SHINIEST FUCKING THINGS YOU HAD SEEN UP UNTIL THIS POINT
Man, Weezer touring the Blue Album was one of my first legit rock concerts. It was such a cool show. I think it was ‘94? I saw them at The Warehouse in Toronto. There’s a pretty cool Hamilton, ON label called Sonic Unyon, and they had 2 of their bands - Archers of Loaf & Tristan Psyonic - as openers, and they both put on a great show. Then Weezer blew the roof off.
I’m proud to be old when it comes to music/concerts and even touring myself. I’ve seen so many amazing musical moments that will never happen again. One of the coolest was seeing Ray Manzarek of The Doors playing Electric Piano behind one of Jim’s poet friends (Michael MacLure) reading some of his and Jim’s poetry.
I saw Page & Plant touring Walking Into Clarksdale (which was basically a 4 piece Zep show without Bonham & Jones) on shrooms. The Lily Hayden Band opened and was cool as fuck. 3 days earlier I was at a festival with The Foo Fighters, Green Day, Moist & The Tea Party headlining also on shrooms.
I’ve toured Europe & the UK pretty extensively and I’ve seen some crazy shows/festivals along the way. I got to see Nightwish, Apocalyptica, Gary fucking Numan as well as a ton of cool bands you’d never hear of in North America.
Getting old doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
No. That's bad math. No, no, no, ,no,no,no.
It's also longer than the span from the time Happy Days portrayed to the premiere of the show.
I was in my early 20’s and still have the CD. Luvd Weezer for decades’
