[Music] hello guys and welcome to my home in London today I'm going to show you what I eat in a day and I bet you've all been wondering what a vegan chef eats day to day and you see my tasty indulgent food that I post on my youtube channel every so now I bet you really were thinking what do I eat day to day I eat generally really really tasty food I'm always traveling and my my diet is quite varied because of that so whether I'm travelling filming having office days working in kitchens my diet is very varied which is good but also quite annoying I like to have a bit for structure and when I'm at home and I'm here for a long period of time I get to have that structure and I tend to eat very healthily so I'm going to show you exactly why I eat today it's the morning time now you're going to see what I have a breakfast and it's also Champions League final tonight so I've got friends coming over I'm going to have some nice snacks for that as well so I hope you enjoy my video I hope it helps you and I show share with you some of my health tips and a good way of getting all the right nutrition into your diets when eating vegan so breakfast first and I am hungry [Music] so another thing that changes my daily diet really is is what I'm doing and right now I'm trying to get back into the gym I'm exercising more less every day so my diet reflects that so you'll see that today's meals will have lots of high protein lots of healthy fats good carbohydrates to keep me energized and keep my body repairing itself after heavy workouts so today it's kind of high protein esque there's some really tasty food after all I'm a chef and all my food is tasty and nutritious as well so let's get cooking porridge for me is my go-to breakfast and I have to have it to start my day off correctly I know some of you may think college is boring and bland but it can be delicious especially if you use a really creamy milk oats and lower blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol it's packed full of vitamins minerals and fiber I taught my porridge with some healthy tasty treats if you like your prodigious wheats rather than adding sugar add a touch of maple syrup or another natural sweetener of your choice first up blueberries which are rich in it antioxidants they're tasty and a natural source of sugar perfect to sweeten this porridge up hemp seeds next essential fatty acids such as Omega 6 and 3 so they're so good for you and it's that's vital when eating a vegan diet they have huge amounts of protein and a great source of fiber plus for a little crunch and some more flavor some nuts almonds and hazelnuts full of fiber calcium zinc and high fats good fats that is perfect for me who tries to keep and put on weight when I go to the gym [Music] so there's my breakfast done I'm gonna eat this now I Britt presented this a bit more fancy than usual but obviously I'm on YouTube so I have to this is so tasty so nutritious and I always have a cup of tea with my porridge not just English tea I have a good selection of amazing teas that I pick up wherever I go on my travels I love tea so much and one of my favorites is lapsang it's so good for you and it's got an amazing smoky flavor and there's a really nice story behind how laps own was created and I'm going to have some of that now [Music] so the story of the laps I'm tea apparently Chinese Warriors were walking through Russia back back in the day with the tea in their bags or black tea in their bags and as they would stop in to light their campfires every night the tea naturally infused with the smoke and produced this smoky tea and it's an acquired taste but it's got lots of health benefits so it basically tastes like smoky tea it's really nice I loved it so much and it has got some great health benefits so I enjoy drinking it but I do have lovely fruit ones I really recommend getting into tea I love it so much I think I just love that the story of it I love the I love the end part I love the pouring I love the smells and it's all it's really good that it does have some great health benefits so tasty too I'm gonna eat this Polish now because I'm very hungry and I'm gonna go to the gym today so I need to get some energy inside me I don't know what why I'm who I'm kidding trying to think I can use this spoon this is like what's it called like a cartoon no like we know there's bears the porridge bears come on help me out Goldilocks and a free bathroom morning mama bear prepared some porridge for their breakfast anyway let's taste this I love porridge the go-to breakfast so guys as I said to you this is the perfect day of eating for me so obviously my eating habits are quite inconsistent so I'm always traveling but porridge is something that I always make sure I have at the start of the day at home but one thing I have been trying to take consistently over the last couple of years starting at home with my mum and then as I've moved out I've started doing it here as well is drinking wheatgrass and I always laugh because lots of people say that vegans eat grass and I actually do I drink wheatgrass and wheatgrass is the grass of weeks basically so before it turns into the long shoots of wheat it's the little grass at first and it's so nutritious and I'm not going to go into too much detail about why I have it because I'm probably going to do a little video on why I eat grass and it's been it's being consumed for a long time it's been shown to kill cancer cells it purified the liver which detoxify our body and it's also amazing bursts of energy for me when I go to the gym it's like it's almost like the equivalent of having coffee but much much healthier in my opinion so I'm gonna have a shot now and show you wheatgrass it tastes disgusting and I've got Pete here my photography they're gonna taste it and see what give you honest feedback because I can sort of get through the taste now I'm over it but it's quite acquired taste but very good for you so when I'm home I try and have it [Music] all right Pete let's give this a taste then your first ever week restaurant right Cheers so I'm assuming you don't like it then very good for you though it's worth it just one shot go and get it done anyway wheatgrass shot I swear by it I've been having it for nearly about two years on and off now because obviously I can't take trades of wheatgrass with me around the world but you can't find that good how foods markets and things like that but yeah I actually put it down to like recovering faster but anyway I'm not going to talk too much because I'm going to do a video on wheatgrass soon I think so yeah Jim now [Music] so fresh from the gym and now it's time to make a quick post-workout meal or my lunch and I'd like to have big meals after the gym and generally my meals are quite big rather than eating four or five smaller meals I like to have big meals just because I don't wanna spend so much time eating food basically but what I try and do is pack as much nutrients fresh vegetables into as possible and I actually made a lovely Jamaican curry for a recipe video that you'll see soon so I need that I've got it in the fridge its meal prep now also with some quinoa and these lovely vegetables which I always try and cook fresh if possible if I'm not meal prepping try and cook them fresh and the best way of cooking these vegetables for me is in a steamer and these bamboo steamers are absolutely amazing so simple so cheap to buy and I'll show you exactly how to use them now and it makes sure that the veg is cooked perfectly and it doesn't lose its nutrients into my sauce bun color on that absolutely fantastic to steam the vegetables pour some water into a large saucepan or wok and place it over a medium heat they're pretty straightforward really just make sure that the the baskets don't actually touch the water they just sit on top of it basically and as the pan and the water heats up you'll start to see some steam and they'll be ready to get the vegetables in it's so good having pre-made nutritious food in your fridge so that you can just have a quick meal I think that's a really good tip for vegans is making sure you always have food available and it speed things up you know you're always got a really healthy tasty meal in the fridge ready tails Italian brother cavolo nero so I really love serving some fresh beautiful vegetables with my meals and some of my favorites are cavolo nero chard and samphire hello hello yes yes of course I want planting on my lunch [Music] the Cavallo narrow and charred are really high in antioxidants that disease-fighting and that also high in fiber vitamins and minerals samphire is so good for the heart and just so so tasty he's got a beautiful taste of the sea flavor a lovely saltiness to it because it's a sea vegetable named a better sight than that oh it's amazing that beautifully cooked already let's turn that off and just tell that to cook and then turn in the key obviously for me is to under cook this veg slightly so that the residual heat will finish off cooking it worse is being plated up but I do not want to overcook vegetables it just kills the nutrients kills a flavor kills the taste and I'm using in season chard got the cavolo nero which is kales Italian cousin I think they call it and it's so tasty and also some Sam fry samphire cuz I just got that the supermarket found it it's just a sea vegetable so nutritious let's diss this up [Music] [Music] and there is a beautiful nutritious plate of Whole Foods ready for me to eat now after the gym and that took me about six minutes prepared because obviously I mean pre-made the curry quinoa was already cooked just had to cook those vegetables and that is some beautiful food after the gym hot out here [Music] so this lunch is so nutritious feels so fresh and perfect after the gym and what I'm gonna have now before I could do a little bit of work on my laptop I know I said I would day off but it's not really done but never really have to the office but I have to do a little bit of work on the laptop and but before I do that I'm going to make a protein shake because I've recently started going back to the gym my muscles are aching in a vegan protein shake is what I need and I make a really good one and I found out recent recently about a couple of ingredients that are really really really really nutritious that you may not have heard before so I'm going to add those to the smoothie and let you know what they are as well so my protein shake this will make my muscles feel a lot better I'm sure some amazing vitamins and minerals in there and also is such a hot day in in London today this will taste really nice and creamy and or it more or less like a really nice smoothie ice cream basically so let's get making my protein smoothie I forgot to shake it at first spoon ooh so next into my protein smoothie I'm gonna add something that I've only recently discovered it seemed us it's from Jamaica my friend Kristina got it for me I got it in the dried form so the dried seaweed basically I washed it soaked it and blended it into a puree with some purified water and I put in ice cube tray in the freeze and I've been adding these CMOS ice cubes for my smoothies for the last couple of days haven't notice any changes to my body just yet but it's super high in potassium which is great for mental health it's also great for the skin and rich in so many vitamins and minerals and I'm definitely gonna do a video soon with Kristina explaining how good CMOS is for us so that will be coming soon anyway I'm also going to add some frozen banana as well what I recommend doing if you have some bananas in your fruit bowl or wherever going slightly overripe and you don't really want to eat them just cut them up or just wrap them whole and stick them in the freezer and you can add them as and when you need them to smoothies or you can make vegan ice cream with them it's just great to have in the freezer [Music] natural sugar going in if you want to add additional calories I recommend adding some nuts I've got enough nuts in the actual milk anyway [Music] [Applause] and there we go superfood smoothie this I reckon I could do a thousand press ups after drinking this get into glass and have a taste I [Music] didn't when I was falling this I thought it'd be a lot more nicer than the color it is but that's because I mix the acai and the spirulina together if I left the side out who have been really nice and queen but here it's got a bit we hunt it it's all about the taste and the nutrients Matt she's what about the nutrients and the tasting in my opinion but it will taste nice you've got the beautiful natural sugars of the banana there's sorry let me taste it anyway it's amazing it's like a really creamy banana milkshake is so good it's got all those nutrients in it and I'm now gonna do my thousand press ups son so I had to pick up the camera because the boys were winding me up that the protein smoothie looked disgusting they actually don't even look that bad and they're all happily enjoying it I'm sorry this is out of focus but yeah see it's delicious that's that how many presses could he do well well that's half more than usual Pete [Music] okay so that's work then we had a productive afternoon editing new videos that you'll see soon some really exciting ones and now I'm gonna reward my lovely team before the football I'm going to cook up my nasi goreng which is actually a 15 minute meal and you can find the recipe video by clicking that somewhere maybe up there I think that side and I've already got my base sauce which is called a sambal from when I made it for the recipe videos so just shows you that this will even be even faster now but I got that pre-made and this is going to taste so good and it's going to get us ready and fueled up ready to watch the Champions League final in my nasi goreng I'm literally using any leftover vegetables that I have in my fridge such as cavallo narrow charred baby courgettes samphire spring onion and Pak choy [Music] they're veggies going in [Music] so let's plate this Mazzy going up for everyone ready for the football if the earth is fat how could I make a sphere like that so guys there's some lovely bowls and nasi goreng and it's 7:30 p.m. here now probably the last walk definitely the last meal I'll be eating not sure if I'm going to have any snacks for the football but if I do I will get my phone out and show you anyway I'm going to go and eat least now thanks
