VS | Darth Vader vs Mace Windu

Darth Vader born Anakin Skywalker was a middle-aged human male born 41 years before the Battle of Yavin Darth Vader was a young boy when Jedi Master qui-gon jinn found him on Tatooine as a slave sensing the boys high concentration of force sensitivity jin freed the boy and took him to the jedi temple where he would go on to learn under obi-wan kenobi Vader will go on to progress his skills quickly as a Jedi especially during the Clone Wars many Jedi suspected that he was the chosen one would bring balance to the forest and destroy the Sith however by the Clone Wars in he would join the Sith and have a hand in destroying all known Jedi through order 66 he spearheaded the attack against the Jedi Temple and would be known as one of the greatest Jedi killers of all time he would then become the enforcer of the new Galactic Empire ruling by way of fear tactics the prophecy would not be realized until much later when Vader would go on to murder his master Darth Sidious destroying all states from the galaxy Darth Vader was a powerhouse of his time retooling his physical abilities to refine himself into a deadly machine mace windu was a human male slightly over middle-aged born on Harun Cal 72 years before the Battle of Yavin the natives to Windu's planet had a natural ability in the force he was taken by the Jedi when he was only six months old mostly due to the fact that he was orphaned there is not much information on who may spend his direct apprenticeship under but he did learn from Jedi like Master Yoda and master terrassa when do excel to the Jedi ranks at an early age eventually becoming one of the youngest beings to be appointed to the Jedi Council at age 28 furthermore he would become the master of the order second only to Yoda himself unfortunately when you lived his last days during the waning years of the Jedi Order and eventually it was killed by guard Sidious after Anakin broke his concentration cutting his hand off still mace Windu had an enormous control of the force and was regarded as one of the best swordsmen of the order as with all my vs. videos I'll be comparing these two in their primes for Darth Vader this will be his time during Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi during and prior to a new hope Darth Vader will be described as a shadow of his former self but after this point he would sharpen his skills for mace diminish his suit force him to rely more on skill than raw abilities this meant that instead of utilizing his speed in an ongoing manner he used it in bursts instead of attacking in an onslaught he reserved his for documentation for his reserves unleashing a barrage of attacks in a short instant however his suit was a huge handicap his main control panel was exposed on his chest which he spent much of his time defending in a duel also he could not survive very long without his suit which supported his breathing still Vader was a powerhouse and was nowhere near a pushover a testament many of his opponents would agree to though mace windu was passed his physical prime it did not often slow him down he would often use the force to augment his physical abilities putting more power behind his punches were more stride in his running step his four segments ation would be his greatest asset against his clan brother car bastard landing several punches before a blink of an eye though he still did not manage to take him down in single combat his agility was fantastic as well as evidenced by his showings during the Clone Wars during the battle of Ryloth he was able to traverse a 100-yard bridge managing to save to clone troopers and destroying all remaining droids on the platform and he was fast enough to evade a blaster bolt at close range though this could be more due to his force perception rather than his actual speed mace windu also did not lack in his strength again through his force augmentation he was able to dent and break joyed alloy during the battle of Dantooine he did not do this with his lightsaber but with his bare squishy human hands but we have seen his endurance limits and his solo novel shatter plain during the book's climax after a long fought battle mace Manu was described as being too tired too old too wounded to carry on his fight with his former apprentice Depot Bulava granted at this point in the story mace had been shot through the gut and had a gaping wound on his neck not to mention he was cut across the chest wrist and knee by deepest blade still though Windu was passed his physical prime it did not hamper his astounding use of force augmentation making him a competent opponent in physical combat though mace windu was a master of force augmentation he would not be able to simply drive through darth vader's defense through a punch kick or cleave in regards to their strength Darth Vader gets the edge with his cybernetic suit alone he could crush a man's throat and he could tear off a steel door from its hinges what's more Darth Vader's endurance and constitution outweighed Windows as well when Vader was struck with a lightsaber he kept going when mace windu had his hand sliced off he yelled in pain sus Vader's pain threshold is certainly superior a mace windu victory would have to come by way of his agility and precision in Darth Vader's earlier career we have seen that he had had issues with faster opponents getting his hand sliced off or hit from the back if this were the same Darth Vader mace windu would easily be able to outmaneuver and disarm him literally but this was Darth Vader in his prime who is described as moving faster than thought with this in mind it would not be far-reaching to say Vader would match Windu speed but the question is for how long in his fights we see Vader only using his agility and speed and burst yet we've never observed him using them continually so the edge would have to go to Windu if even slide in terms of his speed and agility so for the ultimate victory we have to ask which is more advantageous is Darth Vader's superior strength and Constitution more favorable than mace windu slight speed and agility advantage it is definitely more favorable to have speed on your side sure Darth Vader could take the punishment but if he cannot fight back then what was the use there was the possibility that Vader could get his hands on Windu but that seems unlikely due to maces speed feats therefore by an extremely small margin I'd have to give the physical edge to Mesa Windu for Garth Vader it was his limitations which led him to gain more skill in the force though his raw ability had dissipated however it is noted that Vader was never fully submerged in the darkside and thus never met his full potential with it additionally the lingering guilt he would have would hamper many of his abilities in shadow of the Empire Vader would constantly criticize himself for not expelling Anakin from his system still Vader had the most force potential of any other living being which gave him a lot to work with but his diminished power would be very disappointing to Sidious and the Emperor attempted to replace Vader on several occasions even without Vader's full potential realized he had an arsenal at his disposal and he knew how to make his arsenal work effectively he was an advanced user of telekinesis as showcased during his duel with Luke Skywalker on Bespin even able to hurl objects at him without breaking his lightsabers sequence this would also enable him to utilize the force throw technique which he would use on Luke again years later Darth Vader was also an advanced user of the force choke technique able to apply the ability to those not even in his direct vicinity this would also extend to his ability to crush his opponent's internal organs without disrupting other vital organs it was easy enough to crush ones organs but it took amazing precision to squeeze a specific organ and leave the FOA live during the Jedi purge he was able to squeeze a Jedi's heart as an interrogation method even though he caused him great pain he did not kill him Darth Vader made use of tuna minutes as well this power allowed its user to absorb high concentrations of energy including blaster bolts lightning and even lightsabers Vader has uses ability in to two minutes several times including against Han Solo i-best bin though it is likely his ability was limited to blaster bolts as his cybernetics would not allow him to repel force lightning telepathy was another ability Vader utilized Able's communicate directly to another's mind his telepathy was so powerful he could penetrate the minds of hardened warriors like Boba Fett and Jedi Knight Luke Scott Walker this would extend to his mastery of beast control as well as depicted in the Jedi purge comic series while he did use the force to augment his physical attributes it would not be to the same effect as he did before his suit he relied more on his suit to augment his abilities rather than the force unlike most a--the fader did not possess the ability to conjure force lightning he had the knowledge of how to use the ability but the power of it would disable his suit and cause more pain to him than his opponent therefore he avoided its use altogether from a very early age mace windu was extremely connected to the force a trade his people were renowned for the most interesting thing about Windu though it's never explicitly stated in any text that he is essentially a Dark Jedi or at the very least a grey Jedi yes the people of his planet were naturally attuned to the force but they were specifically attuned to the dark side of the force yet Windu never fully falls to the dark side for any extended period of time he utilize abilities like forest crush an aggressive ability yet never gave in to the dark side he could even use the dark side as AI conduit amplifying his force augmentation and force senses when properly motivated yet he still never fell to the dark side of his Jedi abilities he was able to perform a powerful force wave during his battles on data weaned and corazon he is showcased blasting back several dozens of battle droids though these showings are not consistent with his abilities and other Star Wars lore for a more accurate depiction of his force abilities I turned to his showings in the 3d Clone Wars series a showcase of his telekinetic Heights would come at the Battle of Ryloth where he was able to push a large tanker off a cliff but most of all Windu was proficient with a rare ability known as shatter point this ability allowed the user to see the weakness in a situation and the future of its action with precision however outside of his fight with darts is where he was extremely amped due to his inner darkness and his personal betrayal his use of shower point was more broad than minut in the novel shatter point in revenge of the sis maze describes his abilities used in broader terms for instance in shower point he describes how sacrificing himself to kill Dooku would in the war without Dooku to maintain the separatist weave the web would rot which shrivel and decay into a mere breath which shredded and scattered strings into the infinite stellar wind Dooku with a shatter point I knew it that is my gift Wendy would do this again with Anakin in the Revenge of the Sith novelization he would see that Anakin was the shatter point to which the whole Clone Wars were lied on so when do was efficient in understanding the connections and outcomes people manipulated through space and time but his showings on a normal level were about broader scenarios rather than specific ones he had fought many during the clone wars including Sora bulk Depot Bulava car vaster asajj ventress General Grievous and mother Talzin yet we have no indication of shatter point being used in his specific dueling scenarios still it was an astounding ability for a Jedi to have even if it was limited to a broader aspect of life this section is a tough one to call both Darth Vader and mace windu are accomplished users of the force they both have similar displays of force crush though Vader's showing displays more precision not to mention Vader has displayed a greater use of force choke in terms of power and distance Vader could also probe the minds of his foes but I do not believe he'd be successful using it on Windu just as I doubt Wendy's use of shower point would be much use against Vader as a window would not have the same amp he did against Sidious in terms of their powers and skill the biggest difference comes in their telekinetic abilities while they were both able to utilize devastating force waves Darth Vader's showing is a bit more consistent than Windu's based on source material in the comic book those prison vader exhibits a stronger use of force wave Vader was also able to lift multiple objects within combat without hand gestures or strain we could assume mace was also capable of this ability but we cannot say for certain especially since mace was geared more towards lightsaber combat and his force abilities though it's only marginal I think Vader's multiple showings of his forest powers matches or outdoes Windu's what's more there is always a prospect of Vader unleashing his rage on the Jedi Master as evidenced by his powerful force screams and repulses thus I give the edge to Darth Vader as a force user Darth Vader would still be feared as an extraordinary doulas killing several dozens of Jedi during the end of the purge initially Vader was a gem so master though almost exclusively it was not until he donned his cybernetic suit that he looked into other lightsaber forms Jim so still suited him well as his lack of mobility did not hinder his strong kinetic strikes in fact in some cases his suit enabled him even stronger strikes than before though he implemented serese 'when Ataru and his previous dueling style as a cyborg he would add Makka xi and Giulio delle taru was known for its acrobatics Vader adapted only its blade work into his style he used Sri soo as a way to protect his suit from lethal strikes he had am Akashi probably because of how well Dooku use it against him Makka she was a pure lightsaber dueling form which had a style akin to that of fencing it was effective when trying to cut around an opponent's defenses rather than power through them and Vader would have a special use for it at the beginning of the Galactic Empire as he would be engaged in many mini lightsaber battles the Julia form would enable him to tap into his newfound rage and unleash a barrage of lightsaber strikes at his opponent like most experienced lightsaber duelists Vader implemented all forms of lightsaber combat becoming one of the most well rounded duelist ever he was a powerhouse in terms of his often and unmoving stone in his defense each of his strikes were aimed for a killing blow even his most standard of attacks were devastating and the few times later had to go on the defense he would lock his elbows close blocking with an economy of motions and movable mace windu had a knowledge of all known lightsaber forms of the time eventually he and Sora bolt creative a pad which to him completed the menacing and untamed giulio form as a prerequisite all practitioners of a pad had to have some proficiency in other forms before tackling it's exhausting moveset for the Jedi Julia was the most dangerous form to practice as it involved getting close to the dark side the form was highly offensive and combative and part of the practitioner had to enjoy the fight the Jedi will go on to ban the form until mace picked it up again and perfected it turning the raw emotion it required into a furious swarm for the light they used their inner darkness to energize their strikes but never letting the darkness overtake them when used properly the form was devastating for an opponent Windu along with Master Sora bulk utilized vay pad by making themselves a conduit of Darkness the moveset was unpredictable and lightning-fast according to the Jedi path source book form seven giulio and vay pad can penetrate the defenses of a cerise who master but there was a trade-off Vey pad was a dedicated offensive form it was devastating in its moveset but it left the user open to counter-attacks anyone on the defensive end of a pad could utilize sabre counters or force abilities to penetrate the one sided offense VAP ad was also unfavorable against multiple opponents as its focus was for single combat furthermore they pad was only successfully employed and burst as its moveset was exhausting for long stretches of time for a Jedi vait pad was dangerous and it skirted much too close to the dark side mace windu actually scolded Quinlan vos for using the form during a sparring session as vas was already too close to the dark side Anakin Skywalker was also deny being taught the form by Sandra League for the same reasons even obi-wan Kenobi was dissuaded by qui-gon jinn to use the form mace windu was debatably the only Jedi to master the form the other two practitioners his former Padawan Deepa Bulava and his colleagues for a bulk fell to the dark side because of their use of the form that being said I do feel there is an argument for Quinlan vos having proficiency with a form as well it was Windu's mastery of a pad which enabled him to go toe-to-toe with Darth Sidious at all of course vay pad was not Wendy's only tool in a lightsaber duel he could also fall back on any other form as well but there is no text that explains which forms they may be judging by his encounters during the Clone Wars I would say had a potent proficiency with sorry sue Chien and Ataru I am under the impression that anyone who survived the Battle of Geonosis was at least highly proficient with Sri sue and/or she in the rapid-fire omnidirectional laser fire would have been too much for a novice or even an intermediate user of those forms not to mention he defended against VAP ad when he faced deep a Bulava on his homeworld though she eventually broke his guard I attribute otário to him as well because he was able to use his entire body as a weapon light saber foot fist all the same this section is possibly the most interesting between the two fighters they were both well-rounded combatants though Darth Vader gets a slight edge for his ability to apply multiple forms seamlessly while mace was largely dedicated to vape add a lightsaber duel for these two would be a spectacular view the experience and knowledge they brought to the table would be something like a chess match they would be changing their strategies from cerise who - Giulio - day pad to Jim so all in a matter of seconds obviously mace windu would utilize vape at against Darth Vader though I do not think he would receive the same amp I did against Darth Sidious instead I think he would fight with the same ability he did against aura bulk Asajj Ventress Depot Bulava and General Grievous as stated before maces speed is slightly above Vader but in short spurts Vader can match the speeds of a faster duelist and inve pads juice can only be used effectively in short bursts therefore I do not think Wendy's use of form 7 would trump Darth Vader alone Darth Vader would certainly use his best form as well his refined form 5 Jim so I believe his use of the form would be highly effective a weakness of a pad was its openness to counter which is exactly what Jim so was geared for yet I do not think that Vader's counters would be fast enough to clip Windu what I am certain of is that Vader superior strength could get through Windu's defenses mace could change his style an invader were to go on the offensive he would lean back on his knowledge of cerise ooh however we have seen that under a competent fighter notably against diva Bulava maces defenses could be broken as a counter mace could apply Ataru but he still would need enough kinetic force to break Vader I do not believe the twirls of ATAR whose Blade II work or the martial skill applied in the form could be enough to deal damage to Vader and like VAP ad Ataru was only used in short discharges it would be extremely difficult to give the edge to either combatant Vader's use of gym so utilize Ataru mikaze and Giulio for its offense and sorry sue for his defense it would be Vader's use of Gem CIL's counter that would break up Mace Windu's VAP add mace would defend against Vader's onslaught as well utilizing surrey sue to muster a defense and to create a secondary offense so there really is no clear edge that can be given to either though perhaps Vader's use of a well-timed counter could be the marginal edge still as a more decisive verdict I would say that both Darth Vader and mace windu were equals in terms of their dueling abilities as stated before this matchup would be like a chess match the battle will rage with strategy in mind Vader was long past his headstrong days as a young Sith and maces experience and calm demeanor would give him a clear head while mace was a productive user of force augmentation Vader Hillen astounding quality for Constitution when du held a proficient use of the force but Vader's skill was devastating and though mace windu was the master of Abe had he was facing the Godfather of gym so let's set up this fight let's say it takes place in Emperor Palpatine s office the two combatants stand at either side of the long hall flanked between the two office spaces I actually think it would be win do not Vader that would attack first wanting to end the fight quickly maze would run towards Vader saber ignited at his side raising his hand Vader sends out a force push towards Windu but when do with stands the blow continuing his stride at the end of the hall maze cross cuts for Vader's control panel but the Sith Lord repels the blow countering instantly with Jim so when do manages to muster a defence of his own but is shocked by the power behind Vader's strike mace knows he needs to get the fight into an open area the wide arches of a pad cannot be managed in a tight halt with a short swipe of his blade mace jumps over Vader's head and into the office space Vader turns on his he'll feed planted firm Windu lets his dark energy power his strength dropping into vape ad he begins his attack his lightsaber a blur of purple with his elbows locked in Vader deflects all the strikes but when do speed increases with each blow maces offensive is too much and Clips Vader's shoulder blade aim the Sith yells out in pain letting dark rage repose from him in a force wave Wendy flies back into a wall not ready for the power Vader expelled with a burst of his own speed Vader leaps toward the Jedi displaying his own use of Giulio when he drops out of a pad using cerise u instead to repel Vader's onslaught on one of Vader stronger but slower attacks when do leaps overhead again but this time Vader catches him in a forest grip throwing him into the adjacent wall Wendy recovers quickly but he starts to feel a pain in his lower back suddenly a statue soars towards his plank flying as fast as a missile may savais is the impact with a flip but just as he touches down on another statue flies to his other flank with a quick crosscut of his blade he slices it in two but there is a chair heading for him with just as much speed when Duell stretches his hand and catches it with his own grip he throws it back at its caster not expecting this Vader's hit full on on his control panel flying back into the wall but he too recovers quickly both combatants leap to one another both employing giulio and VAP add in a flurry of speed but neither can keep up with the taxing movesets for very long mesas speed is succeeding to penetrate Vader though all his strikes seem only superficial to the dark lord Vader is the first to change his style melding his giulio strikes into the more direct use of gym so mace windu strikes are fast the pain his back slows his wide arches Vader finds more ease encountering the attacks bring his lightsaber to bear named Akashi flip suddenly maces hand falls from his wrist and his lightsaber is still held in it he hears a scream and realizes it is his own unexpectedly he feels an invisible grip around his neck holding tight Vader stands below him with an outstretched hand before Windu can manage another thought he feels himself being thrown bodily through the office window falling into forever and thus I deem Darth Vader the Dark Lord of the Sith the victor of course this is all just my opinion please leave your thoughts and comments below do you agree that Vader strains to last long enough to penetrate Windu or do you think Windu was like a big breakthrough because there was like destructible stuff that you can do as of like that just kind of click that like that tree totally just got school oh jeez you
