let's go again you grab the chain it might be good how's that i think it looks good is this thing strong enough to hold all this away uh you're the one who built it what do you think oh i'm 210 so it's an extra 210 pounds i got this strong and these pots are like 50 bigger than what used to be so this jasmine will continue to grow really healthy and i threw a bunch of worm casting nice a little time of day it is for you guys there it's the morning here and it hasn't rained in like a couple days it'd like sprinkle here and there so when it doesn't rain for a couple of days then we have to hand water the garden which is like an hour-long chore so i thought i'd bring you guys along for the ride to show you how we water this garden by hand so i have to start by filling up all of these buckets so [Applause] if you want sculpted chiseled arms get yourself a hand pump switch sides [Applause] come on ugh okay one more blue one go get it [Music] do [Music] people are asking why are we growing our garden in raised beds and we have so much acreage because of that that's what would be our raised beds yeah it's just a lot of grass that grows like this type of grass and um the salmon berries are crazy and this will all yeah you're very sweet there in your grass there thanks just trying to see our path our path got overtaken good hey hey our woodshed is empty yes we're filling it spill it full if you don't put your wood away in august then you will die oh my god what just throw it on the ground and i'll put it in next oh sorry nice throw though do another project just keep it swirls like swirly rays coming off and i'm gonna and uh i'll build the rays up with like some cob and then i'll impress rocks along them like a scales on a dinosaur's tail let's do it okay which side they're all really big so what does that mean kimchi time let's see if we can what do you think i think it's beautiful okay that is not as beautiful as you it's pretty beautiful all right here we go what do you think two one more or what i think one more one thing we did was did like successive plantings or staggered plantings so like we have more of it coming up here which is like a month behind i mean this one is like two weeks behind so that we harvest these big ones we have the b team about to make the jump to the a team and look at the broccoli flowers we left here loaded with bees so those are seeds for next year and i'm babe like this would be the hardest year to garden of all because everything's brand new but like next year all of our logs and witches will be broken down and the soil will be just the most fertile you've ever everything will grow out here is it bigger than my head yeah for sure so pretty all right lettuce wraps with this one let's do it kimchi and then let came here to tell you something so we came out here to do a picnic and also talk about our big announcement that we have a big announcement a big announcement babe i'm pregnant what no we're pregnant are you sure that you want to one be pregnant and two have this baby with me no i changed my mind what does that mean we are officially in our second trimester so now we can start telling people so which surprise i feel like this is a secret that you really haven't wanted to tell too many people because you've told your mom your dad i told my like really close family my best friend and my fans like my mom and stuff yeah normally you don't want to start telling people until like the second trimester anyway to make sure that everything is okay i mean this is the first time i've ever had a baby and it's the first time you've ever had a baby so we're both first-time parents and we're doing this together for the first time yeah so i don't really have a bump you guys can see it's not there's really nothing there yet but i'm gonna be doing more pregnancy talk on my other youtube channel my nicholistic channel where i'll like dive into how my first trimester went how i felt what teas i've been drinking what supplements i've been taking and then i'll do like a second trimester update third trimester of day blah blah and all that stuff so if you're interested in the mother's journey that's going to be mostly on your nicholistic channel if you want to follow nicole's journey as a first-time mother yeah and also i'm making a baby blanket crocheting a baby blanket i'm hand dyeing a lot of my own onesies like baby clothes and stuff with natural dyes like you guys have seen me do on this channel so if you guys want to see the cool colors that i'm making in the experiments that i've been concoctions i've been putting together i'll also be on there too i have to say i'm excited about this but i'm also worried because i love you a lot and i want to make sure that you're okay i mean i'm older than you and i don't have any babies yet so i really have lived my whole life without a you know technical family even though i feel like the dogs are our family the cats are our family that we're a family yeah so i just wanna how are you feeling with um being pregnant for the first time and especially with me i feel good i've had baby fever for like a year a long time and honestly we wanted to start trying before cobit and then covet hit so we're like let's wait because we don't know the state of the world it's also because of international border closures like it's very difficult for us to see our family and friends right now yeah even though the world is still kind of in shamble what kind of it is in shambles and whatever you know i'm getting older and i really want to start a family i want to be a mom i want to be pregnant i want to hold a baby what's your approximate age you're in your late 20s that's a great time to be fighting yeah so we waited and we kept talking about it and the time is right and so this is the planned pregnancy we want to have a baby together and it's been a very beautiful journey i think so far and we had a hard time getting pregnant we've been trying for a long time or what nicole quite often i must say says a lot you know jake i don't even know if you can have a baby i didn't say that are you even fertile no i didn't say that i said i like i don't know i've never tried for a baby before so you never know you go into it you know especially me like i don't know i don't know am i gonna get pregnant right away is it gonna take a while like no one really knows you know what it's gonna be like when you first go into trying to have a baby so and that's true we did talk about this but this sweet woman you see before you also has a very um sarcastic side and there's been a lot of talk about you know maybe we're just not gonna be the kind of people that have children whatever maybe jake maybe it's you maybe maybe you just can't have babies well then we would just adopt you know which is something that's still in our plans we really would love to adopt a child one day you know i've always wanted to do that it's your birthday in around may and when did we start trying around my birthday and when did we get pregnant in may pretty much first time trying you know we got very lucky so we started trying and then i left to go visit my family for the first time in oregon and my first stop was to see my sister and so i was with my sister in seattle and i told her that i might be pregnant so i don't want to drink and she right away was like well you're taking a test right now and i was like well i don't know if i want to take a test she's like no you're taking a test so so she made me take a test and it was actually a really beautiful story and a beautiful moment i will get into more detail on my other channel about like everything but we found out together it was very beautiful it's very emotional we found out together no we didn't find out i i found out with my sister i was gonna be gone for a week so i found out the beginning of my trip and i had a whole week away from jake a whole week so what do you guys think of the comments should she have called and over the phone said hey i think that we're pregnant together or waited to do in person what do you think what did you do well i ended up waiting i didn't want to call and tell him over the phone i just i mean i knew that jake was very understanding and he would understand the situation and i don't think he would have wanted to hear over the phone either so i did end up telling my mom and my dad my sister and my brother how many uncles aunts grandparents grandparents one and no grandparents an aunt best friend investor sister-in-law anyway sister-in-law which means she told her boyfriend husband no no so it's quite possible that 10 people knew that you were pregnant before me yes as you guys know if you guys been following our journey i've talked about my family before i'm really close with my family my mom especially and i come on i i couldn't spend a week with my mom and not tell her like immediately she already knew something was up so i mean what are you to do so i told my mom i ended up filming my mom and dad's reaction which was really beautiful ready three two one i'm pregnant [Music] what no you ain't yes honey did you know that i found out yesterday oh my god what are you serious right when i got home i told jake right away so now now he knows but he's very understanding and he knows i'm really close to my family and he you know was okay with it so i also want to say that this woman is amazing i mean because we had all these questions of philosophical questions of should we get pregnant is the world too overpopulated doesn't it seem like the world is more in chaos now than ever probably because of overpopulation and nicole and i talk about these things quite a lot almost every international border is closed no one's traveling for covent and nicole and i kind of felt like we were a little bit isolated a little bit claustrophobic because we were in the middle of komorebi in our yurt together 24 7. and now we really can't go anywhere because the world is shut down so we really felt off the grid if we did go into town the store shelves were bare nicole kind of took that as an opportunity to prepare her mental and physical body tremendously so i got to say like this person has treated herself as if she's about to go into battle and she's been doing fitness and yoga and herbs and organic wild nutrient-dense foods all these things that you've done to really i think make your body the healthiest it's ever been because if we couldn't decide yes or no having a baby back then i think you at least could control i'm gonna make my motherly vessel as healthy as possible i think that's kind of what you were thinking i think that your motivation for every workout every healthy meal was i am gonna be ready if we decide to have a baby together and i think now you're um reaping the benefits of that the first two months were kind of weird i could tell that my body was obviously going through changes something different was happening as a guy i don't know what this means it just you just i felt weird um very tired uh felt very nauseous but i i'm very lucky and i didn't get sick at all no morning sickness no afternoon sickness no any sickness at all i just felt nauseous slightly nauseous yeah i just felt like gross all day and i never take naps i hate napping i hate sleeping during the day i hate laying down for long periods of time one o'clock hits and she's like i was so tired i was so tired so tired it was so weird um every day i would get so exhausted so fast and we live such a high intensity life of building projects and you know we don't live like a cush life like it takes a lot to keep our our farm or property going so it was frustrating but also i had to respect like hey i'm pregnant my body needs this time to do its thing so it was it's a new lesson for me to just like be patient and it's okay to like chill the first two months were kind of weird and the third month i was starting to feel my energy come back food sounded good smells weren't you know as like atrocious as like i was smelling things i was like oh gross you were saying that you would the idea of eating food was making you feel a little bit sick and then you would smell something and it didn't smell good but then when you finally started eating it then it was like okay you were like this is good gracious yeah voracious yeah voracious you had a voracious appetite once you started eating that's a fun word yeah now i'm entering my second trimester right now i feel great i have energy food is amazing i like i want to eat it all i think this is the question that a lot of people are going to have is that you know people are not really watching this show for anything other than you and i are in a very remote off-grid location we're trying to live without connection to britain what's the plan for delivering this baby because we're very far from the hospital this is making a lot of people question what are we gonna do but we want people to realize that the hospital is not the only way to give birth yeah well i think you guys should keep watching because then we'll make another video about our birth plan i'll talk more about it on our other channel but we did find an amazing midwife somewhere for people who don't know like a midwife is kind of like a birthing coach a birthing godparent kind of like a birthing companion along the birth journey but then also for the birth itself and the recovery we met with our midwife once i've been chatting with her a lot over email she's been helping me with teas that i should be drinking and exercises that i should start doing and for the different phases of the pregnancy she's just been a godsend she's amazing yeah so she's gonna be there when i deliver the baby we also got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time which was very emotional way more emotional than i thought it was going to be it was a really beautiful moment that right there yeah can you hear it um we're trying to do things as old world and holistically as possible so we didn't go to the doctor until like the third month when your midwife said here's what i would suggest i would get your blood drawn yeah and i would have them test for these levels and then they can from your parents yeah so i met someone in our local town and we got the blood drawn and everything so we've been talking about sonograms and things like this but our midwife who's very holistic she was doing this one called a doppler scan yeah that she said is a very weak signal but you can hear the heartbeat and she did this with us yeah it was really nice and uh another question everyone wants to know probably is are we going to find out the gender no you're never going to find out no we're going to find out the gender obviously in nine months well in six months now uh we're gonna let it be a surprise we don't wanna know so put your guesses in now what do you think it's gonna be a boy a girl i have i had the feeling right away it was gonna be a girl but now i'm second guessing so i have no idea i've had dreams where i was a girl but then i've also had dreams of other things so your mom your sister a lot of your family thought is gonna be twins yeah but we only heard one heartbeat in the uh it's not twins everyone in the comments or if you guys join our premieres um a lot of people in the chat you know have been saying you're pregnant you're pregnant so for two years they've been saying well yeah i feel like maybe i'm like watching it more but a lot more people were saying it than normal but maybe now that i'm actually pregnant i'm seeing it more you know like if you get a car now you see those cars on the road you never really looked warm before but down in the comments we're taking um we're taking comments right now below this video for possible baby names boy or girl names and what you all think it's gonna be boy or girl yeah this should be fun what do you think puma are you excited are you excited for a baby what about you kai i mean i gotta say i've never had this experience before not either and and there was a time when i i've taught martial arts for a long time and a lot of the men in my programs they would be having vasectomies i feel like more men than you realize have gone out of their way to have a vasectomy as a young like early 30s man because they're certain i'm not going to have a child and i thought about that for a while i never did that i never did that but i really i've been to beijing and i've been to shanghai and i've been to hong kong and i've been to mexico and i've been to new york and i've been to san francisco and i've been to barcelona and these places have so many people and you and i i think have a really beautiful um a beautiful and blessed and fortunate life and property and i feel like i feel very blessed that we get to have this natural serenity around us maybe a good name would be serenity but i really feel blessed that we have our home here and if we want to go to a city we get in the boat and go across the ocean we don't sit in traffic but i am conscious through my travels of how many people there are on the earth and it depresses me and it's it's very sad so how do you justify bringing another human life into this world if you think that way and i just gotta say i mean it really is you i've i i didn't really have the urge to have a child and before i met you i was certain i'm just going to be this guy that travels and gardens and builds his own house and uh you know i'll go hang with my brother who has two kids and be uncle jake but meeting you and um i really would like to have a family with you and i really would like to see our baby together or babies together and i don't think that's going to mean turning you into octomom like i don't think we're going to have 6 7 8 10 children but having one child maybe two children and then maybe adopting i think is a very healthy balanced family and i don't know if you guys believe in religion or philosophy the bible whatever but be fruitful and multiply i think part of this human experience that we're all a part of i mean everybody watching this video is alive right now like nobody's dead watching this video we're all alive at the same time and i feel that part of that human experience is being a father and being a mother and that could be like a mentor to somebody or it could be a blood parent and i think that we're going this route and i'm very excited to do this with you and i think that you're going to be a fantastic mother 100. so i'm really excited to teach our daughter-son gardening martial arts chinese and the 20 things that i save just for my kids that you guys don't get to see i'm really excited to share whatever i've learned in life with them and then i'm looking forward to seeing if they become the saviors of the world you know what i'm saying i really want to raise our children to be the clean balanced answer to the earth not consumers dragging the earth down i'm done talking ditto and i can't wait to see you with our guinness honestly what i can and i wouldn't want to do this with anybody else because if anything happens to you it's going to be chaos so please stay healthy stay positive and stay in my life
