Lol the comment section is a mess. I support the cause of black americans and dont wish to downplay their experience, but its pretty damn hypocritical to say "you dont know what it feels to face racism as black person" as a way of downplaying anti asian racism when, THE SAME THING APPLIES TO THEM. If youre not asian, then you dont know how anti asian racism is either!

But it is good that this is getting talked about (asians might actually face more racism than black) in the open as it gives everyone a reality check (if it hadnt already)

Of course they fucking know. They're not cognitively disabled. Whichever white country an Asian looking person goes to, racism is always experienced to a certain degree, and they're well aware of their treatment. Furthermore, word seems to travel far and fast in Asia, especially in countries like S. Korea where the land is relatively small, the population densely packed, and social-media very prominent across all ages.

It is just a matter of will they effectively confront racism in a foreign world as they experience it? Doubtful. I mean, many Asian-Americans themselves who are well aware of racism against them on a daily basis are reluctant to make a meaningful stand, let alone baseless and powerless, Asian tourists.

Just goes to show that we (Asian-Americans) have the duty and responsibility to counter anti-Asian rhetoric out here in the west, not only for our sake, but also for Asians in Asia and for Asians throughout the world to come.
