- What the heck? (saw whirring) (ladder clattering) (footsteps thumping) (bike crashing) (electronic wooshing) - Have you ever heard of such a thing as an uncuttable lock? We did a video where we
cut open like five or six of the toughest locks that you can buy. (saw whirring) And it seemed like an angle
grinder could get through every single one of them. And people in like New York City and LA, when they get their bikes stolen, people are going around with a portable angle grinder and they're just going (growling) and then they steal the bike. For now, Lincoln. - Yeah, that's gonna be uncuttable. This thing is. - Hold it.
- What the heck? What the? - It's so heavy, this is it. - [Lincoln] Why would you
put this on your bike? Why would you carry this around? - So your bike doesn't get stolen. - Yeah, but like, if I needed
ride my bike to school, I would just use a
normal little bike lock. - And then your bike
would get stolen and bam, you lost your bike. - Yeah, but would you carry this? - Put it in your backpack. - I feel like it would go
right through my backpack. - It is very heavy, but to be
fair, if you want something to be uncuttable, it's probably
got to be pretty thick. It looks like it has some
layer of foam on the outside and some rubber and plastic on it. And then, of course there's
some metal inside of it and it has these giant keys. You open up this little window right here, stick the key in there. - [Lincoln] It's like actual
house key or something. - It's a big old key. - [Lincoln] That is crazy. - Got it, got it.
- Whoa! Look at that. - Wow, okay. So the inside of this
is all metal right there all around it and then
you just have the bar that goes in and locks into place. The real question is, can I cut into this with an angle grinder and
stop my fancy, electric bike from being stolen. We're gonna test that out,
but before we cut it open, I wanna mention today's
sponsor which is ExpressVPN. While your bike and your
hardware stuff is something that you'd wanna keep safe, how much more important is
it in today's digital age to keep your personal
information digitally safe? And the place that I usually see that it's the most benefit
for me, is I travel a ton and I'm always on public WiFi. When you're on public WiFi
and you're not using a VPN, you open yourself up to
the best place for hackers. ExpressVPN will digitally
encrypt all of your information so that when you're on
public WiFi, it makes it so much harder for hackers to actually see what you're doing on there. Express VPN has servers in
94 countries around the world and you can easily with
one click just connect to the server that fits you the best. ExpressVPN has a special

than $7 a month for you to get ExpressVPN and you have a 30-day money back guarantee. You can visit expressvpn.com/whatsinside to learn more about that special offer and I'm gonna show you how to
keep your bike safe right now. - It's pure metal. - Typically, this is what people use to just snap the little cable. (laughing) - [Lincoln] That was ridiculously easy. - Obviously, this is not going to snap it. Maybe the inside metal part, but you're not gonna
be able to get to that. So we've got a four and a
half inch angle grinder. We're gonna see if we can cut into it. We are just at our house
so it's a little tricky because we don't have
an official bike lock. So this ladder is going
to be our bike lock. We're going to use this Super73, which has had some problems for us. Somehow it's completely dead. It just won't even charge
up and it won't even run. - It's been like this for like a year now. And we've been trying to fix it. Like, first the throttle
wouldn't work and then, yeah. - The throttle was stuck
where it was super scary, you couldn't stop the thing. At one point I was
riding it and the giant, really cool-looking headlight didn't have the proper brackets on it that they send with it. And it fell off and
got stuck in the spokes while I'm cruisin' and then
the kickstand fell off. So this bike has been
nothing but problems for us. - Yeah, it's been bad. - And so, if for some reason, if we slip with the angle
grinder, I don't feel so bad. Alright, I think we're
gonna put it right here. And then, okay, okay, twist the key out. (metal rattling) It's locked into place! Oh no, my bike is stuck to a ladder! What am I going to do? Oh no, I lost the key.
- Oh no, where'd the key go? - Oh, you don't actually
throw the key. (laughing) He threw the key away. I'm a thief, and I come up on
the streets of New York City and I'm gonna cut this bike lock open. How long would it take me? There's gotta be a certain time period where the thief is like, "You know what? "People are noticing me
with an angle grinder cutting a lock." (sawing drowns out speech) Here we go. (light music)
(saw whirring) (intense music)
(saw whirring) Dude, I definitely cut down in it. I cut it a ton, but it's so dang thick that it's like I didn't
get down to the bottom yet. I'll try just a little
bit more but I feel like at this point, I'm still
not into it and the cops would be coming or somebody
would get suspicious with me. (intense music) I actually have cut a bunch
out of that, just like metal and then this plastic
that's on the outer layer. I mean, that is some thick stuff. And I'm... There's still quite a bit to go. I mean, I guess if you
probably do the math, and you're using this
four and half inch blade, you can only go down a
couple inches on this thing. And then it hits the metal circle of this. I'm kinda stuck at this point. You could get, a potentially, a seven-inch metal cutoff and maybe that would work. Typically people aren't carrying around a giant angle grinder. It's one of the smaller ones 'cause bike locks aren't as hard. You see that thing? I don't think any thief is
going to wanna steal your bike so good job on that side. But I am curious, what if the thief just cut the frame of your bike off? - [Lincoln] So you're
gonna cut the Super73? - I mean... (saw whirring) (upbeat music) (saw whirring) (bouncy music)
(saw whirring) I just cut this entire
thing off the frame. Now there's a hole there
that still may not even be big enough for the
bike lock to go through. (metal clattering) - [Lincoln] Let's just
take the ladder with us! (chucking) - [Daniel] Put the bike lock through it. - [Lincoln] I'm trying! (ladder clattering) Yes, it's our bike! Let's go! (bouncy music) (footsteps thumping) (bike crashing) - That's how you steal a bike. You cut the frame off, because the uncuttable
bike lock is too massive. Either way that's too much work. - There goes our bike. - Uncuttable bike lock. It's all it's cracked up to be, or not cracked up to be. (chuckles) - You're sweaty. - I'm sweaty. Stealing bikes is no joke. It is not a hard thing. Don't steal bikes. But if you do, don't steal bikes that have that giant lock on it. Maybe don't cut the frame off. Although that was quite
effective and way faster. - Or, we could have taken the ladder. - Or steal the ladders. Expressvpn.com/whatsinside boom. - Thank you for sponsoring. (somber music) - [Daniel] This is as far
as we got when we cut it. That's it right there. The whole bottom is totally fine. Look at that cut we did in it. This thing is so massive. Maybe it is effective
even though it may not be that realistic with how big
it is to put in your bag.
