[Music] in session of day five here at the West African faith believers convention 2020 we're transmitted live from the covenant please eat gum oh I'm so happy to be with you this evening my name is Sergio key Ellie and I have in the studio with me the senior pastor of God's love in Tabernacle International Church Leakey Legos past or shagging or budget thank you Pastor for being with us thank you very much all right then so we're just gonna take a few questions with a pastor budget he's been with us and I was just asking him before we started that you know how long has he been in the walk back experience he's been you know attending walk back you know sharing this experience because for over three years and I think that's that's a wonderful thing how long have you have you did you attend walk back 20 19 or 20 18 well it doesn't matter we're here at what about 20 20 and I want to get past our badges experience you know around the days so far before we go into the evening session and I'll come back to talk to you about that so pastor budget up you know we're just discussing about it you know your experience from 2017 or 2018 you know if there are any of those things you can remember you can just share with us and compared to if you like you know 2020 well it's been a build-up since I started attending since 2017 it's been a build-up it's got better by the years and we've seen the impact of worth back on the lives of people that I know personally who have shared their own personal testimonies with me and for some I mean as as a person for one I have been blessed personally I have been transformed I have enjoyed grace advanced back the simplicity of the world teaching of God's Word has been lying upon line precept upon precept and it's been good it's been very good and then the caliber of Ministers that pastor Paju has invited over the years they've been ministers who have been well rooted in the Word of God and have a personal experience with God and the nadya onions so it's been from glory to glory praise the Lord indeed I like water pass stop Roger said earlier in the day where he was introducing one of the ministers and he said you know hand-picked by the Holy Ghost mhm this is because there's a lot of preparation that goes into you know the walk back season yeah you want to call it that we start with you know a session of prayer and fasting all into our watch night services and then you know I would get into effects so it's it's it's really intense spiritual preparation for this so I'm glad that you know you've seen that build-up but I want to speak specifically about you know what back 20/20 and you know something particular we started off the opening night with Bishop Francis while you okay and you where that opening night and you know you know as a father you know as a father figure in the body of Christ be sure Wally okay made you know very strong prophetic utterances a lot of them speaking into the if you like the young ministers or they the younger you know arm if you like of the body of Christ and if you connect that with you know the the essence of conferences like this in partition but the question will be you know apart from you know just attending conferences like this how else can a young ministers connect with the older generation that they really look up to but there seems to be you know that ability not to fully connect how can they draw from this well primarily I would say mentorship fair mentorship the older ministers they are we were ahead of the younger ministers evidently and they've learned some things they've picked stones you know on their way and journey into fulfilling God's plan and God's purpose for them so these milestones can be imparted through mentorship and in other words learning from them reading their books and then having a one-on-one relationship with them if not personally but in conferences like Warrick you know having read their books they are not many like one father to a son so is a father to many sons many spiritual children so the only way they can have one on encounter with younger ministers is to learn from them read their books and catch the spirit that they have caught over the years which is the spirit back of what they do the teachings and everything is called impartation so mentorship learn from them read their books be at conferences where they teach God's Word and peradventure you have the opportunity to come in contact with them one on one make the most of it it's good I like it I think you said it almost seven times I tried counting learn from them read their books learn from them read their books we can't you know overemphasize if you like the the role of reading books and you know throughout the walk back up to day five now most of them only ministers coming up have introduced their books to us you know pastor marshmallow came with a set of books Bishop one day okay dr. Cindy dream and all the others have come with books so I encourage you you know if you're out there search online for these books that's online for the ministers that have spoken at work back search for their books you read them they have poured in their life experiences into these books and you know when you can't reach them directly this is probably the next closest way to reach them so pastor I mean I want to ask another question so you said okay learn from them read their books what if you know how do you balance this with you know you know reading the Bible in the sense of you know so these are books we know that is anointed ministers of God but you know we say that the Bible is the final authority so how do we make sure that at all times you know we're balancing you know the experiences with you know the truth that we find in the scriptures all right I believe so strongly according to God's Word that father's like compasses you know to set the bearing of children right so just like learning you know you need a teacher the Bible is the companion of God's revelation given to man from Genesis to Revelation and we have the Holy Spirit teaching us personally and then in anointed teachers and fathers to set us right so that we know the way to go because just reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation without somebody teaching you bringing the different dimensions of the truth to you so that the truth is now denies in doctrine form that can it defy you that you can apply all right you know and that's that's very important without that you know arrow is the result so people err so it is important to listen to fathers and then be rain enough to go back to the Word of God and search the Scriptures to know for yourself that those things are true indeed I agree with that I mean just thinking about you know all the revelation and the deliverance power that Moses had usually still needed a Jethro it is like to set out some management skills and in lot of that give us the scripture now you will now understand what Paul is saying look up please because someone's life is truly changing now and God in 2020 is able to make watch this listen sit down that means there is an explanation for why 2019 was the way it was in my life now I see I understand why my personally helper could not reach me I understand but in the economy of God situations comes are two crises listen it is the reason why the help of your destiny can look at you and sometimes you can say sir I'm trusting God for if I can get one of your your houses just to stand it says no and you carry a house and go to another man of God and say can you give me the honor of having a house in my estate what is the difference nobody is greeting nobody is truly greedy it is what is on you that controls what is around you to meet you at in terms of you know a point of contact a point of your needs remember it says come boldly to this throne of grace come boldly so we are saying write these things down come boldly as the theme of the conference tells us behold I make all things new and in that same revelation 21:5 is said writes these words for they are faithful and true and the one that sat on the throne said it is done so those are the three instructions that I want to give you combo D write these things down what you where you want God to meet you this evening tonight as we go into the session and also believe God you know that it is done believe you know his word that his own Bible says believe his word you know why you be established believe his prophets and you prosper so as the declarations go out as prophetic utterances go out you know claim them to yourself appropriate them you know and believe that this is what God is telling you at this time in your life if you have friends around you please invite them as long as they are not going to distract you or want them you know that you are coming into this space this is church right now never mind that is my laptop or important thing about a meeting is how you go into that particular meeting the preparation that goes before if you understand this the the Bible that Jesus taught about the sower soweth mercy he talked about the different types of soil the soil was the same the seed was the same what determined the outcome were the quality of the ground in which that seed fell in - and that depends the quality depends on the preparation of the particular soil I was watching one documentary about potato farmers they said we'll rather spend a thousand years dealing with the land in order to have one effective planting season what they were trying to say was the emphasis that the police on the quality and what you do to the ground before you plant the seed inna to it so it's the same ministers it is the same Word of God that will be taught but the level of transformation will be determined by the quality of preparation before that particle emitted that's what I'm not talking about many stars yeah because it's same ministers they'll preach to every single person but what determines the outcome is the preparation of your heart so let me give you a few things that you need to do because this is going to be a mountain of encounter where there will be a deposit of grace into the lives of people for total transformation but first thing you've got to do is list out before God write it down the things that you want God to speak to and impart your life on and this particular me so you are coming on purpose stays intention inside your heart you're coming with that intent these are the heart to receive tonight receive him in that particular context there and he's been in the ministry for a new head what you said for several years and for you to have stayed that long in ministry and know why's that now that there is the miraculous but there's also time where you needed to take medicine but they were so strong in their faith and when they meet when they met in Elisha to argue it be taller than you did you realize that you about your son who is in secondary school in 10 years time might just finish University and the ones who probably are already there might just be thinking of getting married 10 years there are people in the service in 10 years time you will advance so much you start your own bank you start your own aviation company not with just one plane but with planes shouts I receive it there are IT guys here one idea would change all of your life it took a lone musk and his friend just one idea the creation of paper to launch them and it sold paper for 1.9 billion of their about 1.9 billion dollars and once they sold from nothing just a white South African guy who goes to live in America and start their paper and once they sold it they didn't spend the money straightaway they invested it in to the creation of electric cars and today all over the world you see cars that are made by these guys Tesla data that's now exploded around the world I like to believe that this wofe back will be a launchpad and to take in territories Kings are about to manifest creation is waiting Nigeria is waiting for the manifestation for the revealing the one manifestation apocalypses is the removal of the cava to expose what is hidden some people they have hidden you for too long you are about to show up you are about to manifest and nothing can hide you pound you must let you go you were bound by religion but you must go free some of us were bound by traditions but God is setting you free philosophies of man I've held you down but you will be free limitations of the past experiences of the past I've held you in bondage but I came with a mandate of your freedom some of us were afraid of failing and so we never make attempts we don't take big steps we don't take great steps but in this decade you will take major steps and you will not fail what your fathers could not achieve in 10 years you will achieve in the next 10 months I said you will achieve in the next 10 months you are coming out of insecurities you are coming out of personal doubts I declare someone is gonna be set free you are coming out now you are coming out you're coming out and you're coming out I love you to say I'm coming out and I'm coming up I'm coming out and I'm coming out in the name of Jesus now put your seat and give God a praise you can have it but you gotta stretch for it too many people settle in easy believe ISM they don't stretch their thinking they don't stretch their mind they don't stretch their spirits and then they become irrelevant and get angry at those who are on the cutting edge and you don't have to be angry because God is blessing me you don't know what I'm doing to keep stretching myself so that I don't rub my stomach and tell myself we have a right when I see more lands to conquer more opportunities to take more places to reach and I pray for somebody here in your chosen field of endeavor whether it's medicine or law or pharmacy or or accounting where as I see or just plain business as you stretch you will enter new dimensions you'll enter new levels you get your places you've never been Nebraska Hillary Rocha that place his anointing is here his grace is here you feel like a holy thunder is taking place in this place everything is anointed the worship is anointed the program is anointed the word is anointed give me church but give me church not just for talent I want to feel his presence and his presence is in this place some churches have good air conditioning but don't have his presence they have nice carpets but they don't have his presence they have projectors they are PowerPoint presentation they don't have its presence they have theology but they don't know knee oh gee and so they don't have his presence tell your neighbor he's here said like you mean it he's here and because he's here your life will change I said your life will change I declare and decree that the presence of the Lord will rub on you he will stay on your life because wherever Jesus shows things happen miracles happen so I pray for someone here and that lay hands on you now from life back you will go home with new testimonies the doors you've been knocking will open up for you I say again the doors you've been knocking will open up for you this is the year you have been waiting for I don't know what this is for but this is a year you've been waiting for you've cried for it you've prayed for it you've waited for it this is your year of manifestation your eyes will see it your hands will handle it and your mouth will testify say Amen three times when Jesus shows up things happen drug addicts are set free alcoholics are set free the demon-possessed are set free no wonder the whole church used to take she used to say take the whole world but give me Jesus and I pray that he will never leave your house you never leave your life and as Jesus shows up in the church there was a man who was there who had a withered hand they watched him closely whether he will heal the man many times you know the biggest problem many people have is religion religion religion I've killed a lot of people five six thousand people died in the hands of Boko Haram in 2019 a low five six thousand people because some religion walked a young man's mind gave him the impression if you kill someone else you get a reward in heaven that would be a total confusion that would be a God who doesn't care it's not the God of the Bible and it's not the God of equity and justice for him to operate that way religion I put many in trouble there are some people who are happy to see you struggle they think oh the Lord is just punishing you no not the God we serve and when it's in the house and he sees her with that hand he wants to set free someone he every with that area of your life he's going to turn around I said it's going to turn around people they look at you live they take pleasure in your loneliness in your hardship they don't care what you go through they walk past you and when your deliverance comes they get angry that's a donkey tied by Bethenny but Fage I went to apostles came to untie the donkey so I'm a now showed up why are you untying the donkey when you it was there tied up what did you do they did not do anything they saw it tied up but Jesus is not going to ask for their opinion it's not going to ask for what they will want you to do he's going to just reach out and set you free he'll come to you when nobody comes through for you he will meet you at the point of your needs he will touch you where no one else can ever taught you I prefer somebody was so hungry for Jesus and hungry for the touch of Jesus while Beck will not be over when you will have an encounter with God in your sleep he will visit you while you are here a directly ARIMA for you and your family specific to your situation shall be spoken into your life this shall be spoken into your life it shall be spoken into your kind of disease or have some kind of accident in other words he was not born that that is use of life which actually means that they came later on to your life when a baby is born psychologists call and this is Africa's season I don't know about you I got born again in the early 70s and in the early 70s there was not no major indigenous African church there were a few traditional Pentecostal African churches and most of them were just the rest to a missionary led churches missionary probably from the UK or someplace came to Africa started a church or started a work on and it grew and it seemed as if everything spiritual in Africa in Nigeria in Ghana had to be originated from outside but in the 80s something supernatural started and a new generation of African leaders were bethe into ministry and they started a huge transformation which we are still seeing many times because of the mistakes they make we fail to see what God is doing and so we comment on their mistakes and we criticize their mistakes but God is doing something phenomenal and I trusted after my session tonight you will begin to situate the the work that God is doing on our continent in the right place my message today is titled do you understand what you are reading do you understand what you are reading why don't you turn to your neighbor and ask them that question do you understand what you are reading as the next person do you understand all right you will find out what this is all about very soon it is very possible to read and not understand it is very possible to look and not see it is Jerusalem and so there was persecution and as a result of the persecution people scattered out of Jerusalem one particular person called Philip who was a deacon of the church went to a city of Samaria and got the whole city converted to Christ including the village witch doctor also got born again and so they sent to Jerusalem to bring the Apostles Peter and John they came to pray for the Saints in Sumeria and they receive the Holy Spirit in the midst of this major revival where God is doing something great in Samaria everybody's excited people have been saying healed demons are being cast out God spoke to Philip and told him to leave their revival and go and meet one person now if God has to move you out from the city and from a place of revival to go and meet one person that person must be important don't you think so alright so that is the background Acts chapter 8 verse 26 to 35 now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza this is desert and so he arose and went and behold a man of Ethiopia a eunuch of great authority and a Kandi's the queen of the Ethiopians who a charge of all her Treasury had come to Jerusalem to worship and was returning and sitting in his chariot he was reading Isaiah the prophet then the spirit said to Philip go near and overtake this chariot so Philip run to him heard him reading the prophet Isaiah and said do you understand what you are reading and he said how can i unless someone guides me he asked Philip to come and sit come up and sit with him the place in the scripture which he read was this he was led as a sheep to the slaughter as a lamb before he shares his silent so he opened not his mouth in his humiliation his justice was taken away and who would declare his generation for his life is taken from the earth so the eunuch answered Philip and said I ask of you of whom does the prophet say this of himself or of some other man then Philip opened his mouth and beginning at this scripture preached Jesus to him Wow what a supernatural encounter Philip leave Samaria which is the city and goes to the desert Phillip leaves the crowd and goes to one man so there is a focus of God's attention from what is happening in Samaria with the crowd in the city to one person in a desert we are not told the name of this man were just told given descriptions about him and we never hear of him again in the Bible but what this encounter was has profound impact on what I'm going to share with you today in the passage although the man's name is not mentioned there are seven descriptive terms used about that man that gives us a composite picture of who he is the first thing the Bible says is that he is a man of Ethiopia he is a man of Ethiopia that means you as a black man the description Ethiopia in the Bible does not refer to the current geopolitical entity called Ethiopia that means when the Bible says if you Opia here it does not necessarily mean the current nation of ethiopia the word ethiopia was used to describe a certain group of people in the greek language if the Opia comes from two words the first one is it feeis Ethier's means dark or bent dark or bent it feels and the second word is piqué piqué means face so it feels big or Ethiopia means dark faced people and I have a sense that there are quite a few of them in this auditorium here today so the man who was that face the man of Ethiopia represents black people does the first description of him he's a black man second he's a eunuch a unit was a president who is unable to reproduce he could not pass on his genes to other people eunuchs were one generation of people they could be powerful but they couldn't reproduce because they were castrated in those days and that normally they would be brought close to the Queen and eunuchs would bathe the Queen because they are power to do any damage has been taken away from them they were trusted around the Queen so they were unable to reproduce so he's a black man he said you know the third thing the Bible says is that he has great authority in other words he has a high position he has a high position he occupied a powerful position with impressive titles and if they're in a group of people who like titles it's us the fourth thing the Bible says is that he is under can days that means he submitted or he submissive he only function in the space of submission the fifth in the Bible says is that he had charge of the Treasury that means he had access to great resources great resources the sixth thing the Bible says is that he is reading he's not an illiterate he is educated and the seventh in the Bible says is that he has come from Jerusalem he's a very religious person so this is a man who took his religion seriously he is educated he is he has access to resources he is submissive he has a significant position he's a unit unproductive and he is a man who can be called a black person he is reading the right portion of Scripture but has no understanding he's returning from Jerusalem where Christ had just died and resurrected and has no clue what has happened in Jerusalem although he is coming from the place if I put all his description together this is how I will describe this man he is uneducated religious black man plays in a powerful position with access to lots of resources yet is unproductive because he lacks understanding an educated religious black man plays in a powerful position with access to a lot of resources yet is unproductive because he lacks understanding in a sense I believe that he represents the current church in Africa and the state of black people this Ethiopian eunuch religious who is more religious than us access to resources yet nothing seems to come out of us but that is changing tonight he's returning from a spiritual place from a spiritual gathering reading a spiritual book but has no spiritual understanding do you understand what you are reading you can be part of history without understanding its significance you can be in a place of profound impact and have no understanding where you are standing after the Second World War the Second World War was fought in 1939 and it ended in 1945 the Second World War was fought on two fronts the Western Front and the Eastern Front the Western Front was Hitler and Nazi Germany trying to conquer and rule over Europe and the Eastern Front was Japan a certain authority over most of South East Asia but the main front that most people are familiar with was the Western where Hitler had built a great army with Germany and started to conquer nation after nation in fact some of the nations he conquered them in 24 hours he conquered Czechoslovakia Poland just ruling over them went through France ransacked everybody and he was just running through the only thing that saved Great Britain was the English Channel but even that he started attacking England in the great plates and rained palms over England and it was at that time the Winston Churchill was elected prime minister and he with a spirit of defiance rallied people to try and stop Germany but they couldn't really stop Germany because none of Europe was ready for what Germany was doing and so they called to their cousins across the pond the Americans Americans were very reluctant but eventually they join England and the rest of Western Europe to build what they call the Allied forces and they stormed Normandy in 1944 and started the process of bringing victory to Europe why am I telling you all this because after the Second World War President Roosevelt who was the president of America at that time and the Prime Minister Winston Churchill who was the Prime Minister of England at that time came together with some of the European leaders and they put together a document the document was called the Atlantic jatta and the purpose of the document was to ensure that what had happened would not happen again it was written for the benefit of Europeans and to protect them from being colonized by Germany because the funny thing about the Second World War was most of the countries that Hitler was colonizing already had colonized countries so France are colonized countries in Africa and Hitler was colonized in France and England had colonized countries in Africa and Hitler was tried to colonize them and and nations which had tried to colonize other countries were being colonized the colonizer is being colonized and and so after the after the wall they said no no this thing ought not to happen so they put together the Atlantic Charter the Atlantic Charter had eight major provisions the number one says no territorial gains were to be sought by the United States or United Kingdom that means after the war they would not share Europe for themselves number two says territory adjustments must be in accord with the wishes of the people in other words you cannot go and take somebody's country without his permission number three says all peoples had a right to self-determination now at the time they put together the Atlantic Charter they didn't have us in mind they were writing something for themselves to make sure that another Hitler would not come and take over their land and so they said all people but when the Americans a European said all people it didn't include Africa because all people was all European people but they just said all people so the Atlantic Charter was published they had no idea that somebody can read that document and understand what he was reading so there was a very small tiny looking Indian lawyer called Mohandas Gandhi later called Mahatma Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi read the Atlantic Charter and he understood what he was reading and he says if you think all peoples have a right to self-determination then we use this same document to demand self-determination for us India free from British colonial rule because one little lawyer understood what he was reading when India got free because they understood there was a Ghanian young student in England who said well candy has understood what he was reading he also understood what he was reading and he and his comrades like a sick way and other people started fighting for freedom for West Africa and in 1957 Ghana got independence as a matter of fact from that time on it seemed as if the Europeans had no power to stop African independence it's just one nation after the other one nation after the other became free why because one man understood what he was reading so the questing I came to ask you today do you understand what you are reading are you in touch with history can be understood what he was reading in chroma understood what he was reading do you understand what you are reading I'm gonna give you two case studies and we're going to use those two case studies in the Bible to undergird this message the first one that our draw your attention to is recorded in the Book of Daniel and I will read from chapter 9 of the Book of Daniel and I read from verse 1 and the chapter 9 of the Book of Daniel from verse 1 says in the first year of Darius the son of Ahaz arose of the lineage of the Metis who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans in the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by the books the number of years specified by the word of the law through Jeremiah the Prophet that he will accomplish 70 years in the desolations of Jerusalem then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications with fasting sackcloth and ashes and I pray to the Lord my God and made confession and said O Lord great and awesome God who keeps his covenant mercy with those who love him and with those who keep his Commandments you know prayer continues Daniel knew by understanding what he was reading and then he prayed it into reality so he wasn't just praying he was praying by understanding it's one thing making prayer noises another thing praying prophetically because you understand the times and the seasons you are in so daniel starts praying and the Bible says that Daniel understood by the books he understood by the books now the Bible we have and by the way the word Bible comes from the Greek biblia which means books before the Bible became one book it was individual independent books so when daniel says i understood by the books he's not talking about chemistry books or biology books or political science books he's talking about the books of the sacred writings of israel what we now call the bible the whole the old testament so daniel says i understood by the books that according to the books we should be in captivity for 70 years that's what the book said now why did he remember that because daniel was taken captive from judea to Nebuchadnezzar's Babylon when he was about 15 years old and at the time he was 15 years old Daniel remember that there was a prophet who used to walk in the streets of Jerusalem warning the nation that they will go into captivity his name was called Jeremiah and Jeremiah would say you're going to go into captivity because of your adultery and and and he wrote that prophecy in a book when Daniel got into captivity years later he remembered because he kept reading these prophecies of the Prophet Jeremiah so daniel says he understood by the books now let's get a little glimpse to some of the things jeremiah was saying Jeremiah up to 25 from verse 11 to 12 this is what your mouth said this whole land shall be a desolation and an astonishment and these nations are shall serve the king of Babylon 70 years how many years how many years then it will come to pass when seventy years are completed I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation the land of the Chaldeans for the iniquity says the Lord and I will make it a perpetual desolation so God says they're going to go into captivity 70 years afterwards I'll punish the people who took them captive and I'll bring them out in jeremiah chapter 30 verse 18 Jeremiah said thus says the Lord behold I will bring back the captivity of Jacob stands I have mercy on his dwelling places the city shall be built upon its own mount and the palace shall remain according to its own plan so Daniel read this and in the first year of King Darius something just clicked in Daniels mind and Daniel says we are close to the 70th year Jeremiah said we have to we're going to be in captivity for 70 years and he started counting the years and he realized that his close to the 70th year because the first year of King Darius is the year 538 BC 538 BC Israel or Judah went into captivity in 605 BC between 605 BC and 538 BC is 67 years 67 years plus 15 years of Daniel he's now in his early 80s so Daniel is an old man in his early 80s about 83 84 years and he's been studying the scriptures and somehow in the 67th year it dawned on him the 70 years is about to happen I have to start praying now get this about prayer prayer doesn't align God to you prayer aligns you with God so when we pray we are not asking God to do something for us we are placing ourselves in the path of what God is doing because God has already doing something prayer only positions you in what God is doing because there is no prayer you can pray they will make God do what he doesn't want to do when we pray we align ourselves with God so daniel says God is about to deliver the people because he says 70 years now my prayer is so that I can align myself as he started praying God said a lot of things into motion at the time because at that time does another prophet called Ezekiel whom God took to the value of the dry bones and started showing him that an Emmy is coming out from captivity Daniel starts praying in 538 BC 67 years after captivity the next year the next year 537 the first batch of captives started going back home by the order of the king so although the prophecy had said there will be in captivity for 70 years their freedom started in the 68th year the prayer of Daniel shortened the captivity by two years because he understood what he was reading he understood what he was reading and so from Fez 68-year they started and it continued for a very long time because some of the people didn't want to go back they like the countries they had been in so they returned in batches some of them went with Ezra some went with Nehemiah and so on so forth and a whole group returned to the promised land although some still remain but they answer to the beginning of the answer started in the 68th year of captivity because the Bible says Daniel understood by the books he understood by the books he understood by the books I want you to keep the story in your mind because we're going to look at a second case study second case study is also about captivity and deliverance from captivity Genesis chapter 15 if you are here in the morning I refer to Genesis chapter 15 when God made a covenant with Abraham about his descendents Genesis chapter 15 from verse 12 to verse number 14 Genesis 15 12 to 14 and we read now when the Sun was going down a deep sleep fell upon Abram and behold great horror and great darkness fell upon him that simply means he fell into a trance verse 13 and he Yahweh God Jehovah said to Abram know certainly yet that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs and will serve them and they will flip them for hundred years and also the nation whom they said I will judge after what they shall come out with great possessions want you to know this whenever God says something it is sure so God doesn't need to qualify what he says for it to have any strength beyond what he says he could have just said this is gonna happen but he says no certainly so he's adding a second layer of assurance my word is sure but I said to you surely it's almost like what the King James normally would say when Jesus spoke verily verily surely surely truly truly one truly is good but he adds another truly his word is good he uttered truly to it and he has a second truly so there are three levels of protection for the word now God said God's word assure he says no that is a second level and no certainly without any shadow of doubt that your descendants are going to be slaves for how many years how many years 400 years and afterward they will come out so God says there's going to be a season of slavery and servitude it is set at four hundred years and then there will be a season of liberation and prosperity it happens after four hundred years so for four hundred years if you three prefer prosperity you wouldn't prosper you prefer freedom you would not be free because you are going 400 years but after the four hundred years if you pray for prosperity without any effort you prosper because it's a season of prosperity and if you pray for liberation and if after 400 days you'll be liberated because God says this is the said time I have given Exodus chapter 12 Exodus chapter 12 this is Exodus now is summarizing God's history with Israel and this is what Exodus chapter 12 says from verse 40 and 41 now the surgeon of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt was 430 years and it came to pass at the end of 430 years on that very same day it came to pass that all the armies of the Lord went out of the land of Egypt it doesn't make sense it doesn't make sense somebody's either not counting right or something is terribly wrong with the scriptures because God says no certainly I Jehovah I've put my surely on this one for hundred years but the same tihomir says it happened that people got out in the four hundred and thirtieth year there is a thirty year extended bondage why why would people be in captivity for supposed to be seventy years somebody starts praying it becomes sixty-eight years and then somebody's supposed to be in captivity 400 years and then now it's four hundred and thirty years so something shifted somewhere ice for many years I struggled with this Scripture and I read every comment tree that was on it I read everything and the best commentators will say well you know there was a counting system and Egyptian counting and Jewish counting and whatever company didn't make sense what is Jewish about this an Egyptian about it goes it's 400 and he's the same one says 430 God knows how to count so something must account for the extra 30 years something must account for it and I searched through the Scriptures and I couldn't find it until I go into the New Testament instead of reading the New Testament and then one day I found the answer in the New Testament from a very unlikely source a man called Stephen Stephen was a deacon in the church and he was a great debater and and one day they just caught him and killed him and Saul was consenting to his death but the last sermon that Stephen was preaching before he was killed and actually when he finished preaching the sermon that Jesus stood up for him in heaven because this guy just nailed it so Stephen is talking about the history of Israel and he comes to a settled point in the history that I would want to reference for you in Acts chapter 7 from verse 23 to verse 28 it's talking about Moses now listen to what Stephen is saying Stephen says now when he he there is Moses was 40 years old it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel and seen one of them suffer wrong he defended and avenged him who was oppressed and struck down the and most of you know that story verse 25 is the key one for he supposed that his brethren would have understood that God would deliver them by his hand but they did not understand and the next day he appeared to two of them as they were fighting and tried to reconcile them say man you are brethren why do you wrong one another but he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away saying who made you a ruler and a judge over us do you want to kill me as you did they gyptian yesterday and you know the story Moses had that and he fled from Egypt and went to the land of Midian for forty years so Moses returns when he's 40 he's 80 years old 40 years after that event and he goes to Pharaoh and says let my people go that says a lot and the whole process of plague start which is about a 90-day period and and then Israel comes out and by the day they are coming out according to the Bible's calculation it is 430 years 30 years outside the time that God said for Abraham but Stephen is saying that the deliverance should not have taken place when Moses was 80 years old because when he was 40 years old God put it in his heart to go and deliver the people at that time Israel has been in bondage for 390 years in the 390 years God starts a process of deliverance but Stephen says the people did not understand and because they did not understand God had to give them another cycle to present the same situation again for deliverance to take place that means that it is possible by understanding to shotting the days of bondage and it is possible by lack of understanding to Lansing the days of bondage so the question we want to ask is do you understand what you're reading it's almost like when you are entering an elevator there's one elevator you're going to the 12th floor or 17th floor you press the button the door opens but it will not open forever and when it opens you get a call and you listen to the call hello how's it oh you're talking and the door closes it goes to the 12th floor you cannot hasten it to come back it has to go to the 12th floor and come back and create another opportunity for another opening before you enter when you miss God it doesn't change immediately for you to get recovery God has to take the elevator up so to speak and and create another system and for Israel it was 40 years they did not understand when you read the book of Exodus it's very interesting that there that most painful difficult times of oppression for Israel was in that 40-year period the period of suffering that God had not provided graceful so that was the most difficult because there was no grace for it it is not on God budget it wasn't on his calendar you missed him and now he has to orchestrate another system to start the process of deliverance and Moses had to go Mary have some children into all kinds of stuff and then God has to appear to him in the burning bush and then send him again and this time they understood what we were reading and they got our but on God's timetable he started the process of deliverance in the 398 year according to his timetable as a matter of fact he would have delivered them earlier than the 400 years but they took 30 years more when you read the book of Exodus is very interesting how the Egyptians describe their is realized they said they Israelites were mightier than them more than them and their fear was that Israel could walk out of bondage anytime they wanted but they couldn't they didn't walk out because they miss the leader that God has appointed for them when you see an Egyptian who is supposed to be your oppressor killing another edition who is your oppressor to set you free something must tell you God is doing something the unusual the unlikely is happening and God is saying something new is happening Daniel shorten the time of captivity Israel prolong their days of captivity because they miss the season of visitation it looked chapter 19 Jesus makes a statement that ties it up for us look Luke chapter 19 from verse 41 to 44 now as he drew near this is Jesus he saw the city twas Jerusalem and wept over it Jesus is weeping over Jerusalem saying if you had known even you especially in this your day the things that make for your peace but now they are hidden from your eyes for days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you surround you close you in on every side and level you and your children within you to the ground and they will not leave in you one stone upon another why because you did not know the time of your visitation and everything jesus said would happen happen in AD 70 when the Romans ransacked Jerusalem pulled the temple down killed people - the heads of babies but jesus said this almost about 40 or so years ahead of time and says part of the reason why I am here is to prevent that from happening it is your visitation the Prince of Peace your peace is about to come but the Bible says he came to his own and his own did not receive him they did not understand the day of visitation may I suggest to you my friends that there are certain sufferings you go through that have not been sanctioned by God it is a product of ignorance and miss understanding of God's purposes for your life God works with us on the basis of times and seasons last year when I was here I talked about where are you going and I talked about the seasons of life God works with us in the seasons of life God does no work with us in the minute-by-minute he works with us in seasons and systems and when you enter a season certain things happen to you when there is a season of visitation and you miss it it takes a long time for recovery you know I'm a pastor pastor a local church oversee several churches hundreds of them and many times you know as a pastor I'm sure pasta pot you you also experience it you know you meet ladies in the church and this ambassador they had no man there no man in the chair the men are not there and then you meet that this is for ladies in their thirties why you not married the men are not dead they are not sure there are men men does brother sun brother sun a man Oliver said they are not their mid-thirties then you meet the young ladies 21 22 and they say pastor the men are worried me they are worrying me they are one has oversupply the other has Cassity now every woman who is saying the men are not there had a season of oversupply but in the season of oversupply they did not know the time of their visitation they thought it will be over supply forever and now the supply dries up and there is nothing not even one little herring does it mean God will not give you a husband he will give you a husband but it it is is a suffering is a suffering that was unprovoked because maybe the guy who proposed to you who wanted to marry you when you were 21 didn't look like much he didn't look like he was purposeful didn't look like he was going anywhere he looked like he doesn't know his left from his right his English is miserable he doesn't know how to eat with cutlery doesn't know how to say all the right things so he said well I wait and then the left door shuts and now you're praying and fasting 21 don't open those is a mother 10th floor I'm still going up I'm gonna come down one day but but but just be patient they will come another opening and this time when the door opens there are seasons of God there are seasons of God if you look at the continent of Africa not even continent of occur almost worldwide any Minister of God today who is on the cutting edge of ministry the the people that people call fathers go and find out when they entered ministry or when they started the ministry and almost all of them without exception started from somewhere around 1978 to 1988 there was an open door and anything could be called I said anything not anybody anything because all you needed to do was say yes Lord and the current carriage you I have friends whom I knew were far more capable than I am more anointed more gifted some of them everybody knew God was calling them but they said oh I will give myself some time and our weight and they passed into the 90s and answered the call and the ministry became a lifelong struggle not because they are not anointed by the current has become a trickle now you have to put in extra effort you have to work hard when the season passes you cannot get some victory but it's going to come through blood and sweat and yet for everybody who ain't started at that time I mean you take somebody like pastor Debbie or who is way older than most of us you take bishop over here the Pope Bishop Mike pastor Matthew myself ask everybody when did you enter and they will all give you about the same time H is not important it's a season it's a season it's a moment whether is you're talking about Bishop Jake's you just name them all over the world everybody will tell you this is the time God spoke to me and everybody who answered that time floated a current and each one will tell you the books they read and what they did any to almost see massive without any orchestration they were all reading the same book attending the same conference listen to the same people pray the same kind of prayers God was coordinating something on a global scale we didn't know who was where and what was doing what is just a door open and people entered there comes a time when he opens another door and I believe there is a door being open right now there is a door being open right now normally it works in sequences of between 30 to 40 years when there is a massive work and then God opens another door and another whole generation arises to do something great for God because when God opens the dog shut the story of Israel when he's speaking to Ezra then he's raised in Haggai and then he's raised in the ruble because there is a season and God is raising all the leaders needed to execute his agenda in 1996 I remember so well I was sitting in front of my television watching the Olympic Games in Atlanta and I'm a sports fan I like especially track and field so I was just watching and admiring all the people running and for some reason at this time I was just watching the 200 meters finals and they said you know normally they will introduce the people you know represent in this country and represent in that country and representing that country and just having fun and they represent the United States black person representing Great Britain black France black I think idea too was there and Jamaica the only non black person was the Japanese guy even him I'm sure she I'm sure she had black blood and all of a sudden I saw the world stage and I sensed as if the Holy Spirit told me it's time for the black man to compete on the world stage it is in that process that a door opens Kofi Annan becomes secretary-general of the United Nations and we had Barack Obama becoming president it's an open door of black empowerment if we miss that door God is gonna wait another season to open another door because that door will not be open forever he works with times and seasons what is hope happen in the spiritual realm in your country you may not fully understand the ministries that are growing look at yours something like this 40 years ago would never happen anyway you probably have to go to America to see this if you wanted to see a great conference you go to Kenneth Hagin Scout meeting I'll go and see Ken Copeland I'll go and see somebody else there was nothing happening in Africa now the whole world the greatest ministries on earth in Africa particularly Nigeria now somebody's gonna ask the question well if it is so wise Nigeria are not changing because God does not just raise Daniel and Ezekiel there has to be say roopa Bell the preachers are not transformational national leaders they are not policymakers God has to raise a new generation of people to enter the dog that has been raised open by the spiritual Giants they are not to solve your corruption problems for you the earth is to open that all and some of you sitting here you have to be in Senate you have to be governess because the door is open for a change for a transformation in Nigeria don't expect your preachers to be know all and be all for all problems and when you have problems in your social sector don't blame them because that's not their job there open the door Daniel did not go back to Judah he never returned he never joined any of the groups but he opened the door without Daniel Tobin only a mile without Daniel there's no Ezra without Daniel there's no hay guy to that Daniel there's no Sarah Bible without Daniel none of that will happen but all he did was pray and open the door but he himself never went there are people that God raises for that purpose just to open the door and don't expect them to be the one running as well they've opened the door you have to run when you see churches building systems that are better run than the government it is a sign and you have to understand what you are reading that a redemption of your nation has started and it started from the church the church is not the problem of Nigeria the church is a solution are there perfect people no they are not do they make blunders yes they may blunders but they've opened the door they have shown how things can be done set up universities universities better run than the government ones look at the way your church runs right behind this building there's another building there you're do you know that building it looks like a military man's cap eyes this way okay is this way yeah yeah today when I was coming I saw that cap on go and look inside it and compare with what you see here with all the oil money or the government wealth they can't maintain that and with the little tithe and offering of Christians look what you are build and tell me who is leader of the nation but what is happening here don't demand from what is happening here what it cannot give is just a door opener God is saying I'm showing you the way out I'm showing Nigeria how to overcome its problems and I'm raising the daniels they are doing mighty things in the realm of the Spirit but there has to be a ruby bells construction people governess who can build on what the Daniels are opening so I came here to ask you do you understand what you are reading don't take for granted sitting in this the fashion industry in the movie industry in the banking industry in education in all kinds of industry it's your time it's your season and don't allow anybody to sit on you because it's your time father I pray for this generation that grace will abound towards them and wisdom will abound towards them I rebuke foolishness and ignorance and faulty thinking and I release the spirit of wisdom upon them may this generation be the greatest generation Africa has ever known Nigeria has ever known raise up Transformers out of this generation now if you are not in any of those ages you can step into it by faith and so I speak to everybody here that God will bring you into this season even if age may not be on your side favor will be on your side grace will be on your side God's power will be on your side and I speak into your life into your future into your prophetic destiny may the Lord lift you up in the season with a sense of understanding and may you turn on the light for the great continent of Africa for its people I speak to the continent of Africa from South Africa to Egypt to Somalia to sinigang West Africa North Africa East Africa Central Africa Southern Africa every nation all the 54 nations of Africa including the islands of Africa we speak an open door the days of our shame are over the days of our reproach are over this is the season of the risin of Africa and of its
