I didn't see any really good videos on how to use this uh one I bought this on Amazon for like I don't know 35 40 bucks or something like that for refilling Soda Stream Tera uh CO2 canisters so this is the there's the the item number anyway uh pretty straightforward this is a uh this tank has the dip straw in it so you got your white little gasket in there if you're curious that's what that inside looks like also bought this aluminum tank on Amazon I want to say 20 240 bucks delivered maybe something like that had the uh what they call it the food grade CO2 uh they said that any tank this size or less it's automatically done this is a 20 lb tank automatically done with food grade I guess that's just to protect the restaurant industry uh since that must be primarily what they use anyway that was at air gas Texas so take uh take a wrench and just kind of adjustable wrench and just kind of finalize I don't want to overtighten anything but that's obviously a little bit under tight to make this so that the r is easy to see when I'm done t [Music] working uh and I'm thinking I should have this facing horizontally as well so I do this off camera setup hang on all right so that's how I'm going to have mine set up I to be perfectly honest I have no idea how this thing works I mean I don't get it I I see there's a a hole there and then you got your uh your stopper here it's got a little pointed tip on there which my uh non-assumption is just what it is one of those is going to go into this this hole right here to hold it in place so it doesn't blow out um would be my guess and then there's a hole on the other side of this tank where it's going to fill through through I guess so my assumption is that that's why they say the tank has to be completely empty when you start so you're it doesn't say but okay maybe it says but I guess maybe I wasn't picking up on it but here's the deal there's your uh instructions for this one you can uh pause that and read those good enough all right so intuitively I guess what it it's telling me what to do uh I'm just not reading it thly be honest so you're going to have this in the open position before you insert your tank number one you don't want that that little pin in there cuz what it'll do is it'll scratch the crap out of the the neck the ceiling neck on this you don't want to do that so have that in the open position so it cannot that little point on there is not something that can scratch then you're going to um it doesn't say to do this but I know this from this previous piece of garbage um that I bought looks like it's from the same company as well but this is a different style um this tip of the little pin the tip busted off so it'll no longer hold my my canister in Mech canister sits here and it just blows out because of all the pressure it's in there so with this design it would appear that the two O-rings are the only thing that makes the seal the final seal uh and then all the pressure stays inside of those two O-rings so you're still dependent on this guy to hold your tank in um but any blow up that happens is going to be inherently should be out the side of it it should not you know it's not going to punch the uh the canister back at you which was the problem that I was having I I came straight across the room and hit the washing machine with one so uh I'm going to be real hesitant using this at first open everything really slowly and additionally this is something I did on my other one I lube this up with olive oil uh the O-rings up with olive oil before I slide in there um it it just allows it to pass through a lot easier your your neck of your soda stream container is going to be you know ice cold if you're putting it in a refrigerator or the freezer first so I use olive oil on mine you know big deal food grade right if it gets in your uh drink who cares um and that seemed to really work for not binding the O-rings on the previous design uh and allowing it to slide in and out real nicely so I didn't have to worry about replacing those O-rings quite as often so give that a shot I've had the CO2 tanks sitting in the freezer overnight uh but I do need to make sure that they're empty I didn't I did not ensure that they're completely empty and the way that I'll do that of course is just throw it in here and push the button till she's drained all right so we got our ice Co old canister we got our O-rings lubed uh we're going to match up this side with the uh the major air release we're going to pop that in this way and we're going to fiddle around with it until we get a good uh good connection with with this thing into that that hole right there so I didn't really notice this go into that hole at all so maybe the design is just so that it gets into this this knock I think is is what the intent is on that not into that hole but into the notch so now the the remaining you get an O-ring that's going to be sitting just above that Notch and below that Notch so the air is actually passing in through this portion here which I just I don't understand how this is going to work but it says it's G to so we'll give it a shot um it should be ready to go this is fully closed fully tight uh and uh yeah hopefully we don't have a blowout here says to watch the pressure on the tank cracking it open ever so scared to do this and have a blowout I'm just going to let it seep in slowly I I don't know I didn't really study up on this but I didn't look to see if that green it says 150 whatever PSI what does it say use no oil in the uh PSI all right compressor on my freezer just stopped scared to PO I me I thought something was going to go it's I don't know if you can hear it but it's still hissing I know on the previous design I would just go until it stopped taking in gas it would just you could hear it stop it's getting close and then i' to weigh it all right so I'm full open on my tank so the pressure is equalized going shut her down and then we have to now that we're shut down we should be able to open this and release the excess pressure I guess I'm I have to do that off camera I'm going to hold this bottle uh with a glove as I'm doing that just to stabilize things but that's all I'm doing is unscrewing this it's going to do it really slow because this has a tiny little o-ring on it and the O-ring is going to want to blow out so I I've done in the past real slowly on the previous design and it seemed to work all right sorry about that all right so we got the one that we just filled and then we got a brand new one let's weigh that one in first in Gams it 1152 that seems to be a familiar number from a previous one feel a little lighter oh not too bad okay uh 56 G down not too bad okay it works by the way just in case you've never done this before I forgot you can just turn this to make sure it's completely empty you can hear it hissing so I just uh open mine a little bit be hard to do it without knocking this thing over try to open it more and so of course is that last CO2 is evacuating out of there it's yeah it's coming out of that little pin hole of course there's the termination now tighten that back down you might want to do if you're nervous about doing this at all if you haven't done it I put a little black mark on mine indicating horizontal so that's where you turn it back to when you're done all right so let's weigh this one in empty 744 gram empty all right again and we are set up let's get it wall this cold zero again tighten this thing down all the [Music] way that wine of the tank that uh screaming kind of sound makes me nervous could probably open this up quicker I just just it's a little nerve-wracking I don't know dealing with pressurized food can hear the hissing slowing down as it starts slowing down could maybe open it up a little more the tank all the uh the white uh from being frozen overnight on the tank all the frost as you're dumping this in just goes away which just kind of surprising I thought it'd be the opposite all right so open the tank all the way listen for the the hissing to completely stop still a little little bit all right there's a tiny bit of hiss still I mean very ever so ever so small amount a hiss yet all right now that I know what's going to happen on this one I can stabilize the tank and show you what happens little his coming [Music] out so there's a little bit of pressure inside of this device all the way back to the neck here basically so little slow release probably don't have to do it this slow but why not of course that's the ice cold liquid CO2 expanding right now is why it's hissing so much I don't feel anything cold on my fingers but it's coming out of there [Music] [Music] somewhere [Music] there it is all right back it off a little more so you don't scratch the neck and pull it out and that's it so let's see this one feels a little heavier we're a little overfilled on that one 1228 right is that right here's the brand new one yeah it feels lighter all right so this is a little bit overfilled actually so I'm fine with that and it's not that much overfilled so it'll be good all right so I'm going to I'm going to tell you right now I I didn't understand this design now I get it but I was really apprehensive of buying this kind it seemed like it'd be flimsier than this um this one sucks it's it's a terrible design with this uh let's see with this design versus this design this is worth your money right here this is not so um again the reason this pin here is a much much smaller outside diameter than this one as it goes into this tiny little hole and what ended up happening is when I was inserting that CO2 tank into the end of there and then dialing in this thing to kind of hold it in place it uh I turned the CO2 tank just a little bit for just trying to see if I was on Center and it snapped off that fragile tip uh rendering it useless so it'll no longer hold in there so and and and to try to find one of these in that size right there is impossible i' I've tried to contact the deal uh the vendor in China um to no avail you know let the language bear if I spoke uh Chinese and whatever dialect they speak might be helpful I got neighbors I probably should have asked for some help on it but anyway um this is great this is super easy uh obviously you saw it twice very effective so hopefully that review helps somebody and uh yeah like subscribe
