We Switched Chicken Feed... Heres what Happened...

if you take anything away from this video it is don't buy this chicken feed right here just don't buy it let me explain checkers what's going on guys welcome back to Hummel's Acres so as the title of this video States we switched chicken feed actually exactly one week ago today I bought a new bag of feed and up until then I've been using the Tractor Supply Nature's Pride brand I think it is it's just the the yellow bag and it comes in 40 pounds and it's definitely the cheapest you can buy but that is not a good thing and let me explain why oh it's producers Pride not Nature's Pride so after hearing a couple things from other YouTubers I didn't buy this anymore so I switched to this this you can buy from Tractor Supply as well it's a little more expensive and it's also a 50 pound bag so it's a little bigger but one week after switching to this let me show you what I got thank you if you watch yesterday's video yesterday was about 63 degrees and I said in that video that today is going to be winter again and I wasn't lying it is cold out here so anyway since the fall time I've been giving them that producer's Pride feed and the AG Lange slowed down drastically I know that's normal but usually it only lasts like a month or two now I have what do I got I've got 14 hens and one rooster so throughout the last couple months out of 14 Hands I've only gotten probably five or six eggs a day some days it's a little less but typically I never got any more than six eggs so I watched another YouTube video and they recommended switching from that producer's Pride feed to a different feed so last week I did that all right so it's been a couple days since I got the eggs and like I said we're getting six eggs a day that's a lot more than six eggs a day now and I know new ones are laying because of the quantity but I've got a hen that lays this kind of green colored egg and I have not seen this green color AG probably since October so like I said I haven't gotten them in a couple days so typically this winter I would have probably had maybe a dozen eggs right now so right now we've got 24. they have absolutely doubled AG production in one week of switching to that food and if you're watching this and you're familiar with chickens I have no idea which one lays that green egg out of all these if someone could leave a comment and tell me which one does that would be awesome that I thought last year that orangish one was in there and then after it came out I went in and I found the green one so I don't know if it's that one right there but I don't know I know the barred rocks and the the astrolopes and all that are all brown I just I don't know which one lays that blue egg but anyway I really wanted to make this video so hopefully it helps someone else out so if you're buying that producer's Pride feed from Tractor Supply I highly recommend switching to a better brand and seeing what it does for you seeing if your AG production picks up and the only thing I could think of that the that I was getting six eggs a day is because I bought brand new chicks last spring so six of these aren't even a year old yet so I'm thinking through that they're a lot more hearty and lay through quite a bit more that's the only thing I can think of that the newer chicks were laying the six eggs and then the eight other hens I got weren't doing weren't producing anything on that producer's Pride that's the only thing I can think of but anyway if your egg production is slowed down give that a shot see if it picks back up and hopefully this video helps out someone as a different video I watched helped me out so catch you guys in the next video from Hummel's Acres
