excuse me hi everyone welcome back to my channel I'm Jennifer Glatz sofa but you can call me Jen I am a musical theater performer and a voice teacher and today we are starting my second artist week I'm so excited for those of you that don't know I have already previously done a feature week where I just focus on a group also for that's what it what it has been I've previously focused on home free but as you can see by the title this week will be voice play do you see this little pin here oh she's prepared also did someone say coffee just makes me so happy so if you are unaware the artist week will in fact just be four days because what must Jen not do overwork herself what must you not do overwork yourself look after yourself first and foremost but yes Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday I'll be focusing on voice play and today you can see from the title I'll be reacting to and analyzing their boy bands in five minutes when I tell you I am so excited this has been requested so many times and I'm so happy that the time has come the same thing has applied as last time I have chosen two most requested that I've seen and like in comments and analytics of what is most requested that people want me to react to and then the other two days my Wednesday and Thursday I've left to my lovely patrons thank you so much for getting involved it was um quite obvious what you wanted me to react to so so if you want to be involved next time I suggest you go over and check me out on patreon it is open for all tiers so even if you contribute as little as three pounds I think it is a month so so you know you can be involved I know you know this already by now but if you don't this is a reaction and Analysis video so I will be stopping and talking about what I'm hearing vocally if you do end up finding that annoying that is okay I've left the link to the original video in the description below so you can just go watch that don't forget to hit that subscribe button and the bell button and let's begin our day one of voice play I wonder what um boy bands we're gonna hit you're all I ever wanted [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay let me try again okay instantly you know boy bands we're gonna get a lot of these grabs we're gonna get a lot of these poses Jeff did something and so like that's just wonderful so obviously we have Earl and J Nunn in this as well two voices that I have reacted to in other voice play reactions analysis that I have done but they aren't like the current uh recent uploads that voiceplay do they are in the band they're in this boy band and laying with this cheeky wink okay let's go back I love the ooh Blends um we had a lovely bit of um like a chromatic kind of called habit scope all I ever wanted okay actually let's just stop straight away good old Ellie providing us great choices one and we're opening up to a one Ed rather than wanted I know they wouldn't probably say wanted one how would you say it but one Ted so we are just going for this bright sound straight away you're all I ever wanted you're all I ever needed yeah so tell me what to do now cause [Music] I saw him in Oogie Boogie I think wasn't it that lovely bee lovely uh tenant ah on this open vowel oh it's great [Music] tell me what to do now [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay I this is a film performance I love the Canon right we're getting dance choreography now at dance terminology I meant Earl has such a tiny ah E flat up there dad which is you know he wants to be in a tiny place that he can get the right balance uh mixed balance that He is wanting we are not purely oh baby give me like you know we're not on head voice and we're not reaching up it's incredibly high but it seems so relaxed in his voice but yeah it's so forward placed it's so tiny and I think the larynx is lifted a little bit as well to give a little bit more of a shorter Journey you know shortening that vocal track so we are brightening that sound even more creating it almost cartoon-like it's very characterful all of which I'm here for I feel like we're going to be going back and forth a lot because I want to just watch this choreography Lane turning around I can't [Music] I want you back [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh I love how like it goes okay the backing just goes to um you know the lead not all the time but in this particular little uh clip the lead is very much what we know um this you know the typical tune of the Jackson 5 song right but ah that note didn't happen in the real thing did it like it's just so nice and it just stands out [Applause] Lane [Music] [Applause] [Music] I think you'll understand [Music] [Applause] [Music] all that Bell like okay there's okay I can see as well they've like sectioned everything there was so much to go through there is too much excitement I okay this is going to be kind of similar to the uh what did I do of Home Free um the butts remix right it's just a lot happening I don't want to miss anything I don't want to miss their acting choices as well I loved how uh they were the instruments you know we had the backing uh singers as well he's from Ireland Gina and I think it was oh [Music] [Applause] notice as well on this little riff that uh Ellie's doing and he's not moving anything and he's keeping the tongue in a nice um you know neutral low position hand and he's keeping the tone of the sound of his voice quite bright as he's traveling down you know [Music] [Applause] yeah so fast [Music] please okay here we've got a lovely head voice quality from jainan really really lovely please we know he's kind of favor a little bit more of a um you know it's it's a it's we get a natural kind of head voice sound without kind of doing too much it is an ooze because it's the tongue is kind of high so it's shortening with making the space smaller it's just really really lovely and relaxed in his voice and it's a lovely kind of you know he could have a CD he could have like play s made it a little bit more um Fuller sounding and into the mix but yeah I love the choice [Music] ain't too proud [Music] what's that is that like a Jeff Lane kind of you know I mean bass and drums gotta work together um I love the Rhythm change yeah this is like a low Gravelly um I don't even know where to begin nope this calls for a sip of the voiceplay it's too hot [Music] see the size of his wallet excuse me the cheek of it all um Earl's voice suits uh Frankie Valli like you know uh oh it's only on a d as well it's upper part of his hold on [Music] oh oh how you try you put me down inside it's like his tongue is Right forward as well uh oh the tunnel is so interesting um it's a very small space tongue is forward the larynx is definitely kind of up there as well to create this kind of bright cartoon I mean we need that for this song this great um Frankie Valli song it's so interesting how this is gonna sound so obvious but people sound different did I just say something real stupid that's so fascinating like the difference sorry the difference between like Jayden's voice of It kind of just being a little bit more uh I don't want to say deeper because it's like the same noise but he's not his larynx is a little bit more of a neutral position it's a lot more Fuller sounding and kind of like open and Rich whereas with Earl it's a little bit more lifted a little bit more direct and pointed it's just so interesting [Music] you can see the size of his wallet [Music] hello Beyonce [Music] I just said LOL I don't want to say that I'm so sorry okay you know what's going to come up I'm gonna watch the whole thing again the whole section again we're only a minute 53 this is going to be a long week no complaining we finally heard Jeff's voice which I think is quite you know we we've heard we've had um Ellie then we had no Elsa and then Ellie then Jane on them back to Earl so they've all been kind of like brighter higher set voices um hitting these notes I mean j9 came a little bit lower as well and then suddenly we got these lovely lovely bass notes from Jeff but and then going into a little bit of Beyonce choreography then almost into a lunge split and people falling over I love this harmony moment It's a Wonderful wallet [Music] so we're going to a B flat one he said yeah just really [Music] are they still themselves all doing this [Music] hello dissonance [Music] Sun Sun oh where are we going now one more time [Music] hold on hold on that was too fast no more tree treat I loved that um equal Rhythm on that uh descending line that was really nice [Music] lovely vocal fry we love a vocal fry my word [Music] I'm gonna have to stop it again I love these listen to the like emphasis and the pulls from the the bvs you are my world whatever the notes are but it's not following the same Rhythm as the lead uh which is very much of this kind of feel it's great you are my world [Music] never trust a big butt and a smile but that girl is whoa that was like so spoken like but so like Gravelly nah oh just a big butt in the smile but that girl is it's driving me out of my mind [Music] [Music] stop you got the right stuff [Music] no I don't want them to go so fast into the next one Jeff's a little mover isn't he I mean we saw what did we say way down where he had a little Dancy kind of you can you know I'm loving it [Music] I love those so we're getting glottal on sets here right an inner performance we want to kind of um we want to use all different kind of onsets so it doesn't become predictable or it doesn't become too much on the vocal fold so like if we were always using breathy onset the vocal folds might get irritated and dry out and kind of not just not feel very nice if we're constantly using glottal on sets it might be a bit too harsh for the vocal folds like too much attack right too much of that pressure building up sometimes if we use smooth onsets all the time which kind of uh I mean every voice is different but smooth onsets are where we want everything to come together at the same time the muscle and the breath like the tone and the breath sometimes that might be predictable as well we want to include different flavors like breathiness and glossol so it's nice that we're kind of going into short stabbiness uh here and it's stuck out [Music] foreign [Music] I love how he's doing this [Music] oh that's too fast [Laughter] oh I they loving like Belle effects in this as well like really really so fast it's so like on point um there to create this like brightness that I've mentioned before you know sometimes the larynx might lift a little bit to shorten that vocal tract and brighten the sound we might be spreading our mouth as opposed to keeping it dark and rounded and showing some teeth another thing to help with that brightness and in this case where our lovely Tenors are in the mix is twang which if we're going full 100 twang it's gonna sound really ugly and Loud I'm like wow really annoying um and then you kind of obviously minus the twang ever so the ugly kind of sound ever so slightly but keep that brightness of the Twang and that's what's happening here with these on these R vowels as well which are open to not keep them dark ah like ah da da matter [Music] this is wrong and baby it's killing me it's killing you both of us gotta be strong sorry I won't listen to any vocals because I was like how are they pulling this maybe I should not be fixed this is wrong and baby it's killing me it's killing both of us gotta be strong yeah Jayden's Got A really lovely connected chest voice here sometimes he offers us a little bit of breath and it's not fully clear but it's really like seems so relaxed and spoken like lovely both of us gotta be strong [Music] whoa that was really nice Earl's got such lovely connection up in his in this um [Music] yeah it's it's just the beginning of his first passage he's really blending things beautifully to get the tone that he wants and yeah blending just enough of that speech-like quality to keep it spoken like but then offering so much lightness uh which is his head voice then for getting a beautiful Blended mix [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] these you know like I said the I mean this course is kind of repetitive anyway but the bvs they everyone is on their line they're kind of staying there they're not really hovering too far from where they're staying whoever's on that B4 um it's it's kind of similar to what Earl's voice what I mentioned before it's this the right blend the right connection we have to make sure we're supported up there to continue that feel that sound that connection so it doesn't dip it doesn't like lose its quality Ellie suits a hat and his dance moves they're great [Music] um lovely so now at the end where we had those stops they were a little bit more aspirate as opposed to though that oh oh oh I think it was that wasn't it the glottalon sets [Music] yeah we had a slight little it wasn't we had a little bit of a breath coming in [Music] when is it gonna fade [Music] oh One Direction of course I don't know why I rolled my eyes I definitely was a 1D fan yeah the top Harmony keeps hovering around b c c sharp it's so I think you forget how impressive it is to maintain that level of connection up there that's all I'm going to say here the layers and the harmonies wonderful [Music] I love these ad-libs [Music] [Music] I can't tell who's singing that one [Music] oh [Music] hello [Music] I know I keep pausing I just it's just so fast um wow who popped This Together Jeff I'm not surprised but I just I don't know you know when you find something out just like yes this is incredible like just how many like how many one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen four four teen songs like you know obviously little bits of them all mashed up [Music] I want you Ellie [Music] hello Tarzan [Music] oh and there he is why do I keep doing that God I love Lane leading that at the end this program [Music] and just notice how everyone's like [Music] it's all on that D5 now sheesh okay well that was impossible to keep short so I'm gonna have fun editing that later on Milton Jen it's incredible how many songs they managed to fit in the choreography the transitions the humor like The acting of it all really really lovely and obviously on top of that their vocals are just amazing every single time but I think it was just a lot more of a lot more than just the vocals in this uh it's how they pieced it together how Jeff pieced this all together the choreography choreography by Kristen yeah Jeff did the videos while lighting Ellie like it's so amazing how they um like they're all so talented in so many different areas and it just creates a lovely boy band medley what I've wanted more grabs probably but I think there was a lot going on so it was great well thank you very much for watching my day one of voiceplay this has been day one Monday tomorrow will be day two so don't forget to tune in the same time
