Welding Automotive Patch Panels with a Harbor Freight 125 Flux Core Welder

[Music] today we're going to form a patch for this part of the fender and we're going to weld it in with a flux core welder and here's a close-up shot of the patch before i bend it into shape and it is 20 gauge metal [Music] wow [Music] wow [Music] wow and here's one more shot of that patch before we weld it into place and then a close-up and here's a quick shot of the welder settings before we start we have the wire feed speed on 5 and the heat or voltage amperage set on minimum so wow ah [Music] [Music] [Music] ah [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so and now we're just to lightly tap these welds down and fill it so and before the filler gets too hard we're going to use a stanley sherform and cheese grade we got a little short one that's broken off we're just going to cheese graze cheese grate some of this extra filler off of there so we don't have too much sanding to do and i think i'm gonna need a longer one that's better so and you can see this save you a lot of sanding and a lot of dust [Music] so so we'll let that harden up a little bit come back and sand it with some 36 or 40 grit on a rubber block [Music] so so [Applause] [Music] [Music] wow so and we'll use that tape for a guide for our body line oh so and that's good it's gonna fit like that all i right like oh like that so let me sand this up d.a sand this area throw some primer on so you can see what the finish panel looks like after a few coats of primer this is the finished panel ready to be blocked sanded primed again finished sanded and painted i hope you enjoyed this video on using flux core to weld in a patch panel and if you did and you'd like to get my latest videos don't forget to hit the subscribe button you
