good day folks and welcome back to the channel you're asking 300 bucks for it I probably shouldn't tell you this but you're not asking nearly enough for this thing he had a price for 300 I have a conscience I believe in karma I had to tell him what it was worth um cuz it could retail for as much as 2500 bucks really yeah wow this is actually really cool this is a Samurai helmet from late EO period when is that early 1600s to basically 1868 I believe somewhere right around in there you know you had the Emperor who was like the king and then you had the samurai which was sort of like the Royal Court they were basically the equivalent of like dukes and Earls in England Napoleonic AA medals when a client offers Cory a set of Napoleonic ARA medals she is concerned that she might have overpaid for them at an auction after writing down the wrong Lot number so what do we got here I have some Napoleonic era medals okay um so tell me where you got them I was in Europe at an auction and I accidentally won them how do we accidentally win them so I wrote down the wrong Lot number and this is what they gave me and what did you accidentally pay for him I accidentally paid $1,000 for him okay um I'm 99% confident that these are on Drew medals you when people say medals they typically think of military medals gold medals that you wear around your neck the first Olympic medals that they presented were just like this these are actually able to cast they could be mass-produced okay so we have Siege Del La best steel I'm pretty sure kind of translates into the storming of basti you wanted to decorate your house in the 1850s this is the kind of stuff you would hang on the wall Cory cannot resist delving to the fake news claiming France's most famous conqueror was shorter than the average man he is very impressed that the medals are in great shape despite being over two centuries old we all know how important Napoleon was in France and during the 1800s uh pretty much conquered most of Europe everybody knows about the whole Napoleon complex thing which believe it or not is actually not true he was actually average height um I think U that was just something that his enemies just kind of a rumor that they made up and it just kind of stuck with them give me an idea of what you're looking to get out of them so I really just want to get my money back so I'd say $1,000 okay um Cory is surprised when she nervously asks for $11,000 she declares it her lucky day and offers her double the asking price without sparing at a moment's thought she accepts the $2,000 offer you know for something that's close to 200 years old it is in really really good condition uh you know it's not like somebody use these as hockey pucks or something like that I mean they've pretty much stayed in the Box the entire time the conditions really good today is your lucky day you have doubled your money on these I will give you 2,000 bucks nice great I'll take it all right sounds good to me uh meet my guys over there they'll write you up okay great thank you have a good day Samurai helmet as Rick peruses the shelves of a random antique shop in Utah a Samurai helmet catches his eye Brad the shop owner confesses to know little about the Hat because it is on consignment just crossed into utop and I pulled into a little town named hurricane what do we have here hello hey how's it going good how are you all right just looking around sure one of the weird things about a random antique shop you'll never know what you'll find it might just be completely full of Chunk might be full of treasures might be overpriced might be underpriced but this place has got going for it it's pretty damn big so there might be that one little treasure stash in the corner somewhere this is definitely pretty cool do you know anything about this it's on consignment I don't know anything about it looks like some sort of helmet Samurai helmet it looks like though the asking price is $300 Rick decides to let Fred in on the secret that the Hat could sell for about $2,500 Fred is so blown away by the Revelation that Rick takes the opportunity to school him on Ancient Samurai culture you're asking 300 bucks for it I probably shouldn't tell you this but you're not asking nearly enough for this thing he had a price for 300 I have a conscience I believe in karma I had to tell him what it was worth um cuz it could retail for as much as 2500 bucks really yeah wow this is actually really cool this is a Samurai helmet from late Ido period when is that early 1600s to basically 1868 I believe somewhere right around in there you know you had the Emperor who was like the king and then you had the samurai which was sort of like the Royal Court they're basically the equivalent of like dukes and Earls in England when Fred hears Rick's offer of $1,250 he has Rick for 2,000 to do better despite pointing out that Fred was happy to accept $300 Rick raises his offer to ,500 so how much would you take for it what will you give me 12250 I got to do a little better than that you only wanted 300 to start with so what would you take for it well I think after what I've learned about it today I think we got to have at least two for it 1,500 R asked him to do better and Rick offers 1,600 still not satisfied red presses him for $50 more uh come on you better than that 17 I'll go 16 1650 all right 1650 all right let's go right it up just goes to show when you go into an antique store in a small town every once in a while you can find something I think I can sell it quick Rick is pleased to pay $1,650 for the helmet because though he met his match in negotiating he stands to make a fortune off the rare unique 1955 Playboy comic prints Cory lightly teases a client who brings him antique play boy comic prints that he found tucked in between some old magazines he bought at a yard sale hey how you doing pretty good I bought some magazines at a garage sale and these were tucked in between the pages they say Playboy on them shopping for used Playboys [Applause] huh I came down to the pawn shop today to sell my 1955 Playboy comic prints I think these thing can be worth some big money just because they're old and they're from Playboy I basically got them for free and I'm ready to cash in so you got the out of yard sale huh yes sir all right you know much about them or this one says October 55 this one's December 55 okay he then explains how the comic strips were used to help Playboy stand a level above smut magazines considering how collectible vintage Playboy items have become Cory knows that dated cartoons can make him a lot of money yeah this is not very long after Playboy got started I think U Hefner worked for Esquire magazine and asked for a $5 a year raise and they told him to go pound salt so he got a $1,000 loan and um went out and started Playboy almost 65 years later we're still here talking about multimillionaire yeah Hugh Hepner knew how to add a Touch of Class to his magazines he had articles from famous writers and he hired some of the best known cartoonists to draw his cartoons it definitely separated Playboy from the typical smut magazine what they are is um the cartoonist would illustrate something to draw it out then you'd have to get approval for it and they would fly back and forth like that over and over again till they finally put it in the the magazine this one's kind of funny it's a cocktail waitress telling the bartender to cut Benson off cuz he just pinched her this one doesn't have a caption but I'm assuming the humor is is the guy that's laying in bed is looking up at his own picture as the attorney advertising in the hospital these cartoons are definitely a bit dated but it is original signed artwork and 1950s Playboy stuff has gotten real collectible the client asked for $100 per piece and Cory pauses hesitantly he then delivers amazing news he's willing to offer five times that 500 per piece the client snaps up the unbelievable deal without any hesitation so what do you want to do with them my man I'd like to sell them any idea of what you want for them I'd like 100 bucks a piece 100 bucks a piece be honest with you man they're worth a lot more than that me and my big mouth but um how about this I give you 500 a piece for that works for me I appreciate you being honest with me sounds good man let's motorcycle toolbox Cory cannot stop drooling when a customer shows him an item he desperately wants for himself a 1930s vintage Indian Motorcycle toolbox that the client salvaged from his neighbor's trash can how's it going what do we got old school Indian Motorcycle toolbox oh wow you might have to take a look at it yeah absolutely these are actually pretty cool man when you buy a car today you expect to have a car with a warranty and they're going to take care of it and fix it every time yeah back in the day they give you a toolbox with it I got this from my neighbor who was just throwing out old memorabilia from motorcycles and so I decided to grab it I believe it's from the 1930s you got something really cool here old Indians are awesome they were founded in the 1800s they were actually a bicycle company I'm assuming this was the one that was mounted on the 4 cylinder between 36 and 39 when the Sports scout came out oh the customer only wants 200 for the toolbox Cory tells him that it will likely sell for at least $11,000 the cool thing is with Indian anything is colletible so any idea what you want to get out of it 200 bucks well it's your lucky day man I'm telling you right now you got something really kind of cool here and I know what I can get for it I can sell this for at least 1,000 I'm kind of robbing you if I only give you two the excited client capitalizes on Cory's mistake and turns down the $400 offer he asks for $700 which he lowers to $600 and eventually $500 let me let me give you for you okay with that how about a 700 you wanted two and I offered you more than you were asking how about 600 how about four five do you know how generous I'm being right now I'm giving you twice as much as you asked for when you came in here let me give you 400 bucks and we'll call it a day all right all right got double what I was asking for so I'm ecstatic now that I have $400 I'll tell my wife I got the 200 and keep 200 Cory is so irritated at the customer's ambition that he refuses to offer a penny more than $400 eventually Cory is relieved when the customer accepts the $400 rather than leave with the toolbox and find a better price
