What to Say When You are Uncomfortable Praying Aloud

[Music] you are you comfortable praying aloud with someone if so good for you I have wonderful friends who safe allowed a prayer for me and so meaningful and special and sensitive but that's not me I am uncomfortable praying aloud with someone and yet I know the power of prayer and I also know that God tells us to pray for the sick so here's what I do when I pray aloud for someone I ask their permission would you like me to say a prayer for you and then I ask them what issue are you struggling with today don't assume that you know what is up most in their mind today ask them if you don't know what their issue is and then I usually take their hand and use their name in my prayer and then I say a simple prayer several years ago when my mom was in a nursing home at the end of a visit I said may I say a prayer for you mom and she said yes and this is what I said dear loving God thank you for being with us in the good times and in the challenging times my mom has that she needs patience she needs patience when she brings for the nurses and they don't come and they don't come she needs patience because her roommate talks all the time she needs patience because physical therapist is so crabby pleased I felt my mother stop and think and remember to have patience health and power Kerr thank you for hearing our prayer today and responding when we pray aloud with someone we are acknowledging the power and the presence of our God I am uncomfortable praying aloud with someone but I can pray aloud for a suffering thread and so can you
