Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Chase 1/2: Really curious base of the mountain starts. Very few people have really gotten away with it. Granted, Surge did get an evasion off it but I feel like it puts the evader at a disadvantage to start.
Chase 5: Another example where spotting could have saved the evasion. Or even thinking one step ahead. Dominic was doing quite well early on and even seemed to just be faster than Gordo. But when he jumps into the Tilted Cube, knowing which way Gordo was leaning would have helped. Or just thinking that the likelihood Gordo actually jumped all the way around to the very back wall is extremely unlikely. Swinging back to the Sisters was just so much more risky in that scenario.
Chase 6: Nice evasion by Gordo. He does a good job with spotting and making informed decisions. It's an underrated skill that some evaders don't realize is necessary. I'm a big fan of Sparsha as an evader but his chasing lacks a bit of urgency and direction.
Chase 8: Nice dive by Tarzan.
Chase 9: Sick dive by Alec but rough landing. Definitely looked like it affected his evasion round.
Chase 11: Nice hand tag by Evan. I think Jornathan from Antidote was someone who went for that a lot and it's a nice tactic that people aren't always ready for.
Nice showing by Empire. I think Gordo was their best player in this match. If he didn't stumble, there's a chance he could have doubled up. Though Jeremiah is one of the faster chasers for Hub.
If I had to say what I think could be improved about Hub, it's that they don't really have someone who exhibits the kind of tenacity the top tier chasers do. Jeremiah might be the closest. And to be fair, not every chaser needs to have that quality. Davis and Haroon are two of the best and are way more methodical with their approaches. But guys like Seth Ruji and Seth Wang go hard for all 20 seconds and they don't let their target idle. They're diving under bars, swinging around corners and constantly forcing their target to move. 90% of the time, evaders can't afford to make a mistake while chasers can make 2 or 3 if they want. Perhaps the best example of this is Seth R. vs. Xavia (Link here). Possibly my favorite chase ever because Seth applies absolutely relentless pressure. And Xavia did slip in the end but it was likely due to the fact that Seth was forcing him to run at full speed the whole time. Xavia only made one mistake but that's all you need. Another example with Seth W. vs. Loic (Link here). Obviously not everyone can quite do what both of these guys do but that type of pace means less time to think/plan and will force mistakes.
