[Music] good morning we're doing a long range trip today head back to the Gulf of Mexico see if we can catch a little bit of luck we get a kobia you never know could be Glide grouper king mackerel sharks permit and uh 6:45 sun's coming up so time to get going [Music] we made it back here using some artificials and using some bait got a nice little mustach circle there in a live pin fish and going see if someone eat something happy to announce we're back on the mustad team and uh you guys want to get any mustad hooks there go to the website mustad fishing.com and type in code stands 20 you can save 20% so thanks for watching the videos and following along hope we'll catch some on these fish on these pin fish [Music] today the weather man lied it is not calm Garrett just caught a jack we just ran another 30 miles supposed to be one Footers seven or eight knots of wind it's 15 18 knots of wi and it's like two to four with an occasional bigger swell but we're trying throwing some our officials oh fish on Blue Runner on hoping to catch kobia KOB is the main target out here is rougher than it was supposed to be yeah blue runner in the belly we're just kind of moving around drifting covering some ground and jigging away we got a little bit of bait too though for later oh Val Jack blue Runners and Cal so far the old Cal Jack we're going to save him for bait might need to use him later this is a big blue Runner holy moly that is a big blue Runner there's going to be happy that stone crap bait right there that is a trophy size Blue Runner oh amberjack mixed bag out here we're let him go and hope they'll turn into a big old amberjack one day here has finally hooked a bigger fish might be he just laying there now hopefully it's co everyone be a fish of the day can make the whole trip worth it if the ride home is going to be one to remember I promise you that it is windy and rough the other man lied to us this happened before though hope we see what he's got here it's AIA it's AIA the right tip the wrong size it's a good sign things are looking up stay true to his word he found a scoia Here Comes The White Caps oh boy oh yeah this is a good test you know a lot of people would ask about this boat what if to get out there in some snotty weather we're going to see how it is getting home today AR little Co the next I think it's a blue Runner new prototype through a new sample Nick stick oh we the Blue Runner all right big oh he just got a big blue Runner this might be this could be the one we want he threw another jig out there casting it and boom he got piled on I got the little Rod out hoping to get another bite oh yeah big head shakes the hook pull on the fish gar spre starting was a nice Cobia but it's a good sign of starting to get a more action so we see what happens not giving up big hook for big fish see what happens we've got a big old 16 o Circle up here we are going to hook on this live caral Jack for bait see if we get something big to eat them we're keeping in the rod holder we don't want to get in here he guys hurt any but got a bite we're getting a nibble we got a nibble oh yeah oh yeah you're tight and to the Giants out here I think it's a big Goliath this is one of our heavy duty stand rods 701 130 braid let's see what we got we got color oh yeah Glide grouper there you go not a big one at all just a medium one probably 60 lb or so but a cool fish and dropped it down there and had inant bite that live Jack but something big to pull on if you never call one they are fun to catch and they're pretty neat creatures they made a good comeback the last 20 years and we even did a season last year where you could Harvest one we actually were able to keep one last year with a special tag we got it so if you can see his mouth there he was eating a lot there's a lot of leader lineing there and a bunch of hooks but these fish are so resilient and strong like that down he goes one Goliad down that is our goliath grouper rig we're going to drop him down there and hoping that Kobe is uh get a little more active that could be the one we want there that could be a nice KOB right there he's got on we got the Glide group R down Hopey he's got a Kobe on that one little bit of luck and me and Andrew got the other jigs going coming up a little bit oh yeah oh yeah we tight back here now there could be a Kobe up there and a glid right here oh yeah wow he's angry going to be a big Goliath and a big k at the same time double header here we go here we go oh it's a shark it's a shark maybe it's going to cut this close to the shark you guys and a big old bull shark guys there are so many sharks out here you would never want to go swimming out here I know that's a Goliath but it's just a bull shark right here let's see whoa he's angry byebye Sharky so we think this is a nice kobia on here that Garrett has on we're trying to chase him down so the Sharks don't eat him cuz sometimes you're fighting these fish too hard and long and the Sharks lead them so hopefully he comes up here and gives us a gap shot hopefully it's the right type I think it is he says it is nice yeah baby that's what we came for a little pull there KOB when you G from they're notorious for twisting around and pulling but in thebody came that's a really nice one k is have these bad spines in our back here so you ever catch one be very careful of them I bet G has been spiked before Kobe way back here in the Gulf big one for Garrett on The Jig awesome fish and uh worth the ride it's going to be a bumpy ride home but we got it done and we still got time we hope we get one more we're sending down the live Blue Runner on the mustad 160 circle hook we're going down there for a big GL grouper shark whatever eats it it doesn't feel very big though got something on the Nick stick you guys could be a kobia it could be a jack it's a kobia it's our new prototype trying to sample them out cuz we were out of stock for 6 months kobia couple of them with them y right off times when he hook these up there he comes no he missed it so pretty cool there just a juvenile we're going to let him go but uh on the Nick stick as we like to say but pretty cool artificial oh there's a big bite on here too now oh yeah that might be a bull shark there wild wild west out here you guys sharks Kia Jacks little bit everything kobas are wild in the boat so he's just trying to get a good hold of them and get the hook out of him and we're going to let him go there you go though pretty fun fight we'll take it here you go Kobe on the artificial not a keeper but a lot of fun bye-bye so we just let go that juvenile Kobe and the shark I think it was a shark I think it was go on that big 70 pen but uh it broke up there broke the 130 lb braid we had heavy dra on it probably know 40 50 lbs of drag on it that Mark but we're getting rigged up and Kobe are the main target we' love to get one more to make it worth I'm still half we caught it but make it worth a run you know got this little lure ready again and drop the Nick stick back down King in lobia get the big rod down too on the Nick stick on The Jig I've never used the jigs with that head right there nuts lost them I can't catch them all nothing on that had another bite there we go three bites in a row whenever it's the same fish another Kobe I bet just to pull the hook on the first one seemed like a decent one had a little cheap bite then this here just at it again yeah looks like the right time oh pulled off there's a big bull shark just R to the boat we want our kobia hopefully to get away from the sharks so we're going to be patient with him hope he stays on there but see he scoped up the top homestead's finest hooked up in the back Tobe oh yeah nice Jack that be a good bait grab Vader Glide VAP just trying to be patient with him I G A finesse so this Rod here you know it's our new prototype like we were saying for the Nick stick trying to find another source to get them made faster for you guys cuz I know it's been a long uh 6 months for both of us but uh o he's not happy Slammer 3500 15 lb braid 40 lb liter and the old artificial see I might try to chase him down hopefully get him up here for lucky and maybe get a gap and Assuming he's a keeper he's got to be a keeper he's gone broke broke off ah w w w b on Andrew's got something big on I don't know if it's Kobe though might be a little bigger than we thought that might be shark I suffered heartbreak on the last fish thought we were going to catch him and the braid wind up breaking light braid and that's uh the one challenge that we fac you know fishing light brain light tackle for fun but pulling on a little bit and gave way just pulling on a little too hard we got Jack on here Garrett just got a jack two big bull sharks chasing right up for the boat they didn't want to mess with yours bigger Cal Jack they use him for gath bait or crab trap bait but done fishing out here with the jigs jig fishing baby artificials big bait for big fish down it goes manes are out here big baap big fish bu shark through the 400 lb liter back off that drag a little other way yeah you see those big head scks like that kobia that's yeah Andrew is tight on the Nick stick of the kobia Kia on the crab he came up chasing that uh Jack yet on and I wound up my bait dropped it to him I don't know if he's a keeper or not oh shark on him full shark on him immediately there's so many sharks out here kind of a double-edged sword you try to trick the Sharks nothing with them right another KIA KIA is R Us good bye buddy up real one there what real one there that might be our keeper if we get him Andrew just hooked off we're getting ready to resetting he got on a Cobia screaming line keep that bit of pressure on right there he comes up I'm going to race on him a good one that's a big one fingers crossed we want one more having a little bad luck today broke a couple off on a light rod and uh pull a couple hooks I think sharks might ate that one yeah I broke the lader sharks probably got him they just got a copia next to us I think I got good one yeah I see him big one all right watch out boat flipper big ones get away we catch the small ones kobia though still fun we're pack up to go home we're put away and G's like I ain't leaving throws out one more jig jigs it boom coob eats it comes out the top shark chasing them on the surface but we're going home no matter if we catch this fish or not this will be a rough r h right there the hook pull that's the sign it's time to go [Music] we caught a few fish y we got kobia some Jacks let go Glide grouper and some sharks did you go fishing yeah what'd you catch they were over rare over here okay you going tomorrow fishing again or not we're leaving tomorrow you are okay we'll enjoy your night here yeah we got one nice big Kobe let some go GL grouper sharks and a bunch of jacks what's your name John John I'm Nick good to meet you i' never been on YouTube you never been on YouTube Just wave to the camera say hey you have a cameo John's on YouTube for the first time it was a sporty ride home luckily we had an angle to it um it was not not calm you know was three to four Footers two to four I would say steady two to four Footers long ride home we went 151 miles total today and burned 94 gallons of gas we got 1.6 m per gallon we burned a little more in the right home cuz that last 30 miles we went up to about 50 mph Cruise so burn a little bit but want to get in there got a nice big Kobe for dinner so we're happy about him hopefully he's still in here nice and cold oh he's in there lost a few others but we're going to go we'll get him cleaned up and he's going to be a good dinner there we got some crab bait and that was an adventure back there today so Gulf of Mexico 150 m round trip weather man lied to us it's rainy and overcast back here but he I'd rather go fishing in that any day so we'll see back at the cleaning table good morning we did not clean the fish yesterday because it was raining and everybody wanted to go home so we kept some ice down in the fish box and now it's time to go clean the Cobia and the weather been lied yesterday was not sunny and not calm today is calmer than yesterday and it's bright and sunny and blue skies but sometimes it happens on weather forecast and weather predictions you know even we have Charters book like we try to move people the better day and today wind up being the better day but we still had fun yesterday we got a nice Kobe to clean up here for dinner and uh you know had plenty of action so let's get him out let's go f him up then we're going to see how we're going to cook him tonight for dinner come here buddy so it's time to clean this bed boy we sprayed all the Slime up of them they're pretty slimy fish and a lot of times when fish are the cooler overnight they even get more slime on them but these are those dorsal spikes we're talking about these are kind of rounded off on the top here you can see this last one that's up there but usually there's probably seven or eight of them here and those spines where his are kind of broken already when they got those things up there if you ever hit your hand on there or foot you know if you catch the Lely one it'll really hurt so be careful with them but as usual start up here Kobe's kind of like a round fish so they're a little tricky to clean they don't like lay perfectly flat on the table after that I'm going work on his back and just follow right along his backbone and nice sharp knife as always and just right along his spine there now as we want to work on this fillet and try to get you know lift it off of his body we cut to his spine I want to like lift it off his spine so we just got to cut over the spine just a little bit there to get the angle we'll have to break those pin bones that connect from his rib cage in there you can hear those ribs Kobes have big ribs right over the backbone and get the knife out here on the bottom I we go for a cut up here and separate this from the belly wall there's a nice kobia filet and KOB is a little bit firmer meat very good eating and it has been probably almost 3 years since I've had kobia I know we did a golf video when Co hit so that was we went back there now April 2020 so oh is that almost four years huh wow that's probably the last time had Kobe so it's been a while put this away here and we'll save these scraps for a stone crab bait they're going to go in the traps and we kept some of those Jacks too for crab bait and now this you could try to skin the whole thing on one shot I'm just going to do sections uh make it a little bit easier so just like that cut down to the skin roll the knife just like this Kobe does have kind of a thicker blood line on the skin but then we'll remove that Center bone there and the bloodline just like this cuz we don't want no bones in our fish and our filets that is a chunk of Cobia I'm going to skin the rest of this here and just do it piece by piece and we're going to have our good meal I don't know how we're going to cook it up not sure but I know it's going to be tasty we'll see you guys back in the kitchen that's the coconut let me see hold on hold on ah so that's it that's the coconut from the keys I'm going to use make the Jamaica rice and PE yeah want big up to my friend yeah know what's up good to see you homes respect every time respect yo all right there it is that's what holding it now should get it [Applause] now yeah you know see there this going to make some Jamaican rice some peas let's break it woo it's a good one it's a good one can drink the water too it's good M but the water is good it's a very good coconut it's coconut from B Mary right off the coconut tree so it's been a couple days it's time to cook up the Cobia Jamaican Mike is in the house he's going to make a tasty meal and uh what you got on M what you got in M tonight oh yeah you know big up yes you know so Nick glad to be back here your kitchen we' been missing everybody's been asking for him back in the flesh busy working yeah you know so today today for sure is going to be so going cook a Sunday style Jamaican dinner first of all the main thing is that um Nick got a um a Cobia yeah and Garrett technically caught it but it was teamwork oh good team yeah I lost my keeper this is just one kobia couple Lane Snapp but look at this two big fat bags and we already cut some of this up and L at some so that's just one fish so the kobia now so actually the style I'm going to do on that is like I'm just going to fry it I got the Louisiana fry mix which I like so I'm going to fry it and then I'm going to have it in a brown stew sauce cuz that goes perfect with the rice s pce and then I I did some chicken I bought a whole chicken right here cut up I cut it up into pieces and I'm going to make a lot of sunnday style Jamaican brown stew and I got vegetables and I got right plantings to fry up it's yeah it's going to be a nice delicious meal you know so I got the piece cooking already got the dryed peas I don't like the peas in the can so I always got the dryed peas so I had the peas cooking already right here and I got the coconut now which I'm going to take out and get it all blend up to get the coconut milk in there so we're going to start with the rice on peas and yeah you as Nick say Sunday Funday know we have some fun and cook up some food and thing and you know big up the O they call the outside shell the O and this in the coconut in the shell in the the so it's very it's it's it's not as hard to get out but you got to get a little knife like this and you got to go underneath it like that kind of rigs it around and that's so you're going to get the coconut itself stuff see comes right out of there and yeah I'm going to do that all of that then I'm going to cut it up and I'm going to grind it up in the blender and get the milk from it so [Applause] yeah cut it up into little pieces like Nick here preparing up the fish for me you know yes yeah on just get it in the water yeah we cheing it up turn on the medium run some coconut BLM here well you got to strain it make sure you got a strainer I had a strainer for a while so the handle came off but I still can use it it's good you know and then you make sure you strain it you get it in there but and you just kind of straight cuz you don't want the coconut trash anymore you just want the juice I'm going to blend one more time again this is like a first blend cuz I got some more left over here for another one but this is just to get the peas cooked in and everything get the flavor in you know and we going to make that cook for a while and then we're going to put some more again yeah on I always make my sauce from scratch and my brown s sauce so I get my water yeah you know make it up from scratch so like this I get my water boom and then come right here just one for this so I'm going put it on so that's for the sauce so first I'm going to go ahead and I got ketchup I'm going go ahead and get some ketchup in there giving away my secret a little bit but I'm not I'm going to leave something out don't worry I've been asking where you been Mike missing you oh right back now y walking out the kitchen Haven had a brown stew in a while yeah you know the brown stew is a hit down here the brown stew big I put my ketchup and then we're going to put a little sugar not too much just a little sugar in there and then that's lemon juice right here but they never know we got some lemon juice in there this is burnt sugar it's called Browning but it's like a burnt sugar from Jamaica I got to have that in there and then that goes in there give it a little color I got to have some butter nice chunk of water in there that's good yeah it's going to whisk it up a little bit so you guys can see so now I got the color in there yeah so right now we're rolling along I got the sauce going right here coming on it's boiling up coming on getting oil to fry the stew chicken cuz that's already seasoned up so boom we got the stew chicken the brown stew we're going to get this fish all nice seasoned up make that nice got more coconut thing to do sauce coming up that's going to be for fried chicken drop a piece of garlic in there get my oil all nice and hot and then like you know so right here the rice and the beans are cooking up cuz they dry beans so I got to kind of have them really cook nice easy does it like that so it's itting all nice and hot now I don't want it too hot it's a whole chicken and I just cut it up see boom too fry like I'm going to fry a nice H you see the a slowing down so I don't want to put no more right now yeah so man season up the fish you know time to get the fish going yeah man wash it off dry it off yeah yo n like AE Chef he said now I can be his helper yeah you see it yeah oh nice I was get you're a clean Chef I like that I'm trying yeah I'm going to Tin it out a little bit to the to where we're going to pretty thick play kobia there s's got apron you want you hungry for fish is this your apron all right let's get cooking we got a Jamaican Mike special tonight sweetie all right it's so nice little Medallion fish like that and there they go yeah so we're going to cut up cut up all Sid like that and we can turn it ni take care of the fish in the meantime I'm going to take these out these are nice and fried I want to start taking this out and Fry another set of chicken yeah we're taking out the nice chicken this is just fry style because it's going to cook down in the sauce yeah got perfect yeah that's all I want it right there it's not too hot yeah big up to my friend I just want to give a big shout out to the number one Chef in the keys you got Jamaican Mike here the privilege the honor you guys don't know about this I'm looking forward to this meal it's good to see I'm glad to hear Charlie much love much respect always brother get it done look at this beautiful spread show how we do it the island in a yard style you see it I got a special Pepper for Nick it's not too hot so I'm going drop a pepper in it and some skeleion and some fresh time you know and I put some salt in there here so let that go simmer now and we're going to take out some fish now and you know yeah we just keep it going you know yeah then if you want to try it on camera just to see we're doing this to kobia now and this is just what type of fish like Louisiana fish fry yeah it's a Louisiana fish fry you know super basic he said you could just fry fish like that too it's no no flour no egg wash like that but exact ah good it's good right I'm put the brown sou sauce on it and that's what I'm like about the louisi in fish you see it's smooth you see when you fry you don't have no cross no Crush nothing yeah very smooth soft yeah I'm on we eat that I found the fish I want some so Mike's doing the finishing touches here he's getting some green onions cut up some regular onions some Tomatoes got some what are these pentos yeah pero whole spice Callo got some whole spice there he'll break that up right crush it up mix it in yeah crush it up but I found myself a little a little crush a little grinder grind it all like that yeah cuz it's going in that sauce too so I may as well make it Mike's working on the brown sauce we'll have scallions on it onions tomatoes some pment it's going to be a tasty treat when he's done here yeah know Chef off for balance you know oh yeah you got you got onion tomato garlic green onion some ptos about everything yeah you know this real small normally when I'm cooking bigger I just I have a food processor and I grind them up but right now I just kind of get it cuz this is we're just cooking dinner you know another brown stew coming up see so we have this on we just so we're going to make another brown stew that we're going to get that in there so you see so that yeah maybe a little bit of this this is kind of technical Nick so put a little bit of that we don't want it too much perfect now when I cook it down in the sauce so you see I can make the brown stew with the sauce I can make the sauce separate which is kind of cool put some flavor on it to soak in it when it start to cook down we're going to put the rice in now yeah wow for real M you know that's enough to that's enough that goes with it so yeah I put a little thickener in it now get it nice and thick there it is R boy that cook now it's Sim like so I'm going cut up the V cabbage for the veg right now you know yes and then so we get this going that's the Cabbage for the veg there yeah you know boom I got butter and onions for the veg going and this is um mixed vegetable we're going to put the beans in make some veg right there so yeah all that for the veg nice got the sauces ready I'm making the veg now rice on peas ready brown stew chicken ready make some chicken delicious oh the chicken very good good job good sauce too put the plantings you know normally I'll cut them up but I'm just going to go straight to the yeah I had something just a simple veg and then we'll add cabbage to it yeah I just spill it some he spilled the brownie cleaning that out there but Mike has got a feast prepared we got chicken we got coia we got what's that plantains yeah fried planting fried PL and then got your chicken over there got one sauce over there another brown sauce over here coconut rice rice s peas yeah yeah and now peas are actually beans correct no yeah rice and beans but Jamaica we call it rice and peas yeah but it's rice and beans but this is what the real coconut you see the coconut I put real coconut rice the original Jamaican style and one real quick thing this is the original well slightly some people cook it a little different but this is this the Ste chicken Jamaicans cook on a Sunday original Sunday dinner and the Virgin so you know say the fish go ahead ni yeah it's time to get it plated up here and get everyone's opinions we've been snacking it's actually really good but we're going to get everyone's opinion here at the table and uh let you guys know how it turned out you're left-handed yes we always discuss this every every year every year you devoured it yeah we need some opinions here I got to try bite too what do you guys think did Mike do it again like usual Ste Ste Kobe and brown sauce and the fish it is good and the fish is super soft too good job fish delicious the fish uh the rice is
