Walking Through Disneyland Week 1 | 2019-03-09

good morning everybody welcome to fresh-baked busy the peasant is the baked fresh daily I am your host David that's my wife Liz and that's Cinderella back there I don't know what six years fifty two weeks three hundred three hundred weekend's later and I'm still impressed that was still like I can't believe we have to come into this place this morning so this morning today I felt like we've had a lot of themed days recently you know events things like that like special things we've been trying to do but today what I really feel like I want to do you know considering you know the feeling that we're having already right now this morning sings in the rows back they're greeting guests warmly look at her she's so Cinderella I think I'm just gonna I want to take some casual walks through the park and today we're gonna start with Main Street in town square and right here the bit the main entrance and sort of soak in that that Disneyland app does that sound like a good idea definitely over Lake it down from the relaxed day or they got the coffee and enjoy the ambience and I would say I think I speak for both of us that we could probably use a little bit of that [Applause] that's a train wait guys watch this is one of the coolest things about the main entrance at Disneyland is that that's gonna happen any second as I sit her in awareness how's the vehicle reckoning yesterday let's go to Disneyland now it's different for for Liz and I because we obviously are here every every weekend but I mean is there do you when you used to come like iterate early with your family once or twice a year maybe right that indescribable feel when you first get here like the anticipation that's one of my favorite thing is when I'm on Main Street overnight when I people watch on Main Street it's all that anticipation you can listen to the folks you know just like you made it through the threshold right you've made it through the gates and all that waiting and everything is there's life out there and what's happening to you he's going through the parking structure driving here from wherever you're coming from from LA from San Diego or from even you know points further away or from a hotel and the walk-up everything changes as soon as you cross a Suzie crossed that threshold right there everything changes and now you've been transported into this place and it's just I mean right now is just getting started we haven't even gone through the actual threshold fantastic absolutely unfortunately I did a lot of going into the monorail now that I don't have much obviously I think more exciting dude that's what I'm saying and you go through the monorail and you're hi guys you're not you're not doing it right this is this is bright this is the way you know like it was very exciting when I would go up to the discipline hotel with my big astro van oh yeah I get that now that it's just more about going to the part that is the hotel coming through this way you don't get when you do that you don't get the Train greeting you and you don't get the sign that says that you're leaving today and entering a world to yesterday tomorrow in fantasy and you don't get the guys doing the tour right now don't get any of that right everything all those problems that we had yesterday morning are gone yeah they're gone now it's just you me and Disneyland and a new and meet fresh pig let's go up to the Train thing I want to get the Vista right he is I could do this all day if you do this all day especially when it's like non-seasonal we're pre-spring a little bit why the spring is actually quite beautiful here at town square but when there's not you know a lot of stuff sort of getting in the way of you know seeing that the the original vision of wall I mean Town Square is a little bit different than how it was initially three speakers Ebola right here just like a minute and you got this guy right here invest loose was dressed down there asking him we're trying to get an update on Penn give me some good news I would be in tears right now I know that looked scarier than it was okay so I can won't be driving the truck anymore I think he's he he hasn't recovered as well you said Fergus fall he actually hit about my yeah Oh Mikey he's in this early eighties and but mad this week cast member up they keep in touch and if he does come back he will be a greeter or somewhere not yeah right over here which I mean that's right in his wheelhouse anyway because he used to do the greeting memory everyone yeah that broke dropped he was a green revoked Ron and I I just wanna know my heart right now all right but yeah so unfortunately no more shoes flying up in the air when you ride down me speak but that's ok well there's lots of great cast members out there to give you lovely tours of Main Street [Music] what's that horse's name five is that bug baby could be bug let's go find out what that horse's name is let's get into some nuance of town square and Main Street Disneyland this ride it used to cost you I think it was like a quarter when you win it when they first opened c-chief cheapest it's one of my favorites that stated yeah by the way the guy you were thinking of is working the train right now all right let's do this way Oh ding-a-ling no no we're just gonna walk and talk this morning it's almost time for spring flowers honey or those the trees that will we get when we get to the hub to treat the Main Street with that tree at the hub blue blossoms in the spring holy heck that's gorgeous I can hardly wait it is the most underrated time to be at Disneyland in my opinion because in terms of just how beautifully people talk about how beautiful the park is at Christmas how amazing it looks at Halloween springtime the flowers the colors it looks fantastic here's the fire truck that guy's fun I remember him his name [Music] he's fairly new to me but I remember having a good time riding with him in the past let's go over here remember they used to have the hook and ladder company play out here my girls never like heard of a me if they touch Main Street ever there was an initiative other people think that there is an initiative I should say that they are trying to scale back live entertainment like yeah because notice nothing replaced hooking ladder get rid of it all and altogether cluttered about altogether with scaling back nothing replaced hook and ladder nothing replaced the Jedi training academy it's gone I know that and nothing replaced these horses and Jess where to chesco d for Disneyland no D for gullible are you sure the D silent there's no D in gullible are you sure fire fire fire you could probably do a badass fireman's carry good any cop to like [Music] the Poughkeepsie Phoenix house or hose look at this thing it looks like something that you'd find at Buckingham Palace that's supposed to be a firetruck fast Oh [Music] what you find over here so that's like the the horn you wouldn't the fire is it's nailed down - oh my god something actually moves well I guess I've expected the actual castle to be mailed to them because nothing isn't nailed down in the fire station on well because he wanted to make a vintage turn-of-the-century Main Street right so everything that you would have found there were used to be a bank yeah there used to be another fire station there's a City Hall there's a you know there was a police station I think like a fake one anyway but he just wanted it to life you know and he's into that kind of stuff right and this thing right here you know it used to used to ride that domain well I look at that actual one that this was the actual man but they they had one of these that you could that was one of the main street vehicles and it's really dark right here and I can't see you oh the light but yeah I don't this is one of those things that's kind of like them it's kind of like the the entertainment that you get on Main Street the dapper dare and so the or the or the straw headers hey this thing right here we don't know how much this means to us when we because we because we kind of passed by it how often do we come in here like barely ever but you couldn't if you said hey Dave let's take out this let's say you could fit an attraction in here an actual ride we got to take out the fire station and put in a ride I would go I would lose my mind I would lose my bet like doesn't matter yeah it's part of the yeah yeah you might as well say yeah like you might as well ask me to go to to the Sequoia National Forest say we're gonna put a ride and we got to got a couple trees like we should do that well this is a Sequoia gracefully ascends the Bay Street fire truck now you got to act like you're riding or your there's a horse aplenty and then you say and then you say way to miss tell well anyway we're on it we're on fire truck just have to take our word for it it's hard to tell well there it is there's the fire truck now this is what our view is right now [Music] no way if it works thank you sir cool he came in here just to do that like he knew that is that that's a thing Wow I wanna do that was with him in now I'm gonna copy that man can you reach it it's like way up there that's way of things that's way of that Troy if you ever one of people watch this is a great place to do it just chill up here for the next two hours from the Main Street fire station wait wait shorty got there she got there yeah really good all right yes that's like a two and a half alarm fire Vince I think you did it like - well there's a little on fire - on fire so if you bring it five times that means it's a major a major fire my best with her all the time but pretty much right about Friday what's a five alarm fire you guys tell me [Music] [Applause] let's not go yet I want to walk around this little place right here first we sort of cultural izing spring flower so pretty [Music] [Music] there we go here we go [Music] oh my god my god it'll open [Music] give that kid a camera somebody get that kid a camera no no that was anyone I was 43 [Music] it was fantastic I've only heard that mon-sol is wrong with him kind of everything today [Music] and you get this beautiful view down Main Street into that pristine castle then it's just so majestic and wonderful and it's a spring no well it's almost spring [Music] [Music] fantastic [Music] that is our goal we're gonna try to see if we can't get all the way to the partners statue by the end of this episode it's going to be tricky cuz there's so much lovely things to see along the way like all of that Main Street and we've already spent 10 minutes just cruising around Taos where look at these lovely spring flowers list they're beautiful look at how lovely they are they're almost as lovely as you you're so pretty you're so pretty no I said they're almost as pretty as you oh there oh oh there as okay guys I never said my boo I'm crushing it over here she's like what am i ugly No [Music] this is the point right now fresh-baked when you're here with your wife your girlfriend or your significant other take your hand you hold your hand like that and you walk down Main Street with the person that you love and just soak it in early don't rush like dawn oh yeah I hope people were like booking young also important about Space Mountain that you got a skip Main Street you got this nice musical loop behind you see in just a couple weeks these trees are gonna be crazy beautiful now [Music] [Music] and his last time you did this it's no one we're on the porch Keshav you I love bait sorry Oh oh my god [Music] [Music] I told you it might take us a while to get all the way down to the home to see like an hour's French I could have done that for an hour that's for sure it was it was like we're straight to save we got it we got to get up and keep going I've always said I could do an entire week's worth of shows just from this from the entrance to to the partner statue I could do a whole week oh it's just a I've never seen that before it looked like close close I'm like yeah we're not now but it just says it'll be open at 11:00 [Music] [Music] [Applause] mother [Music] but we've made it we've made it to the hub [Music] you can almost see them kind of coming out a little bit the cherry blossoms or whatever they're called [Music] down over there [Music] have the boy we got a big Dumbo day coming we're gonna have to include that in our Dumbo day coming over here and getting a picture with me I'm gonna pound us Dumbo she's gonna pound as Timothy Q Mouse they always have those cones on the planter the hanging planter that bloom comb me for the perfect thing oh that's what that is yeah yeah but she was saying you can almost see the blossoms starting to come out here a little bit [Music] they know [Music] [Applause] with this conscious Jiminy Cricket [Music] pretty butterfly normally this would be the point where I would close it out I'd finish off with the castle right here but I mean you still get the idea you can infer from reference [Music] people are still taking their picture though in front of it not the second but there were do fine fights a little birdie there [Music] little sparrow [Music] I love nature let's go see some of this nature over here I can hear them yes staple gun they're probably destroying the castle they're tearing it apart yeah girls here let's find out it's the birthday churro let's go back to the Corrado while in there as we look at these swans stop looking at me Swan are there any ducks in here no I know I want to definitely see the babies there's more ruckus having Annie back here I'm telling you they're tearing that castle down they're gonna rebuild it put them Olympus and Dragon on there this is lovely is she you guys know about the a little hidden message from Peter Pan back here you go up these steps all the way back here sometimes this might be roped off maybe I don't know but I never knew that right there Peter Pan has declared his love you Wendy Darling to Wendy Darling yeah even though I think he's down he loves Tinker Bell but obviously they can't work now it's the other way around I know we all don't think about Peter Pan I think he has a soft stop she's gonna look out Barry I don't know Peter Pan and Wendy forever I feel like he was like a bachelor with like Wendy but I don't know I don't know I've never actually I'm thinking that's really really cool no I really enjoyed can we just do that can we just do more of that I really could just stay here all day are they just stay here right here no we can't do it though ride they can't we yeah let's do it not this time but I really did enjoy that that non ride mark walk down Main Street and through the hub and into the grotto find a little bit of mystery yeah that was cool like a cute little school ladies just oh that's like God you see the tree you look what tree I don't think I've ever seen all right so what do we do tomorrow that's tomorrow let's do the same thing we just did but we'll go to Fantasyland the room through the castle will pretend to go through the castle if we can't because the castles in the way or the scrim is in the way but we'll go to fantasy then we do the same thing tomorrow we'll do it dark right all right we'll do that tomorrow it's a little known a little no piece of trivia you know about them so the scrim that's in front of the castle now is in that way kind of accurate it's really accurate all right now we're gonna go to Fantasyland today and I would love to take you through the castle right now but because Sleeping Beauty put the scrim up because they're trying to stay faithful to the original story because she's sleeping we're gonna have to find a new way in let's take another way it hit the fantasy line are you gonna be okay Laura does sleep sir - well that's why they made them sequel an awfully funny we do love our Sleeping Beauty Castle we do yeah it is the og of alright let's go to Fastlane yes the less scenic way into medicine although we do get a lovely Matterhorn serenade on our right and from here princess has done this good so which darkride should we do which other darkride should we do of all the dark rites that we can do which one should be going are we going through here you know you're at Disneyland when you hear that music when you walk through Venice I mean come on this is one of my favorite little nuances this little door for rabbits house you kind of nailed that a little bit the mr. white rabbit heart it's the big door she must have had the piece of cake [Music] lovely little hat store it really is my feeling it's not always routed well it's tiny so thank goodness I need one person to explain this ears to me like it's not like Disney it's known for their doughnuts yeah I know if they were made of churros maybe how would you make it true many years just curb it good idea Disney if you're listening I make it sir Oh Minnie here let's go out these doors right here oh I thought you mean like for real yeah [Music] stay tuned fresh big Dumbo dates coming when the movie comes out we're gonna put out a movie we're gonna watch the original is you probably well nutrition already because it's very sad maybe yes we're gonna watch the movie we're gonna ride Dumbo we're going to bound Judy I already mentioned this we only found what else are we gonna see the new movie of course a little review we're gonna eat is are there balloons in Dumbo and then we're gonna get a picture from that Dumbo that we talked about in the last episode and now I am - it's gonna be fun so stay tuned for that what dark ride should we do Elizabeth and Erickson Erickson not badly not a I've always been a fan there's no white queue considering all that they've done in such a small space they've crammed in a lot of beauty and a lot of really cool theming in this little tiny few the queue itself even though it's like just two switchbacks look at that I mean ducks hi duck [Music] and she would be protecting let's stay away back these these trees right here were placed intentionally because they evoke a sort of Gothic death like quality especially at night this looks really cool I mean look at this looking over here come on you get the you got the skulls up there that they did manage to go ahead and install that lamp right there and I'm not even being sarcastic what is it closed oh me too that's why I bought that knife there before they closed but it's now just a holiday shop full time smells like Christmas [Music] okay keep that annoying I'll put a pin in that you seen it it's just the purse collection what does that one so this is like I said Alice oh he's gone I mean this just wonderful how much they can do with such a little space here in Fantasyland right I mean honestly go ahead take town that was so much rather they take toontown that I told you about that dream I had that they right now I'd sit in the livestream that I had a dream that they that they didn't remodel tomorrow and they just closed it the Fantasyland took over here we're also gonna try out the Beauty and the Beast shop which looks like it's a Dumbo shop now for some interesting turn of events there so it's not a buting the beef chef it's just a general princessy kind of thing yeah well you know that it's just fantasy land that's interesting all the colors just once I read a book once [Music] that's great I have this I'll give you them no yeah they're kind of weird I don't I'm not down with these I almost feel like you know supposed to bring anything into that I'm sorry what so I wore worried here eyelashes done girl oh really let me know there gets to be a little bit everything here we got a sky way too fancy last shirt and mr. toad shirt a pixie dust supply company shirt they've been sharing the magic since 1955 here's a little bit of the demos this is a kid shirt no that's for that's for you yeah oh yeah [Music] through the magnet no I don't know what it is but you can sit in it there's like a little seed in there well it might be stuck into that were with the dark rides and all that and this is just like some other place but it's not it's big right so don't touch a you can touch me be fast line be you can have this let's go up in here though I I don't I can't believe that this has lasted as long as it has in this in the way it is because it doesn't really serve any purpose other than is a viewing area for the parade and and it used to be using a small world cue but they don't need that anymore so you've got to think you have to think that there's a plan because they went through all that oh yeah look at that they went through all that trouble to improve the queue for small world so they can get people out of this area right yeah why do the birds do that sho'nuff do you think so do you think it's like hey ladies oh yeah or it's stuck help stuck are you think he's trying off his wings what do you be flapping with me that's true yeah that's look you know let's go get a closer look at that bird but you got to think they have a plane if they're gonna go through all that trouble right we did it written like this was me for a cue for small world or well I don't know what this was made for initially I mean I think it was for the lights magic thing that they did this was you know the setup for the lights all that stuff was he's still doing it I really want to that is take off chop off the the monorail track all this stuff that goes on back here chop off the track yeah flattened all this we've got yourself a couple acres you can do something with this right here I said we really love it we really love snow white that's the you know that's the the word that I heard he's back at it again come at me bro the phrase that that one of my context told me the phrase that he was told he doesn't know what it is yet but he was told be ready to lose something that you love they can't be king Fantasyland you can't get rid of what do you love what I mean what do I love most and I feel and look but I mean I mean the majority is probably at the middle of the center of fancy like right when you throw to the castle but the role of dark rides the royal dark rides in the carousel that's fantasy wait this isn't fancy let's do - well you might as well just I mean that's what Disney man I know go go do something to Tomorrowland man like you can have half the monorail track the Madison theater yeah whatever just look at applicati line isn't it I mean I love me a good little theater show me too I think the magical Madison's been around for so long it's a big piece of property right now one of the things that's walked this way one of the things when I when somebody says speaker prepare to lose something you love what comes to my mind this Storybrooke land because it connects with this so if if this is expendable and they need a little more space what else you know and that connects with the other parts of fast line to and you can create like one sort of continuous it helps you it helps you add buting the beast to that already-existing scenario over there I know it sounds terrible that's like are you gonna get rid of the whale well yes story buckling now we were supposed to be taking a tour fan sign that's got dark didn't it it really got dark just things are gonna change I guess now this that I think is up for a major a major change I think - I don't disagree with that but what the people apparently are getting is bigger and better fantasy not the old school the 1955 version of the pendulum you know that the modern viewing the beast type stuff so I mean like I've always said on the long enough timeline you have to figure everything is gonna change these an I can't stay in this way forever but I sure would hate to lose storybook playing I love this ride more now my god you know we haven't been in a long time either mine same team she's my girl would you be able to meet tink you're very tank like I am oh that's right yeah that was your Instagram handle for a while call me teen call me tea yeah hey I get her fiery jealousy fine cuz I get very well I'll have to include that in a future episode soon but this is another little this used to be King Triton's garden or whatever they called it yeah and I gotta likes that - this is cute - bye I didn't mind he tried this out there but like his I like this this is lovely his Trident there's a frightened he holds a train yes you want to call me King trident I knew the voice yeah you know because I want it I want to I want to film the lovely little Pixie Hollow the thing they got going on in there that's it's quite lovely it's another part of fairness and it feels disconnected a little bit from the rest of the fantasy land yeah there's like a little bit just a bunch of parts you know this is also the area where you could meet Ariel there's a big like clams yeah it's also where the Monsanto House in the future was right for those inside those that hedgerow right there yeah that's where it was Monsanto is a house made of plastic well there you go guys that's our Taurus on Oahu we started hey I love finish it look how cute it is look how cute everything is over here at Fastlane I love it all and then they got dark because I can't help but talk about things like that I just can't help it let's change things up where do you want to go next what do you want to go tomorrow what's your land I do like things man fraternity number now still has there's no yeah it it closed over the winter but reopened over I think of this spring so take a train to get tomorrow and animal kingdom oh yeah yeah a planet watch yeah you lose to her live Casilla it's like the one train because the abscissa girl that side facing because the treats it met that's true yeah well it it has a lot of views of backstage also like a really cool yeah oh yeah because it's got the it's the that's a buggy Johnny luggage and all esta yeah yeah it's not he's a good shot hey it's all that military training and a ghost writer what we go for older coast [Music] are the spiders of spiders down Wow nailed it you need a boost no can you see over there she shoots really fast to somebody gotta be ready it's gonna randomly shoot them what exposition we don't get to do that very often that's another one of those things like well listen I were talking about on Main Street we went to the fire the fire department on Main Street people skip that a lot people skip the shooting exhibition exhibition a lot yeah but now they used to shoot actual pellets yeah that would have been a very long time ago yes way back in the day they but they used to shoot actual pellets yeah and there was actual like gunpowder that you because it had yeah you need something to need something to expel the pellet is air right it's just there yeah yeah then no word well it's fairly long stretch it was they need that for people coming in and out of money they're also only up to the point where that that that walks entrance you couldn't wear the upper cheese yeah but I see like the stuff it in my brain says that's so funny I never really thought of it that way I'm gonna try with the second one Oh Oh what magic because it has such a hard note to pineapple the sweetness really really counters that nicely I'll try with apricot [Applause] that's dry very chewy I want to prefer I think I prefer the final assault wow this is better than Eve very just gonna go oh my god you just did you see that he just went for it then pointing that through where the fact is that show Ebola so a Jesus it's not overly spicy bendings right right you kind of then this case also been fried with up with the bread right step pepper that's been with the breading and it's also been a really I don't normally go for green chili already yeah chicken musubi with and I am standing in front of Tomorrowland and another picturesque backdrop just like we did for Fantasyland the screen behind us oh yes beautiful stunning iconic can't wait there's nyan the iconic the iconic Astro orbiter is right behind us we're gonna take you on a little walking tour today I'm Tamar Lynn that's so much to show you the aesthetic beauty of tomorrow because I mean it's seen better days it's not the most aesthetically pleasing better days but I do but there's lots to talk about yes because we've got things happening things possibly happening in the future so we're gonna walk around here a little bit in Tomorrowland will tell you about a little bit better over here in a second let's see what's let's see what we can see in the land of tomorrow 1987 and talk to me for a second before we even go in there you've got this this entrance to Tomorrowland which it used to have the world clock which was pretty neat and it pushed the walkway so thin on the side what how do you feel about astral orbiter being dropped right here how does that make you feel when you enter Tomorrowland not only does it create traffic joke points and also visually instead given that they determine impedance I'm officially across you team does plant right out front that's not how it works right the way he's supposed to bring you into the land that wasn't even the weenie was the wasn't at the rocket engines you know the other the mission to Mars rocket ok originally opening day yeah cuz thickest the view would have been a little bit cuz there was no people mover tracks so the view would have let you seen a little bit more right yeah anyway yeah I mean we've talked about this little bit before but I am NOT a fan of this right here so having lives on the ground it it's not it's not really any different from them when it's higher up you did what that helps to create it from Dumbo yeah if so much is just the Tomorrowland version of Dumbo I didn't the rotating the opposite direction yeah yeah having a higher on the platform gives me that extra oh I'm a higher up right let's differentiate it from I do like the ride that one whenever we go on it I have a good time even though I get a little nauseated yeah but spinners what can be if you do too much in the same area they competitive and they yeah the enjoyment that I get out of a ride like this is in large part for me being able to see a Vista beneath you spinners like that are great if there's an easy to go right right and then this one your view is actually of the hub and not so much of Tomorrowland which is why also windows up top yeah there's a really that would've been fantastic yeah I don't remember that at all no that's also why is doubtful about the inside right yeah that's a fair point because the coaster supports block the view of the man what do you sing I know your emotions getting girls around how did you say they sure do we are now in the heart of Tomorrowland where this is yeah the the choke points created by what past the choke point well right but I mean but there used to be more choke points right here also actually position yeah would you prefer this land not have the trucks in it like is the trek as the land improved at all if you just simply take the tracks out becomes a bit more open but and the Cubans are open but you what about the what about the aesthetic that opens dynamic because it also by extension while we're on that topic you would be taking out the centerpiece over there to the the carcass of the old People Mover rocket rods that is in the way there is something what if they took that out and put the pastoral butter back there percent into that and I can't figure out why they haven't done that because you can you can just pick that up and take it over and put it over here I'm assuming part of it's not white you steel with well no we would still be on the ground it would still be on the ground okay yeah cutter percent I'm with you I went that - yeah I know I know it's not as good but they haven't done that yet they have they do you sure do enjoy a pleasant experience in bushes and trees have a sense of age in this tree but that's me enjoying the theme-park landscaping and not because it speaks to tomorrow right no exactly right yeah I love Autopia for those reasons not because I has anything to do with tomorrow land or tomorrow visually is a pleasant experience yeah it's nice it's nice the trees and the so happy water feature that's a tough one I don't know if you can do that fear around them with you I totally get sons are expensive to maintain nasty expensive yeah it's probably get all of that the ATA and OSHA yeah it's got to go just give me a decent sized water feature still in that era what could that possibly be though man it's gonna be a while before we get anywhere on this thing but in the meantime they are not in a big hurry to do it because look at how crowded this place this people still look tomorrow and look at this is I'll topi it down now it's just some I don't understand in why people don't appreciate this more I don't understand it I think I'd recite it the other day is he essentially at goecart hard on the wood okay leads me we have four spinners we might be if I think about guests or others other fans they say so much space dedicated into something that could be more I repressed though I don't appreciate about it somebody actually asked me you know but I unfortunately in the hardware space is so premium eventually that question yeah this yeah I don't whatever they do we know these there right here I know I love this I love stormtroopers walking around the park considering that a lot of the initial the initial Tomorrowland was financed by the Monsanto Company we all right like almond sauce oh you guys are great you're great for the economy you're great for Congress miracles two molecules and chemicals hi yeah we should see that kind of oh we were talking about the Main Street Fire Department and I said okay let's just imagine blue sky you could fit a new attraction in that space okay let's just say somehow behind oh I know I know well into space occupied by the actual fire department right now Ian it's the year it's the year 2120 we're all underwater we're all the Year 2120 and they figured out how to put a beer sitting on a ride in the space of the Main Street fire department would you get rid of the Main Street Fire Department for a VR simulator of course not Oh traction no no I agree for free is your entry into the rest of the experience you can see their centering about Autopia things like using you into the show there is more to theming a theme park building a theme park then attractions per square foot there's a there are things that you can't even see touch here or whatever that you don't even realize are happening to you and it is what makes that whenever people ask you what is it about Disney lent you love there are moments a lot of times are like I can't describe it because it's the merging of theater and engineering basically housing and a story yes yeah and that's what what are you gonna do here that's going to be so much better than this I don't know question we're talking about all of Autopia Sophia then that whole trip away this one goes there but that must be swell if are you asking me my opinion or what I've heard what would you want what I hope you that's what I want we'll put that first a blue sky what tomorrow I want tomorrow and tomorrow you know what I'll take I'll give you the back half I'll give you the worthy yeah the motorboat Cruz area yeah the lagoon that area with separation transition the monorail and topia trucks blend in nicely between you know what I call finishing be back there you know the the small world a part of Fantasyland yeah fascinating conversation Ian let's keep going down this way what's better than this what's better than eight mile an hour gas-powered noisy Yeah right it's a tough sell would say this has this has your inherent value no competitors are building anything like this now so that doesn't doesn't compete it becomes very tough to argue qualitative intrinsic value you're sort of well well that's a hard thing to sell to a suit you know I mean kind of a point yeah suits don't understand those terms they don't understand a qualitative you know quantitative maybe that's not their job right no y-you have to sometimes get your clever about arguing it's hard to just say it looks great I love it so that I mean you want to get rid of this no I'm sorry yes I know you were definitely on my team on this but I'm just like you're my sounding board for this I don't see how anybody could ever want to get rid of this I like the old subs and there's element of the subs that I'm currently and I still like I also get why you wasted I totally yeah like that as long as it's amazing cuts fun please let it be amazing I'll say this one thing I don't like about Autopia well I guess it's my extension a lot of tomorrow late is it I don't like this scheme I don't like the the design scheme or even the 60s it covers the color over from all the features are still that disagree with that with all of my heart but it could be yeah and the reason why I said that's why we're here because they have done such a magnificent job of blending this into three different lands all at once Adventureland on the other side right New Orleans square it fits perfectly right here with Pirates of the Caribbean and obviously you think it's more they say it's very much a southern river south many states frontier yeah the jungle is so South America the Caribbean barely cooked up like it all flash of you pirate speak plenty up against eventually having a trouble works very well lake up this I mean they cut everything right here the way yeah so I don't even know where to begin with nor to square other than you know at the river Bell and then Pirates of Caribbean by extension definitely New Orleans square but yeah they've done so many good things with this whole I mean look right here and burst in that there's a verticality to the land yeah as well as a right yeah no you're right and it feels like it shouldn't in a lot of sense but I think a lot of the has to do with the river it manages to feel a lot brighter and larger this car loses weight wraps around the river so it feels more it feels like the layest subsumes the river even though it's not technically part of it because it blends so well with for that it takes on all the parts is perfection yeah it transition as it flows so naturally I don't think about the package of transition just like you just you walk the frontier into New Orleans into credit country and then don't bring this appeal jarring no here not us not even for a minute that's wrong and like that's how suppose and every element every element that you that you you know take in as you come down here from the river - you know Tom Sawyer's Island the Mark Twain the Columbia it all feels like it belongs here but the way it should you know that that's how it should be and that kind of goes towards our conversation from yesterday about the qualitative values of certain things that you can't necessarily put on a spreadsheet you know you can't say this is how this is gonna you know how it's gonna feel or whatever you had you just kind of build it and see what happens that's true yeah you're right yeah Seth came in what the early that's true this was all flat right here yeah let's buy this came in at around 92 and fantástico food has we got entrance to pirates was rare cat sir I love this by the way and now is this considered a problem for guests guests blow these these little these bisected yeah I feel like like these you know these little these little areas that the bisect the walkways are just gorgeous I just love it so much things also gives the idea of those carefully curated parks Spence parks right yes it doesn't take much to like you just put a few Ellen's here you know some hedgerows a statue some wealthy plants and plant certain posts leave this tree right like I mean it's not business to Southern California right we took that 40 years ago now that tree right there was brought in from where from San Diego or something I don't know seven oil pipe I went through the roots they could they couldn't yeah I don't feel like this belongs here absolutely does that's just yeah the sort of Spanish moss kind of features like that it's fantastic let's go into the land here let's walk down Royal Street balcony's for no good reason they don't need those at all we won't mention the window that doesn't wait which window your window one out there the front windows are shattered properly because we all right right yeah yeah prioritize centering the window inside the quadrants yeah yeah they also closed off the cart of angels and I'll still never forgive them yeah this is this is you have the sound it's you feel like you are in New Orleans right the sense of winding yo small narrow for very into nutrients authentic and that's small wandering alleyways ready hero some of the shop offerings have you're better to protect over the industry but you still get that sense one it's still I mean at least that's they maintain the aesthetic of it you know they they may have changed the the interior product that they're selling it's the dress shop basically in the Baton Rouge narrow but I mean at least it's still still this and you know I was just noticing like the potted plants just they're just so we said hey this is what this goes here [Music] I'm so impressed by that I don't know why I'm just so really her I tried to I know right people take that stuff for granted so much like right somebody made a decision so they said this plant in that pod goes there site for exactly where's my self to have that sense of wonder every name right my boy say wait you need for him and say you know what let's just pretend on the kid I think everything should trigger all the nervous Spears while my pirates just engaged okay and you're the robot of the group - yeah we say that I know I know I'd say people have misunderstand you they really do okay it's very beautiful people I guess the same thing I get the same things I know I do too I that's what I was I'm kind of I'm bringing light on that subject because we kind of make fun of that center section right here you turn around not this one anymore no this used to be lovely there's a story that way story over there there somebody was you know what I gotta film me to look for it hold on okay right there I don't know what that is what he's doing who that is or what that even says can you read that somebody said there's a story behind that thing and there's a story behind up that why right there that's on the wall and that little plaque that wide that's on the wall and that little plaque that's left like you were saying you go everywhere you go in here there's nuances that some genius just said this goes here that's why from a training standpoint the fact that Scott trout ranch is Mitch inspiration I sure hope 30 years the Canada don't want it yeah shopping new facades yeah but it goes back deeper than that the Pavillion goes back further and deeper than you'd expect to and then now you're okay like you know psycho mountain waterfall yeah yeah it's yeah it's uh it's the North West part of Canada is that right yeah it was this by creating training a bigger space basically small area right masters masters at it this is I mean it's the benchmark New Orleans squares but not to mention the fact that they've also got the two greatest attractions you'll never find a busy part life and entertainment into Orleans square bringing this big taiko little mystery and I feel like I feel like donkey instruct right now I love that tree that's that's a perfectly themed tree for New Orleans square I guess it's the it's been here long it genuine has no right if it belongs it look at the same thing print for us right here with the fountain and the trees and the my god I'm just feeling it so much right now it's so perfect and as usual you know I that's why I always tell folks and you do the same okay going on a management but don't forget to observe and take in what you're experiencing while you which is why they build the queues today the way they are so that you can take in more of that while you're you know waiting in line yeah you know they tried going the interactive route but that is that's got the balance of EQ theory and keep things moving it's interesting you know challenge that's why I kind of you know when they talk about galaxy's edge and there's only two attractions I kind of feel like you're selling that short in that sense because it's more than just the the ride but I do think in terms in terms of capacity there should be a very tractable but that the capacity is in my opinion part of that is the long queue that's that's also eating people not just the you know the right both things are happening you're getting show you're getting four shows in a way you know you're getting the pre-show and in the show and then the pre-show and in the show yeah the let's the way I see it anyway I feel like that I still I see pre-show as part of the overall attraction today so I still can show that one well what I guess what the what I'm what I'm pointing at is if you're right and like Tiki Room for example partner yeah yeah I agree hundred percent Hana mansion this whole thing that happens you know with the stretching room and all that is part of the show but in terms of the way it the way it consumes people you're getting you're putting you're making a bigger building so let's say that key let's say how to mansion I'm just gonna put out numbers holds a thousand people all right inside the queue while you're waiting to go in the ride and then there's another I don't know five hundred people in the ride I don't know what the number is that's I can't do the math I can't do the math my head that's totally wildly office but there you could probably fit three thousand people in this in the rise queue you know and and then five hundred in the actual ride so even though it's you feel like you could get more people to do stuff in a in a second attraction the queue itself is such an attraction that it's gonna consume three times as many people I feel like well you know they want to make shopping attraction I'm good with that just funny wording to be yeah I know right you're right not that not that early there was a stranger to trying to incentivize sales no yeah he was doing what their historian Walt going to clothiers and saying turn the temperature down secure more likely to my friends because they're cold that's a wall peg for sure I believe shopping traction well then look at when you go into the shops I mean half the funnest like I said looking around and looking at the theming of the shop this was somewhere else wasn't it I could be wrong but I believe this is unless it was less thing I mean I know Asti mansion door opened several years after New Orleans square rights because the pasaba the facade was built that the ride was not open for Oh for several years I don't worry were but you brought up a you bought up a point that I want to talk about when we got here and that is people are concerned about galaxy's edge yeah opening in phases yeah and there is precedent for it i right here fandom and public awareness of theme parks was wildly different no that's true but still you wouldn't follow closely every single thing on the internet no it opens then I want to be there opening takes I have a social following I want to show it to ya the dynamics of how people went at the park is also very different that's true there's precedent but the situation is also highly comparable no no but but it was also more extreme so hopefully how many years in it was at least two it was it was good they had announced that the attraction a solid two years at least yeah before before they opened it you know so at that at that distance in face of basically they just become two separate openings at that point yeah it's less oh we open it and then the next thing came right behind ya at that point there too okay but but it sure have no other word for doubt no III got you but I think it goes towards you know is it you can be concerned or whatever but the main thing is is the product and that'll that'll trump anything if the product is good on a mansion yeah we'll wait and we'll love it you know we will forget that there was late yeah you know or that it didn't open the same time as everything else I think concern isn't that will affect things long time yes I mean reconverge script just from concern for the Casper percent to deal with well though yeah people catch murders getting out up I guess maybe did research it or just they missed the information so they didn't know or they just don't know yeah I don't know and so they have this expectation oh it's coping on this date I heard about these to ride right well yeah that's the you got a holder landing ever well you think the most impressive thing ever to open I want it and that's gonna happen that will happen there will be a percentage of people certain level of unavoidable missed to that literal hands on hips just like that too but much louder and much more clear and much more entitled to voice but they got it right man they they they they built they built the Haunted Mansion they built New Orleans square they built Pirates Caribbean and they it is as close to perfection yeah as I can imagine it gets a little tight here drink fantastic that's about the only thing I could think of I'm that's a little scary sometimes quits because you got people standing instead of walking yes but other than that I mean plus you have does that railroad station we mentioned how the dynamic the dynamics of the train coming in and out having the additional buildings and facades behind it coming in on the train pass besides into the station yep it's perfection I can't think of a better way I'm so glad that you brought that up with Trowbridge you know I didn't know I didn't know he had said that so that gives me I mean it's too late to like wonder I guess I mean the dice cast but yeah still like okay at least I know these cut he's got his heart in the right place yeah no I know I don't for a second doubt a doubt his attempts yeah or even the creative side of it my concerns are about this have always been from an operational perspective right it's not from the creative chokepoints yeah things like that they'd be very clear that there was a we need creative energy anything has always been the operational side well that and also the the their ability to stick with that thing that they're trying to do yeah those commitments over time like red shirt right the theming to that over multiple years of budget changes right that'll happen but I mean - well I mean that's on the operational side yeah new or that's where survives that kind of thing it becomes more of the hands of team does the enemy markets yeah it changes hands out of imagines direct control yeah I think might have some influence but it becomes more about the day-to-day operation of Tunisia and enough are cops to say what do we want to do what are we willing to invest in this on a yearly basis well before about the sort of layered yeah like right here this the tier business fantastic this verticality to the lab I have things on the same plan you have the tiers to is that better that was one of the things I observed when I saw some a video from ABC was that you can see that they had incorporated a lot of that Trowbridge may be he's learning from the morning square he incorporated there are many levels layer verticality to it yeah know everything I can't possibly but this you say it's not just simple is what this has a character on it or it has bright right whereas the colors of the movie yeah it's about again it's about trading binary that engages you on every bump and and you love this and you don't even know why I you know an engineer might or somebody who's in the you know that Korean of mindset who who does up for a living might know why but as a layman I don't know why I love it I just know that I do know that that's one of the ways you don't see this in any other land there's no / - Kelly like this you know in adventure land or frontier land really there's there you can get places at it for example by going up to the treehouse right but that's but just in the normal landscape traction yeah just for the landscape itself now right I'm not going I'm not getting the small Road logs that store the smaller mouth serves only as a viewing area yeah it helps in that walkway but it's not area not the hole it's not it doesn't have a the difference between that and this is that you can't walk behind like this is all this is all part of the walkway the the small work ball isn't a walkway per se it's it's a game and that's about it really or a place for people to me viewing area because it was created for right match for life matters right yeah great city is served and the long-running entertainment you Swanson okay well anyway this is a fantastic little love fest that we've been able to take part in today oh look it's Captain Jack oh yeah he walked past us we miss it yeah I'm surprised you didn't start speaking pirated worse read you know I think last night her husband seemed since Mike Labor Day last year should do busy making the next pirates movie if they hire it's five or six is it
