all right everyone i just want to welcome you all to the full story series this will be a compilation of all the projects on the channel that have been completed thus far so that way any of our new viewers that join us can watch all of them in one solid video anyway i hope you enjoy [Music] this is ask ketchum we all know him and how it took him 20 years to win his first pokemon league championship in alola most people think the same thing wow 20 years and he's still only 10 years old i did the same but what if i were to tell you that there is a universe out there where ash actually won his first pokemon league in the kanto region hi i'm ronan charizard i'm relatively new to youtube i grew up reading comic books and watching anime one of my first introductions to anime was pokemon back in 1999. ever since then i've watched every season of pokemon and played every generation of pokemon game one of the things that has always fascinated me was the theory of multiverse especially when it pertains to comics and anime this is something that has been highlighted more and more in recent years in the pokemon games starting in the sixth generation what i want to do is explore the multiverse of pokemon and experience the journey and the outcome in a different universe of pokemon like this one i've done what if ash was born in universe it's my first dive into the multiverse of pokemon and if you haven't seen it yet it would be greatly appreciated if you go check it out and while you're there smash the like button we're wrapping up the first season in the next couple of weeks and i have big plans going forward for season two but now for the reason we are all here what if ash won the indigo league let's explore this together to start off i don't think ash would change as far as his origin story he would still wake up late and miss his chance at his starter and get pikachu they still go through the hardship of pikachu not wanting to listen to ash and ash trying to catch a sparrow with a boulder okay well it was a rock but ash was a douche for throwing it at it and he got what he deserved ending with pikachu bonding in a lifelong friendship oh and not to forget he would still encounter misty stealing her bike again a douche and take off pikachu gets hit by lightning then it fries the sparrows then they lay unconscious until they see ho-oh thanks dexter what are you good for ash and pikachu then get to viridian city they learn about the pokemon league and they meet team rocket save the pokemon center roast missy's bike in the process and develop a stalker that would last for two generations then we move on to viridian forest ash still catches caterpie and pidgeotto ash beats team rocket caterpie evolves and then they battle the bug catcher it is here at this point we established that ash is a bad trainer this is the first major impact that i can see with change ash the events still play out as normal but is the conversation with the bug catcher that gets to ash and how he is compared to the other trainers from pallet especially gary and that he is a very weak trainer ash then asks the bug catcher how the bug catcher explains that during his battles with the other trainers from pallet they demonstrated an understanding of their pokemon its health and type advantage as to where ash just appears to be winging it and by doing this he will always be in last place this one conversation will resonate with ash for the rest of his pokemon journey ash still evolves metapod into butterfree and the bug catcher does commend him on his ability to wield butterfree but this doesn't offset what the bug catcher had originally said about ash [Music] after the events in viridian forest everyone moves on to pewter city they still meet brock's dad and challenge brock ash of course loses his first gym battle brock's dad then offers to help him and they supercharge pikachu ash returns to the gym for another challenge and the battle plays out the same way it did in the anime pidgeotto gets wrecked and pikachu cleans up the rest getting the win with the assistance of the water sprinklers going off ash chooses to leave declaring that he feels like he didn't beat brock declaring that he will return when he is a better trainer later ash is headed out of town misty in tow when brock stops him and tries to give him the badge this is where the second change happens instead of taking the bash ash sticks to his original plan and refuses to take something that he did not earn brock's dad still shows up and tells brock that he should travel with ash and live his dream of being a great breeder brock does do this but ash sets one condition that brock assumes a role of a coach to help him grow in the series this was a thing but here ash makes it a condition that he can grow with further cementing the change in his drive to win the league they head on to mount moon and things still go the same there brock gets zubat and they see the moon stone and they move on to cerulean city misty is still sketchy about it ash still sees the sign saying that he is a loser and they move on team rocket still steals the giant vacuum ash has to battle misty and team rocket interrupts the battle they get stopped and misty's sister tries to give ash the badge claiming that misty would have lost if ash used pikachu anyway misty is against it but this time so is ash he tells them that he won't take the badge that he doesn't earn and he will be returned to the gym when the sisters are more enthusiastic about battling and he can beat them fairly the group then moves on from serene city ash catches bulbasaur charmander and squirtle and then they enter at the lighthouse ash catches crabby meets bill and moves on to vermilion city here is where the next change happens ash doesn't have any badges they are at the pokemon center the kid comes into the with the rattata that is ko'd and ash asks about the battle and the gym leader and learns about surge ash goes on to challenge the gym lieutenant serge but the first battle they have would be a two on two instead of a one on one like in the original ash would use charmander and squirtle and serge would use voltorb and raichu charmander would beat voltorb quickly with a flamethrower and a skull bash charmander puts up a fight against raichu but is ultimately knocked out after all the taunting from serge ash sends in pikachu and it gets wrecked by raichu just like in the original then ash is presented with the opportunity to evolve pikachu but pikachu doesn't want to brock chimes in to help ash form a strategy for the next time that they battle a couple of days later ash heads back to the gym with a new strategy in hand ready for another two on two battle this time ash sends in pikachu to face voltorb pikachu manages to beat it with little to no effort but then raichu is sent out pikachu wanted to get his revenge but ash recalls pikachu sticking to the plan ash sends out his second pokemon but this time it's going to be bulbasaur brock pointed out that grass types have a type advantage against electrotypes and this means it could be more useful against raichu this gets more trash talk from serge about how pikachu was weak and it doesn't matter what ash does he still won't win this angers pikachu but ash reminds him of the plan overall the battle between bulbasaur and raichu doesn't last very long raichu does manage to take it out but not before taking a razor leaf and even more importantly getting hit with the leech seed ash sends back in pikachu this is where ash uses pikachu's speed to his advantage they managed to take down serge and raichu getting ash his first pokemon league gym badge this lights a fire under ash as he realizes that he is now severely behind the other three trainers from pallet we move on to the events of bye bye butterfree and everything here happens the same ash releases butterfree but for now then ash goes on to saffron city and challenges sabrina for the gym badge he still loses and he gets bailed out by her dad then ash misty and brock head to lavender town to secure a ghost type after ash literally dies he manages to convince hunter to join him but ash actually catches it with the pokeball this is mainly to simplify the rematch with sabrina but ash does let haunter hang outside the pokeball they all head to the saffron city gym along the way brock insists that ash and him have some more practice battles so that him and haunter can get in sync with each other ash then has a few battles with brock and misty learning hunters moves and abilities they finally arrive back at the saffron gym sabrina is not happy that they got away she tells ash that this time when she wins they will not escape the events play out a little bit differently though as sabrina wants a two-on-two battle ash wasn't prepared for this but accepts it and sabrina sends out a slow poke it seems to have the same link with sabrina as cadabra does ash calls for haunter but it's nowhere to be found sabrina tells ash that since his first pokemon isn't not present he has lost the first battle so ash has no choice but to go with pikachu after a quick attack and a thundershock soapboat goes down and cadabra comes out from here everything pretty much goes the same as the original kadabra dominates pikachu until haunter shows up and blows up in sabrina's face but here this is where it changes slightly this doesn't win the match but it does cause sabrina's concentration to split just enough for pikachu to land a thunderbolt with full power knocking it out the little girl by sabrina's side vanishes and ash realizes sabrina only ever wanted someone to play with he walks over to sabrina and he hands her haunters poke ball hunter gets sad but ash explains this is where it has to be but not to worry as he will call on it when it needs help sabrina actually thanks ash and hands him the marsh badge and they all head on their way in the next episode ash calls professor oak to tell him about how he got a second badge the professor states that gary has already earned five badges and caught 30 pokemon and tells ash that he needs to catch more of them then motivated by not having caught anything new manky enters the picture and ash decides to try and catch it the events all transpire as normal and menki evolves in to prime ape beating down on team rocket after a heated battle between charmander and primate ash catches it and they move on to sell it on city now on to the next gym all this stuff happens the same as in the original leading up to the actual battle but there are some things here that we have to fix this was ash's first three-on-three gym battle in the series but in the original when a pokemon battle was over both pokemon were done and the trainers would choose their next one but in this universe we will be using the rules that were established later in the anime both trainers will battle until there is only one pokemon left and only the challenger is allowed substitutions in the original erica went with the team of tangola weeping bell and gloom we won't change this but ash's team will have to change he will still use bulbasaur and charmander like in the original but instead of pikachu he will go with pgioto i believe that with brock taking more of an active role in his coach ash will know the difference of type advantages this is one thing that they would practice in their training together and after using bulbasaur against brock's zubat he would know that flying types are strong against grass types as a result bulbasaur would still lose to tangler but charmander would beat tangla and weeping though then lose to gloom ash then would just send out pidgeotto to battle gloom ash would realize that gloom's stink could be blown away with pidgeotto's gust and then a quick attack or two pidgeotto would take down gloom since we didn't have the hesitation on which pokemon he would choose to send in this results in the attack from team rocket happening later after the gym battle has already occurred this would result in ash actually winning the gym badge fair and square the rest of the episode would play out as usual ash ran in to save gloom and then they put out the fire on the gym brock catches vulpix and misty catches psyduck and we move on to the next episode this is the pokemon grand prix episode in this episode ash would have tamed primate and win the pokemon grand p in the original timeline then release primate never to be seen again but in our timeline ash turns down anthony's offer in favor of training primate himself for now ash's pride has become a driving factor in this decision he barely knows what prime ape is capable of and wants to be the trainer to discover it not some nobody that couldn't even win the tournament that they were training for in the first place so ash and the gang move on to the next episode this is where ash catches muck which is fine i always thought as a kid ash should have gotten magnemite but we all know that pikachu will only ever be the only electric type that ash catches so moving on we move on to the fuchsia city gym ash still battles with ia and after a whirlwind and a leech seed from bulbasaur ash beats ia and koga enters they start their battle koga still leads with venomoth and nash still leads with pidgeotto in the original pidgeotto was beaten by a combination of stun spore and sleep powder we all know that this combination of moves isn't actually possible but for anime's sake this will still be the case but pidgeotto does manage to push back the paralysis with gust hitting venomoth and then succumbing to the sleep powder ash recalls pidgeotto and sends out charmander charmander and venomoth still have their first exchange with flamethrower canceling out one another then team rocket interferes with the battle and after psyduck's pathetic attempts to stop them and voltore blowing up the gym the psyduck finally saving the day ash and koga resume their battle after both agree that they can ash wants charmander to get some rest so he re-sends out pidgeotto koga honoring the rules of a gym leader keeps in venemoth remember aside from sleep powder pidgeotto hasn't taken any damage but this quickly changes after a series of tackles and then a confusion from venomoth luckily pidgeotto does wake up from it and now that it's up ash decided to use pidgeotto speed to his advantage and has it attack with quick attack followed by a gust but both pokemon are starting to show fatigue and their next attack will end it koga orders tackle and ash orders quick attack the two pokemon collide midair with full force knocking each other out ash sends back in charmander and koga chooses golbat from here the battle plays out as the same as the original with goldbat losing to a flamethrower ash getting the soul badge this puts ash at four badges and he has started to close the gap between him and the other trainers from pallet they are all only one ahead of him with the exception of gary who is too ash finds this out when he calls professor oak from the fuchsia city pokemon center oak insists that ash closed the gap if he doesn't and he misses the registration for the pokemon league main event he will have to wait a whole year before he can re-register ash just finding this out makes a decision that will further divide this timeline from the original ash chooses not to check out the savari zone in favor of heading to cinnabar island and the next gym badge this mean he did not catch the 30 tauros and we will not have to violate pokemon's second amendment rights so moving on the next major stop in ash's journey would be showdown in dark city i think this would be a great way to showcase primate banash this episode has a lot of fighting type pokemon so it could have been ashes and prime apes episode to bond even closer the next episode ash encounters the march of the executor and everything happens normal including charmander evolving into charming but let's put a little bit more context as to why charmeleon does not obey ash in the original it was stated that ash wasn't experienced enough to have charmilion's respect and i mean who could blame him after ash caught charmander it quickly became the powerhouse of ash's team and when you have a chip on your shoulder it can cause an ego but here that role has been replaced by primate with ash and brock doing all the extra training the way they do it quickly becomes apparent to charmeleon that it has been replaced again remember it chose ash over its original trainer now just to be replaced again by a stronger pokemon but ash doesn't realize this dynamic and in the episode a problem with paris charmeleon acts out even more in the original actually trying to cause harm to paris the first time they battle but in this timeline kind of like in x and y when hallucia would pop out every time noir got in trouble primate pops out to stop charming to try and put it in the check this time because primate doesn't like charming's attitude it feels responsibility to keep it in check and it will do so any time char million steps out of line unfortunately this creates more of a divide for ash now we pick up with the events of attack of the prehistoric pokemon here everything still plays out the same until the point where ash tells brock and misty to go get for help he will stop team rocking brock chooses to go with ash as a result brock gets trapped underground with ash but this trade-off is james will stay above the ground the events underground play out the same as normal until aerodactyl attacks all these living prehistoric pokemon have caught brock's attention as he is a rock type trainer after all but now charmeleon wants to battle to avenge the scratch on his forehead an aerodactyl makes his way to capture ash and brock at the same time then heads to the surface while charmeleon and pikachu catch a ride back to the top because brock isn't there jigglypuff is delayed in its song but charmeleon still gets mad enough at aerodactyl forcing it to evolve what proceeds from here is an all-out battle between charizard and aerodactyl resulting in charizard actually winning with a seismic toss but it does not fall back into the hole in the ground like in the original but this isn't enough for charizard it wants more seeing this ash pulls out his pokeball and tries to recall it but it won't return and it still wants more from aerodactyl charizard goes to attack aerodactyl and brock readies a pokeball and tries to catch aerodactyl but jiggy lupuff starts to sing at this point and everyone falls asleep they all fall to the ground including brock with the pokeball in his hand causing him to drop it and it rolls the aerodactyl bumps into it and captures it ash still rolls and finds togepi's egg and the episode ends next is the events of bulbasaur in the hidden garden i think here we have to leave bulbasaur as is as it never needed to evolve and it made it very clear that it never wanted to evolve so we'll leave bulbasaur as a bulbasaur in the next episode we are introduced to butch and cassidy posing as top rate pokemon breeders in the center ah brock is immediately infatuated with cassidy this prompts him to leave hezubat with them once the secret of the breeding center is exposed due to them wanting a free meal because misty left her psyduck there brock gets back a goal that that has been freshly evolved and he uses it to stop butch and cassidy next we move on to the events of the next episode riddle me this ash's fifth gym batch ash runs into gary who gloats about his badges and being on vacation because he has been working so hard once on cinebar island brock tells everyone that he needs to head to the research lab ash and misty ask why brock goes into his bag and pulls out an odd looking rock brock says he thinks that this is a fossil he had found it in grandpa canyon and he wants to have it looked at once they arrive at the lab the lab does indeed confirm that it is a fossil and they tell brock if he comes back in a day they will have it ready for brock gets super excited and they head out and from here the rest of the episode plays out as normal team rocket attacks a lab ash uses a combination of pidgeotto and primate to stop team rocket then a thunderbolt finishes them off and then we head into the hot spring where they discover the entrance to the gym this is where they meet blaine and they start the gym battle ash sends out squirtle to battle nine tails and things go the same it gets ko in one shot ash sends in charizard but we need to fix this blaine swapped out to a ride on in the original timeline but as we said before we battle till there is one pokemon left standing only the challenger is allowed to make substitutions and in this timeline we are going to change things a little more ash sends in charizard to battle nine tails but it has no interest in battling and chooses to fly off to go to seed blane calls a forfeit on nash's part leaving it with leaving him with just one pokemon ash recalls charizard instead of using pikachu like in the original ash sends in primate and it makes quick work of the nine tails then for blaine's second pokemon we're going to change right on to raba dash because you know fire type gym fire type pokemon this battle does prove to be hard but primate does manage to take the gold against rapidash bringing it down to just one pokemon each that's when blaine chooses magmar but primate is now tired from the two previous battles and magmar manages to make a quick work of primate causing ash to lose the battle what follows is a week of intense training for ash one of the things that is developed real quick is that charizard and primate do not get along every time the two get around each other they try to fight and charizard still won't acknowledge ash but even more so is aerodactyl it's giving brock some trouble but not as much as charizard is to ash but some of this i think would be due to it not being familiar with humans it still looks at ash like a snack goes back to during the week brock goes back to the research lab and they give him his new prehistoric pokemon lord helix himself almanite then the events of the last day play out the same as in the anime with team rocket attacking the gym and destroying it after seeing magmar struggle to save its home charizard finally decides to help after some help in onyx and geodude the gym is saved and blaine decides to give ash another chance to battle charizard wants a chance to battle magmar ash and blaine agree to a one-on-one battle that all plays out the same as in the anime resulting in ash earning his fifth batch then they head to viridian city now normally the events of the misty mermaid would happen but ash chooses to head straight to the viridian gym the events play out the same as in the anime right down to gary trying to battle mewtwo and losing then prompting giovanni to leave the gym and leaving jesse and james in charge to face ash once ash misty and brock get back into the gym they are met with gary unconscious on the floor and jesse and james make their entrance ash chooses a challenge for the earth badge and everything plays out the same pretty much as in the original until ash sends him pidgeotto to use double edge as ash has been battling a lot more than in the original it evolves into pidgeot and with his new addition to ash's team he secures his win for the sixth batch rather easily much quicker than in the original now we can head on to serenian city in the events of the misty mermaid after the events of the show and seal evolving into dugong ash gets to have his battle for his seventh batch ash wants his battle to include misty and all of her sisters they all agree and choose the stipulation that they will each use one pokemon if ash can beat three out of four of the sisters he will get the cascade badge the battle order is decided as violet daisy lily and misty violet goes first and she leads with misty starmie ash uses pidgeot here is and pidgeot's new speed is too much for starmie and after a wing attack and a quick attack it's over ash thinks he's got it easy next up is daisy and she chooses seeking ash then decides to use pikachu and pikachu manages to take it with little effort next is lily and she chooses to use dugong and ash goes with bulbasaur unfortunately dugong's ice type attacks are too much for the bulb pokemon and it gets knocked out with an aurora beam last up is misty she chooses staryu ash wants to beat misty on her element so he chooses to go with squirtle after much back and forth as the two trainers know each other very well squirtle narrowly manages to take the win with a skull bash knocking out staryu in winning ash his seventh badge misty tells ash that she proudly presents ash with the cascade badge as she hands it over to him ash looks deep into the batch then turns to brock and says you know what this means right brock just nods and they head off to pewter city as ash and the gang head back to pewter brock tells ash that he's gonna go ahead he wants to get to the gym right when he gets into the city so that way he can see his family and get the gym ready for their battle they will have it first thing in the morning the next morning ash pikachu and misty arrive at the gym upon entering they are met by brock his dad and all of their siblings and yes brock's mom is there too because we are changing the timeline to match future events [Music] brock asks ash if he is ready and ash tells him this time won't be like the last brock responds you have that right he then proceeds to tell ash that their battle is going to be a six on six ash doesn't know how to respond he wasn't planning a 6 on 6 battle maybe a 3 on 3 or max 4 but 6 he asks brock if he is crazy brock responds ash you're gonna have to battle six on six someday at the indigo plateau why not get started with it in your very last gym battle before the indigo league after thinking ash agrees not thinking about charizard but the two get started and brock leads off with vulpix and nash chooses squirtle ashley leslie takes the first round but then squirtle is knocked out by brock's almond knight brock has really been working with it and aerodactyl getting them accustomed to the modern world and people ash then sends out bulbasaur which quickly takes out ammonite brock then chooses ascending golbat which does manage to take by bulbasaur with a wing attack ash then sends in pikachu and it does manage to cause damage to golbat but brock uses supersonic and pikachu can't stand it then golbat uses bite and knocks out pikachu ash a little bit flustered then sends in pidgeot and it manages to use a quick attack on golbat and with its speed and some quick attacks followed by wing attacks it takes it out brock answers ash's pidgeot with geodude pidgeot looks at you dude it runs revenge for last time that it lost to it in the first gen battle the battle starts and it is clear that geodude has the advantage but the bird pokemon won't give up after a tough battle the two manage to knock each other out next brock sends out aerodactyl this is when ash realizes that all he has left is primape and charizard ash doesn't want to but he sends in charizard the two pokemons stare at each other down charizard just yawns and goes to lay down ash pleads with charizard to come back but it won't brock does not disqualify it though thinking that maybe it'll come around but ash has no choice he has to make a move so he sends in prime mape it puts up a valid battle pterodactyl and brock are in perfect sink and primate can't stand up to them then aerodactyl hits primate with the rockslide at full force not enough to knock it out but it wasn't enough to get charizard's attention and it decides to step back in to battle aerodactyl after another round between the two titans charizard manages to take out aerodactyl but then charizard chooses to go back to sleep as soon as brock sends in onyx at this point brock does disqualify charizard he won't accept it twice but this leaves ash with just priming to battle but even though it had battled hard against aerodactyl it does manages to take out onyx securing ash his eighth and final batch after that the gang decides to head back to pallet town on their way they do encounter the mr mime at the circus and ash does run into his mom there they travel back to palette and this is where our next episode will take place during the events of showdown at the pokey corral this episode ash finds out that gary is astronomically ahead of him when it comes to pokemon and the badges that he earned but we are also going to include a partial part of the episode palette party panic as well they're throwing the party this time though for gary and ash as they are the only two to make it back to pallet town with eight or more badges team rocket attacks and charizard stops them then it goes on a rampage like in the original but this time primate tries to step in to stop it but unfortunately it is dominated by charizard you see this is the first back and forth that these two have had since charizard evolved and it is no contest this hurts primates pride and gary makes fun of ash on how he is weak because he cannot control his charizard and remarks that none of his pokemon would disobey him like that ash then challenges gary to a battle but gary says ash is beneath him in decline saying as a battle with ash would be a waste of his time then he leaves ash is so mad he needs to get stronger and he needs to tame charizard then professor comes over to nash and notes his frustration and says he has two months before the pokemon league starts ash asks professor what he could do in the two months to get stronger ah oak looks at ash and says he thinks it would be a good idea to take a vacation but not just any vacation a vacation of the orange variety so we pick back up with professor oak telling ash that he needs a vacation ash asks what the professor means oak tells ash about the orange islands and how there is something there that he needs him to pick up for him from the professor of the orange archipelago professor ivy oak also states that there are a lot of trainers in the orange island even one from kanto known to be a member of the elite four lives in there in the off season ash having heard of the elite four from brock knows who they are and would jump at a chance to battle one of them ash asks professor oak if he could have some time to think about it oak says sure so ash that's home the next day ash is called back to professor oaks for an emergency once he gets there oak says unfortunately that after charizard's outburst and rampage yesterday all the pokemon on his property are now fighting even gary is there and he can't stop them ash's crabby is doing the best he can to help but as it stands next to ash gary makes fun of it comparing it to his own saying that ash isn't a real trainer as he has never even worked with krabi before so it's severely underdeveloped this angers ash but oak reminds them that they don't have time for this they need to calm down all the pokemon the nash has an idea he sends out bulbasaur he tells oak that bulbasaur is great at keeping the peace so they get to work after a while they manage to get everything under control and oak was impressed with bulbasaur oak then asked ash about the offer to go to the orange islands and ash says he is going to do it oak then has a request to leave bulbasaur here while he is in the orange islands so that way he can keep the order on oak's property ash asks bulbasaur if it is okay with this and it nods hope then suggests that he take krabby with him it would be an excellent way for ash to train crabby being that the orange islands is an area predominantly made of entirely water ash agrees and grabs crabby's ball and then recalls it he gives bulbasaur's pokeball to professor oak ash misty and brock then head out later that day but the trio has a few stops to make before they make to their way to the boat in viridian city the first thing is the second half of pallet party panic ash brock and misty head out and they're attacked by the firo and the spiro and the pidgey and pidgeotto are unable to fight them off so ash tells pidgeot to take the pidgey and the pidgeotto to professor oaks they will be safe there then the group moves on to pewter city once there ash calls professor to confirm pidgeot and the pidgeottos and pidgey's safe arrival hope confirms it and asked ash if he would want pidgeot to be sent to him ash says no it would be best right now if pidgeot stays there just in case the firo and the sparrow come back then they head to the gym brock's younger siblings are getting close to the age of 10 and becoming pokemon trainers so he decides to leave geodude vulpix and ammonite there for his siblings to use to train brock feels that aerodactyl onyx and gobat might be a little bit too aggressive for them so they leave the three pokemon behind and move on to their last stop on their way to vermillion city this last stop will be the hardest especially for ash the trio arrives to a familiar setting a gym a ring haul and a familiar trainer with a punchy pokemon standing outside it's anthony and his hitmonchan ash calls out to anthony you see ash called anthony ahead of time and told him what is going on with priming and charizard after discussing things with primate ash made a very hard decision he asked anthony if he could train with prime mape while ash is in the orange islands ash wants to try and focus on charizard and is afraid that the more focus he puts on charizard that primate will suffer and he feels that is unfair to it so this would be the best option after a tearful goodbye ash hands anthony primes pokeball and says he will be back for it in two months when the pokemon league starts then the trio head to vermillion city and board the ship heading toward the orange islands this travel to the orange islands is long and this ship actually has a layover to another part of kanto where they will have to board another ship once they get off the first ship they are walking along the coast for a few hours to get to the location of the next ship on the way there ash missy and brock stop to have lunch when a trainer challenges ass to a battle now this battle does have a change instead of bulbasaur versus don fan it would be crabby versus don fan crabby managed to win with a crab hammer and as a result of the battle this causes krabby to evolve into kingler the rest of this battle plays out as usual ash winning but the most important part is that they are being watched from afar by a mysterious individual on monitors yes we are introducing the first pokemon movie it is canon and it would be a crime not to use it the events all play out the same until they get to the battle with charizard mewtwo says that ash's charizard is poorly trained and that its lack of obedience makes it weak this hits a particular nerve with charizard nash and then they continue to the battle in which charizard gets taken down by its clone counterpart this loss affects charizard its confidence has been shaken a little then we fast forward to the point to where the clones are battling each other and again charizard cannot overcome its clone counterpart even though the clone's special abilities were negated by mewtwo the rest of the events play out the same until ash has to stop mew and mewtwo's final attacks in this timeline the clone pikachu ends up in the crosshairs and ash sees this he runs to stop them pushing the clone pikachu out of the way getting caught in the blast then ash turns to stone all of the pokemon cry to revive him after ash's revival and mewtwo realizes the error of his ways mewtwo does what he normally does and erases the memory of everyone involved teleporting them away except with one exception due to the blast that ash encountered with mew and mewtwo this does not affect him or his pokemon because they are linked to him by a bond as a result ash and all of his pokemon do remember this encounter mewtwo seems to have no power over him ash misty and brock wake up standing at the pier ash asks where is mewtwo misty and brock say who ash says mewtwo the clone pokemon misty says she don't know what he's talking about he must have been daydreaming ash says maybe and then looks at pikachu he knows that what he saw was true brock says they need to get supplies so the trio head to the pokemart this is where the next episode starts the episode is a scare in the air this is where ash misty and brock win the blimp trip and head to valencia island where they crash land once safely on the ground in valencia island they make their way to professor ivey's lab once there they meet professor ivy down at the beach with her gyarados ash makes a comment man i wish i could train my charizard like she trains her gyarados she then takes them back to her lab to show them the gs ball she shows them that they can't transport the ball or get it open that's why professor oak sent ash they then go on a tour of professor ivy's lab and learn about her study of the environment on pokemon then two pokemon that ash has never seen before come out as they bring the food out they are revealed to be a slugma and a sun current ash asked about them as they do not appear in the pokedex professor ivey states that they have their own pokemon league here in the orange islands and as a result when a trainer turns 10 years old they come to her for their first pokemon ash asks where the water starter is professor ivy says that the trainer already picked up that pokemon yesterday and then headed out while feeding the pokemon brock is amazed at professor harvey's knowledge of pokemon and starts thinking to himself as they tour the rest of the lab professor ivey states she bred and raised all the pokemon on the island brock says really why is that professor ivey states that a lot of the i the pokemon on this island are not indigenous they were imported just like slugma and sunkern from other regions so she bred them here and raised them and as a result she gets to study them in all their different colors and the effects that the tropical weather have on them then they come to the butterfree that won't eat in which brock eats the pokemon food and then impresses professor ivy by putting berries on the food getting the butter free to eat later that night professor ivey exposes herself to stunsport from vileplum to save eradicate brock has a thought to himself which he spends the rest of the night thinking about the next day ash and misty are ready to leave but brock is nowhere in sight he is fixing the roof when he tells ash that he's decided to stay here and learn about pokemon ash asks what about brock's promise to help him train brock tells ash that there isn't any more that he can teach him they're now on the same level they're equals he tells ash that the rest he has to learn on his own but not to worry when ash needs him he will be there ash reluctantly agrees with brock ash and misty say their goodbyes and part ways from their old friend and then they board the new blimp bound back to the counter region with the gs ball when they are met with turbulence and interference from t rocket causing the blimp for off course we pick back up with ash and misty crashing into the episode the loss of in this episode ash and misty meet tracy as they try to prevent a group of young hooligans from harming an infant lapras after thwarting team rockets plans ash catches the lapras and tracy decides to join the team in hopes of meeting professor oak ash also talks to professor oak informing him of the problem with them crashing he also asked professor oak if he would be willing to wait for the gs ball as ash wants to challenge the orange crew oak thinks about it and he says he's fine with it but reminds ash that the indigo league starts in less than two months so he can't waste time ash acknowledges this and the new team sets off for ash's first batch the next episode fit to be tied everything plays out the same with squirtle and cedra tying resulting in the pokemon wave ride where ash uses labrus to beat blastoise earning him his first badge the coral eye badge next is the episode the crystal onyx in this episode tracy reveals his merrell and mentions that he had gotten it from professor ivy a few years ago and it was his first pokemon then we head over to the episode into the pink this is the island that is protected by whirlpools and ash and everyone gets washed up on this is where the next big change happens on this island when ash gets attacked by a rhyhorn instead of being teleported away by togepi he's saved by an old friend i told you this wouldn't be the last time we saw it butterfree that's right i feel this was a missed opportunity in the original enemy barterfy's girlfriend is literally pink just like all the pokemon on this island butterfree's shiny form isn't even close to pink so this just makes sense to me i mean they did fly across the sea after all i think the pink butterfree in this form is from the island so after spending some time with butterfree and clarifying with officer jenny that it is his pokemon ashley is better for his pokeball with officer jenny and says that he may call on it in the future then ash and butterfree say their goodbyes and part ways once again for now now we enter the events of naval maneuvers in this episode ash challenges for his second orange league badge the change for this episode is obvious it's going to be tingler normally where bulbasaur was the kingler is just going to do everything the same that bulbasaur did and do all the same normal functions the events will still play out the same with charizard in terms of melting the isolate for him to win the second round the struggle with ash getting it to listen though is getting to be much harder charizard isn't being lazy in this one it's more like it's kind of depressed you see the battle with its clone is still firmly in its mind it can't think about anything else it can't believe it lost so easily it couldn't even make one hit and dash hasn't been working with it like he said he would charge spending all of its time in his pokeball but after persistence from ash it relents using his flamethrower and the rest of the episode plays out the same earning ash his c ruby badge in the next episode snack attack this is where ash catches snorlax putting his team back to six then we move on to the events of tracy gets bugged tracy catches his scyther which is important seither is very competitive so this gives ash a new training partner in tracy and they do spend some time throughout their journey training getting ready for each gym and the final battle now the events of this timeline are about to change majorly normally ash would be at his third gym badge by now but this time we're gonna head into the events of bound for trouble this is where ash gets separated from pikachu by a pidgeot then later has to save it from a ride on but now when snorlax beats the ride on with a nice punch ash throws a pokeball catching it rydon gets transferred to professor oak after that will be the events of pokemon food fight in this episode we see ash break snorlax's pokeball and after the ordeal to transport it to the other side of the island to get the pokeball fixed at the pokemon center ash decides to call professor oak he transfers his snorlax to him in exchange for one of his other pokemon that he has had very little contact with muk now ash has a new team of six and he moves on to his third gym badge in this episode misty meets her match ash meets the third gym leader rudy who is obsessed with missy and makes ash take a test to have a gym battle with him in this challenge he uses pikachu kingler squirtle and muk to pass ash tries charizard but it doesn't listen and doesn't even really try to do anything not even a flamethrower on ash this does get ash's attention but he doesn't have time for it right now and he recalls it but then this just worsens charizard's depression then we move on to the actual gym battle rudy tells ash to choose the types of pokemon for their three on three battle and he will match them ash normally would use a grass type but this time he chooses poison as he has muck instead of bulbasaur the match comes and pikachu loses to elect a buzz then ash sends in muck rudy chooses to use a vileplume this does take some time as it is mock's first pokemon battle but it does manage to beat the vileplug with a sludge next the third battle between squirtle and starmie the battle goes the same as in the original up until squirtle uses water gun to escape the thunderbolt causing it to fly off the edge of the ring in the original squirtle learned hydropon to get itself back up in the rink but i think this would still happen but before it triggering its evolution into war turtle then the battle would proceed normally with war total winning ash the spike shell badge next are the events of pokemon water war and ash's new war turtle proves it has what it takes to hang and even lead the team of war turtle then we move on to the events of pokemon double trouble and nash's fourth badge in the beginning of this episode team rocket attacks and ash tries to use charizard but it has no motivation it just slinks off and then when team rocket makes their move charizard does try to intervene to try and be a hero to try and raise self-confidence but the island's gym leader and her alakazam step up killing charizard's motivation even more it can't even rely on its own power ash sees this and missy and tracy comment on it as well but ash doesn't know what to do he has to prepare for his gym battle as the gym leader has requested to make it a double battle later at the hot tub ash missy and tracy are discussing things about the gym battle and charizard ash doesn't feel confident as charizard has no motivation and he knows he will have to face the alakazam tracy mentions that a ghost or a bug type would be perfect for this match ash thinks to himself the next morning the battle comes and luana the gym leader sends out alakazam and marowak after a pause that seems like an eternity ash sends in his two pokemon in the regular timeline ash would have used pikachu and charizard but since charizard is still having issues ash changed up his whole strategy ash sends in butterfree and haunter you see the previous night after everyone went to bed ash made some calls and he called saffron city and spoke with serena and asked her to send haunter then he called officer jenny and asked her to send over butterfree the battle plays out the same with luanna having the edge over ash and butterfree and haunter having never battled together being at a disadvantage but after a while the two managed to get in sync and managed to take down the alakazam and marowak ernie nash the jade star badge in this next episode we're moving on to the mandarin island mismatch in this episode ash has a battle with a trainer and is tauros ash has started to gain a chip on his shoulder winning all of his orange league gym badges in one shot so when he can't beat this trainer and his tauros he sends in charizard but it doesn't want to battle until it is attacked by tauros then charizard attacks it beats tauros but continues to go on a rampage until stopped by prima i know in the games her name is lorelai but we're just gonna stick with prima because we're covering the anime on this one ash realizes she's an elite four member and challenges her to a battle at first she declines but after some consistent pestering from ash she accepts only for him to lose to her she tells ash that he has a lot of growing up to do and that he needs to realize his pokemon battle because they trust him ash tries to say she doesn't know what she's talking about but prima counters by saying that he doesn't even know that his pokemon is depressed stating that charizard is mentally not okay and as his trainer ash should have realized it this quiets ash and he leaves to go to the pokemon center thinking all about what prima had said the next day they head out and on their way to the next episode a way off day off here ash tries to spend time with charizard while it is just laying around ash would just talk to it and when it was tired of hearing ash's voice it would just get up and go and fly away ash continues throughout the day until team rocket attacks and scyther stops them charizard sees this and also helps out once team rocket is beaten charizard has regained a little bit more of its confidence but still it is in itself then in the events of the stun sport detour happen and charizard almost gets caught in a stun spore ash comes in taking the stuns war for charizard charizard sees this but does nothing misty ends up saving the day and catching poliwag and then finally we reach the events of hello pamela and ash's fifth orange gym challenge things are vastly different here ash registers for the match at the pumblo stadium but starts to consider his team ash calls for snorlax but it just ate and won't wake up and ash doesn't have tauros here he does consider ride on but ultimately decides to go with his current team pikachu muk labras kingler war turtle and charizard as they have been the ones traveling with him throughout most of the orange islands ash knows that it's a risk to use charizard but it's a chance he's willing to take if it'll help get through the charizard the next day ash missing tracy heads of the gym to face drake the undefeated gym leader the first half of the battle takes place as normal pikachu beats diddle and instead of squirtle war turtle takes out arnold's then instead of tauros ash sends a muck to face gengar once muck gets confused it is recalled and ash sins and lapras where the events play out the same resulting in a double knockout and a field change for the second half of the match this is where things change drastically for our timeline ash leads five to three but in the second half drake starts with venusaur ash chooses muck it does take some time but it does manage to take down the venusaur next drake sends in elect a buzz ash chooses to stick with muck but it is quickly overpowered by left a buzz ash then sends back in pikachu but it hasn't recovered enough and electabuzz quickly takes it out as well now ash has a problem and he knows it he has three pokemon left and all of them are weak against electric type attacks but ash digs in and sends in poor turtle it lasts longer than pikachu did but ultimately loses as well ash then sends in kingler by this time electabuzz is starting to wear down even though kingler takes a bit of damage from the electric attacks it does manage to take down electro buzz with a hyper beam drake then sends in his trump card dragonite with thunder it makes quick work of kingler leaving ash with just one pokemon ash sends in charizard charizard takes one look at dragonite and it starts to feel anger even though charizard is looking at dragonite all it sees is the charizard it lost to this makes it ready to battle it starts to attack but it's not obeying any of ash's commands drake quickly notices this and takes advantage and dragonite puts it down with a slam very quickly charizard struggles to stand up drake comments that due to charizard's lack of obedience both it and ash are weak this causes a flashback to what mewtwo said how charizard's lack of obedience makes it weak determined to prove them wrong charged or stands back up and continues the battle but again it is put down with a slam from dragonite this time knocking charizard ash is standing there in shock motionless he can't believe he lost not until misty and tracy call out to him does he even think to recall charizard ash turns to misty and tracy he hands them all of his pokeballs and tells them to take them to the pokemon center and then takes off before they can say anything drake sees this but does nothing several hours pass but misty and tracy haven't seen ash or heard from him they took his pokemon to the pokemon center like he requested now they are just waiting pikachu is also worried but it doesn't stick around the first chance it gets it leaves the pokemon center to go look for ash it is now nighttime on the other side of the island in a part underdeveloped sits ash holding the gs ball and looking into the sky he is thinking is this the end to his pokemon journey how could he even think of competing in the indigo league with his poor performance here this is the first battle ash has ever had that he couldn't re-challenge for if he lost so this is it he's the orange island loser he practically skated by in all of his gym battles to get here with luck and sure enough his first real opponent he cracks then someone asks him hey ash can i join you ash turns and it's drake ash is in one of his many training areas on the island what proceeds is a long conversation about ash's internal struggles and drake telenash he is a good trainer and explaining that in the world of pokemon there is always hardships and triumphs drake tells about how his family the dragon clan specialize in dragon types and that dragonite used to be a lot like his charizard but over time they came to respect each other then pikachu finds ash and after some much soul searching and they head back to the pokemon center where misty and tracy scold ash and he apologizes for worrying them the next morning the trio get ready to head off but not before some final words from drake he tells ash to remember he and his pokemon need to be one then states that there are many parts to the power of one as the trio sets off from the pomelo island towards the kanto region next are the events of charizard chills in this episode we see ash meet a young trainer in his polywrath after pikachu loses to it ash gets frustrated and sends in charizard now charizard has been brewing from his loss with dragonite and it is ready to battle but still won't listen to ash which results in it getting frozen by an ice beam the drainer tells ash that he was expecting more he tells ash that he came from the pumilo gym and drake spoke very highly of him and that he was a trainer with a lot of power but can see he was wrong then he leaves leaving the island the rest of the events play out the same over the night with ash just talking to charizard rubbing it trying to warm it up and charizard just listening but the next morning comes and the trainer unimpressed with ash has moved on so there is no rematch and the trio moves on to their next adventure next we're sailing in to shamudi island in the events of the second pokemon movie the power of one the events here are all the same but with two key differences one ash has muck which doesn't really affect anything as much just replaced snorlax and snorlax didn't do anything in the movie besides almost sink the boat what does matter is kindler since it replaced bulbasaur it can help with freeing moltres as bulbasaur did but since bulbasaur isn't here ash isn't exactly going to be able to make a pokemon bobsled team could you just imagine kingler walking sideways trying to pull the sled at the same pace as a war turtle and a charizard and we all know that ash will not hook up pikachu to pull him looking at his options realizing that he needs help ash sends out charizard he turns to charizard and he tells it he knows that he doesn't trust him and he can't blame him after all the things that they've been through and ash hasn't been able to see charizard has been struggling but he points to the battling trio and he says he really needs it now then he puts his hand out and looks down at the ground for what seems like an eternity then ash looks up and charizard has rested its head on ash's hand at this point ash knows that he has charizard's trust and he can rely on him to get him through this harsh battle charizard takes to the sky with ash and pikachu on its back the battle is tough and ash makes it back to shmoody island with the final orb bringing an end to the battle between articuno zappados and moltres at the end we see ash meet with professor oak oak and ash talk and oak offers a ride back to kanto but ash has to decline as he still has one more thing to do but ash does give the gs ball to oak so that this task is now complete and ash moves on to the final leg of his avengers in the orange islands now we see ash misty and tracy sailing along in the open ocean when lapras suddenly takes off in the opposite direction and into the events of viva los lapras this is where we see ash's lapras meet up with its school of lapras and after stopping the pirates of the orange islands or johnny depp whichever one you prefer ash and lapras say their goodbyes and part ways as ash heads back to the kanto region after about a week ash has finally made it back to the kanto region tracy is itching to go to professor oaks right away but ash tells tracy he has one stop to make first they head back to the fighting pre-one grampy gym and ash meets up with anthony after a brief battle to see how prime mape has progressed anthony gives hash back its pokeball and ash recalls it then they decide to move on to pallet town now we arrive in a tent situation ash misty and tracy arrive back in palette they head to professor oak's lab to greet the professor this is where tracy starts to get all fanboy over professor oak wanting to be his assistant once at professor oak's house ash gets to see his pokemon snorlax rydon and bulbasaur oak says rydon and snorlax have adapted well ash goes over to see snorlax and it just falls asleep then ash tries right on it's surprisingly open dash even though it had no time with him it charges that ash and gives him a big hug to greet it oak tells ash that rydon is actually a big softy but it does get very territorial around people or pokemon that it doesn't know then team rocket attacks we get the usual exchange with them battling and nash using muk and kingler to show professor oak how far things have progressed in their training but they ultimately get stopped by victory bells sleep powder and some rubber rings anyway then team rocket tries to snatch all the pokemon but they're saved by gary and his needle queen once team rocket is cleared out gary is thanked by misty and tracy and professor for saving the day and he has given a bunch of praise for saving them which he just eats up then gary turns ash and starts to question him and his abilities as a trainer ash tells gary that he just got back from the orange islands where he got a lot stronger gary asks ash did he win ash says no gary responds well then you're still the same loser that left here two months ago this angers ash and he challenges gary to a battle kerry smirks then says sure it's been a while since i've been slumming it this angers ash gary chooses nidoking for the battle ash wanted a powerhouse to go against nato king calls for snorlax but it's passed out gary just laughs and makes more fun of ash ash gets more heated and he gets ready to send in charizard knowing that it's finally accepted him and he knows that it can take needle king but then rydon steps forward remember it doesn't like pokemon it doesn't know in its territory and nidoking is one of gary's best so it's always with him as a result rydon doesn't know it because it hasn't been at professor oak's lab ash is okay with this and the battle gets started right on does have size and power on nidoking as it came from an island of giant pokemon but that's all it has after a while it becomes outclassed by needle king and it's superior training and eventually loses gary just says see ash it's the same thing i've said before you don't train with your pokemon as a result you're weak you couldn't win the orange league and you don't stand a chance in the indigo league and then gary just turns and walks away ash just stands there as gary walks off ash then tells pikachu to come on and they head off to the mountainside at the back of professor oak's property misty and tracy try to follow but professor oak stop them and then they head inside after a while ash hasn't returned misty decides to sneak away to go out and check on him but she doesn't see him or come to think of it she doesn't see any of his pokemon she then heads off in the direction that she last saw ash head and after a while she starts to hear a commotion and then she sees it or them there's ash pikachu bulbasaur war turtle charizard primeape pidgeot kingler muk rydon and even snorlax and ash all of his pokemon are all training together they're all there firing attacks at one another dodging with ash giving them commands even primapepe and charizard have decided to work together as a result they're all in unison now you may ask why is prime ape all of a sudden okay with charizard this is a very simple one primates biggest problem with charizard was the way it responded to ash once it recognizes that it respects ash primeape would be on board with charizard as a result charizard would no longer have any beef with primape and the two would respect each other's power anyway missy's watching they are all in sync she has never seen this from ash before he has a determination about him in a newfound unity with his pokemon misty just leaves confident ash is on the right path this training goes on for another week in this time tracy has been accepted as professor oak's assistant and misty just waits for ash as he secretly trains every day then comes the time when ash and misty must head towards the site of the indigo league the indigo plateau ash sets off with his team of six pikachu war turtle charizard prime ape muk and his newest choice to add some diversity to his team right on he did learn from his encounters in the orange island once he realized that his team was too water heavy bulbasaur has been too important to leave oak's lab for long periods of time so it has opted to stay behind and pidgeot is still helping the pidgey and pidgeotto just in case firo and spiro show back up because they have on occasion a couple of times snorlax still eats way too much and ash made the choice because kingler trained with him the whole time in the orange islands to leave it behind now ash figures that his team is the most balanced it can be on the way ash has a run-in with bruno of the elite four who was training in the mountains then battles a trainer who had his badges stolen by team rocket then he meets the pokemon league president and gets the chance to run the flame of moltres to the indigo plateau where he arrives to the site that he has spent the last year plus training for the first episode is round one begin there's a lot of changes that are going to happen here first is brock he's still in the orange islands so he won't be here to advise ash on his matches going forward throughout the league the next is gary ash runs into him before gary's match and he's gloating to everyone about how he beat ash which sets ass off but missy reminds him to remain calm as he has to plan for his upcoming battle this is where ash meets mandy and their exchange happens the next change comes when ash is called by professor oak to exchange krabby for the water field but as crabby is now a kingler and ash is a more competent trainer i think he would have made this change already he would have exchanged it right on for once he found out he was on the waterfield the battle would play out as normal with the only exception being that it was kindler from the start instead of it evolving from crabby after beating an exeggutor ash's second battle is on the rock field now we don't see the whole battle but we know that the last pokemon used by ash was squirtle but as it has already evolved we just need to replace it with war total and the match would just carry out the same with war turtle beating nidorino and gary gloating that ash is getting too overconfident and that ash will lose the next battle ash and gary both move on to the third battlefield after this what follows is the third round where we see the ice battlefield this battle would play out the same with kingler literally smashing cloister forcing pete pebbleman of pewter city to send in his arcanine that literally uses dragon rage on kingler man early pokemon was weird anyway this leads to ash singing in pikachu arcanine melting the field and pikachu committing pretty much what i would consider murder as the fire type pokemon falls in the pool of water that has been electrified but anyway you have to keep a kid friendly ash wins round three and moves on to the grass battlefield the next episode we see is the fourth round rumble this episode is very important because right off the bat we see gary battling a trainer named melissa the pokemon gary is using is the very same needle king that beat ash in his right arm after nato king failed to land a horn attack it is met with a seismic toss that knocks it out and even more importantly knocks gary out of the competition ash is super surprised when he approaches gary gary claims that it was just because he wasn't focused he also should have planned better as he knew the pokemon his opponent was going to have access to after proclaiming that it was just luck and that it won't happen again he drives off leaving ash in complete disbelief this leads us into the fourth round for ash on the grass field in the original ash used bulbasaur pikachu and surprising everyone muk to win on this field while i know bulbasaur was a beast here and muck won the battle i think ash would made one more change to his team swapping out kingler for pidgeot when he would all also call to swap out war turtle for bulbasaur i also think that ash would still win his first two battles with bulbasaur but when it came down to bellsprout bulbasaur would still lose forcing him to change pokemon then because gary lost ash wouldn't even take the chance at a tight disadvantage so he would send in muck immediately securing him the win with one pokemon to spare moving him into the main indigo stadium and now for the moment we've all been waiting for the moment that all the changes that have been made to the main story have been preparing us for the events of a friend indeed in this episode we see ash develop a bond with richie after spending a literal night hunting team rocket after stupidly giving their pokeballs to team rocket once they stop team rocket richie demonstrates his confidence as a trainer the two are forced to make pokemon parachutes in order to avoid being ran off a cliff man for an anime that was focused on kids they did often for with the concept of death way too much normally ash and richie would use butterfree and pidgeotto as their pokemon parachutes to save themselves but with ash having pidgeot and charizard listening to him i think he would try to flex on richie here and use them to get them to safety impressing richie in the process then we see the episode end with a reveal that ash and richie will face each other in round five now on to the episode in friend and foe alike in this episode we see ash take on richie in round five at the beginning we see misty pull up the pokemon league website to get info on all of the trainers and they learn that richie has only used three pokemon in every battle pikachu charmander and butterfree knowing this i believe that ash would do what he could to craft his team of six to not only battle the three most likely choices richie would make but any other of the pokemon he could potentially have on his team we know that ash would choose pikachu as one then in the same episode we know that team rocket does their best to keep ash from the match with richie in an attempt to capture pikachu and his other pokemon resulting in ash being extremely late to his battle during this transaction we see him use squirtle but as it has evolved it would now be a war turtle causing the truck to crash next we see ashes bulbasaur but i think because of it being needed back at oak's lab ash wouldn't have it so pikachu and war turtle would take out team rocket here meanwhile richie is still stalling for time for ash next we see team rocket attack from the air in which ash uses pikachu and pidgeotto to take them down then has pidgeotto pull him to the stadium on a balloon of team rocket but ash has pidgey out here so he would just ride pidgeot to the stadium it would be much faster and pidgeot being involved and not forced to pull a useless hot device [Music] in the original ritchie started with butterfree and astro this was ash's first mistake as squirtle had already been used against teamwork but ash being smarter knowing what which is [Music] and would have researched his team extensively as a result wouldn't use any of the pokemon that he had to use so ash only has three left and these three will be the most important three choices of his now the battle does take a turn instead of richie leading with butterfree richie chooses sparky to fill out the situation ash was just hoping for one of those original three and ash sends in right on ash didn't want to take any chances and ride on is the one pokemon ash has that provides the perfect counter to richie's three favorite pokemon richie tries to make the best of the type disadvantage but ultimately sparky ends up losing to ride on but this doesn't shake richie and he sends in happy ash chooses to keep in right on thinking it's his best shot but unfortunately happy is able to keep ahead up right on and he gets caught in a sleep powder then happy is able to hit it with the confusion putting right on down ash recalls right on he thinks to himself i didn't want to have to take a chance like this but this is richie and i promised him a good match ash digs in and he sends in primate and the battle gets underway although primeape is at a disadvantage it does hold its own and gets some good hits in but unfortunately it is not enough to win and primate falls to happy and its confusion attack now ash's back is to the wall he knows he only has one option just like in the original he sends in charizard richie was afraid of this after seeing the amount of different pokemon ash had access to he figured charges would be ash's trunk but he knows he still has a chance richie calls for another sleep hour in hopes of capturing [Music] richie sends in his trump card dragonair once ash realizes that it's a dragon type he knows he has his word cut out the battle takes to the sky above the stadium dragonair is well trained but ash and charizard won't let another loss happen the 2.1 exchange attacks culminating with charizard taking a very powerful dragon rage sending it to the ground but charizard stands back up it won't give in as it takes to the air once more richie tries to put charizard down with a slam attack but ash and charizard both saw it coming and counter with a seismic toss sending dragon air to the stadium floor knocking it out and moving ash onto the next round the next episode is friends till the end in this episode we see richie lose in the very next match after beating ash but since ash won in our timeline and now richie is in the stands cheering ash on as he battles the next opponent now here's what we know about the opponent they have a ride on a venom moth and a tentacle and you may now ask how we know it's tentacle and not sparrow and that's simple during the sequence when the pokemon are revealed the first pokemon revealed is richie's pokemon so it goes charmander then ride on then butterfree then venomoth following this order would suggest that richie had sparrow and the other trainer had tentacle then of course we know she had an ivory star as well so we really don't know just two of her pokemon and we know that rich's pikachu lost to ivory star so here we're going to say that her first two pokemon were knocked out and ash used muck and bulbasaur the next comes her right on we'll say that ash puts right on down with snorlax then comes venomoth and ash uses pidgeot to knock it out and then tentacle which loses to pikachu leaving ash with just one pokemon against ivysar now because all the intensity that ash's pokemon went through with a battle with richie plus all the stuff that they had to deal with team rocket i think ash would have tried his best to make sure that his team was well rested so i think that he would have used a lifeline here and phoned a friend so we will get irisar versus butterfree and in the end it would put down ivory sar with a combination of gust and confusion getting ash to the next round now unfortunately we don't see the rest of the battles or who actually wins the indigo league it's this guy right here we know nothing about him or what his team was so let's make an assumption i think this six on six would consist of ash's six original pokemon as he has called butterfree back for the previous battle pikachu butterfree pidgeot charizard and war turtle ash would have it no other way and here's another safe assumption on how the battle will go down in the end just like always it would be pikachu to close out the battle winning ash the championship match now that ash has won the victory road tournament he celebrates with food but his celebration is cut short when he is approached by the president of the pokemon league he informs ash that even though he won the tournament his battles are far from over if he wants to truly be called a champion then he's going to have to beat the elites ash stares at the president asking what he meant the president explains that the elite four are a group of type specialists that stand above all other trainers in kanto if you can beat them then you will become the regional champion of kanto ash then flashes back to his time in the orange islands and asks does that group of trainers include prima the president responds why yes as a matter of fact she would be your first match ash's eyes immediately widen he's been waiting for the chance to rematch her and the chance to beat her in an official battle is too much ash not really thinking just rushes in overconfident in his abilities because he just won the victory road tournament he accepts the challenge the president tells ash he will set it up it will be here at the indigo plateau in two weeks time he also reiterates that these battles are single elimination if he loses one of them then he cannot challenge the next trainer and he will not be crowned champion of the kanto region this doesn't seem to resonate with ash so he heads home to palo town to train the next two weeks go by pretty fast ash spends his time training with misty and tracy at oak's lab unfortunately ash has outgrown misty and tracy winning every battle they have making him overcompetent and feeding the ego he is starting to develop then three days before ash's scheduled battle with prima at the indigo plateau ash's training at professor oaks wrapping up a battle with misty gloating about how he is how this upcoming battle will be a walk in the park as he has grown a lot since his last battle with prima misty scolds ash saying that being overconfident could could cause mistakes ashes tells misty that she should keep her opinions to herself when she is champion then maybe he will listen to her this frustrates misty but from behind them they hear a familiar voice you know ash you shouldn't treat your friends like that misty and ash turn it's brock ash and misty are surprised ash asks him what he's doing there brock says that he saw ash went on tv and knew that he had to come back besides he learned a great deal from professor ivy so he could take some time off to congratulate an old friend a shales awesome ash asked brock if he can stay for his match with prima and the rest of the elite four brock says that's why he's here ash puzzled what do you mean brock says i figured you would want to challenge the elite four once you won so i wanted to make sure your ego was in check but i can see by what i've heard you have grown a little bit too big for your place in the universe then brock pulls out a pokeball i think it's time that you were brought back down to earth ash is super overconfident telling brock that this battle will be the same outcome as their last one brock says we'll see about that with a slight grin on his face ash wanting to flex on brock sends out charizard as it now listens to him and he wants brock to know it brock tells ash that he is happy that ash finally tamed charizard but it doesn't mean he will win brock sends in aerodactyl the old rivals take to the sky aerodactyl has grown a lot but charizard refuses to lose to it and puts it down quickly with the seismic toss unfortunately this battle just strokes ash's ego and he thinks brock is just like misty but brock won't back down they both choose their second pokemon ash sends in war turtle and brock sends a gold bat ash tries to catch brock off guard with a hydro pump but brock counters with a super sonic then a leech life putting down war turtle this doesn't shake ash he only has to win the next two to win the match ash chooses to go with power and sends in right on brock's impressed that ash caught a right on but brock has a few surprises of his own brock throws in his next pokeball his newest pokemon a kangaskhan ash is surprised he'd never seen one before remember he didn't visit the safari zone this pokemon brought god on valencia island he's had it since it hatched from an egg the battle starts ash still confident in his pokemon and his skills tries hit tries to best brock and his new kangaskhan but brock manages to put down rydon with a nice beam ash is now starting to sweat at best he can do is tie with brock and at worst he'll lose and either way it's not a win but ash is blinded he knows brock saved onyx for last and onyx is a rock type he knows he beat it once with primeape so he aims to repeat his previous success and sends in primapepe brock tells ash primape has never looked stronger but it doesn't mean he's going to win as he sends in his final pokemon as the pokemon reveals itself it's not something that ash has ever seen before it's big like onyx but it's not a rock type it's much bigger and has a metal-like finish brock says this is his new stelix ask questions stelix brock says yep while on valencia island professor ivey introduced brock to the opportunity to evolve his onyx onyx wanted to evolve so they went through with it now stelix is brock's ace and ash doesn't know what to do the battle goes on and ash is flustered but brock is cool calm and collected this allows him to take advantage and put down primape with an iron tail ash falls to his knees he lost and he can't believe it brock calls stelix back and walks to ash ash asks how did he lose brock tells ash just because he has earned the right to challenge the elite four does it mean he can beat the elite four ash looks at brock brock then says didn't i tell you that i would be there when you needed me well i'm here ash asks brock what he means brock tells ash i figured you would get a big head because you won the victory road tournament i gotta say i'm impressed that you managed to get that much but just because you won doesn't mean you will beat the elite four they are the best of the best in kanto and they take full advantage of trainers who are overconfident in battle as a result kanto hasn't had a champion in many years if you want that title then you have to be ready for anything ash looks at brock can you help me brock tells ash that's what i'm here for brock ash misty and tracy spend the next three days practicing getting ready for ash's first battle with prima the day comes ash misty and brock head to the indigo plateau once they arrive at the indigo stadium they are met with the president of the pokemon league mr goodshow he asks ash if he is ready for his match ash tells him he is mr goodshow tells him his first battle with prima is scheduled for this evening so he should take the time to eat rest and mentally prepare but this time is not used for that ash is nervous and it's visibly so brock and misty do their best to calm him down but they fail to do so then there's a knock on the door misty opens it and she is immediately starstruck as prima walks in she has come to see ash she wanted to greet him and congratulate him on his growth as a trainer since their last battle but ash doesn't respond and prima wonders why brock tells her that he has been nervous since he arrived prima says ah i get it she tells ash not to worry he earned the right to be here now it is his chance to show his growth to her and everyone else that knows him ash looks at prima prima tells ash that anyone who has ever doubted him will be watching all of their hopes are now with you because you made it here and they did it she tells ash no matter what happens he has already proven himself as a trainer now everything from here on out has to be for him and his pokemon no one else then prima leaves ash says nothing and just leaves with pikachu to think the time for the match arrives brock and misty arrive at the stadium and it is packed prima is on the field in her laid-back demeanor but ash is nowhere in sight misty thinks to herself not again thinking back to the match that he had with richie and how he nearly missed it then the crowd starts to cheer misty and brock turn there's ash and pikachu walking in to the arena ash takes his spot on the battlefield prima tells ash she was afraid that he wouldn't show ash tells her he's sorry but he wanted to make sure he gave her the best battle he could but he had to sort some stuff out first not to worry but not to worry he's here and he's going to bring the best battle he can prima says she's glad to hear it and she sends in her slow bro ash figured she would lead with slovro so he sends in pikachu the battle gets started and ash takes advantage of pikachu speed to outpace slobo but prima is not phased pikachu hits slowbro with the thunderbolt which causes major damage but it's not enough to take it out ash tries to capitalize with the quick attack but primo was waiting for this encounters with a mega punch pikachu does take the punch full on but ash tells pikachu to grab the fist and use thunderbolt this hits slowbro with full force knocking it out but it comes at a cost pikachu also falls in a tie between the two pokemon prima commands ash on his improvement but says it's not enough ash as she sends in dugong ash figured she would send in a nice type so he chooses primate this battle is a little quicker because of priming's aggressive style and ash is able to put down dugong with a karate chop after a seismic toss giving him the lead but prima is still unfazed she sends in her next pokemon cloister ash recalls primate to save it for later and sends in bulbasaur the battle gets underway and bulbasaur's small size makes it hard for cloister to hit it and bulbasaur manages to get in a few vine whips and razor leaves but then ash calls for a solar beam and prima counters it with a blizzard the two pokemons struggle to push each other back but cloister manages to push through and hit bulbasaur the ball pokemon isn't knocked out but it is hurt bad ash tells bulbasaur to rush in prima wondering what ash is up to calls for an ice beam as cloister charges it ash calls for a leech seed this connects as the ice beam hits bulbasaur knocking it out ash knew that he needed the leech seed and bulbasaur wouldn't last much longer so he set up his next choice and he sends back in primate prime has some fatigue from its battle with dugong but leech seed helps it heal and stave off some of the damage from cloister as primape is able to knock it out with the karate chop prima is impressed but unfazed she sends in her next pokemon starmie this is a problem primeapp is fighting and starmie is part psychic ash chooses to stick it out with priming but it doesn't matter primape is taken down with a combination of swift and hydro pump ash thinks to himself prima's tough everything he throws at her she just comes back harder but he won't back down he's got three pokemon left and he plans to take her down at all costs as he sends in war turtle the battle gets intense and the two pokemon refuse to give any ground war turtle gets hit with a thunder wave slowing it down but it refuses to give in and in the end the two pokemon knock each other out leaving the match just two on two both ash and prima take a deep breath and ready their next pokeballs they sent in at the same time prima sends in drinks and ash goes with charizard though jinx is powerful but so is charizard its type advantage allows it to put jinx down without much difficulty ash has finally taken the lead in pokemon but that doesn't mean anything against one of the elite four members and prima sends in her ace lapras though charizard is tough lapras is able to put it down without much effort ash knows that this is it he pushed hard to reach this point and he sends in his final pokemon snorlax the battle is a long one the two pokemon move at a slugma's pace but snorlax proves that he has the better endurance and in the end barely manages to put down lapras with the hyper beam winning ash the match and allowing him to challenge the next elite four member after the match prima approaches ash she thanks him for the battle and comments on how much he has grown as a trainer since their last battle she tells him that she would be proud to call him champion mr goodshow approaches ash and tells him his next battle will be in two days time against bruno ash thinks bruno bruno and then he remembers on his way to the indigo plateau he encountered bruno of the elite four and ash thinks this is a problem he only knows one pokemon that he has onyx ash then heads back to the room that he has and him and brock get to work on a strategy to face bruno pulled some old battle tapes for them to review and after some much planning two days later they head back to the indigo stadium for round two bruno and ash greet each other before the match bruno tells ash he didn't think a random trainer that he met in the mountains would have managed to make their way to the elite four challenge ash tells bruno he looks forward to their battle but not to underestimate him because he's young bruno tells ash he likes his spirit they shake hands and take their positions on the battlefield bruno starts the battle with hitman chan the same pokemon from the tapes that him and brock had reviewed ash had a feeling that bruno would lead with it so he sends in muck ash knew from the types that hitman chan would be a challenge so after muk's battle with venusaur and the orange islands and bellsprout on the grass field ash knows that it can take hits the battle starts and muk does exactly what ash wanted it wears him on shan down the punchy pokemon keeps firing rapid punches but muck just absorbs the damage tiring it out ash orders muck to return and sends in kingler bruno orders hitmonchan to use a thunder punch but it is met with the crab hammer kingler hits hard and does take some damage from the thunder punch but the crab hammer hits with a critical hit knocking out hitman gen bruno is impressed ash is demonstrating a knowledge of someone who would be battling at this level bruno sends in his next pokemon machamp ash recalls kingler he knows machamp is a powerful opponent and he aims to match that power so he sends in charizard ash knows that when it comes to power charizard is his best bet the battle starts and bruno keeps the battle close to the ground so charizard couldn't have the advantage in the air machamp's forearms give it the advantage and charizard has trouble defending itself but ash does catch on to bruno's plan and uses charizard's fire spin to create some distance between the two catching machamp in it as well charizard finally gets into the air and ash thinks he has distance but machamp has an ace and it fires a rock slide at charizard hitting it in midair then machamp jumps up and grabs charizard and puts it down with the seismic toss bruno has a smirk but so does ash he tells bruno don't get worried it's not over yet charizard stands back up and lets out a loud roar as the fire on its tail grows ash knows what this means and he calls for a dragon rage it shoots towards machamp at lightning speed connecting knocking the champ back but not out machamp goes in for a mega punch but ash calls for a flamethrower machamp jumps to dodge and charizard grabs it and takes it into the sky charizard sends machamp toward the ground with lightning speed but when charizard tries to let go machamp uses its extra arms to hold on to it both pokemon fall together straight into the ground knocking each other out ash is a little shocked he thought he had it bruno is impressed he didn't think charizard could match his machamp the next battle starts and bruno sends in onyx ash was waiting for this and he sends in right on the battle gets pretty brutal as both rydon and onyx are on the bigger side of their respective species but onyx is able to match rydon's power and uses its larger size to put right on down but not before rydon was able to cause serious damage to onyx ash needs someone fresh so he sends in primate it is able to put down onyx with relative ease taking only a little bit of damage in the process bruno immediately moves on to the next battle and he sends in his hip only ash recalls priming for later ash wanted to hit this next match with speed so he sends in pidgeot ash thinking pidgeot would have the advantage being able to fly is immediately proven wrong when hitmonlee jumps up and uses a mega kick it connects with full force pidgeot is hurt but it can still battle ash tries to take advantage of pidgeot's speed and it does get a quick attack in but ultimately him only puts it down with a jump kick now the battle is 3-3 and bruno knows all of ash's pokemon but ash knows none of bruno's ash has to be careful and he knows it he sends in muck luckily the slimy pokemon isn't tired from its battle with hitman chan it is able to take all of him on these hits with ease but it is starting to show some signs of fatigue ash or his muck to use sludge him only dodges it but tries a jump kick when it hits that's when muck strikes it slowly absorbs hip only the more it struggles the more it is entangled muck squeezes until hip only passes out but muck is now weak too bruno takes advantage of this and sends in polywrath polywrath is able to put muk down with a hydra pump this battle has been getting very close but ash won't give up he sends in kingler the battle with kingler in polywrath is pretty much even both being water types and kingler's high defense counters polywrath's fighting type ash uses hyper beam to counter hydropump and crab hammer to counter ice punch the two pokemon are at a stalemate bruno orders polywrath to fire a hydro pump at kingler ash orders a hyper beam to counter but kingler is still recharging from its previous one so it takes the hydro pump dead on forcing it back kingler is starting to show signs of fatigue and bruno can see it he orders an ice punch and ash tries a counter but kingler can't keep up with paul rass speed and it takes the ice punch getting knocked out in the process ash's back is now to the wall but he has faith in his last pokemon and sends in primape primeamp's aggression proves to be too much for polywrath after his battle with kingler and polywrath falls with a headbutt and a karate chop this is it the final battle bruno sends in his own primate ash is impressed bruno tells ash once he saw his primapepe he knew he wanted to find out which one was stronger the battle starts and both primates get at it the two pig monkey pokemon are very aggressive not really putting up any defense and ash and bruno choose to do the same all the training that primave did when ash was in the orange islands is paying off as its endurance is amazing but its speed is even more impressive that's what prime map's training was focused on speed and endurance as a result for every one hit bruno's primate lands ashes lands two and due to this pace bruno's primate starts to tire very quickly bruno wants to end this and orders primeape to use a submission it tries to get in for the move but ash counters it with a seismic toss this slams bruno's primate into the ground knocking it out ash's primate stands triumphant with a win over its opponent bruno recalls primape and congratulates ash he tells ash that he subjected him to all the power that he had but today ash was the better trainer as the two are talking mr goodshow approaches them and congratulates ash he tells ash his next opponent will be agatha in two days time ash tells him he can't wait bruno raises ash's hand in victory and the crowd cheers during the two days brock ash and misty try to come up with a plan for agatha but there is a problem they can barely find anything on earth turns out most people who challenge the elite four normally don't get past bruno and agatha is also the oldest member of the elite four and the most experienced this won't be easy but then there's a knock on the door it's professor oak and ash's mom ash asks why they are there professor oak tells ash when you won against bruno i figured you would need help ash says why professor oak tells ash agatha is his oldest rival and in their youth they battled nonstop the reason there are no current battles on file is because she's never battled publicly so on this stage you have forced her into an uncomfortable position she will want to end you quickly ash asks what can they do oak tells them don't worry i will help you formulate a strategy and they get to work after two days of planning ash is as ready as he's going to be ash misty brock oak and ash's mom all head to the stadium the stadium is packed even more so than usual it has been a good while since agatha has had to battle so if anything people have come out just to see this rare oddity ash and agatha meet to greet each other ash tries to shake her hand but she is cold and callous telling ash that this battle better be worth her time then she spots professor oak agatha asks oak is he one of yours oak response why yes ash is one of the young trainers i sent out on a journey agatha says then this will be interesting she then turns to ash telling him boy what is the reason you battle ash is caught off guard he doesn't know how to answer it agatha tells ash if you don't know then perhaps by the end of this match you will then walks to her side of the field leaving ash in stumped silence until he is asked to take his position by the referee agatha starts the battle and she sends in her venusaur thanks to oak ash knew that she does like her poison type but more so two of her oldest pokemon she always uses one being her venusaur oak told ash that she might lead with venusaur so ash made the choice to lead with his snorlax agatha plays the long game here she tries to poison snorlax with toxic but it seems to have no effect on snorlax but it does get caught with the leech sleet unfortunately mega drain is the follow-up with venusaur snorlax does manage to land a few ice punches but because its health is healing venusaur the damage is minimum and snorlax is starting to feel fatigued then snorlax tries a hyper beam which does connect but it falls to the leech seed giving agatha an early lead this shakes ash a bit agatha isn't like primo bruno her strategy is to control the battle to play the long game ash has to battle smart oak even told him this so ash thinks if power isn't the answer then maybe speed is and he sends in pidgeot the battle gets underway agatha tries to usually see in toxic but pidgeot pushes it back with a gust catching venusaur in it causing damage ash then tells pidgeot to use quick attack but this was a mistake because even though it does connect pidgeot is hit with the toxic pidgeot retreats to the air but the poison is slowly taking effect agatha calls for a razor leaf and pidgeot dodges and this repeats for a while until pidgeot is having trouble staying airborne it's tired and ash can see it agatha knows the poison has taken effect and pidgeot will soon fall she orders another razor leaf but instead of dodging it ash orders pidgeot to rush into the razor leaf it takes it but it pushes through and hits venusaur with the wing attack knocking it out but pidgeot also faints due to the poison ash was relieved he was finally able to take down venusaur but it cost him two pokemon then the reality of the situation sets in ash needs to be careful in the coming battles or he will lose here i get to tell his ass she's not impressed just with this type of performance it's just what she expected but oak warned ash about this he does his best to block it out and tells agatha the battle isn't over yet and to send in her next pokemon she says with pleasure agatha sends in arbok ash thinks for a second okay i've got it and he sends in war turtle this battle gets pretty intense due to war turtle shell arbok can't use glare or bind causing it to just withdraw every time an agatha hits war turtle with a screech which forces it out of its shell and it is met with an acid which does cause a good deal of damage but this battle is going in war turtle's favor again agatha tries to use bind attack but war turtle just withdraws but arbok is getting tired from all the squeezing and then it gets hit with a hydro pump this catches arbok off guard as the turtle pokemon spins its way free and into the air then it comes flying down toward all rock and arbok is met with a skull bash at full force knocking it out and evening up the count for ash the result of the battle caught agatha off guard a little the way ash used hydro pump to propel war turtle into the air to get it out of them to get the momentum needed to knock out arbok with a skull bash was something she hadn't seen before maybe there's more to this boy than i first thought she says to herself as she sends in her goal bat ash asks warton if it's still okay to battle and it nods so he leaves it in the battle gets underway and war turtle is able to dodge most of the attacks and hits and hits golbat with a water gun then agatha calls for a toxic war total used withdrawal but this is what she wanted she then calls for a super sonic this hits war turtle confusing it while it's in the shell once it comes out it won't listen to ash and a wing attack puts it down ash now only has three pokemon while agatha still has four ashley looks at pikachu are you ready buddy pikachu nods and it jumps in with agatha's years of experience she knows how to handle this ash orders a thunderbolt but golbat is able to dodge it ash then calls for another one but pikachu is met with a wing attack before it can even get one off and golbat follows up with a supersonic that connects with pikachu now golbat just sits and waits for an opening as pikachu won't respond to ash ash calls to pikachu to use quick attack but it hurts itself then ash calls for a thunderbolt and again it hurts itself ash calls for another quick attack but pikachu have pure confusion uses thunder and agatha had an ordered goal that to keep a distance and as a result it gets caught in the thunder and is knocked out agatha got a little bit too cocky but she knows it so she sends in her next pokemon wheezing ash afraid to keep him pikachu tells it to return ash knows he needs someone to hit hard so he sends in butterfree this battle actually goes really well for ash as butterfree has learned a new technique sai beam and where agatha and when agatha realizes that she would lose this one she calls for an explosion in an attempt to take butterfree with it but ash thought she might try something like this and told butterfree to push it back to use gus to push back the explosion it did work for the most part but butterfree did take some damage more importantly for the first time in the match ash now has the lead in pokemon agatha realizes this and is actually impressed she thinks to herself there's only one other trainer in recent memory to push her like this maybe this one can do more let's find out and i and agatha sends in muck ash thinks muck what a break this should be a piece of cake as he has one but this is foolish thinking on ash's part ash recalls butterfree and sends back in pikachu now that confusion is worn off it should have a fighting chance the only problem is pikachu was showing signs of fatigue due to its wild firing of electricity earlier it is running on fumes ash knows this but wants to save butterfree for agatha's last pokemon the problem is when ash calls for electric attacks the best pikachu can do is thunderbolt at half power and due to muck's defense it's not long before pikachu is drained and muck wraps up the battle with a sludge putting it back to two on two ash sends back in butter free and tells it to use gust but muck isn't moving ash then calls for a sleep powder which does connect but muck still isn't down ash tells butterfree to use psy beam on muck repeatedly but this causes muck to wake up ash can't seem to gain any ground and muck is a tank and butterfree is getting tired ash decides to risk it and he tells butterfree to get ready it's all or nothing ashore is a double edge butterfree charges in as fast as it can and right as it would make contact agatha tells mook to get ready to absorb the attack and as muck gets ready to open up and receive the attack ash calls for sai beam and muk has no time to defend itself taking in full force putting it down agatha recalls muck telling ash it was smart for him to use double edge to open up muk's defenses for scybee but now ash will have to deal with her strongest pokemon as she sends it in this is the one that ash has been waiting for gengar ash asks butterfree if it's still okay to battle and it is ash calls for sleep powder but gengar fades in to the shadows butterfree can't get a lock on it then ash calls for a gust this does catch gengar as it spreads more over a wide area but gengar retaliates with a nightshade then fades back into the shadows this is bad one more hit and butterfree will be down then ash has a thought he tells butterfree to use cybe but to spread it out like gust this catches gengar and agatha off guard and forces gengar out of the shadows gengar then uses lick on butterfree causing paralysis and then ends it with another nightshade bringing ash to his final pokemon agatha commends ash he has demonstrated a mastery of his butterfree she hopes his last pokemon will be as well trained as it butterfree is ash tells agatha not to worry his last pokemon will definitely leave her surprised ash holds the pokeball tightly it's all up to you go haunter this does surprise agatha she didn't think ash would wield a ghost type this match will be fun she thinks to herself gengar fades back into the shadows it aims to use this to its advantage but haunter likes the challenge and missed plane with the other ghost type pokemon back in lavender town haunter fades in the shadows as well but then you hear a loud thud and haunter becomes visible again gengar is clearly a master of the shadows and it doesn't like haunter in its territory but this doesn't faze haunter it just waits when agatha tells gengar to strike it counters with a lick gengar gets caught by haunter's tongue and then fades back into the shadows hunter gives a chase but is again forced out it doesn't like being kicked out of the shadows ash asks hunter if it's ready for the big move haunter gives the nod you see the timing is spent with sabrina hunter has learned a very special move ash makes the call for haunter to flood the stadium with psychic haunter's eyes glow as it lets out a wave of psychic energy this hits gengar knocking it into the ground ash then orders a lick while gengar is stunned which causes paralysis now agatha is in a tight spot gengar tries to recede into the shadows but it can't haunter takes advantage of this and heads into the shadows as ash orders a nightshade that hits gengar gengar tries to fight back but haunter has the advantage agatha calls for a nightshade and haunter fights back with psychic hunter is able to push gengar back and the psychic connects knocking gengar out winning ash the match agatha recalls gengar and approaches ash she hasn't had a battle like that in years he has definitely earned the right to be here she looks forward to watching his final match with the strongest of the elite four members then mr goodshow approaches ash and congratulates him on a well-fought match he tells him his final match will be in two days time against lance the dragon master back at the room ash misty brock oak and ash's mom are all eating but ash isn't really eating and brock asks why ash tells brock that the person he has to face is lance the dragon master brock asked what the problem is ash tells him about the battle he had with drake on pomelo island and how he lost to a dragonite brock asked ash why he is worried about it that was a different time a different battle he has grown since then many things have changed ash you are a much stronger trainer now then you were then you have to take every experience every win and every loss you've ever had and apply it here ash asks what if he loses brock says did you ever think that you would make it this far ash tells him no then you should already count that as a win so you're going into this battle do it the way you know how to what feels right if it is meant to be then it is meant to be ash thinks on this and then over the next two days ash just relaxes something he and his pokemon haven't done in a good while when missy asks ash what pokemon he plans to use he tells her he don't know but not to worry he will know when the time is right the day of ash's final match arrives ash and pikachu enter the stadium floor as misty brock professor oak and ash's mom all watch from the crowd then as the announcer is making his opening statement everyone goes silent as the fourth and final member of the elite four enters the stadium lance the dragon master he and nash greet and shake hands lance tells ash he is proud that ash has gotten this far it has been a while since anyone was able to best agatha i'm looking forward to our battle ash says nothing as the two trainers take their position this battlefield is special it is a water land combination so any pokemon can be at its maximum power lance gets the first move and he sends in his dragonair ash thought lance might start off like this but he came to battle and so did his pokemon ash sends in pikachu dragonair is using the pool of water as cover ash has pikachu use a thunderbolt but dragonair dodges it and counters with a dragon rage a shorter pikachu to use quick attack to dodge but it's met by dragonair and gets caught with a bubble beam knocking pikachu into some rocks but not out ash tells pikachu to return ash needs someone who has speed and power so he sends in primate lance does not have the ability to change pokemon in battle so he has to stick with dragonair ash tells primate to use karate chop but dragonair ducks into the water to avoid it this pattern persists for a while and ash starts to get frustrated over dragon ears persistent dodging ash needs to open up dragonair so he tells primate to jump into the water when it does dragon air strikes with a dragon rage as it comes towards prime mape ash orders priming to block it with a mega punch the force of the mega punch forces the dragon rage to fall back on itself trapping dragon air to escape dragonair takes flight this is what ash wanted he orders primek to grab it as it flies up as they get into the sky lance orders a bubble beam which primate takes but it holds on ash orders a karate chop and primape uses it causing dragonair to lose altitude and flinch ash then orders the size of toss primeape grabs dragon air and holds it tight as they fall towards the ground then lance orders the dragon rage catching both pokemon in it as they hit the ground when the smoke clears both pokemon have fainted lance doesn't seem shaken by this and recalls dragon air ash is also calm as well as he recalls primate lance chooses to send in his next pokemon sidra ash realizes that he has a water type so he chooses to match lance and sends in war turtle as cedra can only battle in the water war total takes to the pool the two pokemon battle it out hard and under the water lance calls for a water gun and war total matches sidra the two pokemon seemed evenly matched ash tries a skull bash but under the water it has minimum effect and cedra easily dodges it then lance calls for a swift which connects knocking war turtle back ash counters with another water gun but cedra matches it with its own then lance calls for a hybrid meme and ash tells war turtle to use withdrawal ash then orders a hydro pump and as war turtle starts to spin it causes a whirlpool to form sidra tries to fight it but it gets pulled in once it reaches the center ash calls for another skull bash it hits with double the force as sidra is being sucked into the whirlpool knocking it out and giving ash the victory lance commends ash on how he used the whirlpool to increase the power of the skull bash but ash says nothing he just breathes deeply and recalls war turtle misty and brock c ash is super calm this isn't like him they ask each other if they know what pokemon he chose for his team but they don't even professor oak doesn't know it seems ash wanted no help in putting together this team brock just says i guess we'll just have to wait and see ash looks down at pikachu then back to lance he's ready for round three lance looks at ash this boy he thinks as he sends in his next pokemon aerodactyl ash is surprised but not afraid ash holds his next pokeball on his hand ash sends in right on aerodactyl takes to the sky and continuously attacks from a distance with swift and hyper beam but ash has an ace in his sleeve ash tells rydon to use rockslide and the huge boulders come hurling towards aerodactyl it dodges relentlessly but one does hit it then ash orders a double edge from right on as aerodactyl falls toward the ground but lance counters with the hyper beam that hits right on at point-blank range this isn't enough to put right on down but it did cause a lot of damage rydon stands back up as aerodactyl starts to fly back up ash orders another rock slide and lance counters with a swift lance then calls for a wing attack an aerodactyl rushes in with full force it hits right on knocking it back rydon is holding on the best it can as ash tells ridon to grab aerodactyl's tail and slam it into the ground aerodactyl is now stunned and ash orders a double edge that connects with aerodactyl but it won't go down the problem is rydon keeps taking recoil damage from the double itch ash orders another rock slide and lance orders a hyper beam the two moves collide and both rydon and aerodactyl are caught in the blast when the dust settles right on is down an aerodactyl is still standing but just barely ash recalls rydon thanking it for its help ash looks at pikachu and grabs his nest poke ball and sends in war turtle aerodactyl takes back to the sky and fires a hyper beam to avoid it warhol dives into the water aerodactyl fires a hyper beam into the water causing the water to evaporate to the halfway mark in the pool once aerodactyl stops its attack war turtle floats to the surface knocked out ash recalls war turtle and looks at pikachu are you ready buddy pikachu nods and jumps into battle lance calls for a hyper beam aerodactyl tries to fire one off but it's exhausted and it gets caught by pikachu when it come when ash calls for a thunderbolt this is enough to put aerodactyl down lance recalls aerodactyl tells ash it's the same it took three pokemon to bring it down but hopefully it doesn't cost ash the match lance readies his next pokemon and sends in gyarados ash chooses to go with pikachu this battle gets intense because of aerodactyl evaporating the pool of water gyarados has nowhere to hide as a result gyarados ends up taking a thunderbolt then lance calls for a dragon rage but pikachu dodges it with a quick attack gyarados is having trouble keeping up with pikachu then ash calls for a thunder lance tries to counter with the hyper beam but it can't hold back the thunder and pikachu pushes through and it lights up gyarados knocking it out putting ash in the lead lance recalls gyarados and tells ash looks like he may have been mistaken it seems he still has the fire he had at the start of the batch ash finally speaks to lance yep i'm going to use everything i can to take you down lance says finally that's the fire i wanted to see so here comes my fire and lance sends in charizard ash chooses to recall pikachu he then sends in pokemon number five snorlax ash is hoping snorlax is at a high enough level to take charizard the battle starts and charizard takes to the sky but this doesn't worry ash lance tells charizard to use flamethrower ash till snorlax to jump into the pool of water to wet itself ash uses this to his advantage the water holds charizard's fire attacks at bay minimizing the damage so lance tries a dragon rage and ash counters this with a nice punch lance is starting to get concerned as long as the water is there he can't get to snorlax then lance tells charizard to use flamethrower on the pool to evaporate the rest of the water this is what ash was wanting for charizard's attention divided as ash calls for a hyper beam that connects with charizard charizard didn't have enough time to dodge but snorlax has to recharge from the hyper beam as a result charizard is able to evaporate the rest of the water but charizard has a problem when it took the hyper beam one of its wings took majority of the blast so now it is grounded and ash knows it he tells snorlax to get in close to charizard and use a nice punch but charizard is able to dodge snorlax attacks and a dragon rage knocks it back but ash won't give in and he orders a body slam this does connect and charizard is pushed back into some boulders the two pokemon are going at it trading blows back and forth but unfortunately in the end snorlax falls to charizard ash recalls snorlax and sends in pikachu luckily snorlax did wear charizard down and it can't fly so pikachu has a chance to win ash orders a quick attack and lance orders a dragon range pikachu gets caught in it knocking it down but the electric mouse won't give in it stands back up with the last of its strength pikachu lets out a thunder that engulfs the battlefield and charizard when the dust settles both charizard and pikachu are down leaving lance and ash with just one pokemon each lance recalls charizard and tells ash he didn't think he would be pushed this far but his true test of skill starts now as he sends in his ace dragonite ash just stares at lance and dragonite he knew it was coming ash flashes back to his battle at pummelo stadium as he holds a pokeball in his hand and he thinks to himself it won't happen again and he sends in his ace charizard charizard looks at dragonite and then back to ash they'd both nod to each other they have never been on the same page more than this moment they both will not fall in this battle the battle takes to the sky charizard and dragonite exchange attacks hyper beam flamethrower dragon rage and dragon rage the two want the two won't give each other any ground and lance calls for a thunder this does hit charizard and it starts to lose altitude lance takes advantage of this and orders a slam dragonite uses its superior speed to maneuver in and grab charizard then it puts it into the stadium floor with all the floors that it can lance watches intensely waiting for the dust to settle while ash just smiles is that the best you've got as charizard lets out a loud roar blowing back the dust lance and dragonite can feel it ash and charizard are not like their previous opponents they won't go down that easily dragonite and charizard both exchange another dragon rage and the explosion rocks the stadium but ash can see that charizard has taken more damage than dragonite thanks to the thunder ash orders charizard to rush in for a seismic toss there it is the slip up lance was waiting for once charizard gets in close lance orders a hyper beam ash orders charizard to deflect it with its tail then counter with the fire spin it catches dragonite with full force lance wasn't expecting that once the fire spin clears dragonite has developed a burn ash aimed for this and orders a flame thrower it catches dragonite as it takes to the sky to put some distance between it and charizard ash tells our ash tells charizard to follow it but charizard is starting to slow due to fatigue ash thinks i have to end this but we need dragonite to come to us ash orders a dragon rage dragonite dodges and lance calls for another thunder but charizard dodges but dragonite gets behind charizard in an attempt to use slam again this is what ash was waiting for he orders charizard to turn its head and use firespin enveloping dragonite then ash tells charizard to grab it and use seismic toss charizard grabs dragonite and they both head towards the stadium floor as fast as charizard can take them with a thundering crash once the dust settles the two pokemon are standing there staring each other exhausted from their intense battle then they both start to fall but ash calls out to charizard and it hears him catching itself as dragonite falls in defeat the stadium erupts in excitement and ash is in shock he did it he beat the elite four the most powerful trainers in all of kanto and he beat all of them lance approaches ash and extends his hand in congratulations to kanto's newest champion while brock misty oak and delia as well as the rest of the elite four stand out of respect for their new regional champion once the festivities are all said and done with ash and his friends returned to pallet town to celebrate we pick up back with ash in pallet town it has been several weeks since the end of the competition overall about a month because there was no more traveling left to do misty and brock decided to head back home to pewter city in cerulean city respectively ash has just been kind of walking around in a haze since then he's not really sure of what he should be doing now he won the league but what else is there so he's been spending his days going to professor oak's lab spending time with his pokemon and just kind of existing not really doing anything pikachu can see this it's kind of like ash is stuck in a rut and he doesn't like the direction that ash is going overall it's been about two months since the end of the league and with each day that passes the more and more ash seems to slip away from his normal self that is until one day when ash heads to professor oak's lab and he's met with gary he hasn't seen gary since his loss at the indigo plateau ash wants to take this moment to robin gary's loss and how ash managed not only to make it farther than he did but beat the elite four so that by default makes ash a stronger trainer than gary even though he lost their last encounter ash was expecting some sort of snarky retort from gary but in fact it's exactly the opposite gary has been humbled by his loss at the indigo plateau and he tells ash that he's right he was in perfect sync with his pokemon and he was determined he was never overconfident and that's what resulted in him being able to win gary gives ash the credit that is due as he is the champion of the indigo region but he also tells ash that he shouldn't be so overconfident now just because he won doesn't mean he's the best out there this kind of gets to ash and pikachu can see it but it's exactly what ash needed because he's been lacking in motivation lately the comment that gary made has angered him and in typical last fashion he wants to prove it with the pokemon battle what ash doesn't know is gary has been training extremely hard in preparation for his next adventure so while ash has been losing his focus on his training gary has been sharpening his gary at first declines ash's offer for a battle but then after some more poking and prodding from ash he finally agrees says okay ash you want a battle we'll battle and with that the two head outside ash is looking forward to this he really wants to teach gary a lesson and he wants to get revenge for their last battle considering that he lost without hesitation ash sends in pikachu gary figured that he would lead with pikachu and before they get started gary says why don't we make this interesting let's make this a two on two battle ash says okay no problem i got just the lineup for you gary says great with a smirk on his face then gary sends in his eevee professor oak tells ash that he needs to be careful evie is one of gary's strongest pokemon and has been really well raised ash says i'm not worried about it pikachu can handle anything that's thrown at it and the battle gets underway though the battle seems to be close to people who aren't focused on the details ash thinks he has the upper hand but in reality gary is actually just leading nash along countering every move slightly allowing ash to believe that he has the advantage but in the end pikachu ends up falling to eevee while taking minimum damage this frustrates ash a little bit but he says no matter i got just the pokemon to take down that eevee wanting to assert his dominance as the regional champion he sends in his best charizard gary realizes that charizard would be too much for evie so he immediately forfeits this match ash takes this as a sign of weakness gloating about how his evie couldn't even handle a simple charizard gary says don't worry ash i have just the pokemon to battle your charizard i know that eevee's not strong enough isn't it power that you want to test here don't worry i'll show you power and gary sends in his blastoise ash wasn't expecting this he actually didn't know that gary starter was blastoise after all it was never told to him before and he had never seen gary use it and ash can tell by looking at blastoise that it is extremely well raised and its level is very high charizard may be at a disadvantage but ash knows that charizard can pull through so the battle between the two titans gets underway and this and this match is one ferocity ash not pulling any punches immediately calling for his best moves with combinations of flamethrower and dragon rage but gary is able to counter him with hydro pump and bite these two pokemon refused to give anyway but charizard is just taking direct damage ash isn't playing any defense here he's just ordering charizard to rush in then ash goes to call for a seismic toss professor oak tells the two that they need to stop gary out of respect for his grandfather says okay grandpa no problem but ash looks a professor and says why we were about to end this me and charizard could have taken blastoise down professor octal's ash look at the surroundings what you guys have done ash looks around and even though they were using this place as a battle and they've done it before it has never seen this level of a battle before they've pretty much wrecked most of the property professor tells ash you're getting reckless you're just causing damage without actually thinking about the surroundings even though this can be used as a battlefield you're also hurting the homes of a lot of the pokemon that live on my property you can't do this here anymore the battle has to come to an end this battle is over because i say it's over and you will no longer be battling on my property if that is going to be how you approach battling this angers ash and he recalls charizard gary recalls blastoise he says ash you have gotten stronger but your judgment has also gotten clouded your head's gotten big i really hope that you're able to represent kanto as his champion and then he walks off ash says gary we're gonna battle again next time it'll be a six on six gary just waves at ash as he disappears off in the distance later on that day while inside professor oak's lab ash and professor oak are talking and they get on the topic of gary and this angers ash he says can't believe gary he's just as stuck up as ever and professor eric says what do you mean ash he says he's so cocky and overconfident he knows that i would have won that battle if he wouldn't stop professor oak looks at ash and says ash gary has been training extremely hard since his loss at the indigo plateau matter of fact he has been humbled by the experience and he's not as snarky or cocky as he was before though he still has confidence his confidence is backed by skill today ash you just proved reckless abandoned that's why you were going to lose that match ash says what do you mean charizard would have been able to close it out with the seismic toss press rook says no it wouldn't have gary had the advantage from the start ash just looks at professor oak in silence fresh stroke says he was leading you along the entire time making you think that you had the advantage but but in reality you just played to strategy that's why pikachu lost evie as you become overconfident trying to prove yourself because you're the champion the fact that gary has been the one person you've been unable to beat just plays into that fact gary didn't do anything wrong you had lost the battle before it even began ash tries to defend himself professor oak just says ash you're not the same person that you wore two months ago when you won the championship this newfound title has gone to your head you need to go home and reflect on who you are and what you've become and with that ash heads home the next morning ash wakes up and he takes off with pikachu in tow they head out to the mountains outside of palo town ash is just looking to think he doesn't really know what to make of what professor oak said but he thinks professor oak was wrong after all he won the championship so what is professor oak now he's proven himself to be the strongest trainer in the kanto region he knows that he would have won that battle against gary then a voice from behind him says hey ash just the person i came to see ash turns and it's lance the dragon type master of the elite four ash says lance what are you doing here lance says i came to see you actually as the new champion of the cantor region i wanted to check upon you as you're a kid and i wanted to make sure you were doing all right ash says oh yeah i'm doing fine i've just been kind of relaxing since the end of the tournament lance says really he goes yeah it's been a great time i've had a battle or two alluding to gary's battle and lance says oh yeah and how did that go said oh don't worry i was gonna win but i ended up getting stopped by professor oak glass says oh that's a shame well hopefully you'll have a chance to battle that trainer again in the future ash says well we'll see he seems to be gearing up for another adventure but considering i'm the champion for kanto i kind of have responsibilities here now don't i lance turns ash and he asks him a serious question ash what was your goal when you set out to be a pokemon trainer ash says well i wanted to be a pokemon master and lance says okay and have you achieved that goal ash says well i won the indigo championship i'm the champion of kanto and lance says okay i understand that but have you achieved that goal ash gets silent lance then reiterates listen just because you've won a title or you have a title doesn't mean your journey is over there's always new and exciting challenges out there waiting for you like your friend gary he found that out the hard way i saw his loss at the indigo plateau and i know that he is the grandson to professor oak so the expectations for him to do well were high but look at him you said he was getting ready to start off on another adventure even though his kanto region adventures had come to an end that doesn't mean that his adventure was over so he's been training and practicing for the next stage of his adventure what have you been doing ash ash gets quiet lance says listen ash as the champion of the cantor region you do have certain responsibilities but those responsibilities are really only when the championship is going underway we still have another year and a half before the next ceremony at the indigo plateau will begin in that time you can do whatever you want like say start another adventure ash looks at lance start another adventure lance says yeah take me for instance i actually have been all over the world did you know that i wasn't actually born here in the kantor region ash says really lance says yeah i'm actually from the jodo region a region out west of the kanto region i was born in blackthorne city the site of the blackthorne gym and the dragon clan that's why i specialize in the dragon dips ash thinks to himself whoa so you mean to tell me that there is a whole another region with other gems outside of kanto lance tells ash yes the world is a lot bigger than you know and as a young and upcoming pokemon trainer whether you're a champion or not it's your job to explore and have your own experiences think about that ash with that lance tells ash that he's going to be heading home to the johto region for a while and he takes his leave this just leaves ashland silence he doesn't know what to make of it a whole nother adventure and a whole other chance to prove himself this could be the opportunity he needs to defeat gary and not only defeat gary but defeat him on a stage where everybody can see where ash is the better trainer with that ash runs to professor oak's house once he gets there he's out of breath and he asks professor of first rook where was gary going where is he going to challenge next professor oak looks at actually says well gary's been training to challenge the jodo region ash knew it he's going to the region where lance was born and if lance a trainer that strong was actually from the jota region just think there might be other strong trainers like him out there ash tells professor oak about meeting lance up in the mountains outside of pallet town and how lance told him he was from the gelato region and then he asked does johto have its own pokemon league professor oak says yeah it does matter of fact there are a lot of strong trainers out he also tells ash they have eight more gems required to enter the league just like in kanto this starts to get ash's fire back he's excited he wants to challenge this joe to league he wants to challenge gary in the jota league and prove that he is the better trainer ash then looks at professor oak what do i have to do to get involved with the judo league professor looks at ash and says i had a feeling this might be coming once you found out that gary was going to challenge the jodo league he says here and he hands ash a brand new pokedex ash says a new pokedex press stroke says yes this has all the new pokemon out in the jodo region that you've never seen before ash says new pokemon fresh says yeah did you think that the pokemon that existed in the cantor region were the only pokemon in the world ash the world is a big place johto has tons of pokemon that you've never seen before that only appear in the jotha region this gets ash even more excited the chance to capture and train new pokemon the chance to battle gary the chance to challenge a whole new region and become its champ ash tells professor oh i'm in how do i register professor oak says well i want to talk to you about that i have a favor to ask of you ash and ash says what is it he says if you go to the jota region i need you to do something for me and then he pulls out the gs ball he says ash i need you to take this to a friend of mine in azalea town named kurt he's known as the pokemon ball blacksmith i can't figure out what this gs ball is but if there's anybody in the world who would be able to figure it out it would be him ash says really and professor oak says yes he then hands the ball over to ash and he says i wish you the best of luck on your journey with that ash takes his leap to prepare for heading out to the jodo region the next morning ashes up bright and early he has some things that he has to take care of first he also has to select the pokemon he's going to be taking with him to the jota region ash has made a couple of calls one of them is to one of the members of the elite four bruno ash goes to the mountains where he met bruno before bruno is excited to know that ash is out trying to better himself still in the ass ash why he is there ash says he's planning to head out to the johto region and bruno says really goes yes but i have a favor to ask and bruno says what is it he says i'm gonna take a couple of pokemon with me to the jordan region but i don't want to take a full team of six and i was wondering if you would train with my primate while i'm gone and ash let's prime up out of the ball bruno says really and ash says yes if there's one trainer that can take primate to the next level outside of me it's you i'd really like for you to work with it after all we nearly lost to your prime ape and you in the pokemon league bruno looks at ash you know i don't normally train other people's pokemon but it's a request from our champion i guess maybe this time i can make an exception ash looks at primate listen primate me and you we're gonna have to get stronger but i think we've reached the point to where we can't do it together so we're gonna have to part ways again but just for now though primeape is sad by this it understands and with that ash hands over primates pokeball to bruno and he sets off ash's next stop is pewter city and the pewter gym once he gets there brock is actually in the middle of a pokemon battle for someone trying to challenge his gym ash just walks in with nobody knowing that he's there and he stands in the rafters watching brock school this new young kid on pokemon brock stelix looks like it's gotten a lot stronger and he manages to put down the newbies raticate after the gym battle ash approaches brock it's been a while brock says yeah it has what brings you to the gym ash ash says you know i've been sitting around doing a lot of thinking lately and i've been kind of stuck in a rut but i'm heading out on another adventure and i was wondering if you'd like to join me brock says really where are you going ash says i'm heading to jodo the site of the next pokemon league gary's already got a head start on me so if you're in we gotta leave now brock says jodo huh that's the region with professor um the one who studies pokemon breeding i'm definitely in because i definitely like the chance to get to know him ash says awesome all right then i guess we're all set let's head out immediately brock says hold on there's one more person that we're going to want to invite along ash says who and from behind them you hear me and they turn and it's misty misty was visiting from the cerulean gym and ash says misty what are you doing here misty says looks like i arrived just in time do you really think that i'm gonna let you go out on another journey without me after all you still owe me a bike ashes oh yeah well you want to go we're heading to the jodo region misty says of course i'm in after all who makes a better team than us ash says i gotta agree with you on that and with that the trio sets out west heading toward the site of their first johto adventure now let's establish who ash is going to be bringing with him to start his jodo journeys the first pokemon of course is going to be pikachu pikachu will always be with ash it will always be by his side and it will never leave so that is a no-brainer the second pokemon ash is bringing is charizard the reasoning for this is because ash and charizard have a score to settle with gary and they both are going to want to battle him and his blastoise again now as far as bulbasaur is concerned it's too busy keeping order in professor oak's lab so it won't be attending this time next we have war turtle war turtle will definitely be going with daesh as ash has learned the utilization of a water type is critical on the team then we have primate ash has put priming with bruno so that way it can train and get to the next level of strength then we have butterfree and haunter and they've returned to their respective places in the orange islands and at the saffron gym then we have kingler much snorlax rydon and pidgeot they all will also be remaining at oak's lab kingler because ash doesn't want to have a dual water type snorlax because it's too expensive to feed rydon because it's kind of developed the big brother syndrome for bulbasaur and it backs it up whenever its decisions are made so ash wanted to leave it there as kind of like an enforcer slash protector for the property mike will remain a professor of slab as well just because ash doesn't want to deal with the stink that emanates from its pokeball all the time and then last but not least pidgeot pidgeot and the flock that has become chief of will remain at professor oak's lab pidgeot will be available for ash to call upon it but it's going to remain there to protect them as the firo and the sparrow still do occasionally try to make the attacks against the pidgey and the pidgeotto i really hope you guys enjoyed today's episode and if you like the
