We Slept Overnight on Scotlands Luxury Train to England (The Caledonian Sleeper)

this video is brought to you by Squarespace so tonight we are saying goodbye to Scotland I think in the best kind of way we're going to be catching Caledonian sleeper all the way to London this 12-hour Journey on this overnight train includes our room and our middles we're going to show you what it's like to stay in a twin club bunk setup room on this hotel on Wheels Explorer I feel like we've found a solution and fingers because his first time in the big city take over the spot that she would enjoy or if you're a big kid at heart hey everyone we're Steve and Jess and little Hunter an Australian family who just had an incredible week exploring the Scottish islands and Highlands this is so fluffy Steve but as we sadly say our goodbyes to the short but Bittersweet trip it also means we're about to start a little friend's getaway through London and France but more on that later as we make our way down to England so we're currently up in the Scottish Highlands and instead of doing the six hour drive from Sky all the way to Glasgow we are up here in Inverness where our sleeper train will begin and if you guys are not interested we did a two-part Scotland Road Trip series I'll link them down below if you want to see what we got up to so it's about 10 to 7 in the evening and we can start boarding about eight but we have somewhere where we can hang out foreign that kind of sucks we've booked like a ticket which was meant to give us like lounge access it's not open all right hour to wait till our trainer [Music] so we spoke to someone they just decide whether they want to open it or not but I'm just happy this give me away [Music] so we're boarding in about 10 minutes and Stephen just talked to the lady got 10 pounds off each right yeah for not having the lounge so we saved some money oh my gosh I just found a mop oh with this one the bags can barely fit through the um Corridor oh my gosh in bathroom hi honey so I think pop this in the bathroom oh she's trying to bring it in here thanks honey oh okay wow it's like small but luxurious I love how instead of chocolate like you know how they usually give you small chocolates on the pillows four boys chocolate bars oh thank you so there were three different times you can book on as you can see we booked the bunk bed it's nice and cozy all right so we were going to we were going to book so they do have like a double bedded room and they were booked out so the only room we could do was the bunk and I definitely think it is quite like a squeeze with three people but it's all about their Journey all about the experience paper scissors rock and rock on a sharing with Hunter other foot okay ready dad paper scissors rock yes [Music] [Music] so we all checked on they let you board 45 minutes before departure which is nice because we definitely needed to play a little bit of Jenga I was looking on the tracks and I think we definitely are the ones that had the voice luggage but I feel like we can get away with that because we were also the only one through the toddler right so at the moment our bathroom I would give you a tour of it but um it is currently used as our luggage space for now but I think when we go to bed we can kind of reshuffle then and then we can show you in there it's about 8 45 and it's way past Hunter's bedtime and the club car just opened for dinner and I think we're gonna go get some food dinner time [Music] [Laughter] aha it's a big train huh honey are you going first Hunter are we moving now yes she doesn't care now because she has a sticker this is exciting it's begun yes yay I was looking at the menu it looks really good I know what I'm gonna get for desserts say yes yes including toots U the trickiest meal to eat on a train I like how they give you fancy salt pepper and it's served in like proper China and when we did the Amtrak and we got given like a little microwavable dishes remember this is nice and this is so much cheaper than the Amtrak train there we go starters a red lentil soup it's a little spice and I just remembered I've just added a bunch of pepper should have tasted it at first with soup a little spicy pumpkin risotto oh good word Hunter as good as the soup wow the fruit in here is very good noodles oh that's good okay I need to know if this is a Scottish thing what's it called again toots dumplings ducky it's someone's bedtime it almost looks like it's fruitcake steaming oh it does smell like fruit cake what is this it's like a fruitcake in um warm custard I feel like this is a Scottish thing getting into there you go see what you think of it where's Nessie in the lock no who's good ducky where's Nessie at the zoo no who's in the zoo monkey can she be in the Loch Ness is it the same person wait before we go to bed I saw something very important that says it's our breakfast menu oh that's important that is important I think they bring it to our room so you basically like take what you want for breakfast the time and they'll come bring it here oh that sounds good so let's do that Daddy's putting our breakfast on the door before we head to bed thought I'd give you guys a very quick tour of our little bunk beds now they did actually emphasize a lot about the mattresses when you're booking and I can see why these are definitely one of the most comfortable mattresses that we've been on got full linen we've got two pillows each which is a first every single sleeper train we've been on it's just the one pillow plus they've given us a little journey for night time so it comes with an eye mask and some earplugs which if you've never been on a night train before sometimes that is Handy to have but I think we should be up for the sunrises in the morning that's a nice little touch and then back here I can put on a reading light plus I can control the main lights as well and there's USB charging as well which is perfect if you just want your phone to be charging overnight plus they put a little stand here so you can pop some water in there which they gave us complimentary but honestly it is almost 11 o'clock and we have a 7 A.M breakfast call so uh I'm gonna hit the bed we'll finish giving you a tour this time with the bathroom as well see guys in the morning [Music] I feel like we found a solution Hunter we're having a sleepover yes hello oh she looks so cozy and I see no I just Dolly oh okay you got a little dolly and mommy cuddle Nessie all right night honey [Music] [Music] something special for hotels sorry [Music] all right we've moved the bags out of the boxer so I can give you guys a quick bathroom tour so we do have an ensuite and it's not Nifty so I'm looking around where's the toilet realize it's suspened so you lift up the bench and the toilet's just there close it up and we can have a shower what's in here it's pretty cozy is what they've actually giving us full towels to have a shower they've also given us some Aaron body wash shampoo conditioner hand lotion everything you need we've got about half an hour until we fall into London perfect amount of time just to have a shower and feel way more refreshed when you get into your destination let's say no they're having a shower on a plane or a train so because we have a Club Car twin bunk day included our breakfast and rather than heading down to the club because we just wanted to happen in bed because it's not every day you get breakfast in bed they just brought us some breakfast now there's so much stuff to choose from we just saw it at seven in the morning we might just go for like a granola and yogurt they brought us some coffee as well and Hunter had some porridge and also given us some juice so that's pretty good having some breakfast in there so we just have some breakfast as that we've ever visited and probably the one we visited the most if you're new here we have made a ton of videos all around London last time we were here it was for Christmas and we went up the London Eye we roasted marshmallows at Hyde Park and we went to the Christmas markets and then before that we came in summer and we showed you guys all our favorite street food here in London we went to cammed markets also went to borrow markets where um I tried my first oyster but we'll link all our London videos in the description below so you can have a full picture on how to plan your trip to to the UK you can't miss going to the Warner Brothers Studio [Music] now I honestly thought that they just turned the film studios into the studio tour but no they still make movies today and you're probably wondering why they still have all the props most films when they're made they essentially just destroy them once they're done like they don't need them they make the movie they move on like with Lord of the Rings hobberton in New Zealand once they finish the original trilogy was completely destroyed the reason they still have these is as you guys knows they were still filming the movies as the book was still being written so they weren't sure do we need to hang on to this or do we not because there was so much secrecy with the story so that's why they still have so many thousands of original props to this day [Music] do you want to have a look at yourself in the mirror [Music] it's crazy just how big and intricate these sets look you just feel like you're in Dumbledore's office London we went to the coolest thing it was basically a Harry Potter inspired cocktail Mixology class so it almost felt like we were making potions not cocktails and we had a look and they started doing something for kids it is a what Harry Potter themed afternoon tea chaos [Music] the Unicorn that's right [Music] you did the fire you have eight dragons breath cocktail all right I'm strong can we're heading out to the British museum now we normally don't go to a bunch for museums because usually it's quite hard to show you guys on the Vlogs but it is so interesting coming to this one because if you guys know much about history the English they've kind of taken a lot of artifacts even to the point where like we were in Egypt we're there to see the artifacts there and they're like oh yeah you want to see the King Ramesses the second boss it's in the British museum they have some really cool stuff here so we're heading in also together the heat London is very hot right now let's go check out we've never been what do you see can you see a bird that's called a mummy [Music] um what is it it's a mummy mummy oh that's crazy oh that's a wooden comb it's Cleopatra's cones that's the necklace for cone so enjoy something a little bit different today we've caught the train outside of London to come to Windsor Castle this place was built a thousand years ago it's the largest current castle in the world that people still live in and has hosted monarchs for over 900 years so there's a lot of history here thank you stand up easy kind of cool we just jumped in and we managed to just time her perfectly to see the changing of the guards
