- If you come to Turkey on a holiday, what are you expecting
to pay when you eat out? (upbeat music) Turkey has some of the
best food in the world! And it's a great place to eat out, especially with today's exchange rate. But prices vary depending on
what part of Turkey you are, where you're eating it,
and what you're eating. So in this video, we're going to highlight what you can expect to
pay in a resort area, like here in Fethiye. From fast foods to fine dining. So, let's kick off with
a popular street food. (ambient music) So this is one of the most
popular foods in Turkey and you can get these all over Turkey, this is the Dürüm, or
what we would call a wrap. And this is a chicken one but you can get a beef one as well. (loud traffic) - This is their menu, and it comes with chips,
drink, and a pudding. - It's lovely.
(chuckles) So there you go, chips, some
pickles, a pudding, an Ayran, and your Dürüm wrap. So often in Turkey, you'll
get some pickles like these, which are lovely. But they often give you a chili as well, and the chili's can be mild or hot. (upbeat music) (laughing) [Woman] - That one is hot. - That's a hot one. (speaking in foreign language) - And here it is. Chips,
pickles, an Aryan, and I've had the Kefta
one which is 15 Lira. So if you want to try
out some real traditional Turkish foods, one of
the best places to come is the Lokantasis, like this one, which is not far from the
Otogar, the main bus station. (ambient music) The choice of food in these
places is just amazing! This is what you call a Lokantasi. (speaks Turkish language) The best food in Turkey,
is from the Lokantasis. (speaks foreign language) It's got a great choice, there's soups and my favorite is Sevgili. Soup has to be one of the
best value for money foods in Turkey, probably anywhere in the world. And the fact that you get
a whole loaf of bread, a salad, and some pickles often with it. It's just amazing. And for all this, it's 15 Lira. Pepper steak for 95 Lira,
that's about nine pound. You do find that a lot of
the restaurants in Turkey, they serve food from all over the world. And here on the menu they've
got Chicken Madras Curry for 49 Lira. So that's what I've ordered. Wow, and the chefs know
exactly what they're doing. Mm. So the bill came to 97 Lira
for two beers, and the Curry. (speaks Turkish language)
- Thank you! Center of town, a really
nice sort of restaurant area. It's 25 Lira for a big beer, that's a 50 centiliter, FS. Coffee, Americano, 10
Lira. It's about 8 tp. So the next place we went to
was a toasters and juice cafe. That have got very unusual,
little tiny chairs. And that's what you call a Toastee with Kaşar Peyniri and Sujin. Which is cheddar and Turkey sausage. And you even get a little dish of pickles. The bill is 10 Lira. This is a popular juice place as well everyone comes here to get mixed juices. And they're all 10 Lira, I think. - Apart from the milkshakes are 14. - It's unusual isn't it? - For nothing. - 10 Lira! So this is one of our
favorite places, Cafe Çaylı. And we come here often because
you get a great big plateful. And we usually have the
fish, chips, and salad, and the salad is amazing! And it comes to 45 Lira,
just over four pound. So what about pizza as well? The Turks make-
(loud traffic) extremely good pizzas. Some of the best pizzas
I've had in my lifetime have been in Turkey. And I'm in a place called
Pizza Dünyası, Pizza World. So what am I going to have? Well, they don't just do pizzas here, they do Pide and Lahmacun, and
a few other things as well. And the pizzas come with salad! (speaks Turkish language) That's what they call a side salad. That's a meal on its own. Super. (speaks Turkish language) Wow, look at that. Mmm. And the pizza, salad, altogether, 35 Lira. Just over three quid.
(music intensifies) So were on one of the beach restaurants called Karataş Cafe. What do you think? - Isn't that lovely? - Pretty good. And you can see we've
just had a tuna salad and it was 25 Lira. And an Et şiş was 20. For a treat we went to
a funnly run patisserie called Romado, in Yerguzlar's last street at the back of Çalış Beach. Where the family make their
own cakes and ice cream. - One of those, and one of these. (giggling) So how much are these,
how much are these cakes? - 20, for one. - 20 Lira each one.
- Yeah. - So that will be 80 Lira,
and what about the coffee? - 15 Lira.
- 15 Lira. So 15 Lira for the coffee,
20 Lira for each cake. Wow, what a selection! That's a hell of a breakfast, isn't it? (laughs) - It's pretty good. - What do you think then, Tam?
- Delicious. - Very nice. - Wow, homemade ice cream as well. - One scoop is five for you. - One scoop five Lira?
- Yeah. So for each scoop is five Lira so this portion of homemade
ice cream, is 20 Lira. (giggles) It's Maraş ice cream, the
best ice cream in the world! So we're on the prominade
restaurant in Fethiye now at one of the popular
restaurants, the Bar Bunn. And then, I'm looking
at the chicken dishes, 'cause I often order chicken dishes. And they start from around 75 Lira, up to 86 Lira, which is about seven pound. - So you've got a lovely
choice of salads here and they all start from about
40 Lira, up to about 60 Lira. You got pastas that start from 54 Lira. And then the meat dishes
you've got that start, these are obviously a
little bit more expensive, for example, you can have a
Mexican steak at 110 Lira, it starts out. And the surf and turf,
surf and turf, is 130 Lira. Looking at the grills and
they do Chateau Brienne steak, two persons for 300 Lira,
which is about 26 pounds. - Most important thing for many
people, is the drink prices. And if you look at the
large beer here, for an FS, big one is 32 Lira, which
is about two pounds 80. And then they've also got wine, which, they do some good quality wines in these sort of restaurants. Start from a bottle from about
160, up to about 200 Lira. - These little dips are
complimentary, which is very nice. This is the Barb and chicken special and it smells delicious! This is 86 Turkish Lira, which is about eight pounds. And we're actually sharing this. (laughs)
- Good job, I'd say. - So we're coming out to a
Chinese restaurant tonight for a change. We're at China
Go, in Yerguzlar's La street at the back of Çalış. - The chicken dishes start from 40 Lira, which is about three pound 80. And you've got the beef dishes, they start from about 50 to 60 Lira. - And then you've got the set menus, which start, a single
set menu, is 100 Lira. - The quality of the food
is delicious! Can recommend. So we just got the bill
and for three dishes, that was the chicken,
beef, and king prawn, a beer, a coffee, soda, water, it comes to 200 Lira. - So this is the Hamdi restaurant, which is on the promenade
and they're very well known for their fish dishes. And
they've changed a little bit, the place looks fantastic! And they're doing a Grilled
Seabream for 90 Lira, which is about eight pound 50. So for something totally different, we come to a tapas restaurant, which is at the Taş Mekan in Fethiye. And they do pasta dishes, which are obviously a Spanish style. And the prices vary from
about a pound to two pounds, 12 Lira to 25 Lira for
each particular dish. I don't know how that
compares to all the places in the world, but it looks amazing! - Delicious. There's not going to
be anything left soon. (laughs)
- And it doesn't look like I'm going to get much of it. That is beautiful. - It's all lovely.
- Yeah. (chuckles) Good! (ambient music) So I hope that's given
you some idea of prices when you're dining out in Turkey. - Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell so you don't miss where we go next. - Thanks for watching! - Thanks for watching!
