adventist church a special welcome to those joining us on broadcast from far and here we are so grateful we could worship together even as we are separated by distance thank you for choosing to worship with us many of you have been worshipping with us from week to week you are indeed family and we are so thankful that you choose to worship with us in the bible god gives us a solution written within the ten commandments it's a commandment that gives us time for a welcome refreshing rest from our weekly labors a time during which we must no longer be absorbed in our ordinary daily cares and sabbath because of this kovid we don't have any many people here but there are many members watching this live broadcast around here at home and around the world and i would like to thank you for joining as we spend little time meditating on god's word may god speak to each one of us not me let the whole holy spirit speak to each one of us let's open our hearts and listen to what god has for us as we meditate and spend their time during this devotion we all have watched the olympics you know the the the item that that interested me always has been is 100 meters to randa that military that dash people train themselves maybe some days or weeks or months or some years too watching how fast they run and then when the time comes they're all there in the arena maybe 10 of them in the finals waiting just to take off meet the goal and their eyes are fixed on the goal reaching the in the shortest time and they're not worried about what's happening around they don't care what other people would be saying about them their eyes are fixed that they would reach the point they are thinking they would reach and uh i remember about 60 plus years ago 60 years ago i used to run 100 meters 200 meters and used to get first price those days what i'm saying is our eyes must be fixed on the world not just wandering about our thinking what we might do what we can do no we have a goal in our life as christians our eyes must be fixed on jesus is not just focused you can focus but our eyes must be fixed on jesus the title for this evening is fix your eyes on jesus you know when when we go through the bible we think of many heroes in the bible i think of abraham abraham was called out from idol worship god called him abraham i want you to leave your family leave your house leave your country and follow me what did abraham do he followed god's call not knowing where he was going you know all those years in his life he lived in tents from one place to other place with his servants cattle his family of course but god has said this is the land i'm going to give but not now he was traveling journeying in the land of canaan god said the iniquity has not come to a full so this is not the time i'm going to bring you back after 430 years if you calculate in your bible it is that 430 years from abraham until they left egypt i think of jesus of course he's the greatest example we have jesus the lamb of god that was slain from the before the foundation of the world that means before we were created before the creation god became man so that he can relate to us one on one he was tempted on all points he is tempted on all points we know those three uh temptations after his baptism but he was tempted on all points all through his life from the time he was born until he died he was tempted don't you think so why was he tempted did he fall into sin he was tempted on all points we think oh it is too hard for me i cannot come out of the temptation no no no if that is so we deny christ himself jesus himself who was tempted and overcame he set an example to each one of us sometimes we say oh i cannot stop doing this but jesus was tempted on all points and if we do not believe and follow jesus and overcome temptations we deny jesus himself isn't that true jesus becoming man and dwelt among us honey was tempted and he overcame and won the victory for you and me victory over sin and the second death the wages of sin not the result of sin there is a structure in the bible what man is he that liveth and shall not see death shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave all if jesus delays his coming will die except the 144 thousand and the all the wicked ones who did not accept before the probation closed i have a few texts i know when we study the bible so many times we remember you know it's very important for us to memorize these promises because soon and very soon we will not have the bible it should be written in our hearts isn't that true it must be written in the house we are god's people people of the book people of promise god has purchased us with his own blood psalm 34 in the middle i think it's 12 or 13 somewhere it says what man is he the desired life that he may see good depart from evil and do good you know the person whose eyes are fixed on jesus gladly depart from evil i'm sorry if you don't agree go to the bible these are not my words let's go to the bible let the bible answer us because we all are sinners nobody is perfect nobody we all are sinful beings but god is purchased with his own blood brought us out of darkness into marvelous light and there is another text psalm 4 verse 4 it says stand in awe and sin not commune with your own heart upon your bed be still it says my friends when we go to bed when we sleep what goes in our mind i'm talking to you as family members no playing games okay let us examine ourselves where i stand in these last days and then the psalm 19 was in the middle it says take away keep me from sin from christmas sins and let them not have any dominion over me how can that happen if we let ourselves to be ruled by the devil sin will overrule us if sin is with me in me in you then we have a problem but we need forgiveness those whose eyes are fixed on jesus we'll make sure that we will not fall into that category isn't it true also psalm 15 i recommend who am i anyways we all know that memorize that memorize that this is a short chapter lord who will shall dwell in thy tabernacle lord who shall abide in thy tamil tabernacle and who shall dwell in thy holy place he that walketh uprightly oh that's a big high calling he that walketh uprightly and he that worketh righteousness what is righteousness righteousness is nothing but do what is right in the sight of god that pleases him no only god is good we are unworthy unrighteous no good and speak the truth in his heart i keep on pointing to that if our eyes are fixed on jesus we should be following isn't that true oh yes oh yes and there is another verse it says psalm 97 10 he that love the lord hate evil do we love the lord then we should hate evil we come very short of that right for he preserved the source of his sins and delivered them from the hand of the wicked it's a promise if we keep our eyes fixed on jesus there is always a way to come out and then it says down the line it says 119 nineteen one two one three i think that is whose transgression is forgiven and whose sin is covered and then down it says they also do no inequity they walk in this way what does it mean iniquity iniquity is sin you keep on doing the same thing see keep on doing the same thing repeating repeating ripping inequity inequity keep on building on it but those whose eyes are fixed on jesus they will not dwell in iniquity and then 199 it says how shall a young man cleanse his way by taking heed thereto according to his word the word of god spoken by god himself for you and for me isn't that wonderful there are so many verses you you can have so many verses that tell us about if i regard iniquity in my heart the lord will not hear me psalm 66 18 i think and then he says in psalm 919 11 thy word have i hidden mine heart that i may not sin against you sin is a big problem right but if i if his word is hidden my heart i will not sin if the holy spirit is working in me the devil cannot come and work in me so simple but it is tough because we are carnal minded people right by nature we are sinners and then another one 119 101 he says i have refrained my steps from every evil way this little practical things i refrain my steps from every evil way that i might keep your word there are so many texts like that so jesus has promised in abraham's time they were going from place to place they were looking for jesus to come the first time all these prophets and kings and people and chosen people all of them were looking forward for jesus the savior to be born all those years they had faith fixed on jesus looking unto jesus but when he came they did not accept him he came unto his own people and his own people did not accept him so also we are in these last days traveling do you remember parents grandparents great grandparents as far as back as you can go they all looked for jesus to come isn't that true they all prayed oh jesus may come in our lifetime children's life grandchildren they did not know still we are here does that mean he's not going to come he will come because we are not ready yet we are not ready we are delaying his coming because he has he has gone to prepare place for each one of us and when the time comes he will come and shall not tarry right a fire shall divorce before him when jesus comes the second time by the brightness of his glory of his face the people who were not ready will be dead what about us we have been journeying in this earth that has been the song of a pilgrimage for a long time jesus is not here yet we think you know hebrews what does it say hebrews oh first peter 3 4 i think where is the sign of his coming since our fathers fell asleep our fathers also it has been going on ever since the same way it has been going on where is this coming this is the doubt the devil puts in our hearts let's be careful go to the word of god claim his promises the devil has been defeated already christ has won the victory for us already you know as we sang in the first opening song the judgment has set and the books have been opened how shall we stand on the great day judgment is going on my friends we are going through a lot of what shall i say trials challenges sicknesses disasters coveted families are losing their loved ones i'm just yesterday the bible says the end is not yet there are few more things to be fulfilled if you follow the bible and the spirit of prophecy few more things will be fulfilled rapidly whoever thought last year january that coffee will come and destroy so many people millions of people in a short time in a short time so also these in this last days many many things will happen this in a short time because the way the gospel is going to all the world is going faster than the people who wish to preach those days month two months three months evangelistic series of meetings time has changed time has changed the gospel is bringing being preached to all the world all over the world like lightning you know i think of another text in the bible in revelation 18 5 and 6 i think like the iniquity in the land of canada during abraham's time was not full in revelation we also read come out of my people don't be partaker for our sins for our sins have reached unto heaven and god hath remembered her iniquities hmm our iniquities have separated us i already mentioned what is iniquity keep saying the same thing over and over again matthew 6 33 it says what does it say we all know that seek ye first the kingdom of god and his righteousness sometimes we stop with the first phrase seek first the kingdom we all want to go to heaven we all pray that we will be heaven jesus comes a second time yes but we have to do his righteousness you have faith if you don't have works it is dead so seek first the kingdom of god and his righteousness right doing in god's sight and all these things you read the chapter will be added unto you you know sometimes i think of the other one also 7 7 matthew 7 seek ask and you shall be given seek and shall find knock it shall be opened until oh it is so easy right we can pray all those things you know god in his plan knows what to give what not to give sometimes when we pray we always pray that lord i want this give me if everyone prays of course we all pray nothing bad about that we've got to pray and seek and ask and knock all that but we got to leave it to god for his will to be done then when that happens you will realize lord thank you i'm glad you did not give me i'm glad it did not take place thank you lord so it is like that so it's very important we are we are facing a battle between good and bad between christ and the devil right everybody has challenges your challenge is not my challenge your difficulties are not my difficulties your hardship is not my hardship every one of our hardship or difficulties or challenges so any of those things are unique isn't that true or unique it cannot be compared with one another paul says in the epistles don't compare oh he is like that why can't i be like this nobody is that person is about anybody nobody is a savior except jesus himself our dreams should be there what is our goal in life godliness and godliness god likeness is the goal to be reached what does it mean christ lived the life for me he took upon the fallen nature of man and became just like you and me and he was tempted on all points just like we are being tempted but he won the victory so that we also can win the victory through faith in jesus as long as our eyes are fixed on jesus fixed on jesus we will reach the goal sometimes you know young and all this for everybody all of us things will change rapidly things are going to change rapidly we will not have any control of of things that are happening even now you listen to the news how days are coming how days are coming rapidly it will shake individuals it will shake the families it will shake the church it will shake the community and the country we will not know what to do where to go how to go about these things will happen as long as unless of course these things troubles will come to everybody good and bad also many are the afflictions of the righteous but god delivered them out of them all these are the promises my friends because soon and very soon probation will close what is probation we all know what probation when people join work they'll give three months okay if you don't do your job good you're out you're done finished go on go home so also the probation what you see in the bible time and time again god has been calling each one of us repent from your sins repent from your sins repent from your sins how long how many times should we hear that and know that and read that did i open my heart to god so that i'll be convicted and stop doing that you know i think of all of us human nature right we have hatred i'm not telling this not this is a general statement okay there are godly people in the church in the world outside the world godly people good people righteous people but there's also more than that by the way in the church especially god's people those are waiting to go to heaven we have more temptations we start hating one another jealousy backbiting you know killing and all the sins that we read in the bible now these things and there are people who are very humble praise the lord for that there are people who do not do such things praise the lord for that nobody is perfect but god has called us to be perfect what does it mean perfectness if i used to steal i am a sinner i should not steal i do not steal any more in that sense i don't sin so i am perfect in that sense that one so also every sin i overcome but still i'm a sinner by birth but my sins are covered a transgression transgression is pardoned isn't that true because probation closes very soon if i do not repent from my sins and get rid of this deceptions that we are going to face we are facing then we will be deceived but god has promised i will take care of you i am going to come soon revelation 12 22 12 it says behold i come quickly and my reward is with me god is a reward for each one of us each one of us is fighting a battle your battle is not my battle my battle is not your battle it challenges all difficulties all those things are unique as i said we got to overcome the hurdles one at a time one at a time one at a time it may not be overnight though some people stop immediately you know once uh when i was playing tennis some years ago because of the kovid i don't play now there was another person was smoking before playing the game in the court and i said as usual i always make sure that is the holy spirit that leads everyone i said my friend why are you smoking you look strong if you stop smoking you can play better oh i have tried many times i have failed then i told him it's your willpower which is more powerful that piece of stupid cigarette or you you know what he did immediately put the cigarette crushed it on the floor is the willpower to decide to follow jesus to stop those things that i should not be doing is the willpower god has given us the power of choice to make each one of us isn't that true that's why it's so important in this last days before the probation closes this is the time we need to ask forgiveness this is the time we can help each other this is the time we can do good to one another this is the time we can pray for one another this is the time we can do all those things what god has told us to do because once the probation closes we will not be praying for one another others for others we will not be loving the enemies no more we will not be preaching the gospel anywhere no it's done finished jesus has left his place and ready to come take his people may god bless each one of us let's take an inventory of our hearts where i stand if i'm wrong i need to correct myself may god bless each one of us that i be you be we all be
