hi friends in this video we are going to learn about 748c595ic which is a shift register so without further ado let's start this video if you haven't subscribed to my channel then do subscribe and don't forget to press the bell icon so you can get notifications whenever i upload a new video these are my other channels do subscribe them as well and you can also follow me on facebook and instagram component list circuit diagram everything is in the description below [Applause] [Music] the 748c595 is an 8-bit serial in parallel out shift register with tri-state outputs a shift register is a device made with cascaded flip-flops where the output of one flip flop is connected to the input of the next flip flop and they share a single clock signal which causes the data stored in the system to shift from one location to the next location let's see the pin configuration of the ic so this is the ic it has 16 pins the pin number 8 is the ground pin and the pin number 16 is the vcc pin the pin number 14 is the data in pin the pin number 13 is output enable pin the pin number 12 is latch pin the pin number 11 is clock pin the pin number 10 is reset pin the pin number 9 is clock out pin and the all remaining pins are the output pins this is the symbol of 748c 595 chip a register is a storage device consists of flip flops a flip flop is a basic memory element that can store one bit a four bit shift register consists of four flip-flops similarly an 8-bit shift register consists of 8 flip-flops there are many types of flip-flop such as rs flip-flop jk flip-flop d-flip-flop and t-flip-flop but today we're going to talk about d-flip-flop this is the symbol of basic d flip flop it has two inputs one is data input and second one is clock input and it has two outputs q and q bar if we give one at the data pin and then we give a clock signal the data at the data pin is shifted to the output now if we give a zero at the input and we give a clock signal the output becomes zero now we have connected four flip flops in cascaded mode as you can see the output of one flip flop is given to the input of the next fill flop and all the clock signals are connected together now if we give one at the input and we give a clock signal the data at the input which is a 1 is shifted to the output of the first flip flop now if we give another clock signal the data is shifted to the next flip flop similarly if we give clock signals the data is start shifting now this is a shift register with the latch connected at the output now if we give the data as the input of the shift register now with the every clock signal the data is shifted at the output of the shift register now if we give the signal to the latch the data is sent to the output of the latch now let's give another signal at the input and see what happens 748c595 chip is consists of an 8-bit shift register and an 8-bit latch which is connected at the output of the shift register now let's see some example circuits made with 748c595ic [Music] oh [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so that's it for today's video i hope you have enjoyed this video for more videos like that stay tuned and i will see you in the next video [Music] me
