What Ramadan is REALLY like in Malaysia

in the past few years I've traveled around the world to show you how Ramadan is celebrated in different countries and cultures and this time we go to Malaysia truly Asia now the first question we have for everyone is who looks better oh you need a catwalk ready [Music] now we're heading to the famous Ramadan bazaar market in Putrajaya okay I am four we are doing this transition we're gonna jump and then it'll show you us landing in the market all right let's just jump okay ready one two and Salama go did she Escape in the transition I'm excited to be here at the Ramadan Bazaar right here in Malaysia what's beautiful here is the fusion of all these different foods I can smell it I can essentially taste it right now let's go the advertising of this is like another level this is the I am going it's rolling chicken they call it and that kid looks like he is enjoying that stuff this is your son why did you put your son he likes your chicken yes so he's in all your marketing I love it keep it in the family tattoo Echo and I'm getting really hungry man what's the best thing about Malaysia during Ramadan food acceptance of every people it's the people and the wives alhamdulillah what are you man the food over here these guys love their food so what the topic is is these light pieces of dough are flattened out here and made paper thin then they're put on top of the cooker filled with egg onion meat you know whatever action you think can happen or begun they fold it and you get this Square delicious crispy pastry the cars you have to take a rest I'm a famous I love your honesty sister and now we're on to dataraputra which is the part where everyone gathers to have that as we hear the call to prayer we break our fast the Malaysian food was delicious and the surrounding was absolutely gorgeous now we're on our way to one of Malaysia's most beautiful mosques titled the iron mosque and it is absolutely gorgeous if you look there are no doors in the house of Allah is always open for people now we are with Imam rashidi who's one of the nine imams of the iron mosque so Imam how does the mosque change during the holy month of Ramadan every Ramadan put to 3 000 people will Gathering here to have iftar with our Jamal that's beautiful now in terms of specifics 70 of this mosque is made out of steel and it can house up to 24 000 worshipers at its capacity the mosque is separated into two equal sections one section for the women one section for the man to be able to perform their prayers we took the opportunity to volunteer at a local charity at this one Food Outlet over 3 000 people are fed every day it is just as nutritious and just as healthy as any other meal when you give to charity you don't bring it down because it's charity you actually increase the quality and there are people coming from all over just to get from Allah one of the things that Salam and I like to do whenever we travel to any country is visit a Center for Children and people of determination because it gives us an idea of the amazing work that a country and a city are doing to be truly inclusive and accepting of everyone we're going to see some of the incredible work they do to support children and people on the autism spectrum let's take a look salaam everyone our goal is to raise awareness by every country you visit to visit a center like this to show some of the incredible work countries and communities are doing to support children and people with special abilities children and people in the autism spectrum hi to learn is how to interact because it's it's a spectrum you might have children who are verbal you might have children who are non-verbal you might have children who are able to do certain tasks you might have some children who are not able eventually we had to leave to meet some of our incredible supporters and our community for our meet and greet whenever we host these meet and greets I always get nervous that no one's gonna show up I don't know why just always nervous like that no matter where we've been in our career or if like two people show up I think it would do don't think oh here we are also just open yeah [Applause] oh
