new to the inventory is this beautiful 1971 gtx um now this is one rear car you don't see a whole lot of the 71 gtx's that's because there's only 2 900 produced this one numbers matching rear end numbers matching four speed transmission freshly rebuilt 440 and this thing's a monster beautiful paint just a really cool car yeah beautiful i love the color combination with that the dark green and the black dalton and the restorer went ahead and went with the the cracked style magnum 500 rims uh it's got the old-school g70 14 inch tires on it so the car sits just like it would have back in the day sorry about the wind guys we're doing the best we can here but it is kind of a windy day in iowa as you look underneath the hood of this car me and dalton were talking a little bit ahead of this video how do you classify this car i mean it's got beautiful paint it's got a nice engine bay interior exterior solid floors if you go to our website coyoteclassics.com you're going to see just how solid and original these floor pans are inside the trunk also there's about five pictures that looks great as well so i would classify this as a beautiful turnkey driving car it's gonna definitely turn some heads definitely a local car so far in the car yeah um the motor 440 block um it's been completely rebuilt kind of built up a little bit i'm not going to go through all the specs on it but if you go to our website um we have on there listed you know kind of kind of everything they've done to the to the motor what i like about this muscle car also it's got power steering so many of the muscle cars guys you know the less pulleys the more power so they didn't have power steering they didn't check those boxes so it does have the power steering which is awful nice and also it's got the factory fender tank again so many mo cars for some reason that's something that always gets discarded i don't know why i mean one thing to point out about the engine is on this motor there's quite less than about 30 miles on it you know according to three cylinders were built when we got it in about 10 miles yeah we haven't drove it much either i did drive it far enough earlier to know that it needed a front end alignment we took it in got it aligned put new upper ball joints in it and uh i'll tell you what if this car drives nice that's nice too yeah also if you go underneath you're gonna see um on our website you're gonna see a ton of new parts in the front ar suspensions all that stuff is new um it's got your uh original style uh mopar radiator no one's went ahead and put an aluminum one nothing like that we got the idle on this one just sitting down so it's got that nice cami sound to it um bottom side of the hood paint is in great shape there as well it's got the mat does come with the factory hood pins as well and those nice 440 inserts now with these 71s it's a one-year only body style i absolutely love the roadrunner gtx satellite front grilles and front bumper it's just a beautiful style the gtx obviously is the top of the line uh factory four-speed pistol grip shifter front spoiler this car has it all guys as we're going along here really our hood fits really nice and flush back here dalton top of the hood top of the fender top of the door all fits perfectly our windshield's in excellent condition as well as we look along the top of the dash pad now the dash pad and here's your factory 23 vin number another thing i like is you don't see a bunch of surface rust nothing like that on the between the dash pad and the windshield that's all painted black real nice speaker cover is great we have two little minute cracks on one here right where the dash pad comes in and a very very tiny one right over here by the speaker it has a dual sport mirrors painted body color as well i love how they sunk this in here too and that 71 style passenger side hood gap matches up beautifully just the same as the driver side does it does have the little turning indicators up in here and right now guys they are not working i noticed that when i took it for a spin both sides of the hood lines up great top of the door top of the fender when this car come in we uh it looked great but we went ahead just like all our cars guys we go ahead and do a two-stage buffing on every single car that comes in the door um really making this paint look nice and nice and shiny on a great straight body there's a lot of metallic in there as well it's really a place that beautiful color you really got to see it in person to to really to see that metallic and we don't have a lot of sun today as we go around the top of the roof no visible dense dings anything like that we're going to go around the back glass here the back glass looks nice the trim around the back glass looks in excellent shape as well another thing to kind of look at i'm going to go ahead and rev it up a couple times and we'll shut it off as we're looking back here guys it's got the the correct style dual exhaust tips that really sounds good a guy could turn that idle up if you want to but i uh i like to hear that uh that little rumble there as far as our rear quarters go recorder down the bottom is in excellent condition a dual exhaust looks great it's got uh um the posi tag and stuff and we're talking about the rear end um that is the original uh dana 60 rear end remember what it's got for gears 354 gear ratio awesome um as far as the tires goes we're just going to point this out um you probably should have some radials put on it i mean these are the older this gives you that that original style look but they are older tires so if you guys want to do a lot of driving with this thing i'd have a set of radials as well and put these on for shows stuff like that that's what a lot of people do the sun popped out for us they can get a good uh idea of just how nice looking that paint is as far as blemishes dalton um the paint it doesn't really stay on there how old the paint is i'm guessing it's probably five years old or so um it's got a cup a little chip here probably happened during right after fitment it's got a touch-up right there and just the tiniest little uh paint imperfection right there by my thumb but really a nice gap from top to bottom here on this front fender on the passenger side the dual sport mirrors are painted beautifully um the glass in them is crystal clear the glass on the passenger side is in good shape too lines up nice but it looks all original um one thing i want to point out it almost looks like these are the original rubbers yet dalton these window felts if a guy wants to go ahead and replace those possibly they're the original ones it looks like the chrome lines up really nice here on the top our gap is nice and good there again just uh the bottom of this door right on the edge here it's just got some little maybe some little clear coat drops or just a little solvent right there in the very corner but that back quarter panel right here is awesome over the wheel well is great door handles are nice and clean and open easily door jamb paints coated well but it's not uh as nice as the outside paint on the body which we see on a lot of classics inside corner of the door is good like you said the fitment on this car all the way around from the hood to the doors of the trunk just really professional job putting this thing back together yeah it's a really nice job i mean it's not a i wouldn't classify this as a number one car all taken apart rotisserie done like that 70 challenger by any means but this is the car you can be really proud of and and own as a 71 440 four-speed gtx oh for sure definitely a car you can take to local car shows and probably win some yeah um as far as the door panel is absolutely mint on the passenger side again they went with the uh this assembly here just a cool body style what do you think of the 71's it's probably one of the first ones you've seen yeah right i have you know especially gtx like i said um roadrunners are a little more you see a little more of them in 71 but even then they didn't have huge productions and i mean and the prices are crazy on 71 roadrunners they're damn near as high as the gtx is there and we talk about 2 900 gtx is made in 71. um you know that's kind of crazy how many are left you know how many were put around poles and and wrecked during the day headliner is an excellent shape no wrinkles nothing like that the visors look original above the visors are in great shape as well and they're nice and tight has its original mirror yet but i do know during the restoration they did redo the door panel seats carpet yep it looks great too i mean they did a fantastic job the council is awesome it's got the hurst four speed pistol grip shifter the seat backs are in great shape as well they did a great job it's got the retractable seat belts in the front it's got the uh seat belts for looks like three in the back maybe looks like seat belts for three in the back the back shelf as we get in here i'm actually going to climb back up in here a little bit just kind of show you how nice that back shelf is so the back shelf's in great shape the rear sails are nice as we come down here all this is plastic and so many times up there at the top of the seat you're going to see a lot of that plastic gets busted or cracked over the the years and this one is excellent original ashtrays there's the gtx is going to give you all this wood grain on the door panels dash and back door panels so great interior guys oh there's one little flaw here looks like at one point there might be just a little bit um of a little flaw right here might have had a hole in it and somebody fixed it with vinyl right there but other than that that back seat looks like new um we talked a little bit about the the dash pad crack right here other than that the gtx uh wood grain on the console the shifter all matches go ahead and turn the car on a minute it has its original am fm radio obviously it's not working but it's 100 complete and it looks great our horn does work our heater fan works as well guys wipers we just put a brand new wiper switch in it and the wipers the two-speed wipers were working perfectly except for they didn't park properly so we pulled that park mechanism out um i'm finding another one as we speak and we'll have that fixed before it gets delivered as we look inside here glove box is original light works inside the glove box and if we look at the inside of the glove box just look how nice that is it's not surface rusty or nothing like that the paint on the dash is good the matte black the reverse light does work if i can get it in reverse here i'll show you later but the reverse light works as well as far as our steering wheel the wood grain matches everything on the wheel and there's no cracks in the wheel on the outside edge so as far as mileage on it shows twenty four thousand fifty four miles on the odometer and uh factory attack works gauges work just a really cool car how would you mind uh opening that trunk for us as long as we're kind of going around this once as we look up and down the sides really straight body good paint back bumper chrome's in great shape tail light lenses are good but as we look around the lenses you're going to have that that gray there is uh is faded a little bit that little chrome around the lenses themselves as we go inside the trunk we have a bias ply spare steel rim we got the jack we got everything here as well looks like original quarter car too i know on this side i can see the original number stamping okay i'm one thing i'm going to point out guys i don't know if you'll see in the video they did not re-jam the car when it was they painted it so the door jambs themselves and the trunk jam is just a very slight different color a little lighter um the outside's a little darker so we thought about taking it to the body shop but you know how many times you get that paint matching perfect anyway so exactly inside the trunk jam was jammed the bottom of the trunk lid in the bottom of the hood was jammed properly that looks awesome it's got the kreg jack instructions that paint's beautiful there inside the fenders and all that it's got the original yeah these i'm sure these original quarters you can just tell here this is the original undercoating and stuff like that from the factory that they put on those quarters i'm door shut good and lines up nice as we go through here on the driver's side nice straight paint and body dalton and myself will both be looking for some little imperfections as we go along on the bottom of the quarter is perfect over the wheel well is excellent no flaws or bubbles nothing like that down there same thing above the rocker panel molding is excellent check out how nice and dalton pointed this out how nice the body lines are and how the doors fit i mean you don't get them to fit any better than that right there we have one tiny little clear coat chip right here one tiny little chip up here on the hood too okay um as we go to this chrome again you can't get that to line up any better um roof rail rubber is in good shape this little rubber here guys i mean it's just got some little cracks in it it seals up fine up and down and the windows line up nice on this car as far as our front gap lines up excellent a couple tiny little um tiny little chips right along here very small bottom of the fender is great bottom of the door all looks nice what did you say you seen the old chipped oh yeah tiny little chip here you can see the primer the whole yellow primer right there um as we go through here here's our inside of the door bottom corner looks good doesn't look like it's ever had any work done there a driver's door panel is perfect as well except for the armrest base has the smallest of little little slit right there uh driver side seat passenger seat they did it awes whoever did the seats did an awesome job they're super tight you know there's no bagginess anywhere to the seats they did it very very professionally um corners are of our quarter panels and stuff they got that nice lip all the way through there that tire pressure information um when they did do it years ago the strikers were all removed no one painted over that kind of stuff let's see how this old girl dropped my show all right so we talked about uh a few things the radio don't work the horn does all the gauges work um tack works we talked the heater that works already it does have the remote mirror and that works properly as well both of our visors are nice and tight anything you want to add nope good looking car so on these four speeds way over and up there's our reverse light i talked about that's pretty that's a miracle a lot of those don't worry [Music] this thing sounds good so right now guys it's idling about a thousand rpm let's see what happens when that choke comes off a little bit oil pressure is right in the middle okay fuel gauge works tack works temperature gauge works spirometer works as well i'll just point this out a little bit ago i had it going down the road and we're not going to get on this car because the motors yeah pretty fresh motors so but i did have it just cruising down the highway we were doing 70 mile an hour and it was running about 4 000 rpm so if everything is correct that's where you're running for your repeaters the only thing i notice on it i'm going to have a grant take a look at it the clutch pedal is a little squeaky a lot of times what that is is just dry yeah metal on metal there just the pedal itself yeah yeah you can just hear just that little bit of spoon something i noticed that i didn't like but it's very simple very simple to fix these are comfortable cars too i mean that's 50 mile an hour right there guys oh as far as our brakes go and i didn't look if they're disc or drum but front desk are they okay good they're stopping just like this there's no pull right or left it is manual brakes so you don't have the power so we're just going through the gears 3000 rpms as we look here i love the pistol grip shifter nice easy shift here that's up to 70 73 mile an hour so it gets right up and goes to the program but we just want to watch our rpm for this new motor so 64 mile an hour running about 3 500 rpms which is the case with a lot of the mobile look at our oil pressure dude it's way out but you know obviously as it should it's way up on the high side going down the road temperature gauge is off fantastic after that alignment drives perfectly i mean just one finger on the wheel it's a great car yeah just a great great driver extremely rare too yeah you know and and big black power and a four speed and numbers match your rear end and transmission you know you can't really go wrong it's a collector it's a driver just a fun bad ass muscle car this sounds great too going down the underwear we're dealing with about a 30 mile an hour wind today guys and it is we're doing uh 3 500 rpm so many of these cars are just loud you know between the wind and the rpms as loud and stuff this is really quiet in here yeah it's very impressive how how it seals up so well even with some of those older covers i don't know what i'll say about it good car i like it all right guys check it out on
