when the owner says please don't remove his muzzle we respect their wishes especially when it's an American Akita this is Baron and he is seven years old good boy good boy Baron good boy you're shedding a lot so I can see why your owner is wanting to be here Baron has never seen a groomer before due to his extreme reactivity at the vet and stranger danger the owners were very worried about having him groomed I approached Baron by kneeling on the floor making myself look small and non-threatening I started by brushing giving him reassurance and using the dryer on him so I wanted to see how his behavior would be prior to getting his coat wet Baron's history is mostly unknown he was found tied to a fence due to the obvious damage on his ears I would assume he was involved in multiple dogfights he was up for adoption for six months in a kennel before he found his forever family unbeknownst to the new owner he had some serious aggression issues in order to get his nails clipped Baron had to be put under anesthesia unfortunately even after Double the dose the anesthesia didn't work the veterinary staff was too afraid to approach him so the owner had to give him the anesthetic reversal agent herself so as you can see Baron's family has good reason to be concerned about his grooming appointment but so far he seems to like me I was told he isn't food motivated unless he gets pepperettes so today he can have whatever makes him happy foreign I'm bathing him today in deep cleaning shampoo and de-shedding shampoo if you're looking for pet grooming products they can be found on my website girlwiththedogs.com yep you get more treats because you were a good boy good boy good boy Baron Baron how much you're shedding like a bad man good boy if you're anything like Kuma you will like the blow dryer at this point both Baron and I started trusting each other he showed me no signs of reactivity and I was confident enough to continue with the groom so confident that I even talked myself into trying to trim his nails Baron is not wearing a happy hoodie today because if he tries to pull it off his head he may take the muzzle with it boy I brush your tail and then you can have another one you don't really like having your tail Touch Too Much your tail is shedding the most out of anything on your body it's quite the same effects don't even think about it Audrey Berry before we get a treat shake the Paw good pop oh I got it here and Shake it for all one good boy yep okay I was only able to clip one very long dewclaw but I'll take today as a major win for Baron and his owners after his groom he happily destroys my yard Baron's family was ecstatic to hear how well his groom went and he was very happy to see them I see a lot more successful grooms in his future thank you all so much for watching I hope you enjoyed the brave Baron
