visiting fazbears is a fanat fan game that is currently being developed by the danaroo the game is set to release sometime this year however the developer has released multiple demos for the game which i'm going to talk about today i was originally drawn to this game because of its very unique art style the game has a pixelated low poly design akin to games like crash bandicoot or even the old resident evils and i think that this style just suits the fanaf setting very well the game states during the opening credits that it is inspired by puppet combo which if you guys are not familiar with puppet combo they are a developer who specializes in making indie horror games with those ps1 ps2 style graphics you may actually recognize a few of their games as they have made a ton of projects which often get a wide range of coverage from huge youtubers such as corey kenshin oh my god nightwatch northbury grove and none massacre are some of the more popular games they have made just to name a few this art style just works so good for fnaf in my opinion because the ps1 actually came out around the time five nights at freddy's takes place so it just gives it that retro feel that the series should really have graphics aren't the only thing good about this game though not by a long shot originally i was thinking it would just be a quick tech demo to show how the graphics would look but i was terribly mistaken what i found was actually a very challenging yet addicting gameplay loop that had me playing for a few hours now one demo is clearly a step up from the other i mean it's literally titled visiting fazbear's remastered but i still decide to showcase both of them in this video as i feel they both feature a few notable differences in gameplay and presentation and while one is clearly superior in gameplay i'm not actually sure which one i prefer graphics wise anyways enough with the introduction let's just jump straight into the first of the two demos titled visiting fazbears [Music] [Applause] the game opens up with this sick main menu screen it has this cool neon blue and pink text which reminds me a lot of hotline miami which is actually one of my favorite games of all time on the menu we can also see that the game was planned to have an extra menu at some point which would be cool because you guys are about to see how sick these animatronics look anyways after clicking play we are brought to a brief cutscene that reads charlotte is not nearby she is busy trying to find him it's just me and you just like it's always been it's been years now since they tormented you i can help you avoid them if you collaborate you know what i want we can try it could work it could work we are then taken to this screen which gives us a brief on night one we learned that this fredbear plush serves as a flashlight for us and we are also told that bonnie and chica will be attacking us during night one after this we actually load into the game and here i think is a perfect time to explain the gameplay so being a unity game opposed to a click team one this game actually is in the first person perspective and typically i shy away from first person fnaf games as i don't think it's very fitting for the genre but in this game it actually works so well the whole game takes place in the pizzeria from fnaf 1 you can go wherever you want whenever you want they got the stage area parts and service the closets the office all of it and the developer did such a great job modeling the entire building and since i'm already familiar with the whole layout of the fnaf1 pizzeria it took me no time at all to know exactly where i was going our goal throughout the three nights this demo feature stays the same every single time first we must repair the fredbear animatronic by finding four parts scattered around the building you can't hold more than one part at a time so every time you find a part you need to safely make your way back to the parts and service room to attach it you also can't build the animatronic in the wrong order for example you can't attach the arm before placing the body because that wouldn't make sense so if you find an arm laying on the ground before attaching the body you just can't pick it up which i mentioned because the remaster improves on this so much during all this we are trying to avoid each of the animatronics on the map but i will go into their gimmicks after explaining the rest of the gameplay so after collecting all four of the fredbear parts and building him we get this brief cutscene of him glitching out and then a new area of the pizzeria is unlocked this area being the back rooms where springtrap's legs can be seen on the floor we now have to do it once again to build spring trap only this time there are five parts and they are a lot smaller and harder to see we also have this fredbear plushie which serves as our flashlight we can turn it on and off and while it's almost essential to seeing where the parts are due to the static effect it also has a drawback basically if one of the animatronics catches you while you have this light on it will initiate a chase sequence where their eyes will light up and they will run after you and this is the part of the night that gets super stressful as you will by now be around five to six minutes into your run and one mistake could set you back a long ways and by the way i'm explaining this it might sound easy but trust me it's actually very difficult on night 1 we are tasked with only going against bonnie and chica and chica's gimmick is that after spotting you she will be able to sense your location for a while even after the light has turned off bonnie's gimmick is that he can't sense you as long as chica after you turned your light off but he does run a lot faster than chica does and you might be thinking well just don't turn your flashlight on the whole game and it should all be fine well not necessarily as even when they have not spotted you these two are always running around the pizzeria and there would be so many sections where i would go into the office area looking for a part and bonnie would come down one hallway while chica came down the other basically completely screwing me over you need to be very cautious around these two but i never felt that it was unfair and the ai feels almost perfectly balanced it's not too hard but it's also extremely challenging every time you play and there were a few close calls where i had to harness my cod zombies training skills just to avoid getting jump scared on night 2 we are introduced to the third animatronic we'll be going against which is of course freddy himself freddy's gimmick is that while he does not roam around the pizzeria like bonnie and chica he now introduces an exposure meter this meter is basically a timer that will slowly tick up as we play and once it reaches 50 we die the way we keep this timer below 50 is every time we have our flashlight on our exposure ticks down this is super cool as it forces us to hide every once in a while to recharge our exposure which adds this whole new aspect to the game where you will need to plan out your whole route before leaving a safe room because you know you only have a limited time before you need to return and recharge it again basically just adding more stress to the already chaotic hunt for these animatronic parts finally for knight 3 which introduces us to the puppet the puppet's mechanic works basically just how you would expect it to the music box starts at 100 and slowly ticks down during the night to stop the music box from reaching zero we need to walk up to the music box which is to the right of the east hallway and hold it for a few seconds to wind it up and while i like the fact that the puppet is here since the puppet was retconned into existing during the fnaf 1 time his mechanic is definitely the weakest of them all i found that winding the music box was just far too easy and you're given so much time that it really isn't too much to worry about during the night and just serves as more of an annoyance than anything it's such a shame that the other knights aren't available because we can actually see foxy in pirate's cove and i can only imagine what kind of terrifying mechanic he would have been given if the game was completed overall super cool overall gameplay and very unique from anything i've ever seen from a fnaf fan game the mechanics feel great and challenging but not unfair now before i talk about the remastered demo i quickly want to comment on the graphics first off i absolutely love how these animatronic designs transfer to the low poly look they look absolutely horrifying when they are roaming around the pizzeria in this game we play as the crowning child so we are rather short and the way the animatronics absolutely tower over you is terrifying i also love the way their eyes are completely blacked out it makes them look like they are truly haunted and seeing their eyes light up accompanied by their stage music when they are chasing you is just such a neat concept to me the pizzeria is also modeled perfectly and everything just looks so great they even have a few youtuber pictures scattered around for references like here's fusion z gamer next to pirate cove and oh look they even featured me in here one final thing i want to comment on about the graphics is this vhs effect that goes over your screen during the entire game now some might find it annoying but i actually think this is a great addition that the remaster is severely lacking the way the pixelated animatronics blend in when the static is getting more noticeable on the screen leads to you consistently second guessing your eyes every time you think you see an animatronic close to you this problem is also alleviated as soon as you use your flashlight which is just such a good trade-off you can see the animatronic more clearly now and won't have to trust your gut but now you're risking getting caught by a lurking animatronic speaking of getting caught by the animatronics the jump scares are also really well done and actually caught me off guard a few times while playing overall these graphics are some of the most unique and just visually appealing graphics i've seen come out of a fnaf fan game so huge props to the developer there okay so now for the visiting fazbear's remastered demo which actually released not too long after the original and shows major improvements over the first now this demo only features one night but it still has a lot of features that are worth talking about right away when launching the game we can see a few noticeable changes such as the animatronics now sporting a more original design a new logo and the inclusion of a plushie section which in the final game will serve as rewards when you play the developer has also showcased a few of the plushies already on the gamejolt page and they are really sick so far they have doco fusion z gamer and markiplier anyways after pressing play which is now labeled chapters we see our first major improvement instead of the game just having a night select screen each chapter now features its own really cool screenshot so far only chapter 1 is available like i said but the artwork is just so cool for it we can see that again we are going to be playing as the crying child and this time we'll be going against freddy bonnie and chica the withered animatronics have also been shown to be featured in chapter 2 which makes me speculate that every single chapter will feature a new location with new animatronics to go against after pressing play we actually get a brief cutscene panning around the pizzeria before taking us to a dialogue section between the crying child and the fredbear plush and i just cannot praise this part enough the way the camera pans around with every dialog box you see is so cool and the whole visual presentation of it is just so good as soon as we are able to walk around there are a ton of improvements made to the engine right off the bat we are now able to look up and down which was not present in the previous demo where we were only able to look side to side we can also see our body now which is a really cool feature that the dev did not need to include but just adds that extra bit of immersion it also affects the gameplay a little as now we actually physically need to look down to see our fredbear plush we also get a crouch button for when we need to hide from an animatronic and the static effect used on the screen is a lot different now and makes it easier to see it is now far less distracting during gameplay which i think many people would prefer over the original but is actually something i don't like as much compared to the first game everything feels a little bit too easy to see now but that's just my preference overall visually this game is an upgrade in every aspect the goal in this knight stays the same roam around the pizzeria and collect animatronic parts to rebuild an animatronic however this time we only need to rebuild one animatronic that being fred bear the mechanics of hiding from bonnie chica and freddy are also the exact same with the only difference being that the exposure meter has now been replaced with the sound of your heart beating this is such a great change as not only does it make the game way more stressful when you are constantly hearing your character's heart beating but it also eliminates any need for the game to have a hud allowing the overall experience to be more immersive by far the best thing they added to this remaster though is the inventory system now instead of being able to only carry one thing at a time you can now carry four this paired with the inclusion of a new feature where you must hunt around the pizzeria opening cabinets to find keys in order to unlock a box makes the gameplay loop so much better one of the coolest byproducts of this inventory system is this so remember in the previous demo where if you found let's say an arm before you found the torso you just couldn't pick it up well now in this game that is not an issue you are now able to grab that arm even if the torso isn't attached yet and drop it off right in front of the animatronic for later use this whole inventory management system while pretty simple right now could grow into something truly amazing i can only imagine once the game is finished and we have to juggle between more than just parts and keys it's going to get really chaotic and stressful other stuff such as sound design and jump scares have also improved a ton over the original demo unfortunately due to it being so short i don't really have much else to comment on but i do want to say this seeing the huge improvement made just a few months between the first demo and the remaster gives me a lot of faith in this developer this guy obviously knows what makes a good horror game and i have full confidence that with enough time this game will grow into something truly amazing if you guys like this video please consider subscribing i'm on my way to 50 000 subscribers and more importantly if you guys liked what you saw please go support the game on gamejolt i'll have the game linked down below in the description anyways thank you guys so much for sticking around to the end and i will see you in the next video peace [Music]
