What to look for when picking a GOOD Fishing Rod

[Music] foreign last week's show then you know me and my buddy David buff wrote all the way to Kentucky that's what I'm talking about right there to the 2023 catfish and crappy conference and Expo oh yeah and we took my neighbor shut up the police are on their way what gives you the right come all right hey I'm filming what you want well at these shows they have thousands of fishing rods so I thought while I was there I'd stir up a little bit of trouble and ask them all who had the best rod chris4 is my hero what makes your rods better than everybody else in here why would I buy it sell it to me why would you buy it number one reason that you would buy my rod because you're a muddy river supporter aside from that one thing that I did do to make mine stand out from others is we get this rubberized non-slip grip most rods are EVA foam grip or pork handles and I want to do something a little different that help us stand out a little bit and we get this this style grip and it's a little bit thicker so you don't have to close your hand as much but a lot of people say that once you hold this you don't want to put it down then you want to buy this rod that's one of the biggest reasons customer service honestly I don't I don't care if I make a dollar as long as I'm making people happy and dissatisfied with my product that's that's where I come in but one of the things that we started doing is we we can do a personalized Rod if you want to do a special gift for someone or you just want to make it to stand out for yourself we can put your name on it and do a little bit of artwork I have a very talented artist that can do custom work for for my clients can you put fishing and stuff up I can put fishing and stuff on so you can do YouTuber rods you can do YouTubers one other thing that a lot of my clients say is once they pick this Rod up it's super light lighter than most rods out there but it still has the backbone and the and the soft tip a lot of people like this Rod man so if you want to buy one I'll make a good deal when you tell a man with a fishing reel on his head huh Rod oh what makes your rods better than every other ride that this catfish covers and well I say about seven why you should buy a catch the fever Rod I can answer that so one thing you'll find is there are companies that out there they'll just grab a ride put something together uh really quickly and just say here our customers are buying I guess fever that's the last thing we want to do when we went to develop to catch fever rides whether it's a big cat fever ride a striper Rod catfish comes you know I don't know that they're better but you know the unique thing about our rods are they've been around for 15 years so that's that's a that's a big deal they were designed by catfish Anglers or catfish Anglers so this is our Legacy Rod this is the rod I was talking about been around 15 years lightweight first thing someone says when they pick up this Rod is wow why is it so light it's a composite blank graphite S-Class and it just it's an awesome Rod to cast when you're fish you can really feel that fish and it's just a good lightweight rod and Jeep this Rod has a nice composite reel seat lightweight but you know a lot of Anglers want the aluminum reel seat they want to kind of fancy their rod up they're wanting to fight those big sharks we put the aluminum reel seat on there you don't need it but Anglers think they need it sometimes so we want to give the Anglers what they want so we dressed up our 15 year old blank and came out with the high definition more eyes more epoxy bigger handles aluminum reel seat again lightweight I mean this thing is light don't forget we had an underwrapped guys that helped pushing the blank a nicer foam handleable fish and added a few extra highs on this Rod it's really a beautiful Rod just a lot more quality components on a garage and I'm a big big fan of light rods the guys over ripping lips actually gave me a couple of rods to try out which is freaking awesome because we gonna find out how hot they are okay so I got several rods laying here I gotta tell you before I start all of these rods are really light especially the ugly stick I'm just using it as a comparison I used to really like these gx2s and there's nothing wrong with these rods but if you ever catch a 60 pound catfish on one of these rods versus any of these rods they just don't have the backbone these rods have but you can get them at a great price and they will reel in a 60 pound fish if this Rod was going to break I would have broke it this way this gx2 just for reference it's about nine ounces that's pretty dang like I got an old whisker Seeker here I don't use much sway it so the whisker Seekers about 11 ounces next I'm gonna weigh one of my brand new hellcats I'm not affiliated with anyone by the way I always buy my own stuff yeah it's pretty dang obvious which rods I like the best but the hellcats 1.01 give or take it's about 12 ounces so you're ripping lips is going to come in around 12 13 ounces don't get this mistaken every single one of these rods are very light the Hellcat was only three to four ounces heavier and four ounces ain't that much you wanna know what four ounces is it's a pair of scissors that's what four ounces is and these things don't weigh nothing but I need to point out something else too to make this a fair comparison the hellcats have aluminum Reel Seats and the other two have composite Reel Seats so you want to get right down to the brass tacks that's pretty dang impressive for aluminum Reel Seats oh hey I'm Joe Whiteley with tangling with catfish today we're going to tell you about our bumping Series this is our bump and Rod that we released last year took us four years to develop the rod we obviously try to come out with a rod that's reliable dependable sensitive went through many prototypes over four years I ended up on this rod from House of Ross why is this Rod a winner I think it's two points of compact a lot of bumping rods out there have split Reel Seats which a lot of people don't like we didn't like but when you're bumping you have contact here and then you also have contact above your reel on your line like your brain so you have two points of contact and this is I think is sensitive or more sensitive than any bump and Rod on the market what we try to do with tangling with catfish is bring great products with great customer service at a fair price it's very hard to do anymore in today's market but we were able to develop this Rod here at the Camp Fitch conference our bump and Rod we're able to sell for 115 dollars you get a rod made like this by yourself on a private basis you're looking at 250 to 300 so that's our bumping series back here we have our EXT series that's our original series somebody will remember the name extreme that's where that started these are seven foot six rods great rods aluminum Realty stainless eyes we haven't different colors the original the blue and black we have the red and white the green the orange and then the Monster Rod this is the rod we developed and designed with Steve Douglas from Monster Rod Holders this Rod's been a great ride for us as well so our exchange series is for stronger current uh more weight with a stiffer tip then we developed the whiskowitz series and this Series has a all the same quality aluminancy stainless size but a much quicker tip that quicker tip when it's a light light maybe high pressure less current this Rod will allow you to catch fish that maybe you wouldn't catch on a sniffer tip rod that's kind of our our lineup why they gotta take his Rod into Burger King I don't know he was trying to catch a Whopper [Music] all right I'm over here with Mad Catz and tub and Tackle sell me your rods what makes your rods better and all the other rods in here I fished a lot of fishing rods and uh growing up I've had mag cats and found some mad cat rods and I got into them and uh all different colors S-Class stainless steel eyes um some good rods I stand behind them catch them pulled in and trophy fish you use them right why use them I use them uh because they're the best rods on the planet [Music] how about you tell me why I should buy your Rod when there's this many rods in this place what makes yours the best well let's see yeah throw away double wide rods are the only yak and youth rods on the catfish Market at this time there's some used rods there's some yeah garage there's no combination Rock what makes these rods special they're both the same we got a five foot six foot version they are a 24 ton carbon fiber y composite mix which makes them stronger basically these rods are built to catch saltwater monsters that's what carbon fiber rods are best known for however we wanted to bring that into a short rod for the catfish conference for the Youth and kayak games it's compact it's five foot six foot lower end butts only seven inches inch and a quarter round so it's thinner shorter lower center of gravity gets the Real Close to You by strength they're ready for eight ounces like your big rods rated for eight to ten ounces we could do eight ounces just like the rest of them super durable super flexible yet still has that moderate fast tip so you can see that finicky Channel cap last but not least s glass e-glass fiberglass not much carbon fiber take 38 ounces over two pounds of weights and look at that folks it's not a lot of being in that Rod it's like the typical catfish Rod or the S-Class e glass that Rod bin is touching the ground the strongest little toughest rods on the market like the sign says there was a lot of Rod companies at catcon this year and if I miss your Rod I do apologize but it was pretty dang hectic in that place and I tried to get everybody that was there I don't think you'll go wrong choosing any of the rods on this video they're all good rods it's all personal preference and
