after four if you will and Galatians chapter and we're gonna answer the question when was Jesus really born and we're going to do so through the Scriptures and not through history - oftentimes people look at the winter solstice and they look at the history of December 25th and they get all excited and warm and fuzzy and feeling inside and but when you come to Scripture which is our guiding light then we begin to really realize that guess what really happened December 25th wasn't the birth of Christ but it was something far better and far more miraculous and we'll demonstrate that this morning from Scripture Galatians 4 verse number 4 though we'll start here he's the Apostle Paul writes but when the fullness of time was come God sent forth his son made of a woman made under the law to redeem them that were under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons the only father we think for the morning Lord and as we look at this we'll just rejoice and what really happened this time of year for your praise and for your honor and for your glory amen I will say for the folks on the internet there is a handout you just go to the website and it'll be there for you underneath this lesson so in Galatians 4 verse 4 when the fullness of time was come God sent forth his son made of a woman made under the law when the fullness of time was come that's the point there in the verse is right on schedule right on God's schedule I took the timeline down but right when it was time you go back in prophecy and the coming of the Messiah is prophesied and it's talked about and right when it was time guess what happened he came he was made of a woman he was made under the law he's he's underneath Israel's system and when you think about when the fullness of time was come God sent forth his son then the question is is what when did he send him so let's go back to the book of Luke because in Luke chapter number 1 there's great information here pertaining to and covering the birth of Christ and when you deal with this subject you will deal with some calender things so you've got to kind of go okay because when we look at our calendar it's a little different than their calendar and in the middle of all of this calendar stuff some Pope changed it and some Roman Empire and Caesar changed it again so we'll use the words late and mid did quite a bit okay when there's some kind of question but if you look at Luke chapter number one in verse number one Luke says here for as much as many have taken in hand to set forth and order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us notice what Luke says okay good the heat went off he says hey we believe this so what did I go and do even as they delivered them unto us which from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word it seemed good to me also having had what kind of understanding perfect understanding you see Luke I'm sorry let's finish the verse of the things from the very first - right under the in order most excellent Theophilus that thou made us know the certainty of those things wherein thou has been instructed Luke didn't make this stuff up Luke goes and talks to the shepherds in the field Luke goes and interviews the wise men that finally found the Lord in down in Bethlehem as a young child Luke goes and talks directly to Joseph Luke goes and talks directly with Mary and get some information from Mary and so forth it's in Luke that you read where Mary pondered these things in her heart's not in Matthew in Matthew doesn't contain that but Luke does why he wants to have it set he wants to have it right we're gonna get this right because we believe that who came well we believe that in the fullness of time God sent forth his son we believe that so let's get the information straight so he starts and he begins to lay it out verse five there was in the days of Herod the king of Judea a certain priest named Zacharias of the course of Abia and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron and her was Elizabeth now we're gonna have some words pop up and we're gonna have some some information come up and he begins to give you some information here and honestly I'll just say this now we'll say it again the key to understanding when the Lord was born is in the key of understanding John the Baptist and when he was born and his activity so we have Zacharias and we have Elizabeth notice that Elizabeth is a daughter of Aaron Elizabeth's dad is a priest Zacharias is a priest so John the Baptist is therefore a what he's a priest okay even though he goes and does other things verse 6 and they were both righteous before God walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly and they had no children because that Elizabeth was barren and they both were now well stricken in years and he came to pass that while he executed the priests office before God now watch in the order of his what of his course well what's his course called it's called of course it's called abaya now when he's down in the temple doing his work some things happen according to the custom verse 9 of the priests office his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord and the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense so Zacharias is down he's in he's in his course of abaya and he's burning incense and what are the people doing they're waiting for him there there there without at the time of incense his course of abaya now we have to get that information squared away so come back with me to first chronicles chapter number 24 again if you have a handout you know exactly where I'm going and you can bookmark these and have them this disinformation in first chronicles 24 verse number 1 now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron the sons of Aaron Nadab and Abihu Eleazar are in FMR but need a band a bi who died before their father and had no children therefore le a czar in FM are executed the priests office so errands for boys he's down to two right now watch the next verse and David distributed them both well one son had more boys than the other son so we have to have an equal distribution of the work of the office so David divides up the priesthood in the working of the temple according to one son gets one week the next son it's hard to dis you can read down through this but just as an illustration Eleazar boy goes one week if Tamar's boys go two weeks and he balances them out so that one son doesn't Eleazar doesn't have more if a more or less and vice versa okay now drop to verse number 10 the seventh to that guy the eighth - who Abijah now Abijah is abaya in greek we understand that the difference in in the term abides as the hebrew abaya is the greek but what is what is the number it's the eighth right so it's the eighth week from when from Passover what starts the Israel's year come back to Exodus chapter 12 just do a little Bible study here that's what we do Exodus chapter 12 you see David comes along and he divides up the priesthood and abaya is the 8th week after Passover it's the 8th course that you still got first Chronicles 24 maybe go back there real quick first chronicles 24 if you will run your finger back up to verse number seven he says now the first lot came forth to her harab in a second then in verse eight you see the third and the fourth those are those courses of the weeks after the Passover now who handles the Passover week in the temple the high priests do the big guys do then we break each week down after that follow that alright Exodus 12 verse number one and the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying this month shall be unto you the beginning of months it shall be the first month of the year to you speaking unto all the congregation saying in the tenth day of this month okay so there's a month that begins Israel's calendar and it's the month where they left Exodus I'm sorry Egypt flip over to chapter 13 chapter 13 verse 3 and 4 Moses said unto the people remember this day in which he came out of Egypt out of the house of bondage 4 by strength of the hand of the Lord brought you out from this place there's so no leavened bread be eaten this day came out in the month of what we got a bib now don't we I see a bib now a bib every dictionary Bible dictionary out there known to man and I've got one that goes back into the late 1700s all of them equate that to our month April well think about April what happens in our in our environment in April what springs forth spring springs forth usually in April doesn't it the grounds are thawne ok well it kind of makes sense to me that here you've got Israel doing what springing forth in a spring month makes sense to me ok so in our calendar the month of April is where Passover would be now this is where I said that thing about the calendars figured out whatever you want to do with it I'm not gonna hold you to something but I am in this issue because you got to have a month to begin it in it's a bib now come over with me to Leviticus chapter number 23 because in Leviticus 23 it tells you the month it tells you the day Leviticus 23 verse number five when the Passover is going to start what does he say in the 14th day of this month at even is the Lord's Passover so that we have the 14th day of a bib what's going to happen the Passover now back there in Exodus 12 we didn't continue reading but 10 days before that what do they do they pull the lamb out set him aside make sure you spotless and without blemish so that they can kill it on the fourteenth for the Passover what did they do to the Lord Palm Sunday is the week before you know that I cult I said Palm Sunday excuse me the entry into Jerusalem were they okay that's pulling the lamb out setting them aside making sure he's without blemish because what's going to happen on Passover we're gonna kill him follow that so you have that now come back to Luke 1 with me you can let all the Old Testament go so we have the 8th week down from Passover is the course of Abia which is where Zacharias is where in the temple chapter 11 of Luke verse 11 Zacharias is in he's getting his incense ready to burn the people are outside waiting and what happens well and there appeared unto him the angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of the incense and when Zechariah saw him he was excited and wonderfully no he was what he was troubled in fear fell on him you know why he was so worried there's been 400 years of silence from God and and no angels have spoken no there's a famine in the land for the Word of God the writing prophets have been writing and now all of a sudden there's an angel standing in the room something's about to happen the angel said unto Him fear not Zacharias for thy prayer is heard and thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son and thou shalt call his name John and thou shalt have joy and gladness and many shall rejoice at his birth for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost even from his mother's womb and many of the children of Israel shall be turned to the Lord their God and he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of the father's to the children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just to make ready a whole a people prepared for the Lord he's the crier in the wilderness and we see that happen so what does Zacharias do and Zechariah said unto the angel whereby shall I know this for I am an old man and my wife saw well stricken in years and the angel answered saying unto him I am Gabriel that stand in the presence of God and I'm sent to speak unto thee and to show these glad tidings and behold thou shalt be dumb and not able to speak under the day that these things shall be performed because thou believe it's not my words which shall be fulfilled in their season and the people waited for Zacharias and marveled that he tarried so long in the temple and when he came out he could not speak unto them and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple for he beckoned unto them and remained speechless what did he do he's out there do you know any many money he couldn't say anything why he asked for a sign and what Oh Gabriel give him gave him the sign you can't speak till this stuff comes true now he's in zakah so Zacharias speak so what does he do verse 23 and it came to pass that as soon as the days of his administration were accomplished he departed to his own house he's done working igni now what's 8 weeks after April mid-april it makes it mid what mid June doesn't it yes it does pastor Drake so in mid-june what is he doing by the way at the bottom of your handout there's a wonderful little timeline thing there that'll help you answer these rhetorical questions ok he's eight his 8 weeks in he's in that's mid-june April 14th middle of the month 8th week down in mid-june what's he doing he's done and where is he going he's going home now if you look at verse 39 real quick Mary Rose in those days and when in the hill country would taste with haste into a city of Judah and entered into the house of Zacharias and saluted Elizabeth they live in the hill country and the temples in Jerusalem gave him a couple days to get home ok cuz when you go back over verse 24 what's happened and after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived and hid herself 5 months what happened in mid-june when he got home they got together didn't they she conceives so this could possibly be about 23 to 25th when she Consuela Lizabeth conceives again possible you figure mid-june it's a nice safe way to say it because what's the next verse a well verse 26 and in the what month the six months the angel Gabriel was sent from God into the city of Galilee named Nazareth to a virgin a spouse to a man whose name was Joseph of the house of David and the Virgin's name was Mary well what six months later after June and that would be mid-december wouldn't it what happens in mid-december again maybe possibly 23rd - 25 what happens Mary gets a visitor doesn't she and Gabriel shows up in verse 28 and the angel came in unto her and said hail thou that art highly favoured the Lord is with thee blessed art thou among women and when she saw him she was troubled at his saying and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be and the angel said unto her fear not Mary for thou hast found favour with God and behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb and bring forth the son and thou shalt call his name Jesus he shall be great and shall be called the son of the highest and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom there shall be no end then said Mary under the angel how shall this be seeing I know not a man and the angel said and the angel answered and said unto her the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God and behold thy cousin Elizabeth she has also conceived a son by the way notice how he's just said that also conceived a son she's conceiving right there okay Gabriel is telling her what's happening to her because now it's not he doesn't say Elizabeth has it's already has what also you're do you now see now you be it unto to me according to thy word I'm sorry I skipped there verse 36 behold thy cousin Elizabeth she have also conceived a son in her old age and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren for with God nothing shall be impossible and Mary said behold the handmaiden of the Lord be it unto me according to thy word and the angel departed from her what happened six months later late December what's happening to Mary she's conceiving see the real miracle of this time of the year isn't the birth it's what the conception that's the real miracle the birth of Christ by the way in the manger scene the nativity scene which by the way was developed by a Pope back in the late 1600s early 1700s just FYI okay when that was happening that birth was normal was natural nothing unusual about his birth everything is odd about his supernatural about his conception so Mary goes and sees verse 39 s is gonna go visit now again we're six months down the road we're late December and Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste into the city of Judah and entered into the house of Zacharias and saluteth Elizabeth and he came past that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary the babe leaped in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost and she spake out with a loud voice and said blessed art thou among women why is she all of a sudden blessed what was the other what was the the sign given to Elizabeth to know that something had happened to Mary that was blessed happy that's what blessed is is happy the baby leaped why because John is now communicating with cousin Jesus because they're both filled with who the holy good spirit the Holy Ghost verse 43 and winces is this to me that the mother of notice my lord should come to me see how Elizabeth recognizes immediately what's going on with Mary by the way Mary recognized something - down in verse number 46 and Mary said my soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit hath rejoiced in God next word my Savior she would never have promoted herself above her Savior she knew who she was so when you sing the song mary did you know she did know she knew everything she understood what was going on verse 45 and blessed is he that believeth in so on you go now drop the verse 56 just for time and Mary abode with her about three months and returned to her own house now Elizabeth's full time came that she should be delivered and she brought forth a son so when was John born well mid to late what's nine months later out of June March right June July August September October November December January February March okay late March who's born John the Baptist is Mary is there by the way when Mary goes and sees Elizabeth its she's six months in Mary stays till for three months we're at our nine-month right two hundred and what is it two hundred and seventy something days John has been the Baptist he is born by the way if you looked there verse 59 and it came to pass it on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child and they called him Zacharias after the name of his father and his mother answered and said not so but he shall be called John and they said unto her there is none of the kindred that is called by thy name this name and they made signs to his father see these he's still what still can't talk which is probably a good thing going through the pregnancy for dad okay just stay out of the room buddy okay how he would have him called and he asked for a writing tablet wrote saying his name is John and they all marveled and his mouth was opened immediately and his tongue loosed and he spake and praised God and he just goes on and exalts who John is going to be the forerunner for who is verse number 69 and raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David you see Zacharias knows what's going on - now where's Mary Mary went home chapter 2 verse number 6 well verse well you got date Joseph carries her off to Bethlehem and verse 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee into the city of Nazareth into Judea into the City of David which is called Bethlehem verse 5 to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife being what great with child and so it was that while they were there the days were accomplished that she should be delivered she brought forth her firstborn and wrapped him in a swot in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the end well when would that have happened when would Jesus had been born if he's if she conceives late December mid to late December when would Jesus Christ have been born mid to late September now if you go and you study out the climate issues over in the Middle East they're very similar to our climate why in the world would there be shepherds in a field tending the flock when it's 38 degrees outside at night they wouldn't be you know how I know that you come down there ride where I Drive my school bus now and you know what I don't see anybody out in the field in the evening except for the goofy animal and they're in a pen and they're huddled up around the pile trying to keep warm but what's happens here in late September the evenings are beautiful aren't they they've cooled down into the 70s in the 80s and they're beautiful Shepherds are out Joseph would not have moved his Prairie pregnant wife in a condition of bad weather cold weather I should say but yet in September the days are still warm aren't they you guys understand very much some similar climate as we have so the birth issue if you look at verse 21 of Luke 2 and when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child his name was called Jesus which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb so you have the birth of Christ is really in late September but what is the whole issue the whole issue of the Lord's birth isn't the birth it's the what it's the conception you thought you see it follow that okay now who out there would love for people to miss the conception but celebrate the birth the satanic policy of evil so then what becomes what is developed in religion dumb ma and I say it that way on purpose what gets developed well we're going to have a winter solstice at the end of the year we're gonna get a guy who's gonna change the calendar to move the date so that it all falls together we'll have Augustine the Great come along and let's just get everybody together on the same page so we don't have so many celebrations so we'll just move it all together to worship the Roman Sun God and this Annette and what begins to get lost here the conception because what was the conception it was the myrrh it was a it was a miracle it was miraculous Isaiah seven note there's been nobody else like him so there's no wonder why there's so much confusion out there about what about him being born here because what does that move away from what do you quit thinking about the conception Galatians 4 and we'll be done in Galatians 4 verse number 4 now I'll tell you what the first time I saw Luke one like that and saw that I was I got excited and I didn't run out and tell everybody because everybody I know understood that already it was just exciting to me you know but that's interesting because what did what did we learn from Scripture we go through the details of John the Baptist Zacharias and Elizabeth and who shows up the Savior does because John the Baptist Matthew three he's the Cryer in the wilderness prepare you way the Lord make us make the path straight here he comes and so what happens here he comes whew three months later after right March six months now sometime anyway it figured out Galatians 4 verse 4 again but when the fullness of the time was come God sent forth his son made of a woman made under the law to do what to redeem them and you know what if Satan can get you to miss that you know what he can get you to miss the redemption and that's what he's after if he can get you and I the world as a whole to focus on December 25th being the birth of Christ then you know what we quickly lose we quickly lose our focus on the cross don't we and we quickly go and it's just all good along and what is Satan done he's won that battle for the day when the fullness of the time was come God sent forth his son made of a woman made under the law that's why the eighth day Luke - he was circumcised he's under the law program to redeem them that were under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons who is the law given to Israel it's hers but Romans 3 tells us that the law also made who guilty the world so who did he come in the world to do he really came to redeem everyone didn't he and we understand more of that through the Apostle Paul okay so when was Christ really born mid to late September okay what happened in December though the conception and that's the real miracle okay all right Darrell father we think for the morning Lord we thank you for the clarity that we get from your scriptures about things that the world has so confused and yet we can know with some clarity with some truth about what is really happening what concerning your son so that in the end of the day we can give you the praise and the glory for that and your name we pray you
