why not put a cement statue or better yet a stone statue with a proper artist, bundaran hi statue looks decent, that thamrin horses statue looks great, the crocs surabayan statue, garuda statue in bali, it stood decades most importantly.
Yang gw ngga sregnya tuh munculnya nih instalasi karena si Anies tuh dikatain pas Asian Games lalu dia pasang bendera negara peserta pake bambu. Karena dikatain kampungan lah, ato merki lah, dia berusaha membuat statement kalo bambu tuh dapet bernilai tinggi. Intinya, si Anies tuh bikin nih instalasi bukan karena dia perduli seni, tapi karena dia ngerasa harga dirinya jatoh di acara internasional gini, jadi dia damage kontrol buat nyelametin muka. Ngga penting apa pendapat seniman dan segala macemnya; karena tujuan dibikinnya tuh bukan art.

i mean, i probably hate Anies as much as you guys (and im BTP supporter), but please don't attack the artist.
I happened to visit Bundaran HI last week and honestly the art installation itself is aesthetically decent, not bad in any measure. Yeah, 550 million is still a lot of money for us, but i really believe that this kind of hostility is too excessive.
