hi nous friends and welcome back to my sleepover today's video is honestly my childhood dream come true because Netflix just released a brand new series based on the TV show geek girl which was my favorite book in middle school and honestly when I got the notification I wanted to scream and I've been waiting so long to film this video today's video I'm not filming in my room I'm actually visiting my friend in Greece and I'm in between moving apartments right now so I don't know how the quality is going to be how the lighting is let's get into this reaction I'm so excited I really hope that don't mess it up please don't mess it up okay oh I love that oh my gosh she's so pretty man oh my God she's just like I imagined her from the book I mean except like I think I imagined her more with like freckles and a little more of a round face but honestly they did a good job with the character trying to be invisible trying to fit in until but I do feel like she looks a little too perfect for the book character got discovered and invisibility became an impossibility okay one thing though I feel like the monologue until I got discovered it sounds a little unnatural it's like someone's forcing you to say a monologue and a drama play wired differently than everyone else oh the fact that they have bcar instead of basar but also like where's the chopped hair because I remember in the book they gave her a b this is a story for anyone who's ever wanted to be someone different it's a full metamorphosis a person who feels compelled to look up the word geek in a dictionary I remember reading that I have my best friend Nat that's her by the way okay um I don't know why I'm not sure like what her ethnicity is in the book but for some reason I always imagine that like a Hispanic girl Hispanic the hair in the mouth congratulations oh that must be so uncomfortable if it was me in that role I would definitely be like okay cut we're like changing the hair also like for the director too like just retake the shot it's not that hard okay focus you're doing this for n she looks perfect though politely loath each other like normal parents the mom looks exactly how I imagin her the dad no though I imagine her a little bit like more like chubby why is he not even Ginger because like he's supposed to be Ginger she's Ginger where did she come from is she adopted it's not that hard to find a ginger actor to play this role just saying I'm Toby but I am I am I am my existential crisis at 2 a.m. right oh and that's the bush I love you n but these necklaces are ancient we should I remember I always wanted to get one like that Pilgrim the weirdest thing is I remember the book so well but I don't remember this character wish I wake up oh I literally can't let's go let's go does anyone actually talk like that in real life how are you okay she is pretty now I know this is exciting but as I prefer not to lose any of you and therefore my job I love her already sweating like a pig pig don't new sweat glands to regulate body temperature uh why are you even on this trip why are you filming why would you take pictures position we have Lexi Roberts mostly followed by her minions oh I think I remember her oh come on Pilgrim now please we do not look cool har nothing about this looks cool do I look like a model to you table football model I love those kinds of friendship friendship Duos they're honestly the best Nat's biggest dream come true and very much not mine oh I don't know how I feel because I imagined him looking completely different like that's the worst thing when you have a book crush and then they make a movie adaptation I'm pretty sure Nick had like green eyes or something no who in the world is that he's cute he's not like I imagined him from the book but he's cute wait did he actually just look at me Nick baby can you get me reversal M Water there's OJ don't kill me for this but I imagined him different I don't know like what did you guys think he looked like because for me it was probably more along the lines of I don't know how to pronounce his last name like Thomas Dorothy I think but like a little younger you even imagined him looking a little like Timothy shalam let me know what you guys thought of him and like if this actor actually matches your image of him I do like him but I did Imagine him differently red I don't think it happens like that Ryan a flight what Evans Natalie gray your number one fan and maybe your next biggest find is this fashion useful and starting just isn't enough I'm looking for something unique I remember this moment from the book it felt so sad but also like I don't remember if in the book she just went to the modeling agency and they like told her she didn't fit or if it was actually like this because I read the book I think it was fifth grade or something so I don't remember the exact details but I wonder if they changed it in the film like if any of you actually know this just please let me know because it's going to bother me at night let me take a selfie you cannot actually touch these oh that is not how it was supposed to happen where's the table scene I loved the table scene being buy 1:00 I'm pretty sure that's not how it happens it just natural I feel like it's supposed to be a little more natural than that I didn't mean to I promise I really didn't mean it why are you filming do you have nothing better to do with your life film yourself make some money off of it that sounded a little wrong are the mug shots really necessary I I didn't they're you've just been discovered need to find my friend that she's she's perfect for this actually I thought there might be 11 of you like a football team wait where's the table scene is it going to come after this one because I remember it was kind of like before or was it not hey everything all right where's the table say something cool no say something smart where is the table but I avoid hats at all cost it's very nice hair sort of like a lion's man what's my name harri maners I'm Nick Park Nick Park a name I can see being scribbled in many journals over the coming days where's the table scene I lived for that scene in the book you can't just take it out of the movie TV show whatever a it's a star just know yet except here's the thing about stars they're born out of chaos but once we start shining the universe is never quite the same again oh my God okay I have so many mixed emotions about this one first of all I'm not sure about like the character's appearances like for those of you guys who have read the book and then you're watching this just let me know like if the characters actually match what you think they looked like because I'm pretty sure in the book like it said that har had green eyes she had freckles and I kind of imagined her looking a little different I definitely imagine Nat looking a little different from harot I'm not like bashing any of the actresses obviously they'll look gorgeous they'll look amazing but the problem with like book adapt ations is that you always have an idea of like how the character looks in your head or how the character looks in the book let me know what you guys think about the casting I hate that they took out the table scene I lived for that table scene that was the best part in the book let me know if you guys want me to keep watching the TV show because I definitely will and I'll also keep watching Max and Hall if you guys want it the monologue feels a little unnaturally spoken in a lot of places but other than that I'm still happy that they made it I'm excited to keep watching it let me know your thoughts in the comments because I'm going to be replying to every single one and I want to have a conversation
