hello my name is Dana Sanders former NFL running back turn fitness trainer we are here today at Fitness evolution in Seattle Washington with livestrong.com today's question what type of weight training should an obese person do now I don't like to say obese I just call them big bone you know so I have some suggestions for you and these will work alright usually when I'm working with certain people with little extra weight I like to keep them moving and what I do is I set up stations like they'll have a station where they're doing step ups a station where they're doing curls our station were doing obliques and one we're doing deadlifts that's just to get them started so for instance the first one is right here it's a step up and they will step down and usually this takes place in their home because most of the people I work with don't aren't really too comfortable boning the gyms so they'll do this then what will happen is they'll step off and go with your other leg step up and down and we usually list about 35 to 45 seconds and my main goal is to keep their heart rate up next thing they'll come to the next exercise curls bicep curls the same thing you want to keep your elbows against your body and you wanting about 35 to 45 seconds all right then we head over to deadlifts the reason we do the deadlifts because this is one of the harder exercises in the deal and it wins them it really works the cardiovascular so I have them do is put their feet about shoulder width apart squat head up bring the weight up and down up and down again 35 45 seconds the next thing they will do this is for the obliques and on the side and pull stretch down as far as you can and pull stretch down and pull and again all these exercises are right about 35 to 45 seconds then you'll get a break for about 10 to 20 seconds and it starts over again and those are my suggestions for the type of workout that obese or big-boned person should do again my name is Dana Sanders live strong calm and remember happiness is a choice choose to be happy live strong
