[Music] what's going on YouTube Akon mighty here with a brand new episode of restorations with Vic what I have on my table today all these alternate 89 auditorium fours that needs to works this videos gonna be a little bit different it's gonna be a two-part in that the restoration video meaning we're gonna break down each step and be as detailed as possible this student needs a lot of work we're gonna give it a good property clean remove the yelling off the souls repaint the upwards repaint the metals removes any scratches or scuffs on the leather repaint the wings then peel tab remove the creasing in any other work needed on the shoe we have a lot of work ahead of us guys so let's get started first step we're gonna put the shoe to the side since we're only gonna be working on to right kuipers before naps at purposes next you're gonna want to lose a few later than install this step is very important if you want to give the shoe a pop a deep clean because you got to get deep inside the tongues and the insides of the shoe as you can see these angels are super dirty guys don't forget the inside of the shoe because the insides are just important as the outside one more thing I want to point out is a shoelace the shoelace in a couple areas are starting to fall apart so I'm not gonna bother cleaning them up just go ahead and chuck them and you're patient with a brand new shoelace now we're gonna go ahead and insert our adjustable rejuvenative shoe trees this step is very important guys because it held it two things the first it helps remove the creasing of the toe box and it helps reshape it into a nice shape once it's clean employees dried and clean the second it helps us apply pressure on the toe box using the brush during the cleaning process so the way you insert a shoe tree into the shoe is by first adjusting it to size that'll fit properly inside the shoe let's go with this size then you're gonna want to enter the shoe tree inside the shoe and lock it in place easy does it so all preps ready to go now let's go ahead and score a couple of our squirts of our rejuvenator as an estate or solution all you need is a couple of squirts - this stuff is highly concentrated [Laughter] [Music] bullseye all right before we start paying the shoe up using solution we got to do one more thing using the medium bristle brush we're gonna dry brush this entire shoe the reason why we're gonna do that is so we can remove any unnecessary dirt on the shoe and it'll help prevent a big ol mess during the cleaning process [Music] that looks a lot better that'll make the cleaning much easier now let's get started cleaning the first brush we're gonna be using is our stop bristle brush I like to use this brush for all my teams first because it breaks down the dirt the fastest and it creates the most suds [Music] as you can see guys the shoe starting to clean up nicely we're never using any brush brushing and circular motion for best results we're gonna let this sit on the upper still a little wild guys so I can continue breaking down the dirt while we still have to stop it so brush we're gonna move on to the inside of the shoe like I mentioned earlier the inside of the shoe is super important a lot of germs odors sweat all kinds of nicest stuff gets built up inside so make sure you spend a lot of time on the inside we're gonna take out the shoe tree so we get deep inside [Music] before I forget guys as you can see the patch on this shoe is super dirty while we had the soft bristle brush we're gonna give it a good cleaning you don't want to use any other brush but the stop bristle brush on this area because it will fray the material although the stopper to brush you guys the insides are nice and taken care of now let's kick it up a notch and move on to our medium bristle brush we'll use this brush to take care of any stains on the white leather we're also setting up the plastics and the metals of this shoe [Music] [Music] all right when everything and everyone at four or anything has wings straps or a heel tap make sure you're getting under that stuff a lot of grime dirt builds up in those areas as you can see right here boom just grime built up for months years I don't know make sure you take care of that guys [Music] although with the medium bristle brush you guys the uppers on this you look great anything I might have missed the washing machine will take care of for me now the finish off is getting strong by moving on to our last brush which is our stiff bristle we'll use this brush to get these Souls looking as you can see guys I'm applying a lot of pressure to these Souls using this brush it's totally safe to do that's how you get the best results but don't use this brush on anything else but rubber soles because it will damage leather suede it pretty much anything else that isn't Robert [Music] good to go with the pretreatment the shoe guys looks great it's the last thing I'm gonna do is put the shoe inside our sneaker line your bag put them in the washing machine [Music] [Music] make sure you guys are locking this up so the shoe doesn't come out the laundry bag put them in the wash it's time to rejuvenate sled in the washing machine let's go ahead and put the shoe inside the washer grab our handy-dandy we're shooting me in a sink of mine detergent squeeze and pour one full ounce let's close this bad boy up turn it on as always you guys you're gonna want to use cold water with a regular cycle we are back to YouTube we got the shoe fully cleaned up and drive as you can see the clean turn out great on this shoe the leathers back to white the inside turned out great they smell good the whole shoes disinfected this seems too good to go thanks to our three brush at vascular system now let's go ahead and move on to remove the yellowing you can see a solution well it's quite simple up here five minus two and that's how I figured it out let's get started with yellow ink [Music] to the Sun all done removing the yellowing off the soles looks good back to white before we move on to the second part of the salt I do want to mention the wings and the heel tap they are super yellow Salon care for tea won't work on this material I've tried it before assembly does not work so the only thing we can do is paint it and we'll do that later in this video let's go ahead on a PI Slovakia for the second part and then move on to the third part which is the bottom of the sole [Music] all the removing and yellowing of the soles you guys took about three hours of total one hour for each side including the soles looks good the yellow is completely out sores are back to white we're ready to keep it moving the next I'm going to do is a lot of prep work on the uppers for the uppers there's a lot of scratches all around really deep scratches before we can pin it we got to smooth those areas down these are some sandpaper will be using 1500 grit sandpaper and 603 whenever you guys are doing this step always start off with the lowest grit sandpaper in this case the scratch is pretty deep so I'm starting off with the 600 grit once I think it's smooth enough I'm gonna work my way up to the 1500 grit to finish off smoothing any details I might have missed [Music] all done using the 600 grit sandpaper on this area you can only see much of a difference the only real way to know it's time to move on it's definitely by feeling it now let's go ahead and we watch with a 1500 grit sandpaper all done prepping the toe box since I am repaying the majority of the white leather I got to continue using this method on the rest of this shoe [Music] so for this step guys all you really want to do is just lightly go over the men souls and not really trying to remove the paint all you're really trying to do is remove the finish on this midsole all done with the prep work on these men Souls they're ready for a paint job but before we could do that we got to finish off using the staff paper method on the plastic areas of the shoe for the wings in the heel tab you simply just can't paint those areas without proper prep work because the paint will scratch right off please the areas like to use 600 sandpaper and works just fine [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all done using the stamp paper on the shoe that was a lot of sanding but trust me the sandpaper method is a key factor to getting a quality restoration every time we don't want to skip this step now moving on we got to finish the prep work on this white leather and using some acetone and cotton balls so what I'm doing right now is wiping off the finish off the white leather since the whole shoe needs could be repainted the finish needs to come off in order for the paint stick to the leather all don't prepping the white leather now that we want to the final part of the prep work on the shoe which is the wings and the heel tab we're gonna tape around those areas so we can spray it with some Bulldog adhesion promoter [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all taped up let's go outside a couple of these you need to know before you spray the shoe is one the reason why our outsides because it stuff stinks really bad and - anytime you're paying plastic you gotta spray this stuff because it helps a paint adhere better to material and you should be wearing a mask I don't have a mask right now completely forgot where I masks gonna hold my breath alright spray let's go back inside now that we have the adhesion promoter fully dried that's gonna wrap up part one of this restoration let's go in and break down exactly what I did the first step I did we'll use our three brush that mastic alarm system and our detergent to get the shoe fully cleaned up ready to go once the cleaning process is all done you guys we did a lot of prep work on the shoe we'll start with the uppers on the white leather we use the sandpaper method it gets those scratches as smooth as possible then for the midsole we prep them as well to get it ready for a brand new paint job for the plastic same thing we sanded it down and apply the heat promoter there was a lot of preparation I went into the shoe you guys
