What happens when you max out the programming skill?

oh hi thanks for watching my video so I thought today we would just do a little bit of a casual casual let's play focused mainly on just being a geek I'm in a geeky mood today fancy being a bit of a buffing this is my sim here her name is Philomena Baldwin which she has Big Dreams Big Dreams of maxing out the programming skill one of the reasons why I decided to do this video is because I've never actually like worked my way through the programming skill and I know there are lots of things you can uncover as you go along you know like you can hack computers and make money I think you can hack uh the crumple bottom systems you can hack the land grab systems you can make your own games so let's start by practicing programming so yeah I thought today we would just power our way through the programming skill probably will work freelance as a programmer as well because I feel like that's going to go hand in hand isn't it see how much money we can make just from doing programming in fact you know what probably the fairest way to start would be if we started off with nothing in the bank let's start with nothing see how much we end up with and how much money can be made by being a literal genius I think maybe let's get to programming level two we've just acquired the skill so that's good and then we'll go ahead and sign up for we'll sign up for a freelance job as a programmer computer expert oh that is right yeah oh it looks like uh Philomena could do with some sleep but I'll tell you what Philomena you just get yourself that that skill level we have to be committed to this all right we can't just pick up and drop off whenever we want you get that skill level and then you have earned some sleep there you go see that wasn't that hard was it I really like philomena's home it's not as colorful as I usually go for but I'm kind of trying to go for the um like rented Vibe you know like we don't own this place but there's a lot of green a lot of green a lot of black a lot of Gray it's my kind of thing all right Philomena why don't you go take a quick and then have just a quick meal and then we will check for some gigs okay right now we're just going to get the short the shitty ones help encrypt private data all right well we're gonna do the the encrypting because that one pays a bit more so what do we need to do chat with client encrypt files okay career chat with client encrypt files hopefully that also builds my programming skill I'm hoping so oh you've got blue streaks in your hair is that like a bedtime thing oh yeah sweet she is still building her programming skill okay that's good that's really good so I feel like if we just power through one gig after another we're gonna be making bank and we're gonna max out this skill in no time Philomena I'm trying to remember how to um like get the focused the focused mood buff because I keep clicking on everything and being like enable emotional Aura you know like with the um the stuck in their Shadow scenario that was really fun when we were able to like use all of our juices and the paintings but this one it has no emotional aura okay we're gonna have to try again encrypt that file again try not to it up this time I mean she is still a beginner after all she's not even at level three yet so programming level three oh but I do keep getting the pop-up this isn't good keep getting the pop-up that they're getting corrupted um is there like a focused potion or something Focus potion can't afford it right read orbital pudding that should make you focused oh no she's confident oh I picked the wrong book I feel like there must be a painting or something I could use that would make me focused there must be something okay here we go view focused work enable emotional Aura okay this should make us focused yes okay perfect just a mere glance at it and it made us focused right so now try encrypting that file okay hopefully we don't get a pop-up saying that we we still managed to it up because this is only my first gig and we need some money right now we don't have any way to feed ourselves okay she's done it she's done one God that took ages oh this is gonna take forever she's gonna be um programming level four so she's probably gonna make programming level five by the time she gets just this one gig done this is a long process encrypting five files what's wrong you hungry yeah okay sure go and take a go have a quick meal and we'll see if maybe we can encrypt one more file before you go and get some sleep oh no what's wrong brain fried so she can't do any programming for a while okay that's fine we'll use this time to fulfill your needs then have some food take a bath maybe take a nap when does that mood buff wear off seven hours well you do need to get paid girl you have no money you ain't got right now okay cool cool I think we can start programming again I think that mood buff has expired now so continue encrypting file we're not even halfway are we I'm not gonna take any more gigs that involve encrypting files I mean I know we have plenty of time it's not even due until Wednesday but it's just not paying us enough 135 simoleons for more than just one day's work and then maybe because her social level is pretty low I'll put her on like some kind of chat room yeah and that will fill up that need okay one file left to encrypt and it looks like she's almost at programming level five yeah programming level five we can now perform side jobs okay well I think she's done with her gig we just got paid 162 simoleons Philomena why don't you um just chat on some forums for a bit we'll fill that need shall we and then I'll take a look for another gig hopefully a better paying one or what about this one temporary modding contract 485 simoleons that would be nice and easy I think yeah we should probably work on maybe um a little bit of cooking as well just so we can get some basic skills basic survival skills Philomena we'll start with a salad you can't really up a salad can you okay so what do we have to do for this gig chat with client and mod the game okay we can do that also I wonder if there are any new options open to me now under program okay I can mod games I can make a virus and I can hack the land grab systems the lothario trust fund and the Llama corn Lister oh I think we should hack uh lothario's trust fund and then we'll go to sleep these are our side jobs hacking into people's savings oh she's been a bad girl oh she made 97 simoleons that's what Don mathario had in his trust funds so cheeky right how are your needs oh they're fine well wake up then and we'll have you complete your gig so we'll Mod The Sims forever I'm guessing you finished chatting with the client yeah you did we'll Mod Sims forever and oh man look at the cost of those bills 1223 simoleons we're never going to pay those bills right we're going to have to go crazy with the hacking we're gonna have to hack the land grab system we're also going to make a virus and then then we're going to have hack the Llama corn service because we got bills to pay and we're about a ground short we're building that programming skill so quickly we're on our way to programming level six aren't we yeah oh no the computer's broken and we can't afford to replace it so you're gonna have to repair it try your best you have no handiness skill but hopefully you can repair it did you fix it okay good go and get some food something quick try not to start a fire and then we'll continue modding Sims forever we've got to get this gig done Philomena and we need to start hacking as well oh we got paid 582 okay that's a hundred simoleons more than I thought it would be I think you get paid more oh level six I think you get paid more if you do it in like a shorter time than they give you all right well let's take a look and see what other gigs we have oh groundbreaking new Social Network look at the payout for that 2615 we have to make three website pages I bet that'll still take less time than the encrypting one oh we got 200 from the land grab hack this is going very well did you meet anyone from chatting I guess she met ritvik either we met rip Vic from chatting or he's like a landlord or something all right all right go and use the bathroom take a bath and then go to sleep we'll try and get on more of a normal work schedule but it's that neighborhood action plan making my bills so high what should we have for breakfast today let's do scrambled egg with bacon and then we will we'll chat with client there's still a couple things I wanted to do though under program uh continue making virus yes I want to explore everything that programming has to explore so we'll make a virus and we'll start working on our next freelance gig maybe we'll see if we could start a side job you're going to be a very busy girl Philomena and then I'm going to queue up making a website page yeah and then oh we can hack our own work performance and we can hack Don lothario again so basically we can hack them every day if we wanted to oh no our bills have been cut off we're about 200 Simoleon short all right well you know what if I had my finance mod installed then I would have her take out a loan but I don't so instead I'm gonna lend her 200 simoleons you've got to pay it back though I'm gonna take it back to pay your bills so go and pay them right now and then as soon as you get paid for this gig I'm taking it back okay we're down to four simoleons this is my own fault for living in such a expensive apartment okay make a website page actually no Hang on we're gonna we're gonna go and hack something first I think because that will give us immediate money hack the Llama corn place just to get some quick money something in the pocket so we can at least afford some food and of course you've got to pay me back okay we got 135 simoleons that's good you did good Philomena well done my little criminal give this website a name uh okay hard Bob's Gun Shop what are you doing right now oh you're still making that virus aren't you okay cuckoo and then we also need to make another web page programming level seven what could we what can we do now we can make mobile phone apps oh that is a handy one oh we just made 250 simoleons shut your windows and lock your back doors Philomena has released a virus into the wild this sneaky piece of software has already netted her 254. so I wonder if I'll get passive income from that or if that's it just a one-time payout I don't know we'll do um well we haven't made a plug-in have we let's make a mobile app there's so much to do with this skill I want to do it all oh actually Philomena I'll take back my money there we go all right second website done I think we gain Fame as well from making websites oh no have you got the tense mood buff again brain fried for 12 hours all right fine go and have some dinner have um some tamale bites and then maybe we'll try and sleep through that tense mode buff wait I wonder because you're focused can you actually oh yeah you can still do work okay that's good we got paid 3 000 simoleons all right cool gig complete go and get some sleep so we've got plenty of money now to cover the bills let's see what other gigs are out there I hope there's one for making a mobile game app oh small mobile game with Big Dreams okay sweet sweet okay well that's the one we're gonna do then a small mobile app and then that way I can actually do that as part of my um my freelance thing is there anything we haven't actually tried yet we haven't tried making a plug-in so let's see what that's all about I don't even know what plug-in is looks like a fairly quick process I don't know if we'll get any payment for that and then we'll also start a side job plug in a second to none she has earned zero simoleons from sale proceeds I need a mod for a first person shooter I'm playing I want something that will make it super easy for me to get points I hear you're one you're the one that can make that happen Okay so with side job I guess it's just something she just starts doing but I don't know how much she's gonna get paid for it and then maybe when you're done I can see you're getting a bit hungry so you can have some brunch how about a BLT oh we're going to be at level eight programming soon we are smashing this powering through the programming career see it's a slow start you know you get the odd gigs that take a long time and they pay like 100 simonians but look at us now I don't really know how interesting of a video this is going to be because it's just a Sim at a desk but I'm having a great time oh what can we do oh Philomena is now better at hacking okay so probably we're gonna make more money or we're gonna steal more money next time we hack oh that's good news for me yeah okay okay go and use the bathroom and then have um a BLT how are your other needs doing oh you're fine just a bit of food you'll be fine and then we will study the design documents for our freelance job and then maybe once we finish our gig we'll um have a look at hacking again see if we can make some more money I think we should hack the land grab system because they cut off our power so they definitely deserve it I expect once we get to programming level 10 every gig we pick well not every gig but I expect there will be gigs on offer that are like 10 grand in which case this would probably become one of the best paying jobs in the game oh no it broke again okay we'll repair it you can build up your handiness too what are you now probably coming on for handiness level two or three handiness level two I think there's like smoke coming off her from being from being electrocuted oh Philomena take a bubble bath and then maybe um we'll just do some we'll troll the forums oh for a minute you never clean up after yourself and then we'll go back to our mobile app we want something that's going to make a lot of money like that Kim Kardashian app with all those micro transactions do that do that Philomena has unlocked the techie lifestyle she's like nearly at skill point level eight so only at this point do we unlock the techie lifestyle oh wait no she's working through to programming level nine I haven't at this point every day has merged into one because we haven't left the house I have no idea how many days we've been playing through but I just feel like this is happening so fast and then maybe once you're finished with the app um you should just chat with people for a while fill that social need a bit that's been a struggle to keep that one up so we'll we'll talk to some people maybe find a little pen pal should probably I'm gonna say let's do a ground meal because then that way we've ticked off something for Harvest Fest because I don't want her being all sad like oh we didn't do anything for Thanksgiving so go and cook yourself a ground meal and then maybe we'll try and appease the Gnomes with um what would they like pie maybe quality poor oh did you make the gnome happy oh yeah you did you got some seeds good for you Philomena all right she's had a ground meal why don't you go get some sleep who's that cooling the drop-off has been made hang up I'm not interested I'm not playing your games oh no she's got mental fog from starting to burn out oh Philomena don't do that let's um let's continue making the app this is a long process making the app but it's got a big payout five grand so it'll be worth it not even halfway through I feel like by the time we finish this app we're already going to be at programming level nine Harvest Fest was pretty good oh good good oh so close to programming level nine yes we can now make computer games wow Philomena okay I think she's giving herself a break from the app now that's fine whatever talk on some forums do what you need to do and then maybe we'll make some pancakes intense brain fried from too much programming need video games all of her mood Buffs are bad all right we'll take a bath and then go to bed and then you'll wake up happy uh-oh Philomena is burned out burned out negatively impacts work performance and promotions energy fun and skill gain she'll recover over time but taking breaks oh that's not what I wanted does that mean she's going to say no to everything because she's too tense can you continue making the mobile app okay she can still get focused that's good uh we we lost our Celebrity level as well well you'll get it back once you publish your app I'm sure Philomena I'm sure she's very focused oh no yeah the deadline for philomena's contract is coming up finish any remaining time when's it due again 9 A.M okay we're so close this is actually taking quite a long time to make this app but I still think we'll get it done before 9am but I hope I mean she looks like she's pretty much done she's so close come on Philomena Kim K's fashion show all right sweet we've got so much money 8 000 simoleons so let's um right we should probably what do you mean continue side job I thought you finished your side job oh we still didn't help mod that kid's game all right we'll help him with his game 1 333 oh and now we can we can hack National Sim Security Agency oh we have to we have to do that I'm gonna see if I can find a gig that wants us to make a game and then that way we're utilizing what we unlocked right I think these are games puzzle platformer all right we'll take that gig so one of the things we unlocked at programming level eight was the ability to well just be better at hacking so if we now hack the agency we should be able to make more money I think we've played with everything we've unlocked up until level nine mod games make a virus the only thing we haven't done yet is make a video game which we're going to be doing as part of our freelance job uh only 200 simoleons from hack in the bank well yeah okay not really worth it I don't think Philomena is far too tense well what's it going to take for you to be less tense play a game would that make you less tense oh you've broken the computer again all right we'll just repair it okay I think she can do some freelance work now even though she's tense she can at least study the documents and then I'm just gonna have her work on the video game until she flat out refuses because I don't want to get too close to the deadline like last time that was a bit too close for comfort for me so let's see how we get on making this video game I'm sure we'll have to take several breaks but let's see how far we get on one home stretch well the good news is we're um really powering through to max out the programming skill that's how close we are to maxing it out the bad news is I don't know if she's going to complete her video game because every time I ask her to do it she does it for a few minutes and then she quits so she's doing it right now but then she doesn't really stick to it for any length of time I say that she actually does seem to be sticking to it now I just had her try and work on this video game like five times in a row and every single time she sat down and quit but it looks like she's worked through her burnout she had brain blocks so for a whole day we just did some relaxing stuff so I think she got over that so maybe she'll go back to normal now and she can stick to it but we have like well not long like a day and a half to finish this and we're only just halfway through making this video game so I don't know even if we try and stick to doing this the whole time I don't know if we're going to get it done by the deadline the sedentary lifestyle oh but we're so close to level 10 maxing it out and we've also unlocked the indoorsy lifestyle ah Philomena you and I we are the same achievement code Monk all right we've maxed it out we can now hack supercomputers oh well we've got to try that program hack super computer let's see if that has a big payoff oh what's that mood buffer a clear mind from recovering from burnout oh good for you Philomena we'll hack these super computers and then we'll see if we can finish this gig I'm not sure if we will but we'll we'll see we might be able to but we might not have time let's see how much money we make from hacking super computers I found so far hacking oh 930 okay that is a bit more I haven't really found that you get much money from hacking but I mean that's probably worth it 930 for hacking a supercomputer we've got more than enough money to pay our bills now oh no are you doing that thing where you quit are you gonna make the video game you're gonna focus on it or are you gonna just okay yeah she's gonna quit again oh that's not good you got over burnout come on you can do this you only have one more day to achieve this gig I think it's because she's got this brain fried mood buff so fine just take a bit of time for yourself although you don't have much time okay you've had some time for yourself can you commit to trying to finish this video game now if I queue it up like 10 times okay I'm getting the impression that she really does not want to make a video game because she keeps on quitting just keep trying come on Philomena you can do it oh please stop Crossing it off you're gonna fail this gig why why do you keep Crossing it off what's your problem brain fried yeah but if you take a break you're definitely not going to get it done in time I feel like there are some parts of this game that kind of um oppose the other because she's had like fears interfere with this with completing her gigs she's had burnout interfere with her gigs which is fine but maybe maybe to accommodate that they should have allowed for more time to complete gigs because I've had her pretty dedicated to just this job and I'm not too confident that we're gonna get it done in time oh bills have just arrived okay at this point I'm just gonna remove all of her mood Buffs I've already done what I wanted to do which was get to level 10 of the programming skill and do everything that comes with that but now I just want to finish this gig so view that focused work get focused we're going to finish this video game Philomena like it or not that's what we're doing it's been quite fun though I've enjoyed dedicating a whole video to just one skill I've always found programming to be quite interesting because the more you build it the more you can do I mean I know you can do that with lots of other skills but programming seems there are more options to make extra money so this has been fun I've enjoyed this Oh no just as you were finishing just as you were getting ready to finish your website your video game the computer broke so yeah I would definitely be up for doing more videos like this where we just explore all the different things you unlock through building skills oh we finished our video game and we've got 20 grand wait how much did we get I think we got paid six grand for the game and then two grand as a bonus I don't know what the two grand was for though but we can afford to go pay our bills and we still have plenty of money left over and on that note I'm gonna end this video here I
