We Built a 1300HP Hellcat Jet with Twin Turbos

i've never used this nitrous bottle on a car i'm just bloated around the shop a bunch nitrous is cool and all nitrous is awesome but everybody uses nitrous on their hellcats which makes it boring i'm thinking the most incredible thing we could do to a supercharged hellcat that dodge gave us absolutely free with no rules whatsoever except we had to keep the factory engine we had to keep the supercharger we are going to twin turbo it yes this is episode 2 airing apart a brand new hellcat but we're tearing it apart for redneck science which means it's a good just cause [Music] when i first got invited this race the instant thing i thought is how cool would it be to twin turbo the hemi hellcat and that's when i decided to call the guys over at helly and i talked to john the owner of hellion and a really cool guy and he's like hey i've got a kit where we can actually twin turbo the hell cats so that's what's inside this box i don't think the turbos are in here but everything else should be in this box they sent us tags good thing because we don't have a tag on the back of it well let's not look at that we got inner core boots heat protection kits these guys are legit i don't even see any zip ties in this holy that that is gonna work very well oh that's cool i think this is gonna be pretty easy there's a lot of stuff to do in a short amount of time but we'll get it figured out that's a lot of stuff to make twin turbos work right here is where the turbo's gonna mount it's gonna tuck up in behind the k-member and set underneath the car so we're gonna have a turbo here we're gonna have a turbo right here now we've finally got our precision turbinators look at that little beauty but it'll make wonderful noises hold on wait wait wait what that's fine we just gotta put that in don't worry about that dude that is gonna be sweet that is gonna be awesome all right we gotta loosen up all the bolts start doing adjusting start making all this stuff work together let's get it done it's funny in boom there's a turbo there's a turbo on this car it's officially on there boom there is officially one turbo mounted to this car we are going to have a twin turbo freaking hellcat yes it looks so sick almost like we knew what we was doing it's going to have more than 20 pounds of boost underneath the board the blower's gonna take whatever the turtle's given the blowers go back oh thank you turbo and then it's going to push it down into the hemi engine and hit me and just go like oh my god get off there hold on here i'll push and you push oh yeah baby now hellion if you're watching this i know this wasn't in the instructions but i'm pretty sure it should be boom and look what he did he tried to do it with his knife and look at his finger i've worked on this thing for three and a half years it's time to finally see what it sounds like and see if it actually still runs figured it out it had a vacuum leak i forgot to hook this hose back up so i stuck my finger in it now it runs good that's a professional western tech tip you got a vacuum leak stick a screwdriver all right guys it's kind of sad because we got to say goodbye to the srt todd charger the y-bar the one that started the bull horns she's going home [Music] and uh actually they're going to end up crushing this car so don't worry about the dust it came that way can you believe that it's not like somebody drove it through a quarry two keys she's a good girl make sure you tell them when they get to detroit say this to a car does really good burnouts that it doesn't deserve this [Music] please work you know i think it's tired i think it needs a nap or something maybe don't know but it just don't want to work service fuel sensor i don't care about the field i'm thinking that the computer is not liking what's going on and it shut off something we're just gonna go with those out of gas that's why i won't start please run we gotta go i'm a champion [Music] it's running stay running just do this is gonna be so awesome all right let's get this strapped down let's get to ones we have driven throughout the night to make it to freeport illinois to get this cartoon it is currently 4 11 in the morning and they're having their county fair here which means there's not one single room available so we are sleeping in the limited the things we do for race cars but look i got westinggw.com merch i can use it to throw over my head and take a better nap that's pretty good how'd you sleep oh it's been a long time since i slept in the truck but it was worth it all right let's get out and see if we can find the student all right how you doing you tim yep this coffee holding man shaking my hand is tim bart he is a gift for turning anything with a hemi into a fire breathing tire destroying monster world records for the fastest hellcats fastest demons and he's agreed to help us i'll check everything we'll make sure we'll get the gates set up we'll make sure the boost controller works i'll get a tune in with the injector we gotta get plugs in it he's telling me all the things i up but it's not a very long list so we're good if you put the hardest here you got most of it together the rest will get affirmative and i got four hours of sleep i'm feeling good about oh yeah um you've got so much cool stuff that's one we're building to run sevens that's my uh 21 year old son that was killed seven years ago eww loved him on the car so like the 8 13 on it that's his birthday yeah i don't have a tribute car we're going to put in the low sevens this dude's got stove pipes running through the middle of this car you don't have boost until it takes up your passenger seat we're gonna drive this all the way into the wall or the finish on either way we're winning he can win a race too if the guy's coming up on you just go over in his lane dude i've been telling him this on his lane just jerk the tire like here i'd see him hit the brakes or turn signals yeah what's up cameron some of that jet fuel that i've been hearing about how much is this a gallon 11 bucks a gallon well we can't afford to race it but if we could it'd be fast battery going dead so quick no did y'all plug the alternator back in let me look all right right there's a problem i'm having all kinds of fun how about you oh it's it's a blast what are you doing i've been working on this car three days i'm tired i needed half holy that plug needs to go here and that needs to go up there is there any way to caulk these housings a little bit yeah you have to loosen this losing weight and adding horsepower upgrade we're on the dino oh it sounds so good oh you can hear the turbos oh dude that is sweet control yes we're doing this yes is insane did you feel the heat of the car just pull the exhaust that moves 863 to the tires they make 630 stops 640. it's already 200 200 above and we're just getting gold i'll try that 20 pounds of booze we got it controllable 21.38 we got a little bit more boost 24 pounds yes oh hell yeah 942 horse the tire right now this thing is a monster yeah we're not done all right i'm gonna let it cool down [Music] [Music] a thousand four we got a thousand horsepower car to the wheel oh yeah man that dude that's gonna be sweet i can't believe it like you know because the thing about is like on the drag strip it did spin but it didn't spin that hard dude the turbos the turbo sounds so good huh it's fast yeah it looks fast it sounds fast i get to drive it holy actually give it any gas yeah well i didn't get fully on it because it started to break a moose yeah i mean i could do a hundred i bet and break them loose you could be cruising 80 or 100 matted and that thing would go sideways i know i know i'll send you my log i'll tell you how to load it in there it's very simple and i'll tell you exactly how to log it for me and go out and log it all i want to do is just go like this and it and if it spins and you're going to send me a log and i'll start chopping the power out of it and that way just whenever i i don't even have to think about like when you're racing people you don't even think about it's just going to be like go i'll hell yeah that's what
