When Everything Goes Wrong on a Korean Island Adventure 🇰🇷 Overnight Trip from Seoul to Jebu-do

hello hello we're going to chudo today which is a day trip from Soul and it's a little island on the west sea and you can take public transportation to get there so it's a nice cheap day trip we're actually staying the night there so we're going to check it out and uh just see what there is to do there we thought we were going on a nice peaceful trip to see the winter ocean but Judo had a plan for us and we the unprepared had no idea what we were getting ourselves into Jesus Christ is - 9° right now perfect weather for a Beach vacation it takes a little over 3 hours by public transportation to get from where we live near shinchon station to chudo the main bus to get there is located right at sadang station and it leaves every 40 minutes or so made it to sadan so we're going to catch bus 1,2 outside exit 10 we thought we had about 30 minutes to grab a snack so we got some takoyaki to fill us up a bit before the hour and a half bus ride to J and suddenly we had to race to the bus as the bus arrival time went from 20 minutes to arriving soon and if you miss the bus you have to wait another 40 to 50 minutes or so but luckily the bus stop was right outside exit 10 made it on the bus and all of a sudden we were out of the city and into the countryside with the snow falling heavily despite the weather forecast stating it would be clear but it truly felt like we were taking a trip somewhere which is pretty awesome considering the total travel costs were about $3 we got off bus 102 at chuu are the entrance of J [Laughter] [Music] we ordered the which is a huge meal with a ton of panchan or side dishes chukum or spicy pork kod or salt macel and even Kang Kang which is raw crab marinated in soy sauce this is Kang Kang and this is actually the hardest for most foreigners to eat really good solid place for sure oh why is so SL it's kind of like a place that's easy to predict I guess like if you just want like something standard that's really good then that's a solid place to go right now we're kind of I'll have to show on the map we're kind of on the entrance to chudo the island and there's a a little like Bridge it's kind of a bridge it's just made of a land basically of a bre and there is a little village bus that you can take from here to get there what do you think walk it just going to make it a little Adventure so we're going to walk it instead oh God it is uh it's cold and very windy and snowy so B the love okay money on it well I'm the taxi Tu PL be yeah that was a stupid idea so there we were trying to hail a taxi with absolutely no luck there was no schedule written on the bus sign either so we took shelter in the nearest convenience store which we are so lucky how many Korea has even in the middle of nowhere oh Nick on that [Music] fore so here we are again two idiots who don't want to wait 2 hours for the bus on a mission to cross the land bridge on foot to Judo for once and for [Music] all [Music] we now had a distinct answer as to why the bus wasn't coming for 2 hours it turns out jao's land bridge is affected by the tide depending on the day which we had no idea about but at times like this you just have to wait it out and luckily there was a cafe nearby the entrance that we could stay warm at this is a pretty unique Adventure so so far upate have oh I'm me I'm stoked cuz it's just like did not expect any of this you know just kind of expected it to be like going to Kung or something like that but it's more adventurous it's more like Countryside over here too and even just going to the the bathroom back there you like go through this kind of storage area with like definitely on the dangerous side but it makes it fun [Music] let's go all right two hours later let's watch some Dragon Ball in the cafe and oh there's people waiting at the bus stop oh so that's a good sign that it's actually coming as we were waiting for the bus a street cat came over out of desperation from being so cold and when we boarded the bus the cat also decided to go to Judo together it definitely looked like it was going to be a cold trip and the street C followed us when we got off the bus so we felt like we had to help it out in some way [Music] [Laughter] [Music] spe again Jesus Christ the again Jesus oh jeez it's a older building let's see what this place is like but it's 40,000 one night oh oh oh it's ohce view Ocean View this would be such a good place in the summer too with the like little kind of bar seating out there in the balcony there's a fullon like kitchen here got a fridge a rice cooker table here for eating with some stools Yi could you pu place oh nice we warmed up in our room for about 30 minutes or so and headed out for the reason why we came to chudo to get some fresh seafood there are amazing seafood places all over Korea but the place to do it is usually right next to the ocean and we had a toig or Clan barbecue place lined up to enjoy our evening next to the cold winter sea 5:00 this is really nice actually it's like - 10 right now with wind chill it's probably -5 to - 20 so we're just going to do a short tour and go straight to the [Music] restaurant [Music] don't really know what we're doing but uh oh this one's strong dip it in the toong there we go so before I came to Korea I always ate like western style Seafood right if you go to like a bar you can just get like muscles and it's like it tastes kind of like the sea which I was never a fan of I came here and there's chojang r that open up a whole new world of seafood for me Korea created the perfect sauce to eat seafood with you know it's like [Music] magic at first it was like hard to know what to do we both don't really eat this that often you know I think this is our second time we've ever had this before but the the guy in there kind of helped us out a lot and allowed us to get more comfortable with just like knowing what to do you know and he did a lot for us too like he cut up the oysters and all that kind of stuff so I thought like overall I was happy with the experience like it's not like the cleanest of places or anything but I don't know I I enjoyed it this is a perfect Beach vacation yeah yeah maybe if you're coming in the winter check the weather before you [Applause] [Music] [Music] come [Music] we woke up the next day and it was even colder most of the businesses around were closed so we had a classy breakfast at the 7-Eleven and took the village bus again to get back to the mainland and then another 2 hours or so back to Soul it actually ended up being an amazing trip despite the things that went wrong and I find a lot of the time it's actually trips like these that I remember and laugh about the most later on but unfortunately for us we still have one more challenge to [Music] endure we're just acting but uh we actually felt like this this is like 2 weeks later thanks for watching the video
