Rabbit Hole buildings so your Sims don't actually enjoy anything here it's just they dis appear for a few ingame minutes it also comes with a bubble tea shop where you can purchase thrift store clothing as well unfortunately this is one of those packs I will say is a strong avoid even if you like the idea of playing as a teen Sim I think to be fair okay if you like the idea of having teen fashion and more teen bedroom stuff then I think it's worth it however the game play has been implemented so poorly it's basically nonfunctioning and very very annoying to have in your game and it's a shame because I think it's a really popular gameplay concept that I know a lot of simmers love I just personally think as well as many other simmers think the way it's been implemented was just so bad I just wouldn't bother getting the pack the next Sims 4 expansion pack is growing together it's a little bit difficult to say on paper what this pack is actually about it's supposedly supposed to come with packs for all life stages it comes with enhancements to the way for example that infants grow up in the base game infants just you know they grow from infants To Toddlers and it's a very hard cut off point but with growing together they gradually learn new things like they learn to hold their head up or they learn to sit for the first time or something if you have child sces their teeth will fall out and it's all a part of the Milestones of life it also comes with other kids gameplay like a treehouse or kids bikes it comes with the ability to have a midlife crisis if you're an adult the new world as well it's a very very shallow crap world but it looks like a better version of Willow Creek and that many simmers seem to feel like growing together is basically an update to The Sims 4 base game the features are a little bit random and genuinely do just feel like the base game 2.0 this pack is very controversial and divisive because it's such a well loved pack it's also just a very shallow pack I think the reason why it's well loved is because it is just an update to the base game and it makes the base game feel like a better base game with it features like its social compatibility system but I wouldn't say it's a standalone groundbreaking pack I would just say this is one that you should get if you can afford to buy an extra pack just to make the base game feel a bit better I do think it's an okay pack but as a standalone experience if money is tight and you do have to pick and choose I personally don't recommend it the next Sims 4 expansion pack is horse ranch this one comes with a Wild West theme world and of course it comes with horses other than horses it doesn't really come with anything other than the ability to make wine this is one of the most shallow Sims for expansion packs in my opinion it really does barely come with any gameplay even if you're a horse lover the way horses have been implemented is so shallow you just can't really do anything with them and the things you can do with them are unfortunately very buggy and it is very distracting just like with high school years I think this pack is a popular concept but the way it was implemented was just so bad I just don't really think it's going to be worth it even if you are a horse lover I'm afraid this one isn't aoid from me the next Sims 4 expansion pack is for rent this comes with a tie inspired world it's a very small size world for an expansion pack and a very bad world the gameplay revolves around uh building apartments being a landlord or being a tenant in an apartment it comes with landlord and tenant events like things break breaking down or having communal Gatherings with your neighbors in certain ways it also allows you to have multiple different properties on the same Lots by having different tency units you can have up to six or 99 if you use cheats I actually think the pack concept is really fun as it makes living your Sims lives feel a lot more neighborly and Alive it makes the game feel a tiny little bit closer to the Sims 3 open world although unfortunately this pack is another aoid from me solely based on how buggy the pack is every single gameplay feature of this pack is broken in some way and it's a really big shame because I just think the idea of living in a tency with other people where you can have shared spaces is so fun as I said it brings back a tiny bit of the Sims 3's open world it's just unfortunately the gameplay for the pack is very very broken so even though you may like the idea of the pack the actual imple impementation is just very bad unfortunately next up we are looking at Sims 4 game packs first up we have outdoor Retreat this one comes with a vacation only world so you can't live there and it's about camping out in the wilderness this is probably the most shallow Sims for game plack in that it doesn't really come with any new gameplay apart from just camping this pack really deserves an update because it's just so shallow this one is a 100% avoid from me I promise you you will regret getting it if you do get it unless of course you want to be disappointed whatever floats your boat the next Sims 4 game pack is spa day this was the second release game pack and it's another crap one unfortunately EA did try to update this pack with a spa day refresh where they added some brand new gameplay features it basically comes with the ability to go to a spa get a manicure and a pedicure do yoga and meditation or you can get a massage or you can go in a s you can also work as a massuse or a manicurist pedicurist I don't even know what that job title is called like a nail foot technician or something you can do that basically the career was implemented very very poorly and it's very very hard to use you cannot unfortunately run and manage your own Spa business you just kind of turn up in a random Spa lot but the way it was implemented was a little bit buggy and just implemented very badly unfortunately this one isn't avoid from me the next Sims 4 game pack is dine out this comes with the ability to dine out at a restaurant build your own restaurant and even manage your own restaurant I did give a disclaimer before that the Sims 4 is very disjointed in previous Sims games packs would just have restaurants like any kind of random pack would but in The Sims 4 you specifically need the restaurant pack I think the idea is a fun idea on paper however there's a lot of bugs with this pack and the pack is basically being abandoned by EA and they don't really seem to be bothered about fixing the pack and making it work properly you will suffer with countless issues when you are dining at a restaurant it will take for example 10 in-game hours for your starter to appear meals will be forgotten about Sims will hop off off their restaurant seat and just run off everywhere it's a bit of a disjointed mess unfortunately it's also very annoying that every time for example you have a new world in the game with a new Pat you have to build a restaurant to go in the world if you want to have the Sims dine out and it was just implemented in a way that takes so much work and even after all that work it just bugs out running a restaurant is a little bit less buggy but it's still quite buggy and it doesn't always function as intended it's one of those packs which is a nice idea on paper it's just the way it was implemented with so badly you just can't play with it this is an obsolete pack basically because of how broken it is and how it's been abandoned this one is a total avoid from me the next Sims 4 game pack is vampires this one actually comes with a world albeit a small world obviously it comes with the ability to be a vampire that's basically all it comes with vampire Sims in the SCS for are kind of cool when you use vampire abilities you gain experience points which you can spend on learning more abilities I personally don't think the abilities are that fun and for me personally they are my least favorite Supernatural Sim the abilities are kind of a bit lame like I don't know put another Sim in a angry mood put another Simon an embarrassed moot like it they don't really do that much I personally think they should have just been integrated into an expansion pack not have their own separate pack but I think if you like a Cults you will get a couple of gameplay hours out of it though I won't say it's groundbreaking the next Sims 4 game pack is Parenthood this one does not come with a new world it revolves around being a parent and looking after your children in The Sims 4 base game all you really do is just feed your children that's all you basically do for them with this packet it gives you the ability to praise or scold your children and it revolves around looking after them and raising up their character value so that they can be better people when they're adults it also comes with some gameplay activities for kids and teens for example having after school projects there is a lot of overlap between Parenthood and high school years and Parenthood and growing together I actually think this pack is okay it's not for me personally but if you like the idea of raising a family in The Sims 4 then I will say this pack makes raising a family a lot more rewarding because it actually adds challenge to being a parent and having to look after your kids and of course it's rewarding because when they grow up they have better character values or worse so I think it's a great one for legacy gameplay players the next Sims 4 game pack is jungle Adventure this one comes with a vacation only world so you can't live there it's a South American inspired world and it comes with the ability to explore a temple in a temple you can find treasures you can also find artif facts that you can decipher in an excavation workbench I personally think the pack is a fun little break from the standard vanilla Sims for gameplay although just to be clear it only comes with one Temple every time you go into it it changes very very slightly but not enough to mean that you actually notice a difference so I personally think it lacks a lot of replayability value but for what it's worth I think it's a fun little package the next Sims for package strangerville this one comes with I don't even know what to call it like a western American World this one is very unique because it comes with a very linear story line to follow the story line kind of feels like a knockoff of stranger things it's all about resolving the mystery of the Town honestly I think it's a fun little pack although you can complete it very quickly and of course once you've done the main story line it's done and it's gone forever so once you've done it once you basically completed it forever so I think it lacks a little bit of replayability value but I I personally think that the game is actually really really fun and it just adds a new unique way to play the next Sims 4 game pack is round with magic this one comes with a tiny World probably one of the worst worlds in The Sims 4 it comes with the ability to be spellcaster I personally think being a spast is fun you have potion making as well as different kind of spells spells that can be really really useful or really really chaotic I personally really like the gameplay because I think it changes the way that you play a lot and it's really fun to mess around with so some people say it lacks replayability value and I do kind of agree I also don't think it integrates very well with other packs but if you're just looking for a fantasy element to the game I think it definitely adds that and makes it a lot more fun the next SS full game pack is journey to bat this pack comes with a vacation only World there are actually no Lots in the world it's a very unique pack you basically have to complete missions for the different Star Wars factions and then your reward for completing these missions is to get get currency which you can use to purchase tools to complete more missions the pack doesn't really have much of an end goal and don't get me wrong I don't think it's a very bad pack but I will say it doesn't feel like the Sims I feel like because it's Disney and Disney are known for being very very controlling with their franchises it basically strips away everything to do with the Sims and it kind of feels like a totally separate Star Wars experience coded into the Sims 4 because of that I will say if you are a major Star Wars fan and you also happen to be a major Sims fan maybe you will enjoy the pack but for everybody else I don't think it's worth it and if you are just a Star Wars fan get an official Star Wars game don't get this pack this one isn't avoid from me the next Sims full game pack is dream home decorated this one doesn't come with a brand new world it comes with an interior designer career in The Sims 4 Sims can have different likes and dislikes for example they like the color blue and if a Sim likes a color blue whilst doing an interior design job for their house you give them blue things and they give you a good score the interior design career was not implemented very well in my personal opinion is very very buggy and it just kind of feels like an update to built mode I think if you're a builder in The Sims 4 you'll like some of the build stuff that comes with it but the actual job itself just wasn't implemented very well in my opinion and it just feels more like a stuff packs worth gameplay in my opinion not really the best the next Sims 4 game pack is my wedding stories this comes with a brand new Italian inspired world it's one of my favorite world for the game I think it looks nice the pack revolves around having a wedding which you can do in the base game just to confirm this pack basically makes weddings a little bit more glitchy and unplayable than they already were in the base game that's right this pack literally makes weddings worse this pack is one of those packs that's totally broken and EA basically making no efforts to fix the pack so consider this one an abandoned pack kind of like dying out where the game play is just so broken but there have been basically no efforts made to fix it unfortunately and it probably never will be fixed this pack just shouldn't have existed this is a 110% avoid the next Sims 4 game pack is werewolves this is another Supernatural pack about being a werewolf the world itself I think looks kind of pretty it's a little bit shallow like all Sims World but it's nice you you can create a werewolf in Create a Sim mode or you can turn into one it comes with the ability to have different werewolf packs there's only two werewolf packs unfortunately one is like an old school pack the other one is a modern pack they kind of have a rivalry and it comes with a skill tree system just like vampires in my personal opinion these are the best occult Sims and the best ult pack just because I feel like they were implemented in the most in-depth way and the most fun way and I just feel like there's so much that you can do as a werewolf it's still a little bit shallow as all Sims 4 packs are but for what it's worth it's my favorite occult pack if you like the idea of fantasy gameplay I definitely recommend this one next we are taking a look at the Sims for Stuff packs there are a lot of them but they're all a little bit shallow so we can get through them quicker the first one is luxury party stuff this one comes with some Modern party wear and some Modern Luxury furniture and it comes with a chocolate fountain and that's basically it this one is a 100% avoid from me it's awful the next SS full stuff pack is perfect patio stuff this just comes with a new patio set with a barbecue and some chairs Etc this one doesn't actually come with any brand new gaml it comes with hot tubs the base game hot tub is not very pretty the two hot tubs in this pack are better they're more nice and modern looking but it doesn't actually come with any new gameplay so this one is a void from me the next stuff pack is called kitchen stuff this one comes with an ice cream making machine where you can make ice cream some of them have very minor effects like your Sim's face turning blue for a couple of in-game hours it also comes with a brand new kitchen set for buil mode which I think looks okay but there are better kitchen sets in some of the more recent packs this one is a maybe aoid I think if you really like modern building then get it but I just don't think it's that worth it the next pack is spooky stuff this pack comes with the ability have Halloween it comes with some Halloween costumes and it comes with a brand new spooky party as well as some spooky themed Furniture if you already have the Sims 4 Seasons I would say avoid this one it actually comes with stuff that's already in Seasons it just it's just basically obsolete because of Seasons so if you already own Seasons I personally wouldn't bother unless you very specifically wanted a load of Halloween costumes the next pack is movie hangout stuff this comes with the ability to watch movie on your regular television it also comes with a popcorn machine having your Sims watch movies is no different to having them watch regular TV it doesn't really change that much about the game this one is just an avoid from me just for being very shallow unless of course you specifically want some boho fashion or boho Furniture although it does come with an outdoor movie projector if that's what you like the next one is romantic garden stuff this one comes with some I guess ancient Greek ancient Roman inspired architecture for your garden it also comes with a wishing well where you can wish for different things like more money or wishing to have a child or wishing for romance I personally think it's a very shallow pack and not really worth it in my opinion but I think the garden stuff is okay I just don't think you'll ever use it to be honest the next stuff pack is kids room stuff this comes with some brand new clothing and bedroom stuff for your kids it also comes with a puppet show theater set as well as a monster trading card battle system kind of like Pokémon if you like family gameplay I actually think this pack is good just for coming with a little bit more clothing for kids and a little bit more bedroom furniture for kids as well as a very tiny bit of extra gameplay I actually think if you like gameplay then it's not a bad pack by any means and I think you will enjoy it the next stuff pack is backyard stuff kind of like perfect patio it comes with a little patio set it comes with a water slide and it comes with a drinks picture and Windchimes none of these really have any gameplay elements to them that feel in depth it's a little bit poorly implemented and I just don't think it's fun if you already have seasons you already have enough outside activities for summer the next sful stuff pack is vintage glamour this pack comes with the ability to have a butler and it comes with some vintage Hollywood inspired stuff I will say the butler gaml is implemented so badly Butler are just basically a broken feature and EA don't really seem to be updating the pack to fix them so consider this pack obsolete in terms of not working very well the next Sims for Stuff pack is bowling night this one just comes with the ability to go bowling there isn't any kind of bowling lot type you can just place a bowling lane in any lot the pack wasn't implemented very well and it's difficult to go bowling cuz there aren't like any bowling Lots in the game so you're like what can you do I just think bowling was implemented in a very boring way this one is an avoid for me the next pack is the Sims for Fitness stuff this one comes with a rock climbing wall as well as some very questionable Fitness outfits and Equipment this is basic in my opinion this is one of the worst stuff packs it's like it doesn't come with anything new other than a rock climbing machine that you won't really use for more than 20 seconds before getting very bored this is a 100% avoid the next Sims for Stuff pack is toddler stuff this comes with the ability to have toddler play dat it comes with a toddler slide as well as a toddler jungle gym just like kids room stuff this one comes with some new outfits for toddlers as well as some new built mode stuff this one is one of the more boring ones in my opinion I personally don't think you're going to enjoy it that much it's not a total avoid but if you like family gameplay then maybe get it I just don't really think it's worth it the next Su for Stuff pack is Laundry Day stuff this gives you the ability to put your clothes in a washing machine wash them and then either put them in the tumble dryer or hang them on the washing line wearing washed clothes gives your Sims a nice moot LP for a couple of hours I wouldn't say it's that groundbreaking it doesn't come with a new lro mat lot type unfortunately this one was a bit controversial on release because it was a community voted one the community voted for an Eco living pack and in response to that they gave us washing machines and Tumble dryers in a very isolated pack so it's quite controversial although even more controversially a lot of people love this pack if you're a Vanilla family player and you like the idea of doing boring chores in The Sims 4 then by all means get laundry day but I don't think it's groundbreaking the next pack is myus pet stuff very important disclaimer this pack does not work properly unless you already have cats and dogs meaning you must buy The Sims full caps and dogs expansion pack before you purchase my first pet stuff if you're playing on Console this pack is unable to be purchase from the Playstation or Xbox store separately because they break the PlayStation and Microsoft terms of service because this pack is very unethical however you can purchase it in a bundle with cats and dogs on console and as far as I'm aware it's actually bundled in for free with cats and dogs which is always good although on PC you have to purchase it separately this pack comes with the ability to own a rodent cage it also comes with new outfits for cats and dogs and it comes with some built most stuff which looks identical to built most Staffing cats and dogs this is very controversial because it allegedly is content That was supposed to being cats and dogs but was later on upsold as a separate pack I personally don't recommend this one 100% avoid the next stuff pack is mosino stuff this pack comes with a very tiny amount of mosino clothing the clothing itself is not very nice in my opinion it comes with photography poses so if you like the idea of taking pictures of your Sims it comes with the ability to pose them in a certain way it also comes with a photography career but it was implemented very poorly in my opinion it's not very fun this pack for me is like a 100% avoid the next stuff pack is Tiny living this one doesn't really come with any new live mode gameplay but it just allows you to create a tiny home which you can already do with just a base game alone but this one basically makes it a new special lot type and the smaller your home is the more Buffs you get like increased gardening growth increased skill gain in a house that's a tiny home it also comes with Murphy Beds which to be honest were implemented quite bad badly in The Sims 4 I think the game play was implemented quite badly but if you like the idea of building I personally like the pack just for the ability to make tiny homes because I think it's a fun challenge the next stuff pack is Nifty knitting stuff this allows your Sims to knit socks knit jumpers knit hats knit whatever you can knit different clothing for different life stages and you can knit different Furniture I don't really see the point in it to be honest because let's be honest most of us don't care what our Sims wear and most of us don't really really care about knitted Furniture it comes with a rocking chair it comes with something called plopsy which is like Etsy where you can sell the things you niit I think it's an okay little thing maybe if you want more gameplay for elders but I don't think it's that in depth the next Sims for Stuff pack is Paranormal stuff this is the only Supernatural stuff pack it comes with the ability to have a haunted house lot type with loads of spooky things happen in your home it comes with a Paranormal Investigator career and it comes with bone Hilder who is a maid that looks like a skeleton I personally think this is a really fun pack this is my favorite stuff pack for The Sims 4 one of my favorite Sims 4 packs in general I actually think the career is really really fun to play with I think the built mode stuff and create Sims stuff is also really nice too if you like fantasy gameplay Supernatural gameplay in my personal opinion this is the best Supernatural pack for The Sims 4 so this one is a must if you are a supernatural player in my opinion the next Sims for Stuff pack is home Chef hustle this comes with a nice new kitchen set it also comes with new cooking equipment being a blender pizza oven and a waffle maker the pack revolves around using ingredients and preparing them for different kinds of recipes in the game and it also comes with a market stand where you can place your portable cooking equipment like the pizza oven or the waffle maker and you can basically place it anywhere in The Sims 4 world and you can start making and selling food I actually think it's a really fun gameplay concept that being able to make food and sell it out on a different lot in the world it's not the most in-depth Sims 4 stuff pack but for what it's worth I actually think the game play is relatively fun and if you like the idea of just being a chef it makes being a chef and selling your own food from a little stand feel like a fun cute experience next up we have Sims for kits as I said before kits are just kind of build mode assets or Create a Sim assets there's only one gameplay kit which was the first ever kit which was bust the dust where you do vacuuming although unfortunately this is very broken and it's been abandoned by EA it was so controversially broken they have not done a gameplay kit since so that one is a 100% avoid all of the other kits it really is just dependent upon your personal preference I can't really give any like very specific recommendations about kits because they're all different you might enjoy the idea of playing with a modern kit with modern furniture you might like the idea of a kit with kids clothing it really is just personal preference although I will say some features that used to be locked behind big packs like expansion packs in the past are actually available in kits now for example the little campus kit comes with a movie screen projector which was locked behind movie hangout stuff it also contains a swing set which is not available in the base game The Sims 4 modern Lux kit comes to the vanity table which was previously locked behind the Vintage glamour stuff pack they're also a really good way to get some extra build mode stuff or Create a Sim stuff in your game if you don't want to Shell out money on a full pack for example if you want a new patio set the desert Luxe kit comes with a really nice patio set and it's half the price of the Sims 4 perfect patio stuff but it really is entirely based on personal preference with kits and I will say these are the least fun packs to play with these are the totally optional ones for the kinds of people who have a serious addiction to buying Sims for DLC if it comes down to it guys I honestly just recommend getting expansion packs or maybe game packs instead but kits are there if you want them although unfortunately kits never ever go on sale so just like the universe the list of Sims for packs just keeps expanding and expanding indefinitely and in the future there will probably be a million more packs do you need every single one of these packs in order to ch enjoy the game absolutely not there are some packs which I think are very very good for all players a very good example of that is Seasons although I am very critical of growing together and I say it's in a void it is a very good update to the base game itself and because of that I think it's a good one for all players to have but fundamentally there are different kinds of players for the Sims 4 some people just like to simulate only the family side of life you want to play with the same household over multiple Generations people call this a legacy player or generational gameplay if this is you then obviously you'd be more suited to packs like maybe growing together or the Parenthood pack if however you only play as Just One Singular Sim you probably get more fun out of just playing around with fun gameplay Concepts like being a celebrity with get famous or going to work with get to work so different things appeal to different people I tried really hard to be quite objective and factual in my descriptions of all the packs but obviously I am biased because it is me so even if I say like or you must get this pack or you must avoid that pack if you're a completely different player to me maybe you will enjoy these packs especially for example if you just enjoy built mode you might really enjoy dine out to create restaurants if you like the idea of building a full save file in the game but you're not actually intending on playing it maybe it doesn't matter that much the same thing with apartments for for rent although they're very buggy they are very fun to build if you're a build mode player it's the same as if for example you really don't like the idea of Supernatural gameplay even though I may recommend the were's pack you probably might not want to get it so I feel like it's important to say take everything that I've said in my pack descriptions with a grain of salt because not everything applies to everybody but I think the most important thing thing is that you always look at other simmer gameplay videos on YouTube you can look at mine or somebody else's it doesn't matter and that's because the most important thing is the way a pack feels in its gameplay is very different often to how it's described a good example I said before is with dine out where I think the idea of running and managing a restaurant is such a fun gameplay idea being able to go to restaurants with your Sims and go on dates and things is a fun idea but the way it was implemented was just so bad that even if if you get the pack and you love the idea of the pack you just can't really play with it because it's broken so whatever pack you like the look of I think it's always really important to look at the reviews of it first and other people's gameplay footage because I'm not saying the packs are falsely advertize but what I am saying is the packs don't always work as intended or as you think they should another really important thing to talk about is cross pack play even though the Sims 4 has a very disjointed pack system if you own a combination of multiple Sims for packs together you do get some cross pack features how many packs come with cross pack features vary so much depending on the packs one of the most cross pack compatible packs is get together as I said this one comes with clubs where you can create your own clubs based on different Club activities and these activities are updated for basically every single pack for example if you own get to work there's a baking activity if you own move mov hangout stuff you can eat popcorn in a club if you own discover University you can have a robot building Club if you have high school years you could have a cheerleading club another great example is get famous there are different kinds of activities which increase your Fame level and a lot of these are crosspack compatible if you own high school years you can become a famous streamer with get to work you can become a famous astronaut with jungle Adventure you can become a famous archaeological person and if you own discover University you can even play the fame card to make admission into University easier so if you do own multiple Sims for packs of course there is the addition of crossback features and I highly recommend searching into these looking up on Google or YouTube or just experimenting yourself to find out what these are although there is not crosspack features for every single pack together it solely just depends on what you have my personal favorite cross pack thing is with get to work making a retail store you can make a magic shop with real of magic you can make a robot part shop with Discovery University there are a lot of different shop options and that's what I personally like but I think it's important to mention this because it does have an impact although do I think you need to get every single pack to make the game enjoyable absolutely not I personally recommend just getting like one pack at a time and then just seeing how you get on with that pack Sims 4 packs unfortunately are not under the EA great game guarantee this is a guarantee that EA have with a lot of their games where if you don't think it's a great game experience you can actually ask for a refund this exists for The Sims 3 packs actually so if you play The Sims 3 pack and you decide actually this is not that great you can simply claim a refund based on the fact that you don't think it's great but with the Sims 4 they don't give you the great game guarantee that just goes to show that even EA themselves don't think the Sims 4 is a great great game compared to the Sims 3 but it is a disclaimer just to not rush in and buy every single pack just maybe get one or two to begin with and just see how you get on with them now in addition to all of the different packs you also have mods mods are provided by the community for free they are not official they are just things that Sims players have made themselves and they've shared with you to use mods can include different kinds of clothing assets or hairstyles that have been modded into the game it can includes some brand new build mode stuff that your Sims can use you can also get gameplay mods for example mods that give you a real estate system mods that give you online dating mods that give you brand new rabbit hole careers the possibilities are endless with mods and there are so many amazing ones obviously because mods are not official they can break every single time there's a new Sims for update and you have to wait for the moded to update the mod and then replace a mod in your game mods can be a little bit difficult and just to confirm you can't get mods on Console they're only available on PC and Mac but I personally really really love mods and if you can't afford all the Sims 4 packs there are so many mods that have been implemented in ways which genuinely Feel Like official they are that good I'm actually going to link in the description on this video about all of the different mods I like including very realistic mods very official looking mods and perfect mods for new players
