Victoria Diggers Find The BIGGEST Nugget Ever | Aussie Gold Hunters: Countdown to the Motherload

in the Southeastern corner of Australia lies the remains of one of the greatest gold rushers in history The Golden Triangle region of the state of Victoria this 1.9 kilometer stretch of historic mine shafts known as German Gully was once part of the epicenter of the great Gold Rush 160 years later it's the property of the Victoria diggers [Music] so you now own this piece of land it has been a dream of mine it's all I ever heard about for 20 plus years because of the history that it's had if you were going to mine anywhere in Victoria this would be the place 52 year old detectorist Neville Perry and partner specialist machine operator Mick Clark are on the hunt for the huge nuggets this area is famous for we're pretty excited given the history of where we are it's only a matter of time before that big nugget comes along [Music] with just one week left in season four the duo still needed nearly 15 ounces to reach Target but had just 50 meters of licensed ground to dig we haven't got much ground left and we need to get that Target we need to hit that goal oh hello what have we got here [Music] this is this is huge mate you got to come in holy sounds like it's down a bit I want to hear it this could be the best nugget we've found yet honestly and and it's in natural I just got to get behind mate I do not want to Club it [Music] tight come on this could be the biggest bit of gold that we've found here Mick where is it it's still there keep going as you said you got to get behind it yes geez it's tight it's it's mate they haven't dug that This Could Be the One don't bang it easy does it come on out you come I think I felt it really on the end of the pick seriously yeah so yeah you do the honors mate where is it come on it sounds good it's over the moment you'll feel it stop teasing me can't be that where is it come on it's here [Music] there it is [Music] that right oh I have a look at it mate that is an absolute slug that's got to be half kilo match that is just beautiful the 20-ounce nugget is worth at least forty thousand dollars to wealthy collectors who prize attractive nuggets in their original form Charlie Scully is a much much bigger lead coming down out of the hills than uh than what Penzance was so and it's got the history it has got the history to say that there was some good gold come down through there hopefully we might be able to get something like this region and area is known for you know big nuggets anything in the multiple ounces would be uh good to see right now yeah that's a good noise oh he's got a noise he's got a Target there's an old thing is all there yeah and there was one right here yeah that could be a bit of crap in the great Victorian gold rush over 160 years ago thousands of shafts were sunk sometimes a meter apart the old miners could have been within millimeters of a monster nugget but without modern detectives they'd never know I'm just hoping it's not a bit of rubbish from the old miners or a pick head because the old halls there we're probably not overly confident it's been tricked before with you know bits of pieces of like handles of buckets that bottom looks pretty firm if it's nugget I just don't want to hit it so I'm thinking it's still there do you want me to have a crack have a go mate you can just see that's coming off in layers what that means for us is the old miners haven't been in there so we're now getting pretty excited that's virgin ground so it's gonna be gold whatever it is if that's still in there foreign that's starting to make sense there she's hard Grandma aren't you Club it he's starting to move a little bit of dirt a bit quicker he's got a bit of a bit of urgency in his pace it's far out well the anticipation oh mate I've just seen it it's gone look at that mate look holy look at that you can just see the top of it you can just see the top of it what is the 10 right here just get it out just pull it out absolutely it's gold she's moving all right guys he might be that big okay I'm lying oh look at that that is Jesus that is what we're here for buddy that's Charlie's Gully have a look at that that is bloody Jesus Christ that is huge that's absolutely unbelievable that's got to be three kilo that is unbelievable just oh oh look at that get over it have a look at it 200 000 nugget that's just totally unbelievable just can't get over it the old timer that dug this hole coming down here he missed it by two feet I feel privileged to dig this up that is just incredible we're making history that is the biggest piece we're making history cannot beat this feeling it's the largest nugget find ever caught on film just under two and a half kilo the 78 ounce nugget dubbed Charlie's Pride is worth much more sold intact as a collector's piece that is incredible if you melted that into a bar it's worth a hundred and thirty thousand dollars yeah that's right but you're never gonna do that no because it's got the three key things that collectors look for it's got the Purity look at the color of it yeah it's got the character and look at the size of it yeah I am still very confident it's a two hundred thousand dollar nugget I agree absolutely if we can dig those up whilst we're getting down towards the main lead where all the big gold was what's here what is here the million dollar nugget here we come that is beautiful [Music]
