my name is boxy I'm a full-time twitch streamer uh I mainly stream limited mostly in the evenings I've been streaming magic full-time since October of probably like the summer of 2019 so full time a little over three years uh I'm very very loud I curse a lot I'm very animated and that's just because I feel very comfortable and at peace of just like being myself in front of a webcam sure I'm doing it in front of hundreds of people but like I I don't know I feel very comfortable around those hundreds of people and it's definitely evolved to like be my true Gremlin self I guess and like the utmost aspect of it all um I don't know I just like to be dramatic what's the fun in anything if I'm not being dramatic you know it might actually introverted I would say I'm a little mixture of both I definitely have a social battery like that can only last for so long conventions I love because it really actually is sounds kind of sad to say but is the only social interaction I really get outside of um like what I do for work streaming is very isolating um I wake up I go to my guest bedroom I stream I go back in my you know regular bedroom I go to bed um so naturally introverted um a mixture I would say this is definitely like this fills my cup up as much as I need it to I really do enjoy conventions and the people that go to them honestly like I I don't know I just like to go and I like to hang out with people that like what I like and it was actually a recommendation for my therapist she said if you want to be around people that like what you like you have to put yourself in those situations so I have been more adamant of putting myself in the situations and I think I fit in just because I want to be there and I like the people that like the game that I like so I think magic is an amazing Bridge socially for people it the Gathering was the best part of magic I love Arena don't get me wrong it is great it is useful it was fantastic during the pandemic uh which is obviously still going on but it I missed like the person in front of me I miss like connecting with like there's just something about like joking around with like the person that you're playing with I know it's just fun it's just a fun game then you see the other person having fun and it's just a very good time and so I do think that it is a very good bridge to help people that probably wouldn't normally speak to each other speak to each other kind of have to in a sense so yeah I think it's a great bridge I've been playing since 2014 so I don't know how magic was when it first came out when it came to uh women um in the space but I do know that generally speaking games in general are not a very welcome place to women magic aside uh it has been it's a very cruel place it is it's just a very cruel place for women and I feel like seeing other women play has helped kind of bring out everybody else who has been you know tried to shy away from it and they see other people doing they're like oh like that's you know something I'm interested in they're doing it like I would I would like to take part in that so I hope it continues to grow I hope that more people feel safe and comfortable to play this game um that's all like that's I mean it's primarily male dominated so I hope that all women non-binary um female presenting people are willing and hopefully feel safe enough to come out and play the game that we all love I hope I'm opening doors for other women to get involved with magic I really do that's like that would be a huge huge thing for me yeah I really hope so I think the special thing that that comes with what I do and sharing with people is how much I think just from what I've been told through other people is how much fun I'm having makes them have fun and it in turn makes me have fun that we're just all having fun together I'm honest to God just happy to be here like I'm happy to be doing this like I'm happy to be like doing what I do I'm just I'm very lucky I'm very very fortunate I'm surrounded by the people that I'm surrounded with so I think that they can feel that appreciation and I think that they have the same for me too and it's just a very nice Mutual space because of that this is this is the most fun I've ever had in my 30 years of life I'm playing the most fun game that exists to date surrounded by people that also love this game that I I get to do what I love for work and I think that that's the dream that I'm really fortunate that it has just kind of Fallen that way for me so that's why I do it because I love it magic has filled probably the largest void in me that I had ever felt in my life um 2019 was probably the worst year uh personal life for me um and that is actually when I started doing Twitch full time and playing Magic full time and it's funny because while everything was so South in my real life like magic and like everything online for me was just skyrocketing so it pulled me out of a very bad place and it continues to do that what feels like throughout the last like three years every time something is bad like I am able to play this game that I love and be surrounded by people that love the same thing that I love and it has it has pulled me um out of Darkness many times so yeah I think I've accomplished so much already that anything that comes after this is just a bonus I love continuing to be like a safe space for people to just come and check out and just around and play magic or watch me play Magic and just like banter with them and it's just a very good space to kind of Disconnect which I think that people need myself included and it's a little bit of a disconnect for me too so they help me as much as I help them
