[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right hi dad hi son okay so we're going to talk about all the square bodies the addiction my dad has because you guys want to know about them uh there's a picture i put on facebook and on youtube of five there's actually more than that so i figured we'd talk about the five and then as others start showing up we can start talking about those so we're gonna start one truck talk about it and we're gonna move on and do all five and go from there so here we go all right dad start with this one this one 1980 uh c10 uh i believe it's a one owner truck i'm not totally sure that uh store i got was the original owner traded it in to the dealer in north dakota for nissan i don't know if that's true or not um there's one owner low mile truck like 73 000 miles a little 305 v8 automatic has add-on air probably out of all my trucks probably one of the best driving trucks that i have on the old squares the uh great shape a little bit of rust here and there north dakota's a good state for very little rust they usually have really nice interiors because they don't get sunbaked like west coast trucks do but yeah just an overall great running truck run down the interstate 70 mile an hour if you wanted to uh we drove it to the truck show this weekend not one ounce of problems at all and i've used chase and parts and uh like i said just a great just a just a great running 80 chevy truck cool all right moving on down the line we got now we're moving on to three quarter tons right here this is a 79 k20 three-quarter ton four-wheel drive chevy um here as i can tell it's two owner truck uh the original i did find out the original owner was a lady bought it new um from i've taught i've emailed a family member i have not spoken to him yet she bought it for some uh wholesome horses around the ranch out in washington state this truck came from washington state state um i found it originally in oregon on a craigslist ad mentioned it to a friend of mine i tried calling on the next morning couldn't get the guy to call me back the second owner could not get him to call me back uh figured it was gone fast forward to around thanksgiving last year um the friend and i were talking and he said hey you know that blue and white truck you were trying to buy uh he said believe it or not my dad bought it um and through the course of many months of talking trying to get a deal worked out and trying to get each of us to meet halfway he lives in north dakota i obviously in indianapolis it took probably another four months to get the deal worked out and actually physically meet we met minneapolis was about the halfway point um this truck like i said two owner 89 000 mile truck uh probably the best driving four-wheel drive square body that i own uh runs straight as an arrow down the road 70 mile an hour once again we took it to the show this weekend um this is like i said a uh organ truck no very little rust um the beds a little beat up they had something had something welded in it at some point i'm not sure what it is yet but um all original body panels it has had some paint touch up here and there but uh just a very hard truck to find especially it's a cheyenne model which is kind of hard to find um it doesn't have an original back window though does it the original back window it does have an original 80 and older back window but not the original one for the truck my friend supposedly busted it by closing the window i think he busted it trying to open it because he locked the keys in it but that's you know here there or whatever but i tracked down an original one uh but this is probably after the show just seeing all the trucks turn corners probably my best probably my favorite truck to date just because of color combination my favorite color is blue and um just seeing it go down the road and literally trip my trigger more than the other trucks that we have cool moving on down the line with this one dad the green and white one tell me about it what we got going on where did it come from what year is it uh what kind of motor like what what are we working with that is it three quarter ton one ton stick motors so the first truck was a 305 v8 automatic the second truck 350 v8 automatic this truck here the 76 um was a one-owner truck the now uh you guys this is like my dad's addiction like i'll i'll get home some nights at like midnight one o'clock and i'll walk back to my room and he'll be on his laptop and just searching the entire country for square body trucks like this this is his deal it's not racing anymore it's just square body trucks so you got to understand like when when you say like one of the trucks it's probably because he's searched for like two years trying to find a specific truck that he likes then he finds it then he has to have it and you know that it spirals out of control from there pretty much the uh my dad's first plow truck was a 77 three quarter ton four wheel drive so i'm kind of hooked on the 77 to 80 models all told through the years uh actually my very first new vehicle i owned was an 87 half-ton four-wheel drive that i drove off of uh blossom chevrolet's uh lot in uh 87 that was my very first new vehicle i was 21 years old when i bought it um but all told through the years i have probably had 50 to 60 of these trucks um others 50 or 60 probably 10 have been dualies and the rest have been half ten to three-quarter ton to one ton four-wheel drives uh anyway this truck here 76 was a one-owner truck um k20 it's a three-quarter ton four-wheel drive it's a year only color the mint green is called willoway green they only offer that color two years um video with some of white truck is all original 52 000 miles this truck um kind of a weird story uh a funny story on this one um i found this truck in washington state at the same time i bought my red truck which we'll get to that truck here in a minute the come to find out they were 100 miles apart i had already done the deal with the red truck i tried religiously to buy this truck over three or four days i could not get anybody to call me back probably 15 20 phone calls um i couldn't tell you how many emails trying to get them both on the same delivery truck um missed the truck okay fine is what it is that was probably april last year fast forward to um actually i think this past weekend uh because it was like one year i left right after the square body show last year to go get it uh searching late one night like sam said i always do i've done it for 15 years the uh this truck was sitting in rochester new york and also had some of the same pictures of when it was listed in washington state's craigslist called the guy the next morning he had lost his job due to covid never titled it literally only had it in his barn for maybe a month or two i drove up to rochester the next day and bought it before it got away from him just because of the color scheme and what the truck was uh original owner bought it new um owned a campground in washington state and uh it was on his campground the whole life used it to push snow up there also it had a plow on it at one time um but this has got a small block 400 automatic transmission and 52 000 miles uh industry just a rare truck great running truck runs down the road uh flawlessly i've taken it 15 20 times chasing parts just even in the summer uh driven into work several times um it's uh it's got its little quirks but still runs great i wouldn't hesitate driving anywhere but like i said the great the blue and white one is probably the best driving forward drive cool all right tell me about the red one dad what we got working with the red one what year is it and a half camaro is it uh no not no not no no the truck oh the truck they talking about the road no no the red camaro's right here it's for sale 30 grand is what i'm asking original rally sport car hit me up if you got any questions like i said it's racing isn't his thing anymore square body trucks but anyways red truck red truck red truck's a 1980 one ton four wheel drive kind of the holy grail of the square body trucks um everybody wants a standard cab one ton four drive uh interesting story on this truck about a year and a half ago i put an ad on facebook just saying i was looking for a three-quarter ton four-wheel drive a guy messaged me saying he had a one-time four-wheel drive um send me some pictures obviously it didn't look like this uh all my trucks are all original paint original interior trucks i don't like ones that i've been messed with i just want the stock truck um this one here it was uh washington state was like 50 miles from the canadian border and was a land surveyor in washington state bought it new in october of 1979 this truck literally came with a box of paperwork box probably that big probably that thick original paperwork i have on this truck literally everything on this truck since it was built i even have the paperwork from where it came across on railroad from flint michigan to the state of washington um i had the little punch out tabs gm used to put their keys that came with it warning financing trade paperwork anything that was done on the truck came with this truck in a box that big uh it's a 103 000 mile truck stick truck 350. um another just great driving truck it has little quirks obviously for being a land surveyor who's doing a lot of off-roading with the truck um but uh another truck i would not hesitate to drive anywhere um just a very clean looking truck to 100 3000 miles on a one ton and like i said the holy grail about the only thing holier than a one ton standard cab four-wheel drive would be a 91 crew cab four-wheel drive it's the only year they put an overdrive and a square body uh so that's like the holy grail a lot of guys search for that and these trucks this is my number two favorite that's my number one fave i'll get into that in a little bit but that's my number two favorite i'll drive that truck anywhere okay dad forgot to say something he's new he's new to the whole youtube stuff guys don't give him a hard time in the comments section so the red k30 over here turn oh you want oh okay sorry sir sorry the red k30 was purchased from buchanan chevrolet spokane washington the blue k20 was also purchased from buchanan shiv or chevrolet in washington state um that's why i chased this blue and white truck so hard because i both trucks came from buchanan chevrolet which is unheard of when you're collecting trucks it's very very rare to find two trucks from the same dealership uh with the paperwork um there was one uh piece of paperwork in this truck i'm still waiting on all the original paperwork hopefully they find it um paxton wally i need paperwork um the uh this truck here these two trucks were about nine months apart sitting on the dealership from what i can figure out and from what paperwork came with the red truck and the one little bill uh one little invoice in the blue truck so um kind of a piece of trivia boat trucks very rare to find trucks from the same dealership especially that close together uh being sold the garage door is opening but uh okay dad okay so tell me about this truck right here uh this truck short bed blue 77 short bed a little piece of chevrolet square body trivia for you 77s only year for yellow trim and the body side molding yes it's faded sun baked from california but it is yellow looking back of the caviar more prominent if you look back here in the tailgate piece very prominent but on your only color 1977. uh this truck came out of los angeles kind of a goofy story on this truck also dad go go ahead go ahead okay so the truck anyway uh so i called my buddy jamie um told him about the truck he goes and looks at it one thing leads to another i wanted the truck he bought the truck he asked about bringing it here make some money i said that's fine if that's what you think i don't know it's whatever you want to do jamie jamie decided to keep the truck um anyway one thing led to another he had to get rid of the truck so he shipped it to me i fixed a bunch of stuff on the truck um the body panels were not lining up correctly the uh just a lot of strange things um that didn't line up i took it to uh a very good friend of ours and uh one of sam's buddies patrick sparkman he drives trashy for anybody yeah yeah for anybody wondering the man is effing brilliant and um does awesome bodywork keep that in mind the uh so took it him found out the frame the truck had been hit at one point hard in the front um patrick put it on the frame rack and a couple days later the truck is perfect it straight as an arrow down the road everything lines up so that being said the uh i've been kind of just beating around in it here driving occasionally um jamie finally said pull the trigger and let's sell it so it's for sale i am a looking for a little factory hot rod big block 454 truck take 17.5 for it that's probably cheap for this truck because the 77 big 10 and a 454 um the uh but just another truck that uh my girlfriend and i have drove to south bend uh once three hours up three hours back several road trips in town a little further um sam's older brother brandon just drove it an hour both directions the trucks over the weekend and just another great running truck that just runs down the road can be used daily if you had to um it's even got high to hooks guys hide hooks hitch for towing oh yeah yeah yeah you can pull your race car to the track oh i know oh um so yeah and sponsored by young abusive yeah young and boosted go to youngbooth.com get your stickers and uh but yeah just another neat little truck paint fade is awesome on this truck uh i think it was painted once before and that's actually the clear is what you see but being sunbaked in california um the paint fades are just awesome most of the trucks i chase are ones that are all original have never been painted maybe painted once um but i don't like stuff that's uh messed up with and that's why i mess with a modified i hate door speakers people who take these trucks they drill holes in the doors i hate that i also hate dashes that have been drilled into to mount stuff i have turned down hundreds of trucks from open just sending pictures and guys or go look out open the door and it's got a hole in the door like screw it i'm down and see later um same thing with speaker holes or speaker holes and holes in the dash to mount stuff um dash pads i had stuff screwed into like a guy with him i know guys do this with race cars but screw attack into a dash that aren't even made i mean they're made but they're junk uh i just so anyway that's why i look so hard um there's two trucks that sam hasn't shown you that we'll show a later date we have another third one on the way possibly a fourth um see what i mean by addiction guys the uh um and uh so we'll see it's a it's a like i said i've owned 100 close to 100 of these trucks i wouldn't say close up 60 trucks possibly i'd actually have to count but um it's just an addiction that my dad got me started in when i was little so kind of like me with race cars all right well that's really about it thank you for tuning in to this intervention with my dad talking about a square body addiction now can i go look at the other truck yes you can okay that's one of the other trucks he's talking about that's a one-ton truck and in that truck over there uh that was like one of the first vehicles i went with to uh go get with my dad so that's the longest running square body my dad's uh had as well because i won't let him sell it so we'll talk about that one like later but other than that thank you guys for tuning in to this video about square bodies um they just released the civil war lock-ins tonight i got in um yay i don't know how we got some stuff on avery too some very exciting stuff regarding that um and then david did he find the camel closet not yet okay not yet oh so not that exciting oh god i i wasn't supposed to say that not that exciting david's still waiting on his motor from the machine shop he came out of the closet yeah close okay so thank you guys for tuning into this video make sure you go to www.youngboots.com to get a
