What Anakin Told Sidious Right Before Obi-Wan Fought Him (NOT IN MOVIE)

hey guys in today's video we're going to be going over something that i found in the revenge of the sith novelization by matthew stover now keep in mind that the book is canon it was signed off by george lucas and if you haven't seen my interview with matthew stover it's really enlightening about a lot of different things i got to learn a lot of different things about star wars and revenge of the sith and the whole process of writing a novel star wars novel having it signed off by george himself from matthew stover anyways in today's video we're going to go over something that sidious told anakin before obi-wan actually arrived on mustafar that we didn't see in the film so here's the excerpt and then we can talk about it he was no longer afraid he was too busy pretending to be respectful the separatist leadership is no more my master it is finished then the image offered a translucent mockery of a smile you have restored peace and justice to the galaxy lord veda that is my soul ambition master the image tilted its head its smile twisting without transition to a scowl lord vader i sense a disturbance in the force you may be in danger he glanced at the mirror flash outside he knew that ship in danger of being kissed to death perhaps how should i be in danger master i cannot say but the danger is real be mindful be mindful be mindful he thought with a mental sneer is that the best you can do i could get that much from obi-wan anakin thought i will my master thank you the image faded so there are a couple things i want to talk about here so in revenge of the sith we know that once sidious defeats yoda or they have their parting of ways and he's standing with mass amida and the shock troopers he said let's go to mustafar i sense lord vader is in trouble is in danger now we got that in the film but this is something that he tells anakin directly and this changes a lot for me because when obi-wan says i have the high ground not only now in my head is anakin thinking okay i'm gonna show you exactly how powerful i am but he's also thinking i'm gonna show my master how powerful i am because he said he sensed danger and maybe this is the moment but i'm not going to bend the knee to that i'm not so weak that i need to find a different alternative route to go to the low ground and then meet obi-wan or wait until the pod goes a little further down the riverbank to a safer position and then anakin was too arrogant at that point to even think of doing something like that he was just go go go the best defense is more offense as johnny lawrence says and that was anakin's point of view and mentality as well so sidious saying this right there not only tells me that you know he definitely saw that obi-wan was gonna probably kill anakin or close to but that anakin even knew that obi-wan might have the upper hand and once he saw kenobi maybe he still had this in his mind that hey maybe this is what sidious was talking about so once he looks up to obi-wan and sees him for the first time at the opening of padme's ship there's so many things rushing through his mind you know betrayal rage anger but maybe one of the things is also what sidious had just told him after he slayed the separatists that hey be mindful which is another thing that i want to talk about this is the second thing it's kind of funny that sidious would ever say that and i'm really surprised that george would actually sign off on sidious saying something like this because this is literally something that qui-gon would say and it kind of comes full circle and maybe this is why george would sign off on it was because qui-gon was supposed to be the actual master to anakin skywalker and if he was none of this stuff would have happened and he was always saying be mindful now sidious is saying be mindful which is not the most sith thing that you would say so it's kind of cool how it's almost rhyming it's like you know qui-gon would have said this but now anakin has the complete opposite master who's still saying be mindful it's like maybe this is the force just telling anakin that hey you really need to be mindful and case in point you know it's pretty much his downfalls that he was not mindful then yoda says this later in empire strikes back how anakin to luke was always thinking of the future never on what was at hand never on the moment where he was what he was doing so all of this stuff for me is just really clicking and it's all connecting from episodes one through six now i should also mention that a power that anakin had which was beyond any other power that he had was the ability to see into the future and this is also a power that the emperor possessed not as well as anakin however just more developed at this time and probably could see it more on command now later of course they developed that into you know sort of reading thoughts such as when luke gave up the fact that he has a sister which vader felt you know either feeling emotions which sort of ends up to feeling thoughts now as far as this line also saying you know being kissed to death i think that's that's kind of funny but uh yeah i guess anakin would have been kissed to death when padme came to mustafar however it didn't quite go as he had planned now i do believe and there has been actual documentation of this where vader was thinking had obi-wan not shown up that he would have actually tried to go off with padme to naboo and maybe the galaxy would have been completely different so again you know obi-wan kind of pushed his buttons a little bit too much and anakin was extremely hot-headed so the two didn't meld together very well for the fate of the galaxy that is and pretty much everyone else now last but not least that i'd like to discuss is how anakin actually asks how should i be in danger master so the anakin that was fighting kenobi in my opinion wouldn't have asked something like this this is only something that anakin after killing the separatists would say kind of like his last moment until he really turned to the dark side and hatred just overtook him because the anakin that was fighting obi-wan wouldn't even care what danger would come to him so when sidious says lord vader i sense a disturbance in the force you may be in danger and anakin says how should i be in danger master city says i cannot say but the danger is real be mindful yeah i feel like vader just wouldn't even give a crap what danger would be near because he had the mentality that whatever came his way he would beat it and this was one of the biggest downfalls of the sith they all thought that they were invincible darth maul sidious vader not so much dooku he wasn't really a true sith in my opinion he was more of a well just a dark side force user but i don't think he was really truly evil at least not in comparison to you know vader and sidious and maul even so what do you guys think do you think sidious should have extrapolated upon what the disturbance was how he may actually be in danger because at this point in the book he didn't realize yet that yoda had sent someone to fight anakin so right when this transmission ends which i'll cover in another video yoda sort of gives it up that he sent someone to fight vader and mustafar and sidious is like oh please tell me who did you send to fight him and then yoda's just like you should just worry about your fate right now and not your apprentice so i think if palpatine had a little more time to not meditate because sith don't meditate but sort of reach his tendrils of the dark side into the force and see who really was going there and maybe feel who was going there he may be able to realize that obi-wan would arrive you know what else is also an interesting theory and a fan fiction that i'd love to create is what if padme wasn't on mustafar what if obi-wan was on mustafar and without padme i think things would have been possibly quite a bit different now how would we want to get there well we can go over that in another video but i think that would be an interesting theory and a fun fanfiction anyways let me know what you guys think about sidious telling anakin that obi-wan was going to be there or well that he was going to be in danger which eventually led to obi-wan and anakin seeing that obi-wan is there and feeling that hey maybe this is what sidious was talking about maybe this is the danger and kind of feeling insulted by it that sidious would even say that obi-wan is a danger to him because he was always trying to beat kenobi you know in their final end on mustafar anakin tried to kill kenobi the same way kenobi killed maul and essentially was kind of like a slap in the face saying that i'm going to kill you using the same move that you used against the sith lord so i'm going to use your own move to kill you so anyways i love finding these little tidbits and i just thought i'd share it with you guys and
